No trips here Jaye but 98* is pretty darn close.........Got out early this morning and pulled some weeds, took the bird out with me. He loved it. Then moved him over to the grass where the sun was shinning, he snuggled down in the grass and went to sleep, lol. So I took him back in the house I was back and forth to hot house and front yard, didn't want to leave him unattened even though he was in a cage ( no bottom) too many cats around. Chased two out of garage that were inside the bag of cat food, gggrrrrrrr. One was Doug's mom's!
Lk, I went ahead and anounced you were the winner. Every body kept saying the same two things, lol.....
*Sweet Interruptions* Room 262
Thanks Cindy.
Oh dear Sistahs.. together let's pray that Chantal will reduce its strength and change its' course soon and miss DR!
Supposed to reach DR in the afternoon.
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,
dear Father we ask you Lord to please protect our beloved Kimberly, from harm and to calm Chantal.
Send angels in all directions to keep Kim safe.
In Jesus name, we pray.
Amen
AMEN!
Thanks everyone. I did hear from Kim and according to her, they are having rain but nothing else....going on a trip to an orphanage this afternoon. Said she will have loads of things to share with me when she returns. Guess I will be headed to Atlanta on Saturday.....cheaper than flying to Tally or renting a car. Besides, that will be as much of a vacation (other than Kathys provided things are okay with mom) as I will have this year. If all goes as planned, we will stop on our way back home to our friend in dressage and cross county competition.
Keeping you and Kim in my prayers too Marion....
Thanks Barb.
Amen on that beautiful prayer for Kim and all of DR's safety.
Thanks Joyce. Will you be coming to Kathy's? I am working on attending but things are so dependent of the current situation with mom..not giving up...still making plans.
of course she's coming
Lord knows we are all worry warts here. Thank you Lord for reducing Chantal to just wee tears. One death is still too many for any natural calamity.
Marion, your worries will soon be over when you pick her up at Atlanta.
Been an unexciting day. Wasted one whole day today. Nothing accomplished, except that I did rest my sore legs. Played with the machine, keep changing my minds on block patterns.. just aimless meandering in my murky thoughts. I'm sure this is normal for all!
Good night my sistahs. Sleep well and don't anyone dare fight the heat tomorrow.
Night Jaye, get some sleep. Hope your legs are better tomorrow!
Morning sistahs.
Legs are much better, thank you LK.
A day that I would have to stick to ONE birdhouse pattern. Craftsy has a few free patterns, and they're all paper pieced.
Have you decided on a pattern LK?
Thunder, did I understand you right? If, appliqued, you'd rather applique them yourself? I can comprehend that, so you'd have the same applique stitches and width on all blocks.
Gaining my independence soon. Gonna pick up my red GMC half cab truck that's been in the shop for a month. It would cost a quite an ugly penny to pay for motor and transmission job.
Would be easy to buy a new one, but I don't like notes and that would hurt my budget. Plus, there's the high taxes to pay annually, and no telling how much the insurance would be.
So, I rather drive my red, just for around town. Tired of depending on Kel for short jaunts. AND I hate his Chevrolet!!
Have a good day my sistahs.
Those are pretty. Mostly appliques I see. I had cut out fused fabrics for the second one and added a strip to the bottom for a platform. Am thinking of adding birds.. then I went looking again!! Lolol!!
Oh.. I have to take a pic of Jean's. Hers is beautiful and paper pieced!! Oh to be at her level!
Can't wait to see what she sent! I have not done any paper piecing! Is it easy to do?
It gets confusing, but like anything else, if you don't practise enough..
quilterscache have some easy patterns for beginners.
Mine are paper pieced too and I will be sending out 6 this week. Go to Carol Doak's website Linda. She has a tutorial that shows just how easy it can be. Just takes a bit of practice. One of her books makes a wonderful learning tool. She includes a CD in them so you can print out patterns. I just love her and have been doing her method for several years now.
Thanks Barb!! The LQS raves about Carol Doak. All I have of hers are the paper!
I agree with the others LK, just practice.....I had taken a class many years ago but didn't really learn how until I started with DG. Just don't attempt to do one when you mind is cluttered with other activities. Carol Doak is the bestest!!!!
Thanks for all the info, I will Google her, and see what I can find!
lk, thanks for the heads up on the dog food. vet said it explains Sammy not feeling good at nitr. bad bad mommy
Have you changed brands now?
Finally got my truck, and now, Kel had to recharge the a/c unit. He said too that I need a new set of tires. Head doing the maths here.
I can eat salad everyday if I had to, but not Kel and the kids!!
Marion, I'm so happy for Kim. A once in a lifetime trip that won't be marred by bad weather. Can't wait to see what native artisan's work she'll get for you or the girls!
Good afternoon.....trying to do some work but mind just isn't into it today. Poured hard last night and more on the way today. I know we need rain but please, could be have a tiny break for a change.
I will be so excited to see what she brings back Jaye. Usually it is something very typical of the place she has been and representative of their art. I know she got some cigars for her brother and some rum for a friend. Other than that...no clue. Wee bit nervous about driving to Atlanta but I can do it...just leave in plenty of time in the event we have some rainy weather along the way.
As you can tell, not much going on here!!!
marion, i'm only 4 hours from Atlanta, want me to go get her?
...then what would we do with her?
I can bring her home after a nite at my house. or you could come here, and we can both go get her
what I said about applique Jaye is this....
when I do applique blocks , I usually use the stitching of the applique as the quilting of the piece....
I have only done wall hangings, never done applique for a quilt, except for the butterflies that I put on Malena's quilt. and those I appliqued on after the rest of the quilt was finished. outline of the butterflies showed on the back side.
however you wish to send it will be fine.

Surgery. BRB!
Your having surgery?
There is kitchen towel swap open, come and check it out!
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1323963/
Tried to call you Kathy!
Sending good vibes for your surgery, Lanakila. Speedy recovery too.
Thanks Thunder for explaining. I am still undecided. If I do applique, it would be raw applique with blanket stitches. Just love that look. But I doubt that's the route I'll take.
Will look at that later, LK. Anything free is a bonus for quilters! Thanks.
Got this oain right in between my eyes that didn't go away. Think I'm back to taking bp pills which I had avoided for months now. Must be due to the summer heat.
It's raining so one chore off the list. Still got to cook for Kel. Doubt he'd want frozen pizza again :(
Jaye, you need to take those pills. The Dr. gave them to you for a reason!
