Give Julie a day or so. She knows you better than that. Then give her a call and find out. If she is still upset, then apologize saying you didn't think but not everyone has kids young like you did!! I think it will blow over okay......The boys truly are growing like weeds.
We had a nice day with Stacy and the boys and she gave me a lovely hydrangea. I must try to get a picture. Thinking I will keep it in a pot as we have found out that the builder used this lot for a lot of constuction dumping and the trees on it are slowly dying. We have had two major sinkholes (about two feet across) and now we know why!!.. The stumps he buried are rotting and the earth above them sinks.....Glad we only rent here and didn't buy it.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh look at that tan Betty! Looking good!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone, hope you all had a great week end. Betty, I hope you can work things out with Julie! Funny how some can takes a comment so personally!
Barb, Wow, I would be worried about a yard like that! We have seen a lot of stories in the news lately about sinkholes. Be careful please?
We had a wonderful week end here with the kids. I told Andy he made this Grandma very happy when they decided to show up! Dylan having his first marshmallow peep!
And the kids on the front porch when they found the magic jelly beans that grew!
20 minutes after they left last night, we had about 30 minutes of quarter size hail and rain. We needed the rain, but could have done without the darn hail!

Blizzard going on..yuk..who sent the snow, Dianne was it you or was it Barb??

Forgot to mention that yesterday Braedon was having a difficult time, his friend both in class and in the band died in a fire last week. Both father and son got out, mom had a stroke the year before and didn't get out so both father and son went back in to get her and the 3 perished. What news for the son who was away at college, he's the only one left in the family and is 18..

Lyndonville, NY

Oh Betty, that is so so sad. Braedon looks so much like Kyle, and the boys are growing so fast.

Look at little Dylan, remember waiting and asking "is he here yet?" and growing so fast.

Saw my new Great Nephew last week, he is a cutie. Baby Max

Shannon is off to get her blood work and Vit. B shot. Starts work back at Target tonight, just short shifts but should help
with some of her bills.

No snow, but wind is howling. Have to go rescue garbage cans......

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Think Braedon with glasses makes him resemble Kyle..

Wish there were young ones in my family such as you have LindaKay and Debbie..makes special occassions that much more enjoyable.

Let's hope Shannon doesn't overdo..shots should help right?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear they are holding the job for her!

Bety, that is so sad to hear they went back in to rescue her, and they all perished, so sad!

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

Wow, such sad news.....Betty, I think Barb's comment is true.....We all say things that others take the wrong way and never intend it to be taken that way....I'm sorry, there was a chill to the visit....Very Good News for Shannon ! Just so she doesn't overdo ... Bob's going fishing today & I'm doing the monthly bills right now....gotta get some pics taken of my postcards......Katie is on boiled rice & bits of UD wet Science Diet for a bit, she was throwing up yesterday....Then we had some men up to grade parts of our driveway & Gus got so upset barking & carrying on that he threw up too so he had the same thing as Katie for his dinner and his breakfast.....he's so miserable with this darn cone on his head, he can't see between that & his right eye sewn shut so he stops walking and I run into him....I know one of us is going to be injured before this is all over......hoping to get some beets in the ground later in the afternooon.....always so many things to be done......Each of you have a wonderful day !

Verona, ON

Betty I am sorry to tell you that not only did the father and mother die but both of their sons living at home perished as well. They were all found in 1 room. How terrible for the 24 yr old son who was away at university this weekend. His whole family - gone! My heart just aches for him.
D

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, I must have misunderstood Braedon, I thought only 1 son perished..they had the candlelight vigil the other night, they had been talking at the mall the night before as both were to go to New York City at the end of the month re band.. Terrible, terrible!

As for Julie, sent Jeff a thank you for the lovely meal and all the effort Julie put into it..think sometimes when one lives alone they start to enjoy the experience of not worrying about what they do, what they say..just get real comforatable with themselves..almost tempted to go that way.

Got really cold in the office, temps must be dropping..said not a great accumulation of snow but think they might be wrong.

Deb, looking forward to seeing your photo's..yuk, bills aren't the best way to start a Monday morning..speaking of banking..checked my account..my OMERS Pension dropped by $485.00, my old age is suppose to pick up the difference..problem with that is the minus came out before end of month so am short this month in my account..drats, that was almost 1/2 my new sewing machine for quilting..ah well, could be worse..
When does Gus get get the cone off? Ohhh you'll be cooking fish tonight..what is he fishing for??

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

He's fishing for Kokanee.....some call them BlueBacks......Gussie is in the cone for two weeks so will get it off the middle of April....That's so heartbreaking about that family.....overwhelming for the remaining son, Terrible....my girlfriend just lost her husband, her son & his son, Pat's grandson, in a traffic accident in Hawaii.....The husband was driving and experienced a health issue which caused him to cross the road & hit another vehicle with two in it head on.....all perished....5 people.....My heart hurts for these people.....sorry to learn of the money shortage, Betty....seems it's always one thing or another.....

mulege, Mexico

I'm so sorry to hear of the people wo died in a Fire. How awful for their remianing son.

I'm almost ready to go. Spent all day yesterday preparing dog food to make tis a good semi-vacation for Tony.

Will go slowly and keep you posted as I can. Should be in Chula Vista tomorrow or Wednesday.

I'm remembering my agreemen with Dianne. Slow and carffeul.

Travel safe Katie and make sure you rest.

Sorry to hear of so many tragedies and losses, we had a family loose their house yesterday ...but thankfully no one injured.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Drive safely Katie.
Deb, I have never heard of those fish, will have to look them up.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I just read they are a type of sockeye salmon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

had never heard of the fish either..hmmm salmon..not a fish person but do eat salmon, just got to be in cans..lol

Suzanne is here making a list of every possible restaurant..guess we get to pick one a day to have a little variety..wouldn't you know nothing is appealing to me..almost feel like a shoe is ready to drop again..terrible feeling

Katie, drive safe and we'll keep watching that you arrive safely.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Afternoon. Sadly so many tragedies....it seems as we broaden our contacts we hear of so many sad things. That is why I treasure all the happy events in my on-line friends lives.

Glad to see you all had a nice Easter....we had 8 kids, from 2 to 18 here Saturday, Grands, step-grands and soon to be new step grands....happy faces chasing around for Easter eggs and playing games....nothing more beautiful than smiling faces and children laughing.

Continued good thoughts for Shannon, Debbie.

Safe travels Katie.

Warm thoughts for sunshine and warmer weather for all you Northern folks.

The Aussie grands are keeping us hopping....and grinning.

Good thoughts for you all.

Big smile on my face as I see the smiles in the photo's..imagine you are smilling as well (from ear to ear)..
enjoy your time with them! How long will they be with you? Sure hope it's a sunshine day in your neighborhood.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Oh absolutely smiling....DD and SIL are off for a couple days in Las Vegas....DH and I have the grands all to ourselves....oh happy day....grin. DD and the boys will be here until April 25th....SIL has to head back for work this Friday. weather man says sunny mornings and rainy afternoons all week, but no problem...grandson Jordan has supplied them with lovely movies for each afternoon....he is 18 and just as excited for them to be here as DH and I are. The little ones call him their "Big American cousin". He took all week off work so he would have time with them....Grandma has the morning kid shift and GS takes the after class afternoon shift.

Verona, ON

Oh Moon I loved the froggie bags your 2 darling GSs got their Easter treats in. Sitting here listening to Joe - he makes me smile.

Katie I chuckle to myself everyday as I say "Self, remember your deal with Katie." Yesterday I fell over my own feet at the Texas Bridge and down I went. Nothing hurt but my pride. Had my mind on things other than walking. Even Diesel shook his head at me.

Steve and Tia (his DD) came for a visit this morning. Diesel was disappointed though as they didn't bring Thor.

Weird holiday up here - some get it and some don't. All govt offices. PO, schools and I think banks are closed and the rest of the world is open. I take it you are working Betty since you were talking about ordering lunch. Yikes on the pension shortfall. Good to know it will be all back to normal next month. You did file all your papers didn't you??

Debbie I meant to mention that it takes ages to get to see the Hematologists up here too. The only reason I got in as quickly as I did is that the neurosurgeon walked me down the hall, knocked on a door, opened it and said to the doc inside "You need to see my patient now please." Otherwise I think it was like a 4 mon wait. Poor Shannon she must be pretty well beat up from all the pokes. The port while intrusive in 1 way sounds like a good idea. I know I would be opting for one if I was in the same position. The only thing that bothers me about having blood drawn is the anticipation of how many pokes it will take before they get a 'live' one.

Beets sound like a wonderful idea Deb. I love them! Do you pickle some of them when they are ready? Yum!

Very strong winds here and the lights are flickering so I best get off of here.

Be back later if the power stays on.
Dianne

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I fell in love with the froggie baskets....they collapse so they will be able to take them home with them....have to be careful as so much can't fit in the checked bags. we are partial to frogs here...grin. So glad all that got hurt was a bit of pride. enjoy Joe....does the spirit good.

Verona, ON

Still here, I chance the power going off.....lol

Jean you would love it here in the Spring when all the bullfrogs come acourting.Perhaps you get the same ritual??? Some people complain about the noise from the swamp all night long - me I love it. Makes me smile and also feel energized. The Canada Geese have started up - man they can be noisey. Still no ducks and probably the wind today would stop them from settling down on the creek if they were here.

Diesel had a snake this morning. First he rolled in it and then he pranced around all proud of himself. What a guy! It almost looks like the snake came out too early and got caught when the temp dropped way back down so drastically. It is very cold out there today with a wind chill even. And that's no April Foll's joke.
D

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Frogs and toads were the main reason I wanted a pond, Dianne. I tease my DH that he is a bit of a voyeur in the spring....their song is quite audible and he loves to slip out to the pond with the torch to see how many he can see....and we actually have to dip and transport "toad-poles" down to the creek/bayou every so often as the pond gets way too many to support. A couple weeks ago we had a flock of Canada Geese visit the creek and Bayou....I think we are a rest stop on their migratory route....we live about a quarter mile from the creek and about the same distance in the other direction from the bayou....we always know when the "flying Canadians" are in residence.....sunrise and sundown are well announced by their honking.

Almost feel sorry for the snake....that would truly be a matter of Mother Nature's "natural selection"....as DH says, Ma Nature is not fond of foolish critters. But i am sure Diesel
would disagree....what a fine catch....GRIN.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Bet you will be exhausted when they leave but the nicest 'exhausted' feeling there is!
Ahhhh, bet your grandson feels 10' tall. You won't know what to do with yoursefl..first Judy and Family and now your family visit..

Wind is extremely high here as well Dianne, Suzanne and I walked across the street for lunch and wind almost carried us there. Yikes, do you panick at such things i.e. the snake???

Dianne when I moved from Oshawa up full time to the cottage I was absolutely thrilled as we had train tracks in the very back of our yard..mostly for transporting GM products..because Park Street was only doors away they would blare their horn to let those travelling the roads that they were coming and to be watchful of lights..

So when we moved to the cottage I just couldn't wait, no more trains. Then I would lay away, rib it/rib it/rib it, thed the whipperwill would sing along, then the sound of waves hitting the shoreline, drats, couldn't sleep, drove me crazy listening to these sounds lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Jean, do you live right on the bayou??

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I would love to live next to some water to listen to! Love the sounds of the waves.

For years DH and I spent all of July and Aug at a relative's shack ( no hydro or running water) and there was a set of rapids just a few yards away from our bedroom. It was heavenly! That was the 1 place I could actually sleep for 4 or 5 hours at a time.We fished everyday much to our delight. Developed my love of pickerel (walleye) at the shack.

Gee Betty I lived in Oshawa twice in my life. When were you there? Once on Nonquon and the second time in a house on Bluejay Cres. Only cost $150/mon to rent a 4 bederoom, 3 bathroom house, 2 car garage back then. Imagine it is quite the tidy sum to rent now. That was when there was a building boom then bust - whole subdivisions were abandoned and house that couldn't be sold were rented out dirt cheap. My DN lives of Dieppe just off of Park St.

Verona, ON

Ahhhh, yes Debbie. Would feel so good right about now wouldn't it?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

No, not directly on the banks of the bayou, but it is less than a 1/4 mile (maybe 1/3 a Km) from both the Bayou Manchac and Muddy Creek. No sounds of waves, but lots of critter talk. We are about 30 minutes from Lake Maurepas and an hour or less from Lake Ponchatrain and about an hour from the Gulf of Mexico....there are probably a dozen bayous within 30 minutes or less from us. Louisiana's state nickname is "The Sportsman's Paradise".

April Fool's Everyone!
No really, it is me. Just thought I would drop in while waiting for an email. Hope all is going well for everyone and you all had a lovely Easter. It was nice weather wise and quiet for the most part.
I joined a quilting club last week, so am enjoying that. I'll let you know if I eventually do anything big.... ha ha!
Just wanted to say Hi! and will go back and read the last couple of threads when I get more time. Family matters that have to be dealt with right now. Spring is slow at coming here but will be great when it comes.
Please take care of yourselves and yours till then. God Bless you all.
Shirley

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie that looks nice, we have a small lake here, but no sandy beaches, it is all rocks and cacti! We have to travel 6 hours to get to the coast.
Hey Shirley, so glad to see you pop in! Sorry to hear about family matters! Hope you can resolve the quickly!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Waving 'hi' Shirley..as always, my face lights up when I see you post..sorry to hear you are still battling family issues, had hoped that was all behind you..am excited though that you joined a quilting class..regardless of the size of project I look forward we look forwrd to seeing it in progress.

Know my thoughts and prayers are with you this month..I think of Tubby often and miss him as well.

Jean, what a place to live, next door to everything.

Debbie you now have me lonesome for the ocean..

Sun trying to peak through the clouds..little late in the day I'd say

Great picture Betty!

Good morning everyone,

Cold, overcast and snow flurries here.

Shannon came home feeling very sore, can't turn head/neck to the left. She is trying so hard. If she can get
through today she has off until her appointment on Monday. Gave her heating pad and Tylenol but she was
still awake at Midnight.

The coffee seems to be taking forever this morning!

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Apple blossoms I believe LindaKay..yikes must be unbearable already for you. Humid as well?

Debbie, Shannon sure is trying to keep up with regular routine, rest/work..let's hope she makes it through the day.
