SWEET INTERRUPTIONS # 260

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hit my head Cindy!! It's so easy for me to forget you have hearing issues!! Sorry gal, not trying to insult you, but I just don't want you to give up on reading. That's one pleasure I have, and when my eyes can no longer help, I'll definitely turn to audio books.
When you get through with your cobble pathway, post a pic, pretty please!

Good morning sistahs!
Too wet for me to do anything outside this morning. Will walk around though with a spade to check the grounds for good 'malleable' spots! Yep, very lucky to have hard gumbo soil here. Got a couple of echinaceas (sp) to transplant along with two 'free' viburnums and thank goodness, these aren't finicky when it comes to soil condition.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Sis! Don't work too hard in the gardens! I just watered all mine!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

No No Jaye, you did not insult me ^_^ I'm not going to give up reading. I just don't read as much as I used too. Last few times I picked up a book I couldn't get past the first page (I get droopy eyed, lol). I like to read when I'm camping, peace and quite and soak up some rays or float in the water (I have a huge air mattress)

I brought home a bunch of broken flower pots. Going to try and create a Fairy Garden or something, lol. Just hope the biggest pot doesn't crack anymore :(

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Can't wait to see what you create Cindy!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Weeellll me too LK, lol. I have too many projects going at once!!!

Trying to get set up for yard sale but I'm not getting any help from ppl who tell "Oh yea I have tables.......so where the heck are they???? My tables are loaded with crafting stuff and I'm NOT cleaning them off. I'll just put everything on the ground.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cindy, your plants are keeping you occupied.. plus your crafts.. and you still find time for a yard sale? Gosh, need something else to do? Come on over and help me plant!!

LK, can you grow daylilies?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, I have tried lilies and iris here. I have had a few planted for about 3 years now, and not one bloom?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Darn, you don't have enough cold for the tubers and bulbs. So sorry LK. I know you got to be exasperated with limited choice.
How are the gingers doing? That can take heat!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

They are growing fine Jaye, just waiting for them to bloom! If not this year, maybe next?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

They normally bud out for me in late July and start blooming in late August.
But as I had said, it took me 3 years from planting to blooming!! Lol!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, hopefully next year I will get some blooms?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Don't give up on them. Once in a while, imitate the monsoon season by flooding the gingers.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh, thanks for the tip Jaye! I take it too much water will not hurt them?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Not at all!! They love water!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Jayegirl, my day starts between 4 and 5 am. I do my housework first, then ck on FB, then when it gets light enough outside I take Harlee for walk, then do stuff outside to beat the heat. I usually stay outside until 2ish depending on heat, then back inside to take a break, chat here or play games on FB, crafts, watch tv, if my back isn't hurting to bad. Most times it is so I usually head for bdroom to watch tv. I didn't have all this space and yard at old house so I got real lazy, here I can't keep up with it all. Good thing I don't have a deadline or company coming, lol.............

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That's good that you don't need anyone to push you to get going! Cindy, I applaud you for you for your diligence in getting things done.

It seems like I spend a lot of time here.. but thanks to my rolling chair.. I roll to the pc.. to the tv.. to the sewing machine.. and to the stove! Lol!!
If only I can train the cats to weed for me outside!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Please pray for Bill........and me.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

sending out prayers to you and bill. is there anything I can do?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

just talked to cookie. bill is in congestive heart failure. he had blood clots move threw the heart in to the lungs. they are thinking there is some kidney damage as well. paramedics said this morning when theypicked him up, that 10 more minutes he would have been dead.
please pray for them. they need all the prayers we can send

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Sending up prayers for Cookie and Bill.

Cindy, I know you have more energy than I've ever had. You get more accomplished in one day than I do in one week. I should get out early before DH gets up. Sometimes I wake up very early, but computer is always calling me.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cookie, tight, tight hugs this time! Prayers said for Bill and you, and thanking God that the paramedics got there fast.
I kid you not, wish I'm there.. at least one of us to be there for you. Bill is such a nice man, God will take care of him, Cookie.

Sis Kathy, keep us updated will you?

We got that new rescue all boarded up in Kel's workshop, Pegi. So, another early morning task for me, checking on her and feeding her. She'd soon be ready to have her kitties! Poor thing.. I hate irresponsible pet owners that discard their pets like old clothes!!
I don't have the "want to" sometimes. Since I quit working, this 'retirment' mode is making me lazeeeeeeee!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending special prayers for both Bill and Cookie. May God bless you both.....

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Special prayers, they are Barb. Heavy duty, as I call them!
I have faith that Bill will be well taken care of by our Lord.

God bless all this morning.
Can't do any gardening today, especially no planting as the moon calendar said it's a bad period for planting, but perfect for weeding! Lol!! Don't feel like weeding, but itching to play in dirt. So maybe I'll just pot and repot. That ain't the same as in planting, right?? They won't be in the ground anyway!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Was out there for a second and this sudden swarm of mosquitoes were already greeting me at the front door!!

Cody!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think they can't find their way back to Louisiana!!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending lots of prayers for you and Bill! Please keep us posted!

OOOhhh how cool Kathy,

There is this place by my mom's house they have peacocks that run loose. There's an Albino Peacock, most beautiful white you ever saw. And it never fails when they are out I never have my camera.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Baskets anyone???? LOL

All kinds of odds and ends of crafting stuff....

Doll heads, wigs and hats...........I used these when I made those cry babies that stand in corners.....sold for $50 a piece

A lot of this stuff I got when I worked at Salvation Army and Goodwill. We got to shop after hours, only if the stuff was on the floor 24 hrs.

My little buddy finally showed up today, but another came along and chased him off...........

Congratulations Mama Kathy! May there be plenty of healthy peacocks to parade in your new gardens... or would they be supper one day?

Cindy, I do hope you'd fetch some $$$ as you have a variety to offer!
Only thing I do now is quilt and chat! Lol!
Lucky you that have a regular visitor. Only one scout showed up and he must have warned the others about our cats!

Hi Jaye, yeah we have enough of them blood sucker here.I hate them buzzing things!!!

Happy birthday Linda Kay.I hope y'all have a blast.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Happy Birthday Linda, have a wonderful time.

Cindy, you sure do have a lot of goodies, but I have enough here to keep me busy forever. Maybe I should have a garage sale. Lots of things I won't be doing any more. So what did I do but decide to gather more things to do mosaic projects. Hope you have lots of luck.

Did a little more painting on my ugly shed. DH said I won't have enough paint so the doors of the shed may be another color. LOL Have to do it when it is still cool out. I had a small jar of paint I got at Lowe's for $1 on the "oops" table a while back. Decided to paint some wooden things I have here and opened the jar to a beautiful blue color. Stirred it up and now I have the nicest light blue paint.

Praying Bill is doing better.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Hoping you have a very nice Birthday, Linda

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Happy Birthday Linda - hope it is a grand one....
My prayers continue for Joyce and Bill.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Thanks for the Birthday wishes. First thing this morning was a walk on the beach, then breakfast in the Holiday Inn lobby. I have lots of pictures, and will post them when I get home tomorrow.
Cookie, sure hope Bill is doing better today!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yes Barb, prayers said for Cookie and Bill and us that need.

Hugs everyone.. great big hugs. Its a blessing when you can wake up to a room with loving people in it.

Shout out to Thunder!! Thank you!! Anything you need, let me know!

Pegi, I will have to look for paints at the Lowe's Ooops section! Got some old wooden fencing boards to paint. As though I should be doing that besides the other garden projects. But I am getting tired of looking at overly weathered boards.

Hey Cody, hope the rains stop for you too! Alex will be a grumpy kid if he can't get out to play!

Woohooo.. I see Karen here!

Happy Birthday LK! Enjoy your wonderful birthday treat.
