drats, drats and more drats..is it the weather, the food?? evil vibes????
My girlfriend e-mailed me saying she had to go to Guelph, couldn't meet up with me Saturday, I sent her a reply asking if it was business, her new job??? got this reply!
"No unfortunately family Kristen sure doesn't have the luck she deserves!! The fellow she was living with she caught him messing around on the on line dating websites -- last night (she's been having some issues with him) so left it all open on the computer he went balastic on her he hit her twice she called the cops they remooved him and he can't come back in the house without a police escort. Kris is fine the girls were woken by him screaming and witnessed the assault she took the kids and dog to her dads and is there now. She was going to leave the kids there and head back to the house to pack his things and put them in the garage, told her to wait until I arrive, just in case. Never a dull moment around here that's for sure! "
Where's the moon at? I thought the full moon was over Yes I am a believer - ask anyone who works as a cop, nurse, EMS, behavioural teacher, anyone in that kind of profession.
I am so sorry for Kristen and her DDs. No should have to experience being hit or watching someone be hit.
Okay, you're going to know how far back it was when I started reading....hope you remember about this stuff!
I almost had a tree frog…… :o( You are taking good care of him aren’t you, Betty??? (Love that picture!!)
RU was fun. Started out a little chilly, but warmed up. Then it was sweater on, sweater off, sweater on, sweater off….geez..PICK ONE! Didn’t mean to come home with any plants from the RU. I did get 5 tomato plants. Then we stopped at Tobasco’s house and I got 2 siberian iris that are a mauve and white. I only had the deep purple ones. Gosh…seems like I had other stuff I planted from there, too…can’t remember.
Betty, you certainly got a LOT of neat vessels for mushroom making. NOW you think of it! ;o)
Susan, is your mom planning on going to jury duty?? What a hoot!
Sure wish I could find my camera charger so I could take some pictures of my gardens. They have changed so much in the last two years. The tree that was planted in honor of Marion and memory of Ross bloomed this year for the first time. I think it’s been planted 5 years. Is that right, Marion? It’s a kousa dogwood. Also blooming now is my new tree the variegated weeping dogwood. Can’t see the little white blooms very well, but they’re there!
Betty, meant to tell you how beautiful the pond turned out. You should be so proud! Glad you got your waders. I’m sure it was much better than before. Did you glue the water feature thingy?
Debbie, I’m so sorry you are so sick. Wish I could be there and bring you a cup of tea and some toast. Know you probably just want to sleep. Prayers for your healing quickly…
Betty, oh my dear girl. I am so praying for you and Noah and Greg and Mel, too. Mary is right, be so thankful that he called the help line and then told Mel. Hopefully he can find the right line and get back to us!
Bev, so sorry for the troubles your son and DIL are having right now. Prayers for you all as well.
I’m trying to hurry reading all through to see if Ann’s grandbabies are still with us. Having prayers flying skyward!
Yikes, lil injun! Leaves of 3, leave them be!!! For sure poison ivy!
Hope Kristen doesn’t forgive and forget. Once a hitter, always a hitter!
I found 2 rhubarb plants at the nursery today. On special for $1. They only had 1 leaf each, but they’ll grow, right??? Now if I only had some sheep s**t! ;o)
Sorry to be so gabby.....
Betty, so sorry to hear of your friend and the abuse! I agree, no one needs to go through that. Glad she called the cops. Make sure she goes through the court and gets a restraining order on him, and I pray she filed charges against him!
Hey Joyce, sounds like our keeping busy. Hurry and find that charger, so we can see all your pretties!
I'm looking!!!!
Judy, I didn't see where anyone responded about the picture...it is poison ivy. I know as I am recovering from getting into some recently and what a mess my hands are now.
Cookie, I think it is about 5 years....would love to see pictures.
Gotta run, really bad lightening and thunder moving very close.
Joyce, you should have taken him with you, all he is doing since you left is cry...the truth!! Driving me bonkers....
Not done with the pond, still have a few trips to Ann's for the rest of the rock..am hoping no news is good news..things don't happen quickly, imagine I will have h times herself.news tomorrow.Joyce, seeing she thought she would never be a grandma then getting news of twins, now boy and girl I'm with you praying as it would be her breaking point I'm sure, you experts her excitement first hand, wasn't she just on a high.
As for Rita's daughter, she just got her engineering degree in. Both civil and for the lord of me can't remember the other..town about 200 miles away from her is looking for someone with just her credentials, sure hope she gets the job and finds a home for her and the girls..Rita is beside herself, she is going through rough times herself, add this to her plate and it's difficult.
Thought Noah would be home by now, not to worry, it's Melanie's birthday and they were off for supper..asked me to go bought thought it would be nice for them to be just the 4 of them.
Joyce, they will grow, have to go see Ken and Gail for some of their sheep manure and pack it in flat rate boxes and get it to you..lol
You can do it girl, pray to st Anthony, worked when we dis it for the glue.
Moonbeam?
Thank you Marion Joycet and Betty....man ya cant believe this is @##$%&-e v e r y where!
Dianne totally agree with you.... Mom was a Psychiatric nurse and she always said admissions were UP during a FULL MOON!
HUGS
Mary
Morning,
Although we had rain last night it looks as though the sun will come out today!
Just did my walk around the gardens, can't believe how they are growing in leaps and bounds, peonies should have blooms for the weekend.
Joyce did 4 sets of mushrooms, Mel got a set for her bridal, will meet up with Sharon at some point and give her hers, Julie will get a set, her birthday was last month, bought her a bracelet but I will put it away for Christmas, as well, June dropped in Monday night and she went home with a set. Dug 3 stem hikes in the driveway and poured them, tonight I will see how well they have turned out and if ok will dig more and like you will put them aside incase I would like to do more. Again, that's for the instructions, we all enjoyed.
Judy if it's all over could it not be a vine? My poison ivy doesn't form a vine?
Speaking of vines, on my right going out on back deck the vine is growing and covering the entire side of the screen, soon I will feel I'm secluded from the world.
Well today is payday, tomorrow is a stay at home day..saying 3 days of rain coming tomorrow so it will have to be a sew/sew weekend.
Know tonight what I will be doing, drats, Darlene is cleaning her house so that when she moves to her new place she will only have essentials and no clutter..that being said, guess who got about 100 paints who doesn't need them, 20 or so large canvas, 10 candle blocks (along with candles and wreaths) like we did a few crafts ago, turntables, books, palette pads etc sooo have to find a home for them.
Time to leave for work, know to get out of the washroom early, boys are worse than girls..made sure Noah ate something, gave him lunch $$$ and we are both ready to take on the day.
Will hopefully get update from Ann..
Gab in a bit
Oh no, Betty! You didn't say it was Rita's daughter...dang. Feel so bad. Hope this is the best thing that ever happened to her in hindsight.
Poison Ivy does vine. We used to have some with stems an inch thick going up a tree. Our handyman doesn't get it so he pulled it all down. I have little P/I seedlings everywhere!! Not sure if I should take the time to pull them or just get out the trusty roundup!
Well, one of my cleaning customers called me yesterday and said her daughter was just in a panic about her house. Have out of town people coming and she needs some cleaning done TODAY! So being as I'm crazy I told her I'd come shortly after noon to do it. What was I thinking????? I'm cleaning a regular from 9-12! I'll be dead on my feet tonight for sure.
Got 18 tomato plants and zuchinni and yellow squash in the garden last night. Didn't come in until 9:30. Sigh...I need a vacation to Canada! ^_^
Looks like poison ivy from the leaves Judy...Kinda hard to make out the flowers. Check out this link. http://landscaping.about.com/od/galleryoflandscapephotos/ig/Pictures-of-Poison-Ivy/
yes, Joyce, we were just saying finally how Rita looked like a ton of brick came off her shoulders and now this!Always worth being tired is you get $$$ to spend on your gardens. I'm still debating wether or not to pik up all my planters tonight at that little garden center..weather is just so strange might still have frost.
Had 2 calls this morning as I came in wanting info on Melissa and the babies but still have not heard from Ann..drats, should have her cel # hmm wonder if Dar has it.
Vines or not (lol) Judy had best stay away from that area.
I will spray mine along the back bush, about the only place I've seen it so far
Morning,
Thank you all for the well wishes...doing better and behaving (which is hard).
Of course DD had to get on board and is sick also. She is supposed to have
her tonsil surgery next Friday....so now worried.
Judy, our poison ivy was a vine....grew up my rose and into trees in the back way. What
a mess. Be careful. Love all the pictures and so happy Skittles is doing better.
Joyce, sounds like you had just a wonderful time at Betty's. I know she wore you all
out...but the fun kind.
DH is home today, took my car to get inspected and is going away with his parents
and family for a few days.....right past your place Betty. Traveling to Michigan for a
memorial service for an Aunt that passed away last October. This is the first time
her family has had "openings" to do a Memorial. Sad.
Well, just wanted to wave.....send hugs...miss you all but am trying to keep up reading.
Debbie
(((((((((Betty)))))))))) bless u for taking in Noah - 15yo? yeah, that's an emotional age, and my DD was 15 when I took her to the psych ward in emerg, to talk to someone re: her suicidal thoughts. We sat there for 6 hours and she kept saying "I'm tired.... can't we go home?" I told her "no, you're in trouble, and we will see someone to get you the help you need!" I was adamant...... good ole Tough Love, eh? It's said that 'if they're talking about it, they don't want to do it, just want the attention'. This is not a bad thing - love is never bad. Bless you, Betty, for taking Noah in.
Dianne - so glad the dizziness is dissipating.
Judy - don't mess with anything that "may" be poison ivy........
Joyce - no JD for my mom - one of my sisters will be calling them to say "no way!" for reasons of health. No, her health isn't bad, just that she's shaky at her age and walks with a walker all the time.
We're going camping again on June 16 to 21 - looking forward to it!
Raining today - glad Bob fixed the roof where our home was leaking. When we came home the floor had buckled a bit and he's now pulled up some of the parquet flooring to get to the swelled sub floor. He put that gooey black stuff on the roof and it seems to have helped cuz BOY did it ever Rain yesterday and the day before...... yikes! sheets, tons, and more than I would go out in!!
Debbie - cross-posted lol
Glad to hear ur feeling better - and "Behaving"? Didja know that there are TWO ways to behave.... Well, and Badly.... not gonna ask u which one you're doing LOL
Hope you get even better health....... !!!
Susan...it is borderline if you ask DH. Borderline badly! With temps outside and my "body temp" I am not a happy camper.
He is going to put the AC in the window for me since will be gone few days and it is getting even hotter this weekend.
Any job interview news?
So nice seeing you post Debbie, DH should have made a little detour and you could have spent a few days with me, would mother you up for sure..glad you are feeling a titch better. Yikes, might have to put off tonsils for a bit longer, am sure she wouldn't mind that.
If Bob keeps this up Susan you will have a brand new home..don't send rain my way.
No call from Suzanne so guess she is in a sound sleep, better at home than here.
OMG too funny, most of you know the problems I've had with my name these past few years...well, LeeAnn called, said she was doing payroll today seeing as Cindy is on her honeymoon. Asked me for my account number as she couldn't find it on Cindy's desktop, no problem there..asked me what name my account is under..big trouble there have no clue, could be under Elizabeth, or Betty or Bessie and then find a last name, Pauze, or Roper, or Lapensee, mix match any of them and we might find the right one.
Should really start the process of changing everything to Betty Pauze..on my list of to do for June..oops best I not do it till after my trip to St.Louis/Branson/New Orleans and Nashville, JUST incase they take my passport away or all documentation doesn't match..what a mess.
Debbie - when I was one of 2, the other person got chosen for the job.
No other news - haven't heard about the floater position at the U of C.
Betty - awwwwwwww is that a stuffed bear she's nuzzled into?
yes, Sharon bought it for her seeing as she has no other sibblings..sense of security
Good Morning!
Debbie, lol on the beinghave!! Safe trip to Paul. It's nice they are having this time to remember his Aunt.
Also glad your feeling a little better, yep just take it easy and read, and I hope your drinking lots of water too...Have you had pneumonia before? Dh had it many years ago and the doc said he would be succestable to it for the rest of his life! Yikes, just what you wanted to hear, sorry.
Betty, I was so sorry to hear about Anne's Daughter. My goodness, I hope everything is ok and will keep her and the babies in my prayers..Please wrap your arms around Anne for me.
Awe, your sister's new baby is so precious!! Is she keeping it?
You sure have a had some pretty rough happenings around you and I hope things settle down for the good.
Marion, yikes, so sorry you got the P.I...I sure hope it doesn't spread and you can get rid of it pretty quick. I still can't believe my yard is literally infested with the stuff!!..I guess I am just in shock over it, lol.
Thank you all on the thoughts, yikes I've tried for many hours now, giving it my worst scowling look, wishing it would just curl up and die! Like the ferocious cat that continues to stalk my feathered friends and gardens, and so does this evil thing growing and crawling everywhere!! And so sighing in defeat, I now have to resort to Murderalizing the very plant i've allowed to grace my gardens.Yep, I admit, I have seen those seeds and thought nothing of them. Last night while chatting up with Moonie, I discovered 2 rather mature and pretty, vines. Thank you for that site Moon, my Gawd, i'm one heck of gardener, they're a beautiful healthy plant, with flowers and all!! And so my plot must move forward...first gather the stuff I'll need to cover myself up with...find the brown waste bags to dispose of the guilty plants, after I sufficate them in plastic bags...muwaahhaha.
-Eye brow raise_
Or maybe Sunshine can take her handy man on a road trip and visit a sistah!!
Lol Judy, I'm so like you, have no clue as to what plant is what, just so long as it looks pretty and survives I love it. When Sailor was here she'd be walking through poison ivy on a damp day, I'd pet her and yikes I get it.
Noah showed me his leg, what a mess, dried up now but must have been itchy..that time of year I guess.
Will give Ann a hug from you, lordy, one of us should have heard news by now..not a good sign.
Judy, my hands are almost clear now but I had to dispose of 2 pair of gardening gloves that I had been using when I got into the poison ivy. Thank goodness I have more pairs. I did a walk around the "estate" and shared some elexir of round up on the offending plants. You mentioned blooms.....you have blooms on yours? I have never seen it bloom.....or maybe I miss read the statement. Do be careful as it can be a serious problem.
Betty, I am hoping they "saw" her cervix started to dilate...and rushed her for a circlauge (sp?). The stitch it closed to keep babies in.
BUT very common with twins...even early on. Usually require bed tilted/feet up....to keep pressure off cervix while pregnant. Scary..but workable.
My SIL had a week cervix due to health problems at age 20...and had to have this done both pregnancies.
Fingers and toes crossed it is this...and nothing else. Hope you can find out.
Judy, I am usually susceptible to bronchitis, have had inhaler and needed nebulizer treatments. Had pneumonia as a baby and also
when my Mom was sick....said it was "walking pneumonia" then. I don't know what the difference is....but I don't like either one.
Heat and humidity are horrible....although all windows open and loving the birds singing. So so pretty.
hubs has been having the dizzies too.
yesterday we went to the Dr. they did an ekg..that was fine. took blood pressure, siting, standing and laying down, no problems there...have some more testing in the works..... appt today with neurologist, for a nerve conduction test...another test Friday.? cant think of what it is called at the moment?! never heard of it before, you have to wear some kind of goggles, and sit and turn head back and forth, up and down. stand and do movements. read things that pop up in the goggles?? somehow measures nerves in your eyes / brain....hubs says he feel like his eyes are going crazy fast from side to side, and that is making him feel ill / dizzy / unbalanced????
son has some issues going on, we have an appt for him on Monday. recurring issues, probably needs to go back on some meds for awhile....we will see. he has always HATED having to take any meds, but he has grown considerably , and recognizes that he needs some "help" to get through this.
I am hoping to get some sewing time in, in between appts tomorrow and Monday.
life goes on
going to copy this and post in a few places, if I am not around know that I am busy with my guys...
Update on Melissa
Cervix keeps opening..Melissa is on complete bed rest..hoping to get at least 5 more weeks into the pregnancy.
Because Melissa just rented out her condo they will be without a place to live..she and better half were to look for a place to move to this week. Ann will stay until Sunday and go look at places in Melissa's place. Melissa is resigned to having mom find a place along with her better half.
So it's rest/rest and more rest.
Big sigh going up here when I read about Melissa. I know she has a long row ahead of her but she has all of praying for her - that's gotta help.
Threw my hands up in despair this morning and finally had to admit the starting of a tempermental lawn mower and the commercial weed wacker were too much for me. Went into the village and bought an electric lawn mower and ordered an electric lawn trimmer. Lawn looks good although Debbie has suggested I need goats. While I was there some annuals and 2 gorgeous hanging baskets called my name and after initially ignoring the repeated calling I relented and bought them.
Oh Thunder I am so sorry your DH has the dizzies. Wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. Makes you feel so out of control and powerless. Sending positive thoughts and prayers for your DH and DS.
So Betty how goes the journey with Noah?
Judy be careful. Listen to Marion. It can spread ALL over you if you are not careful.
Hot and humid here. Going to take a shower as I can't stand myself after working outside most of the day. Diesel is zonked - this supervising is a hard job.
Dianne
Glad Melissa has not lost the twins. Hopefully they have done everything that needs to be done. So glad that Ann is there to help. I know she must be worried sick. Hugs for her from me, too.
I was telling Sherry about all that is happening in your life right now Betty, and she said if anyone can handle all of it she knows it's you. She said I never met such a "ball of fire" before! Thought that described you to a tee! ^_^
I survived the two cleaning jobs today. Now as soon as I post this I'm headed for the garden. Still have cucumbers to plant and corn. Hope the corn is good. Bought it last year. I always like to plant "How Sweet It Is" and my nursery where I buy it was sold out. Should have got it before I went to Canada, just didn't think of it. So I'll plant what I've got and hope for the best. Oh yeah, got some peppers to get in the ground, too. Got some "Better Bell" and some "Fooled You". Anxious to try the Fooled You cause it is a jalapeno with absolutely NO heat! We shall see. DH doesn't like hot stuff, so if it works it will be great!
Hugs and prayers to and for all!
Is extremely humid here as well..had both Noah's working, I cut the grass just incase the weather Liars aren't lying..it rumbling like crazy and just started to rain, sun shower right now but there is a weather advisory.
Noah, Mel and Greg with with counsellor this morning, didn't pry, just asked Noah how it went and he said 'good'
He asked if he could go for a bike ride, I said yes but what time will you be back, he said I won't be long, nope what time will you be back as Chinese will be ready (good old M&M. Lol) so we shall see.
To give an update would be difficult as he's the same Noah, good nature, joking, polite????
Dianne, proud of you knowing how difficult these maintenance equipment are to start..just about does me in with the weeder but I bought a new one and much easier to start.
Laughing at Diesel, same with my kitties, supervising is all they do and half the time they are laying right in the path of where I'm going.
Put some fish in the small pond tonight, that brought Missy to attention, yikes storm is approaching, thunder getting much louder..
Speaking of Thunder, prayers for you men as well..
Joyce the girls are adorable, can see why they are your friends, tell Sherri thanks, what a lovely compliment.
Wonder how Deb is doing??
Just had an email from Ann, she said Melissa is resting, back home and in bed..as soon as she gets another 5 weeks in they will hospitalize her till babies are born..so let's hope. I spent 6 months in hospital with Greg and its no fun..
Ohh Joyce, almost lost a batch of mushrooms, was around 7 when I poured them last night so thought I had plenty of time to distress, guess with them ut in the sun and it being 88 today they dried a lot quicker..took mega muscles to get some distressing in them, lucky I didn't wait longer.
Best I put supper in the oven, different having to make sure someone eats
Been there...done that! I've been meaning to ask, but know what the answer probably is since you haven't said. Did you ever get the stems out of the vases in the basement?
I found a floatie thingie for swimming that has a big inside diameter. It's probably 2 1/2 inches. If it works, I can make the same height stems as the vases were and get three out of the floatie. I got it at the dollar store and paid $2 or 3, can't remember, just know it wasn't a dollar!
I'm out of portland, so I won't be trying anything until I get another 94 pounds of that!
They had a big bag of vermiculite at the nursery and it was $39. Guess I'll be sticking to my $17 perlite!!!
Glad Melissa made it home okay. Sure hope all goes well.
Tried everything, even Greg as strong as the is couldn't..was wearing my sad face when I did what had to be done. Did look at those flaties but ones I saw wouldn't do big stems..I'm hoping I can con Greg into making me something..
You should have talked me out of buying all those bags of bags of Portland, have mushroom sets coming out of the yung yang. Lol but by end of week most will have homes.
The holes I dug in the driveway worked well, need to be about 3 or 4 inches deeper..I'm not strong enough, rock bottom and can't get through. You know me with making holes in my drive, love diggin for projects
Glad to hear the news about Melissa. Keeping all of you in my prayers.....
Betty I am just so mad at myself that I cannot get that ^%#$^ weed wacker going. It is a commercial type so is large and perfect for what I have to go through. My arthritis has advanced so much in my hands and shoulders this year that I just can't get it to catch. Love the lawn mower though. Nice and light which is a delight on the hill I have to mow.
We aren't under the weather watch yet but my joints tell me it will rain. It is actually hot here but there is a nice breeze off of the lake.
Joyce I need you to live close to me. I need a cleaning lady badly. Pay well and tip very well. My cleaning lady has decided not to come back after maternity leave. She is actually finding motherhood much more difficult not at all what she thought it would be, so no more cleaning for her. Finding someone who wants to work in my area is rarer than hen's teeth.. Look at you out there planting after a full day of hard work. You go!
Dinner sounds good Betty. I remembered to nuke a VH Steamer bowl. Lots of times I forget and then wonder why I am starving at 11 pm.
Barb how are you doing in this weather? Making it hard for you to breathe? How's Norm feeling these days?
LK what are you up to this week? Glad to read your son lives in a hilly area.I was thinking about you when that storm hit. Who stays with Luna when you go away or does she travel with you? Diesel hopped into the Tang today but as soon as I started that big motor he hopped right out. One of our neighbour's dogs used to run out to the lane if he heard the Tang coming. He would hop in, ride down the lane a bit, hop out and trot home.
Hope Noah doesn't disappoint you by being late Betty.
He arrived 5 minutes early, sweating like crazy..it says it's 86 feels like 99
Actually put a/c on in his bedroom, I'll get the drift of cold air.
Time to eat and Melanie called, she came to pick him up so he could come back on his pocked motorcycle and he got his cel back..guess these things were a result of their meeting today.
Barb I bought the party pack at m &m's, 5 different dishes and bought their rice..only cooked 1/2 and Noah says there is enough for a family.
You will have to start the car from time to time so that Diesel gets used to it..how grand he will look sitting there with wind blowing through his hair.lol
Luna stays in the kennel when we travel. I don't like putting her in the kennel, but with us being outside for the baseball game, I did not want to leave her in the truck any length of time, so we put her in the kennel for a few days.
I am not doing much, as my diverticulitis has flared up again. I had an appointment this afternoon but turned around and came back home, as the Dr. Got called out for an emergency. I have to wait till Tuesday now to see him, so I am taking vicadin, and just chilling on the sofa.
