A wonderful cloudy day to celebrate the 4th. NO RAINS!!!! YAYYY for Lanakila and I. We've been hammered with rains non-stop and I know the mosquitoes and ants are happy.

I sure will, I can relate to her because I had a still born grand child 5 years ago.

Prayers for Jax and family. It is so hard to lose a child.

Last minute change of plans for us yesterday. Kel said to save the steaks for today and we started a new tradition for the 4th. Went to Cracker Barrel and I didn't argue!! Lolol.
They had salmon patties on a new menu, and talk about good! Saw lots of pretty girls wearing RWB dresses!

Marion, Sandra from MidSouth, shared this recipe. She said it's good. Seems to me, you could halve the recipe. Think this is made for a MidSouth RU.

Garlic chicken with craisins.
Traditional chicken----both are bought at Wal-mar already cooked
Craisins 1 pound
1 tall and 1 small mandarin oranges
Drained and chopped
Celery
1-1/2 cup pecans
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
Mayonnaise
3 cloves of garlic

Off to garden a bit, before the rains hit. As I told some on FB.. think I've spotted some mosquitoes rowing away..

Inspite of everything, it was a wonderful 4th....had a very long chat with Ross' youngest sister, we laughed, cried and just enjoyed talking about doing crafts. She was in a quilting group at one time with Mittsy...small world, isn't it. Her husband is a quadriplegic and isn't doing very well. She has cared for him all their married life (30+) and now is being faced with a feeding tube.

If the rains hold off for a while I will make a trip to the grocery store...no milk, bread and the kitty food is getting low....they are not very happy about that.

rain held off here all day. I was so glad, because I didn't want my house tracked full of mud. I am tired and sore today

Long night last night with all the fireworks going off around us. Harlee was shaking and panting so hard. Amy didn't faze her a bit, she tried to comfort Harlee stayed real close to her kept licking her. Neighbors were out until 1am and with their kids, jeez. Throwing fire crakers out into the street. Not one at a time, the whole pkg. Was waiting to see if their car was going to catch on fire one bunch landed right by the tire on the gas tank side, STUPID!!!!!!

Well, Andy and kids are gone, we had a wonderful time, Dylan loved the pool, and the fireworks. He was not afraid of the water or the noise! Grandpa Todd would shoot off one that went into the air, and Dylan clapped and cheered!

cindy, go to the pet store. they sell special powder you mix with water just for baby birds. you feed them with a syringe

I have pipelets, that I use for candle oils working perfect. he/she is a pig lol. Mashed up egg yoke with milk. I read where it said to feed them can dog food, liver or kidney flavor

I don't think I'm gonna drive him tho.
I fell yesterday, on my bad knee (going up the stairs in our church - I thot there was an extra step and there wasn't...) So, on my bad knee with the torn ligament and osteoporosis, I now have a huge swelling which the Dr says is water on the knee. Gave me T3 and anti-inflammatory meds. He says in about 10 days it should be better
Geeze it would be painful if I wasn't so drugged up lol I just woke up from a great nap....... lol

OMG!!! you would not what believe the people on The Plant Exchnge, having a fit because of this little bird, HOLY COW!!!!!

For as long as I can remember, just about everyone in my family recused a wild life animal of some sort, from birds to fawns, baby skunks etc. Now I get this young person who suppoedly know it all about taking care of baby bird THE RIGHT WAY!!!! And it's illegal for me to even have the bird, lol.............grrrr ticked me off so bad I removed the post...should of sent her a nasty message first ^_^

Cindy,you should have told her that some people have a heart.If it wasn't for y'all the baby bird would not have made it.I say you go girl.

Cindy, some people like Jaye said, are so ignorant! Do what you feel is right. Do they even know what kind of bird it is? Not all birds are protected species.

Jaye, yes Rory has lost some of his baby fat, and getting taller! They grow so fast! And MaryAnne is a little mommy for Dylan. Oh she can get to be quite mouthy, and has to be told not to do that!

I didn't know you had a Rory too LK. mine DGS Rory is grown and a daddy.

Have to tell you all something funny......

My daughter is house sitting for a friend. So she goes to the house, takes her stuff inside comes back out to car to get more stuff...well the door went shut, and was locked.....so here she is going all around house looking for open window, nope all locked. So she climbs up a cement/brick wall to get into back yard, all windows locked. So she spots doggie door.........starts crawling through the door calling out dogs name so he would not mistake her for burgler, in the mean time she's thinking
"oh god hope I don't get stuck" lol plus her cell phone is ringing ringing ringing, it's SIL checking to make sure she made it ok, because she had not called him yet to let him know. She calls him and tells him what happened. So he says to her "Wished I would of been there to get a pix of you going thorugh doggie door" then he says "it's a wonder your butt didn't get stuck" she says "What are you trying to say?!!!!" lol Sometimes he just doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut, lol
