Pattie, I would like some of your Louisiana iris it looks beautiful, Thank you,
2013 N Central TX RU April 21st in Arlington #2 TRADE
I've had good luck with most Louisiana irises in soil;
if there're enough, I'd love to try Black Gamecock.
I'll try a black gamecock iris, have several ponds. Just tell me if tuber and roots are submerged, or it has to be above the water, roots drape into the media below water. It is beautiful! (no more water lilies for me though, I'm full and growing fancies that are winter hardy.)
I have rooted buddleia, beein doing it like Mums, cutting about 6 inches, with half and a couple of nodes stuck in dirt, if I remember to water it usually lives. . But I am intriqued by the dome cup idea. Water or potting soil in that cup?
lol Pattie, put me down for a Black Gamecock too if you have enough. I'd quit trying to grow LA irises, but maybe this year will be better.
The canna is called 'Red Stripe.' It multiples like crazy, but my whole patch died after standing in water too long winter before last after a water line broke.
Could I grow the game cock in a pond? If so and you still have one I would like to try one.
Cheryl
Are you out of the black game cock iris yet? If not, I'd like one.
Angel, I will check my cannas and bring one if I can. I *think I have one left of the tall burgundy one with red flowers. (Pat, did you mention the name earlier?) I also have a dwarf one, with flowers sort of a tangerine color (I believe the name is Angel Pink but not sure) but it's just now coming up so I don't know yet how much
Wow awesome pbtxlady! I look forward to seeing them.
Angel
pbtx, I have some of the Gold Moss sedum but rather than you throw some away, I would like to have more than I now have. also if you have Cone flowers coming up in the lawn, I'd like some more of those as well. TIA!
Tomorrow (or when it stops raining) I will pull the black gamecock out of the pond and see how many there are. I'll bring as many as I can.
Yes, Cheryl, you can grow it in a pond--that's where I grow it--as long as it has some sun. It must really love the water because it grows about 3 times as fast as my other irises. Gypsi, it's planted in a basket-type pot, in pure clay kitty litter, so there's water running all through it. I keep the soil surface submerged anywhere from 1 to 3 inches. It doesn't seem to be very particular, though. I think it actually lived loose in my little cascade pond for a while.
I treat the dome cups like a little terrarium--potting soil, tall cup (Starbucks venti size), moistened (enough to condense), and seal. I have put small drain holes sometimes, and no drain holes sometimes, but buddleias always root either way. I take the tape off the hole when roots are visible, and take the whole lid off when it buds. Mine usually stay in light or dappled shade until then. I learned this trick from Patrob (only I think she uses soda pop bottles) and it works really well for a lot of things.
Sure, steady, got you down.
I'm going to bring as many of the coneflower seedlings as I have time to dig and pot up. Everyone who has asked will get at least two. There should be plenty of extras for anyone who wants more.
Did I get an ok on these yet?
Gypsi – Peach iris, and some Dutch Bearded
Smockette – 3 lg 2 sm buckets, and three of your blue bottles
***Also, the Attendance thread is up!*** Thanks Jo! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1305391/#post_9469961

Did someone on here have daffodil bulbs that naturalize in Texas?
Ok, I wanted to post this to let everyone who was helping me find stuff for beds that I don't need any right now - but thanks! Home Depot has their landscaping timbers on sale from $3.50 to $1.57 We got 8 of them yesterday so that should be enough for now.
Thanks again so much!
Angel
That would be great, Anna. Thanks!
I still have tons of unclaimed stuff, so speak up if anyone would like anything. Only two weeks left to unload it all!
austinram, a neighbor gave me some irises & threw in some beaver tail & spineless cactus;
the spinless has some roots, & she said the beaver tail is easy to root.
I'll bring them if you can use them.
Dennis, if you still have the creeping phlox, I could use it.
The creeping phlox are yours!
I offered cane cholla to Dennis and Austin but its not rooted yet. I will bring what I have but I think someone had rooted cane cholla Dennis if you want to make sure. I thought I had a few small ones growing but I must have given them away last fall, sorry. I think the little starts are making some roots just no new growth yet.
C
I also potted up 3 skeleton leaf golden eye today. Not sure they will take as they tend to be very fussy about being potted up but if they live the next two weeks they are up for grabs.
I potted up two alpine strawberries today if anyone is interested. They spread aggressively by runners, so I wouldn't recommend them in an uncontained area. Mine are in a bed between my driveway and the house, so they don't have anywhere to go.
I also potted up a Kiowa blackberry, aspineless prickly pear and two pigeonberry. Any takers?
I'd love to have the blackberry!
I would take one pigeonberry.
I would like a pigeonberry, please.
Dennis, could I also have an alpine strawberry and a dwarf sweetspire? Please tell me if I'm asking for too much. I feel like a kid in a candy shop!
I have everyone down for their requests.
Covenantgarden, don't worry - we're glad to give our plants away! I mostly just pot things up that I would have pulled up and thrown away if it weren't for these swaps. Anything that doesn't find a home will end up in my compost bin anyway.
Thank you, Dennis!
Gypsi - I have some bad news....only one of the banana peppers took, I had three but I think it is because puppies dumped the others and I may not have gotten all the right things back in the pots. hmmmm....might find peppers growing outside my garden LOL.
Anyway, I will bring the one that I have, but is there anything else I can trade you for the Iris? I am so sorry.
Angel
One is fine and don't worry about it Angel.
Going to take some buddleia cuttings now and try to get them going.
I have inventory this week, but I'll check back in next week and let everyone know about their requested trades. :)
I've been looking at Angel's pics of her Don Juan, thinking how you never find that rose any more.
went out this morning to pot up some things, fished a poor rose bush out of its bucket of water to either pot it or have a little memorial service for it.
This rose came from the demolition site, & it had been ripped up pretty badly by the backhoe, its one surviving cane hanging by a thread.
It still looked okay, though, alive at least, so I put it in a pot & discovered...
It still has its metal Jackson & Perkins tag.
the one that says "Don Juan".
I made cuttings from the one cane, don't know if they'll take, given its PTSD & the season, but if you want the rose and/or the cuttings, Angel, they're yours!
Serendipity is so cool!
(Did you know that if your fingers are just one letter to the left of where they're supposed to be & you type "ser", what appears is "awe"???)
So sorry, everyone, that I haven't listed my stuff. Time, time, time!
I have this to offer;
many EE bulbs, started in 1 gal pots
many cannas, "(orange and tropicanna)
Ice plants, dark pink (or red-can't remember)
6 gal pots of oregano (2 more promised to Patrob and Steadycam)
vinca major, lots
vinca minor (maybe, if I can get over there to get it)
Ajania Pacificum, a few
Hibiscus, Rose Mallow (big white with red center) I will try to dig these up tomorrow. I told some of you last year that I needed to thin them out, but I still have a pretty useless foot, and I'm not sure I can get my shovel through those roots. I'll do my best. I should have at least 3-4 pots if I can do it.
I know I'm late getting my requests in, so I don't know what's still available. I'll just say what I'd like, and it's ok if there's none of it left. I don't need trades for my stuff.
cone flowers
blackberries (as many as not spoken for)
phlox
I was given three gift flowers like this at the 2012 RU. I don't know what they are or who gave them to me, but I have enjoyed the little pretties so much. Two made it through the winter. One did not. I would love to have more of them.
The horses are saying, "Why are you stumbling around out in those flower beds when it's time to feed us?"
What kind of phlox are you looking for, sybram? I can probably bring creeping phlox, phlox pilosa, and/or John Fanick phlox if any of those interest you.
beautiful orange flowers!
I can't tell the details, & the flowers are very very big, but the leaves remind me of coreopsis;
maybe a fancy hybrid?
I don't have anything you actually want, but I'm in Waxahachie, & I'd be happy to help you dig in return for a hibiscus & maybe an elephant ear.
We would just need to work out a day & time.
Those horses *do* look like they're dumbfounded at whatever you're doing!
lol Sybil, my horse Leo has the same expression whenever he sees us, and it's all about the sweet feed.
I have several kinds of coneflower seedlings that I will bring for you. Some of the parents were hybrids, so the offspring may be unusual or not. I planted a bunch of seeds hoping for a few plants, and lots came up!
Thank you for the oregano. I'd like to ask for an orange canna and a Tropicanna too.

Cheryl, I'd like one unless there are too many takers.
No one seems too interested and I have a few, so of course you can.
C
Thanks, Cheryl.
Sybram, do you have any of the yellow blooming (weeds) that Josephine noticed on your farm last year? If so, would you bring me one? I think it was called Scotch Broom.
Sybil, do you have Canna Tropicanna? I killed mine off and it's on my wish list--could you put me down?
I'm bring a lot of cones and will put you down.
Cheryl I would love some Skeletonleaf please!!
