Just heard that we can pick up our RV tomorrow!! Bob's gonna get a ride from someone, to the LRT station, and Alberta Parks will have a convoy to take people out.
I don't think I'm gonna drive him tho.
I fell yesterday, on my bad knee (going up the stairs in our church - I thot there was an extra step and there wasn't...) So, on my bad knee with the torn ligament and osteoporosis, I now have a huge swelling which the Dr says is water on the knee. Gave me T3 and anti-inflammatory meds. He says in about 10 days it should be better
Geeze it would be painful if I wasn't so drugged up lol I just woke up from a great nap....... lol

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Happy to say, the next door neighbour is the Pastor who did the service for Leah. He' luckily, ran over when Mom found Leah and strated screaming .. so .. that was kind of a blessing in and of itself. I am thinking there will be help. It's a semi rural area.
Right now the parents are living with the Mom's parents down the basement (which is finished) .. all is well now, however, I would imagine as time goes by the situation could change.
Both parents are on leave from their jobs.

WOW .. WI to TX, that's a few LONG miles, specially with the heat there .. disappointing for sure, but, I guess it's taken in stride, and on to the next show ....

So hot here, and, humid .. in the 90s .. bout to change, or, so we hear .. but, looking at a weather site to the west, it's looking pretty iffy, lotsa green/red/orange in Sask and MB .. moving in an easterly direction, but, northerly as well .. so .. good old Lake Superior will tell the tale.

Toodles

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

OHMIGOSH Susan ... sounds painful .. ice and elevate and try and stay off it .. all ya can do ..
Mind, the meds will help.
Sending you a HUGE healing bubble from Northern Ontario ^_^

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, if it were not for bad luck you would have no luck at all!!!
Glad you are listening to the doctor, taking meds and resting. Am sure Bob can get the rv without you tagging along in pain.

Muggy here as well "M", drats even with the a/c that I have on seems there is no air to breathe.

Tomorrow Darlene is having a Celebration of Life for her dad, been hard going with her mom falling and breaking a hip same day he died and being very ill, she just felt it's something that has to be done before her mom get's worse and before Darlene moves next weekend.

So many changes in her life.

Small communities are the best, always someone around to lend a helping hand..they sure will need the community..you have to wonder really how these things come about, still can't get over there is such despair in 12 year olds

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

It would have been nice to be with him when he retrieves it....... but it's obviously not to be!

Silly, but I just did the 24 hr worth of dishes (Bob was busy taking care of me, and I was busy Being Taken Care Of), and there weren't many, but I'm physically tired from standing at the sink - I was balancing and resting up against the counter, but geeze I'm tired again - could go for a nap.........

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

So, did you go for a nap Susan. I have found that following what my body TELLS me I need is very helpful !!
Standing doing dishes was probably not something your poor knee liked too much .. hope it's feeling better today.
I am so thankful that it's my hip that's my 'cross to bear', and NOT my knee .. our poor knees carry so much of us about ..and can get SO cranky !!

Hope Darlene's day for her Dad goes well .. how is her Mom doing?
Such BIG changes for her, but, she seems to be ready to make them .. I wish her well ..

Gord's BIG 65 BDay today .. was to have been an extravaganza (of sorts), but, with me as I am, it'll just be close family and Chinese Food and a nice cake, which he will LOVE but is not supposed to have LoL

Best get a move on

Hope all are well and enjoying their weekend

Happy birthday Gord! Enjoy the festivities.

Went to Tom, thought I'd enjoy the morning simply walking king st looking into all the boutiques..after an hour or so I gave up that idea, just too hot, muggy and no air.

Will be a hot one at Dar's this afternoon, drop in type event, celebration of life for her dad so I won't be there much more than an hour or two.

Yes, don't think she could take living where she is now that her parents who lived across from her on the lake are no longer there and her home was so large, lots of maintenance to it and the grounds..now that Dar bought a place in Florida and a new home on the river she can just close the door and not worry.

Suzanne, how's it going.

Did bob leave to pick up the rv?

Verona, ON

Happy Birthday Gord!!! Now he gets the 'Old Age' as the people in my rural area used to call it when I was a kid. I personally don't think of 65 as being that old any more. Of course back when I was in my teens 50 seemed ancient ..... oh my how times change. A friend of mine that just turned 80 and has developed RA was telling me he had a heck of a good time getting to be 80 and it is just the pits now he is there. I'm hoping once they get his RA under control he will be a little more upbeat. Chinese sounds wonderful M.

Thought you were a brave soul heading off to wander the shops Betty. I went to Foodland and that was more than enough of an outing for me. It was packed.... wooo hooo for all the tourist based businesses in my area. Not a soul on or in the lake and hasn't been all afternoon. Think maybe people are taking the Weather Warning to mind.

Oouch Susan that sounds like it really hurts. Sending positive thoughts and prayers of comfort. This weather plays heck with my arthritis. My hands are swollen up the size of ball gloves tonight. I couldn't open a jar if my life depended on it.

Take care of yourself everyone and keep cool! Susan try not to fall, OK? We are going to have you have to make a pact with Katie and I - we were on a cycle of falling and made a promise with each other not to do things that would increase our chances of falling ..... seeems to be working. It is just great to have company....... it was a relief for me to know someone else was prone to toppling over too.

Enjoy Gord's BD shindig M.
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sunshine but terribly humid, must go look at your weather forecast Dianne, glad with warnings people are taking heed. Was to Art's celebration of life, was to be held outside but luckily with Dar moving very little furniture in the house we were able to be inside.

How did your gathering go "M"

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Just looked at my desktop and saw it's the 8th of July already, did we not just start the month? lordy before we know it instead of talking rain we'll be talking about the white stuff..brrr

Had a very busy weekend, always enjoy it when I accomplish all and more of my 'to do' list!

Had light rain off/on coming into town this morning, likely same most of the week, big sigh.

How did your weekend go?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Yumpin yiminee .. just logged on only to see my post in this forum from yesterday is gonezo !!
Weird ..

Summarizing .. just in case LoL

BDay party .. was wonderful .. food was great (twice), cake was also yummy.
Weather .. well .. Gord is 'hinting' at turning on the furnace !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cool and damp, overcast. Had a LARGE amount of rain on Saturday.
ME .. anticipating this Wednesday's appt with the orthopedic surgeon !!!! Nervous, but fed up with this discomfort ...

Hard to believe July is cruising along so quickly!!

How ye be Susan? Hoping you say better!

ENjoy your day

~M~

Hope storms pass you by!

Sky opened up in Barrie while t lunch, but nothing like Toronto

http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/dramatic-photos-show-parts-of-toronto-underwater-1.1358806

Calling it. Night!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

"M" watching the weather, doesn't look good for Thunder Bay! Keep safe
See those pictures of Toronto? We got mega rain in Barrie and here but Lordy beat Hazel in one day of rainfall.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Not looking forward to the thunderstorm, but, it's on its way.
Hope Gordon gets home with the dogs before it pours.
Canada is having a wet summer!!

M

Victoria Harbour, ON

Bet our unsurance goes up after all that damage..in the millions!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Home from my appt with the surgeon .. I am on the QUICK list as I am in worse shape than anticipated :-(
The bones your hip is nestled into (the pelvic girdle) is looking a bit more compromised than he likes.
He is amazed I can still make it to the bathroom .. as a matter of fact, so am I .. but I'll be darned if I'm going to let THAT go !!!!
So .. I now sit and wait and THINK !!! Lordie, I am a wreck.
Keep thinking that the pain will soon be gone, but, at what cost .. will I walk again ?

NAP time

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, where did the morning go
had some errands to run to got in late, guess that's where..had a bit of rain on the way in, hot and humid right now!

"M" good news/bad news kind of day. Positive thinking, you WILL walk again, pardon me, you will be runnings circles around those furries before you know it. Easier said than done I'm sure, is a worry but miracles are possible.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

July 22nd @ 8am is the date and time of my surgery.
Off for blood work this morning.

Trying to remain calm and positive.

M

Victoria Harbour, ON

Positive attitude will get you through it "M"

Did you get any of the storms..was nice earlier this morning but changed while driving into Barrie, sky has a mean look to it.

Almost weekend again, guess because of all the humidity and the rain a lot of my garden flowers have rust, not a good year for phlox..

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

No rain .. havin a little bit of a mini heat wave for the next few days.

WELL .. it just wasn't blood work ..it was a FULL pre op assessment .. took 2.5 hours .. xrays, ECG, saw the anesthetist who has talked me into having a spinal .. hope I'm making the right decision with that .. did lotsa waiting (people watching)
Still so nervous ... to the point I feel ill
Probably lay down for a bit this aft ..

How is Melissa ? Said a prayer or 2 for her as I was sitting across from the pre natal clinic, lots of pregnant ladies cruising by.

I STILL haven't downloaded my 'pretties pics' .. soon ^_^

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

still waiting for new on Melissa..long wait, had hoped to have heard something by now..am calling June to see if while I was at lunch she might have heard. Hoping they could do something even after her water broke..we are all so anxious here!
Everyone keep calling everyone, don't want to call Ann's cel, am sure when the time is right she will call.

Don't work yourself into a tizzy "M", won't help, as you say you are making yourself ill, not a good thing.

Am hoping the humidity isn't a factor the next 3 days, would love to finally get the gardens in shape..haven't been in them for over 2 weeks, just tooo humid/hot..

thankfully the a/c I have in the house keeps it cool although I'm looking for cold. I've been emptying the dehumidifier twice a day, so damp.

Greg called this morning to tell me he will get his men to come and put central air in for me, likely one day next week..that alone will bring in a cold front lol

Brought in a sewing project today, shoulders/neck aching like heck, need another tube of voltaren and some heat pads, so haven't done a thing! don't want to take more meds or I'll not be able to drive home tonight.

Sometimes I think doing nothing is worse than doing something don't you think?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

not much going on here - knee's much better
Hugs to all.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

One of those restless nights, will make for a long day! Guess with all the going's on with family/friends mind won't shut down.

Susan, that injury sure put you out of commission, have you been bedridden.what king of trip did bob have getting the rv?

"M"' haven't seen you online much today, the pre op tests must have did you in..

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

not bedridden, just had inflammation taken care of with meds - I got around with a cane - ok now
Bob got the motorhome - no probs - I couldn't go, but he saw lots of devastation

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Sunshine day in my neighborhood, sure hope it's the same in yours..

just to play outside without the humidity is a bonus.

so many things I'd like to see accomplished today and tomorrow..

finish the stained glass lamp for my BIL/boss

make last batch (thought I had did that last weekend) of hypertufa for a base
for a piece that I want to use as a table between 2 loungers

cut and do trimming

yikes there goes Saturday and Sunday lol

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Not sure what kind of a day it will be weather wise here, maybe overcast with some humidity.
Air conditioning didn't cycle on til 3:30 PM yesterday, ran off and on til 10pm.

Going to my doc's walk in clinic today for yet another pre op assessment. It's law that I be seen by my family physician prior to surgery. Well, he's away. Ought to be interesting.

Good to see you posting Susan, great news re your knee too :)

Betty, enjoy your weekend, lots to accomplish.

Dang me! There's a mosquito in here, driving me batty!!

M

Victoria Harbour, ON

Don't overdo "M", they sure make you jump hoops now don't they.

Sunny, not humid, at least for now, leaving for the stained glass studio, pick up steaks then cut grass

Been on the telephone all morning, updates/updates,

Adison Marie 1 lb. 10 oz and Alexandro Michael 1 lb 13oz are still with us this morning but are fighting to hold on..may they have the strength..hoping our prayers are answered

niece, AudreyRose, 1 year old in May is now getting an eeg, still having seizures so prayers needed there

Darlene, all the stress I think is starting to get to her, will go spend time with her next week and help out where I can

other than that, is a fine day to be alive!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Beautiful names for the babes, my prayers remain with them and sweet AudreyRose.

I am done in .. thought the visit today would be in and out .. BUT .. this doc too found a MURMUR in my heart and, has pushed the panic button (ever so lightly) .. i MUST have an echocardiogram at the local hospital THIS coming week .. he has sent the paperwork in ..
Ya know.. I have about had it !!
This growing old is for the flippin birds !!

Think I need a nap !

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

"M" would be overwhelming for sure..likely Gord and Lorna re telling you to take deep breaths. Just keep telling yourself, soon it will be over and you will be out walking the furries and no in pain.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

MANY deep breaths Betty, and, talking to myself, albeit softly.
Will call the Diagnostic Imaging dept tomorrow morning to see when I can get in for the 'echocardiogram', once that's done and read, and I hear NOTHING, I will feel better.

Gord did a SPECTACULAR job with the stir fry .. I was right there telling him when to add whatever .. he was quite proud of himself too.

Have been invited to a 25th anniversary party next Saturday .. one of Gord's cousins , we'll see if I can make it, it's outside, I think it'll keep my mind off 'things'.

Hope everyone is doing well ...

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

He's getting to be quite the cook "M"' me thinks you might just lose your job in the kitchen.

It's hard to believe, Suzanne just called and said her daughter was told it could take up to 6 weeks for results, could that be so? Longer wait for results vs having the test done.

Going to the 25th will give you something to look forward to.

Playing with foiling of stained glass lamp, should take a break and make a plate from yesterday's left overs. I think I'll be eating left overs all week. Lol

Turned off a/c, was enjoying the breeze, just came upstairs and Lordy it's hot..should close everything up again to cool things.

Checked the weather network and where I thought we were getting rain we'll now get overcast skies..want rain, feel badly my grass is so burnt, used to lush green.

Cooked for at least ten and there is only me!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

We'll see how the week plays out Betty re the anniversary party,
Just got off the phone with diagnostic imaging, where I'll go to have the echocardiogram, even though I tried to impress upon her the fact that my surgery is next Monday, she gave me a date for this Friday at 1015pm!
Seeing that it's the weekend, who would read it?
Will call my surgeon's office to see if this is considered acceptable.

Suzanne's daughter must be frantic. Although I tend to think if something were seriously amiss they would call
I'd hope so anyway.

Hope your leftovers were yummy. Gordon was quite pleased with how the stir fry turned out, but I think he's patiently waiting for my recovery.

Rained here most of the night. The Robins are chirping away outside, happy to have worms. Our grass is not burned. Going to need cutting soon.

Enjoy your day

M

Victoria Harbour, ON

Going to be hot/humid-advisory for both

just got a call re Ann's twins..

Alexandra had to have a blood transfusion last night, has infection and they don't know from where

Alexandro's heart stopped a few times, they were able to revive him..

Today is a crucial step in their survial, prayers please..we need that Miracle!

"M" definately needs to be sooner..know these people are overworked but you need it before the operation..drats hope a call to your doctor can help move it forward.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

OMG! Prayers for the babes fer sure Betty ..

I rattled a few cages, and, I now go for 9:15AM Wednesday ^_^
However, the surgeon's nurse felt that if the anesthetist who found the murmur on Thursday, had been concerned, HE would have pushed the panic button re the echocardiogram.
But, we're all playing it safe ..
Wednesday will be a busy day for me .. not only will be have to be at the hospital in the morning, but, that's also the day I am to attend a physio info session at 2pm .. we live about 20 minutes from the hospital, so, other than the parking, no big deal ..

Humidity is creeping in ...

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad you got it changed "M"

Will be such a relief for you to have it behind you..

Wouldn't you know, heat/humidity advisory and the mall's air conditioning went down.

Tummy is just churning, every time the telephone rings I hate to answer..

Ann has been such a rock to everyone, am sure once all is said and done it will be 'breakdown' time for her!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Almost don't want to ask how the babies are, I continue to keep them and their parents and Ann in my thoughts and prayers.

Whew... Humidity is nauseating, cannot grasp how someone could ever consider leaving a child or an animal in a closed vehicle... Makes absolutely no sense to me.

Lorna and Gordon left early this morning to go grocery shopping and get gas, made it home in 2 hours, great timing.

Susan, are you doing anymore camping? How's the job hunt going?

ViAnn,are you back from holiday?

Starting a new book today. Was actually sad to have finished the last one yesterday It was a wonderful read, this new novel is by the same author, Kate Morton.

That said, off I go to start the book.

:)

M

Victoria Harbour, ON

"M" a few malls in the city have hired guards to meet incoming vehicles to see if they have animals and/or children in the vehicle to give a warning re heat advisory..some people just don't learn.

Gas here was $1.21 on Friday when I filled up, this morning $134.9, yikes, getting the vacationers..glad I filled up, hopefully it will go down a tad before the weekend.

Know USA members complain about their gas but for me it's always a treat when I cross the border and fill up.

Enjoy your book, too hot to sit out and read so prop yourself up in bed and enjoy!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Singing happy birthday ViAnn, hope it's been filled with sunshine..would have baked a cake but it's ohhh so hot!

All kidding aside, Happy Birthday

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ANN ^_^

Hope you have a splendiferous day, and, an awesome year !!!

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I went to aquafit, played on the computer and got my hairs cut. Went to the church coffee group but there were only 2 of us there. Stopped at Costco on the way home. Very, very hot here - about 32 with a humidex of around 40.

Have put up 2 albums of pics on FB. These links should allow you to view them even if not a member.

A 3rd album will be forthcoming. We got home late on the 10th and I hit the ground running as one of the local music festivals had started on the 4th. It's now finished and the next doesn't start until the 25th.
