Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

rained last nite for 5 minutes after a day with heat index of 105. gonna be the same here. just spoke to cookie and sent flowers
Praise the Lord
I finally slept. until 8:45

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

We had horrible thunder and lightning during the night....so bad I got up and checked the weather. Severe thunderstorm warnings posted until 4:30 am but radar showed it all around us...center of the donut again. Rain didn't last long but it did rain hard for about 20 minutes.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That he is Joyce, how are you coping?

Debbie, last weekend in July..I go Saturday for the trials then Sunday Elvis gospel breakfast, that I would order tickets then stay for aft performances but not a must, sure hooe you could work it in, know if you did it would likely be a yearly thing..your birthday is coming up, now if I gave you tickets for the breakfast how could he possibly say no unless of course he hated Elvis.

Just read Canada day celebrations where we the dg group went to last year has bands going on tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night..tribute artists the works..won't go though but I'll be hearing them in my yard seeing they are right behind me.

Trying to quilt that wedding quilt on my janome..not sure how it will turn out seeing as its sooo damp, the layers of fabric even though well pinned can't slide..I'll keep trying though

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad you are all safe from bad weather, sun is now out, nice breeze so think I'll open the doors/windows and let fresh air in, may it will help the dampness..

My gardens sure did take a pounding, I must have slept like a baby because I didn't hear a thing

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Betty, that is really good you slept through it.....means you were actually getting some rest!

Judy, Kim leaves in the morning...she is so excited.

Good Morning and Happy Friday!!

I am taking a quick break and then it's off to the laundromat, lol which means McDonalds for Breakfast!!

I am opening arms wide to wrap around all who need an Armwrap.

Sunshine, I'm sorry for the loss of Bill's dad. I'm glad prayers were answered for him to go gently. May you both be comforted.
I hope that you both will get a good rest soon.

It was really good to see you got home Safely Susan, wow what a story and fabulous pictures...hope everything works out for catching a ride to pick up camper...

Depsi, How great to see you. Wow, thank you for sharing the Museum photos of your great grands!! I just love the story of the quilt...it is a work of art, and i just love they added your great grandmothers photo to center...Oh goodness, sure hope you get to feeling better. So, so glad it was not cancer, holy moley, that doc told you that, sure needs to be slapped upside the head. Well, I hope you will heal faster with out that thought.

Katie, so glad you got home safely...Awe, give you Tony a big hug for always being there with you. Now I hope that's just a cold so, yes yes get some rest.

Waiving hi Barbara!! Was telling DH about your sciatica, he said he hopes that stops quickly...Such a painful thing.
I sure wish they could find a med that would help that.

Debbie, oh man, sorry to hear about your toes. LOL, once you find a routine with the little cutie, it will be time to not baby sit!! Sure hope your not to sore from the poke and prod treatment...and Awe, just love the pic of Paul reading to baby, so precious.

Dianne, so good to see you post too, was getting worried. Big bummer you cant get in earlier, i hope your on call list. Oh yippe for you finding a cleaning lady, that will give you lots of time with the furbies and, well not to mention some good rest those dizzies!

Speaking of Dizzies, we haven't heard from Thea in absolute ages...Thea, if your lurking waiving hi, hope your dizzies have subsided too and you have just been busy creating those gorgeous pieces of art, your quilting!

Oh Marion, sure sounds like your sister needs your Ark!! I so can feel her frustration and anyone else who has been getting torrential rains, me included!! The other night we had a doozy! But wow watching the light show was fantastic at 4 in the morning. Was so glad you had such a nice time with the grand daughters! Now has Kim left for her trip? Sorry, got so much on my brain forgot when she is or has gone. Hows your project going?

So, Ive been back in the basement, sigh we had 6 inches of water down there and it took the entire day for it to drain. Of course DH had to work sooo Jacob and I did the clean up it took us almost 3 hours, needless to say I was exhausted. One of the things was to wring out some of the stuff, grrr my towels somehow got knocked over and and a few other things, roflol, tried spinning them in the washer, but it was too wet to work, man what a drag but then Jacob was mopping with the mop and the tub has a wringer, you know an janitorial type, well, well...my injunjudity struck and we used it to wring the stuff enough! What a brainstorm and it was done in half the time of having to wring by hand, so happy dance here. I was going to the laundromat, but thought to see if the washer was back in working and to my surprise it is, so on my second load already, I hope i can get it all done by noon! Woohoo, plus I am keeping the 20 bucks i was going to use at the laundry!! Well, got to get some stuff and mail a bunch of stuff off, so there that goes... But I forgot what it was like to have so much money I don't know where to start spending it, hahaha...Oh got to throw in a positive, We only lost a big piece of carpeting, which was rolled up in a bucket but not heavy enough, down it went and was drenched...not a big loss.
I am just so thankful, I had been working down there to sort and organize, Everything was placed in a bucket or plastic tote, whew...And then it rained 2 more times yesterday, Jake said he's going to flip if we flood again, me too.

Hey Jody, yikes i hope you stick to your feelings.

Hi Kathy, nice to see you over here.

Welcome and Hello Marylin, Was glad to see you were able to get out even for a short time. Nothing like sitting and watching nature. I sure hope you can find a nice pillow to sit on.
By the way, i am Judy from Illinois. Had to just lurk for a little while but hopefully i can get back to posting regularly.
It will be nice to get to know you.

Hi Moonbeam...As always, just wonderful to chat with you...Roflol, We both fell asleep!! That has been happening a lot lately, I fall into bed so early i am up anywhere from 4 A.M. today, made myself return to sleep until 6.
Oh and because we have no hot water, We had a nice soak in the hot tub.

Linda Kay, how are ya doing? lol, Steve finally spotted the hummer and was amazed! lol, told him about the two fighting over, was pretty cool to see...Oh but he is just overjoyed at our Yukka, it's finally bloomed and so beautiful! Are you working on anything?

Waiving Hiya Thunder, Sure hope all is well with you? Know you have a crazy schedule, but i do hope your getting in your play time, what you working on?? And how is the baby? I will always think of you and Dave at 4th of July!! Big huge smiles, we had such a great time. Please tell Mama, I said hi and i hope all is well with her too.

lets see...Mary!! How are you?? Are you over that nasty cold? How are things going? I hope you are finding time for yourself and how the heck is our Belle?

Bev, if your reading, waiving howdy, was so glad to see your so happy and enjoying life! You deserve every second, and I sure hope it still going so wonderful.

Well i think I got to everyone so that leaves me to my Betty, Betty...
Oh my goodness Congratulation to Kyle!! How was the graduation?
Good gosh, I sure hope they replace that machine or give you a refund...OMG I think I'ld be on the phone b'ing up a storm.
lol, i did just that with our printer. Used to be, I got my cards the next day, but well, they are have a bit of a time with business, so I can wait patiently. My Printer Jim is on vacation, and his new partner has been dealing with stuff, I wanted a call concerning my cards and he sent me an e-mail, So I called and left a message asking if they left their promptness and the old office, also, I am the type of person who just needs that verbal conversation, about what I want. lol. I received a call from the partner in less then an hour, explaining what was up with my order and confirming my concerns.
Well, dang, I missed McD's breakfast, so now ill go whip up my own...So what have you decided with the Quilt you were working on? I sure hope you'll be able to get it finished in time.
Betty, i have sooo much to tell you all, it will take me the entire weekend to write it up, so expect a small journal soon, haha...what else is new with my blabber face! We have to get to the house this weekend, because its rented for the long weekend and the immediate week. So i figure i am going to take the time to write, lol when i get tired of reading, woohoo finally got the two books I've been waiting on from the library, yippeee.
ok well I have got to keep up with machine so i can be done with it!!
off to fold...eat and a bunch of other stuff.

Enjoy the day everyone!!

((((JUDY)))) OMG!!! So so so Happy for you!!! Congratulations!!!! Whoooooo Hooooo!!!

Well, this rain has cause so much havoc! Driving ban in Lockport...where that craft show is tomorrow.
Manhole covers floating down the road, then water gushing up 3 feet out and over flooding the road.
Mayor has issued driving ban. Cars stalled out everywhere!! Glad I am not in that area right now.
My girls have to go through there on way home....but can take back country roads. A bit safer.

St

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

WHOO HOO JUJUBE! Doing the happy dance right along with ya. Been on pins and needles for days. I am so happy for you and so proud that they recognize quality when they see it. BIG HUGS and a huge Thumbs up!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg Judy, you did get the job., dancing right along with you..omg you knew you were just perfect for it, they must have felt you were made for the job...so so happy and in a field you wanted. When do you start? Not far from your home?
Now what did Steve say..you will have to celebrate when you get to the cottage.
Can you see me dancing with joy Judy..

Debbie, got the storm, flowers laying on the ground but nothing like you are experiencing..glad you are and the girls are in the safety of your homes.

How disappointing for those who organized the events, when I was recreational
co-ordinator it was always my most dreaded thought, it would rain..tried to have backup plan but sometimes no can do.

Dianne can probably tell stories of her doing shows when it rained.
Could it possibly clear/drain off by tomorrow so it can still be held?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Judy, doing the big happy dance for you! Congrats!

Kathy, I know you said a few pretty words when you dropped that box of tiles on your toe! OUCH! Hope you put some ice on it!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

YAY! Lil Injun! I'm wiggling in my chair for you, the sit down happy dance!!! ^_^

It got so dark outside and the wind was whipping stuff like crazy. I was pulling some weeds and had just one little plant I wanted to get in the ground and a limb nearby landed in the bed of Bill's truck! Oh my goodness you should have seen me move!

So I'm having beer thirty all by myself.....

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Congrats Judy....do we have to call you Mrs. Judy now? :-)

Waving to Cookie. I had a limb fall last night that was about 5' tall...land in one of my flower boxes on the upper deck just like I had placed it there for a trellis.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

that toe doesn't hurt anymore, but a while ago I had a run in with the bathroom door and broke my toe on the other foot

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

Judy, Judy, Judy, (is this dumb? overused? heard it once sorta thing?)
CONGRATULATIONS We are all in a Conga Line shaking our tushes dancing the happy dance !!!!! Good for you !
Hi Marilynne, Keeping good thoughts coming your way for 7/10...
Kathy, after seeing this last post by you I was thinking you may need those little straight things that used to come off your side of the car that you could tell how close you were to the curb.....do you remember those??? You could strap them somehow to your front toes and you'd know when you were getting close to something to hurt your toes.....what'dya think???? lol Be careful, Kiddoo......
I just finished another set of 4 daily shots in the hiney....it was recephicin or something sounding similiar to that....even tho they used lidocaine each time in the needle and bounced from one cheek to the other I am still stinging.....so now I go to start the bladder infusion 7/10.....taking two new meds of which one that makes me sleepy.....kinda hard on the driving....lucky Bob is here to drive for the important stuff....
very, very hot here today....we are starting to set record temps again in the coming week.....enough already !!!! I love the rain and gray....

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

depsi, I think your right. maybe hubby can make me some

Victoria Harbour, ON

Joyce, methinks you need more than 1 beer, here is hoping you bought a case.

I'm almost tempted to just lay on the couch hearing all about you bobo's, falling, tripping, dropping, Lordy gals sounds like we should have out own physician and X-ray room.

Deb, those treatments sound painful..why can't someone invent an easier solution.seems cure most times is worse than the illness.

I remember those things, actually I noticed with this car I'm not a good judge of how close I am to cars when backing up, think you can have something nstalled right? Know high end models have the beep. Didn't realize Idaho was so hot. I was surprised when I looked at weather at roadtrip locations that Branson had the hottest temps. I found that interesting.

Omg Marion I misread your posts thought you fell 5'. Into the flower box..lol

LindaKay are you feeling better?

Well tunes are just a blaring, celebrations started at 7pm

Imagine Greg will be here shortly to park his vehicle then he Mel will head over.

Quilted most of the day, have 3/4 done, was going to continue but you know what happens pew hen you are tired so I decided to call it a day.

Darlene emailed me, asked me when I was coming to get all the things she set aside for me, drats thought she had brought all of it over on Tuesday, where oh where am I going to put all of it?

Think my gong out and purchasing more bins for back shed to store it all might help.
Lots od paint, now you all know how badly I need paints!

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

Betty, I want your life, please.....just got thru cleaning 20 bluebacks/kokanee fish that Bob caught today.....he is making up his out of the world smoke brine & in they go for the night, tomorrow the smoker.....we would've liked to have them available when we went to CA & NV....both our kids love them.....not me, I'm not a fishing person & I don't eat it.....can't kill anything even spiders.......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Deb, was just telling Suzanne that the bands are playing, tribute to the Eagles, even my windows are shaking, then I have live earth on watching a bar on bourbon st live, laughing away as the get a little more intoxicated, oooh even saw the table I sat at last year when I got playing around with college/university kids..said now don't I need a life, no energy to go and partake tonight, perhaps tomorrow night which us Clearwater credence revival.

Deb, sounds delicious but I am not a fish eater either. Your husband likes to cook?
Last year when we had the dg reunion at my place we took a boat ride on georgian bay to an island that has a restaurant, all you can eat fish, I did have a few pieces pan fried pickeral and it wasn't bad but not something I'd go looking for.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Geesh, now we have two with broken toes! Ladies it is time for those steel toe boots!
Deb, I have never heard of those fish, will have to look them up!
Betty, I am doing fine, no tummy pain for a few weeks now. I see the specialist on the 15th.

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

Linda Kay, they are land locked salmon....these were some really good size ones today....He got his limit....

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

Kathy, those things I was talking about earlier are called "Curb Feelers"....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Sun is coming out, humidity seems to have lowered, perfect start to our Canada Day long weekend.

Should be out cutting grass and trimming, from the looks of the street lined with cars and the quietness I will give all time to recover from last night's activities.

Darlene called at 6:15a.m. (knows I'm up early) made arrangements that I'd call 1st thing in the morning to pick up a car load of crafty things, only commitment slated for the weekend. 3 whole days, how shall I fill them. Lol
