OH I forgot, I won't be able to bring the landscaping timbers after all. The neighbor who has them went out of town and forgot to bring them to me...*sigh* Sorry all. But hey, I do have an new thing for a door prize if you think anyone would want it. I am into recycling as much as possible so along with my dog food bag totes, I have made a garden apron.
It is newly done so it is a bit stiff and I don't have hot water to wash it in, but it will loosen up over time for sure. Here is a picture - let me know if I should bring it or not:
2013 N Central TX RU April 21st in Arlington #2 TRADE
Pat, I don't know much about the different varieties of basil. I'm guessing that probably the large-leaf would work best for them, because they like to use it to make bruschetta, but if you think another type would be better, I'm sure they'll like it. Thank you!
LOL--so now the last-minute posting starts fast and furious.
I packed up 10 flats of plants today. All ready to load--now I just have to figure out how to get it all in the car. :)
Some of the stuff that I dug in the last 2-3 days is wilted--daisies, obedient plant, and a couple of other things that pout at first. I mention that because I don't want anyone to be horrified when they get them. They should all bounce back in a few days.
For the two people who asked for Indigo Spires cuttings--Pat and someone else? I potted those up a couple of weeks ago. They haven't rooted yet, but they also haven't rotted, so I'm bringing them. Normally they root very quickly. I'm wondering if it's a bit early for them. They like the heat and we've been pretty cold so far for April. If they don't eventually root, just let me know, and when it warms up, I will start more.
Very cute apron GFWaco please bring it.
I have 4 Saliva Greggii seedlings. They will be either red, pink, or coral. And one Rose Campion seedling. It likes morning sun and afternoon shade, and has beautiful deep red blooms. If nobody speaks for them, I will put them on the Orphan table.
Carla
i want the Rose Campion please.
Wow! My head is spinning just scrolling to the bottom of the page. Whole lot of tradin' goin' on. LOL! I look forward to meeting everyone tomorrow! This is already fun.
Carla, can I have one of your greggiis please?
The apron is too cute! I used to work for a vet, that would have been ideal to wear to bathe dogs too.
Steadycam, the Rose Campion is yours. Stephanie, I will mark a Salvia Greggii for you.
Carla
Sheila: I never thought of that, might have to keep it now LOL...nah, I will bring it.
I didn't get the bird feeders done, I was going to cut wine bottles and do the bird feeders day before yesterday but as you all may have heard the fertilizer plant in West (just down the street from us basically) blew up. That in itself is bad enough, but it sent tons of ammonia into the air. I have lung problems and couldn't go outside for a couple of days so the bottles didn't get done. I will try if I have time after church to put one together but no promises.
However, I will bring the empty wine bottles with me for anyone who might like to make them on their own. I think I am as organized as I can be after this week. I cant wait to meet everyone tomorrow - night and God Bless!
Angel
It looks like I might have a trailer with large limestone boulders with me, no guarantees. I fell today and sprained my left thumb, not sure if I can hitch it up. I only have one actual rooted white buddleia, I will take some cuttings in the morning, ya'll will have to get them to root, I have had a very very long week. Fortunately most of the stuff on my tradelist to go out was potted back in october and is all good to go and sitting on the front porch. I'll lift iris just before I go to town. Looking forward to it!
Hope you got a committment from the ones who wanted the stones before you haul them and they have no way to take them home. Those are some big suckers.
Gypsi, please don't worry about the rocks. Take care of your thumb! I don't think we can get them from your trailer into my truck anyway. And GFWaco can't bring the landscape timbers, so I guess you don't need the trailer. Thank you for the offer, though.

See everyone at 1pm today!! I have added a link to the pavillion in the top post. Here it is again... http://www.arlingtontx.gov/parks/simple/park_pavilions_randolmill.html
As you turn into the park, the pavillion will be to the left. You will see it in time to turn. Be safe everyone!
Ok, you talked me into NOT moving stones. My thumb is moving this morning, but not well enough to operate a pepper grinder. (the cheap kind) finding out what to put in the truck, and walking my dogs. It was a long week.
I hear ya' Gypsi! I'm right there with you!
Im worried about how to heat up my pot roast. It's been in the frig all night. Im going to try to get the hotel to heat it for me. If they dont I guess we will eat it cold. Thing is, we have to check out at 1100 and I need it hot at one. Do any of you live close to 360 and Green Oaks? It is in a corning ware dutch oven so it wont fit nto the tiny microwave in the hotel room. Any ideas?
I don't live close to your hotel Marty, just take it out and let it come to room temperature slowly, another thought, Sheila's husband is going to roast vegetables on the grill at the pavilion so you could put your pan on the grill there.
sounds like a solution - grill is already there, no electricity required!
No, he is grilling at home and transfering them to a crockpot. So the grill won't be used, just pick up some lighter and brickettes.
Oh boy!! I misunderstood I guess do what you think is best.
loading up
and looking for the map
Everyone THANK YOU SO MUCH! The plants I was gifted with are amazing! Although they are not in the ground they are in the bed and I can't wait to take pictures of how amazing they will look in their new home. I enjoyed meeting all of you and look forward to more Round Ups in the future.
It was a long day for us - my puppies are so tired they crashed immediately when we came home and Terry and I are too tired to even cook dinner LOL but we had such a good time! Thanks again, and see you all online!
Angel
Thank you Angel, we enjoyed meeting you also, looking forward to seeing you again.
Josephine.
It was wonderful to meet all of you. I can't honestly say I have one plant in the ground yet, but I am clearing the bermudagrass out of the rest of my front bed by electric light, to try to get most of them tucked in before work in the morning.
I had a great time, the food was fabulous and I could eat most of it! And I look forward to fall. Thank you
Herman and I decided there won't be any dinner tonight! I ate enough for two meals and sweets for a week! Always love my friends coming through with all kinds of goodies to make the RU the best!
I hate that some of you had to leave early, it was very busy and long, but hope you enjoyed the time spent with us today!

I made it home by nine and got the car unloaded and the plants in what will be shade tomorrow. I so enjoy being with you guys!
You're the best. My sis and BIL enjoyed it too. They want to come back next time.
To those of you to whom I promised seed, I apologize. They are still in my wallet where I put them so I would not forget!!!
Send me your addy by Dmail and I will put them in right away. Marty
I am glad you made it home safe Marty, now get some rest.
Josephine.
LOL Marty! You sound like me forgetting the seeds! Glad you made it home safely.
Get some rest Marty!
I can't remember what I forgot, but I KNOW I forgot something. Tomorrow is another day. I will be lifting snowflakes before fall to thin them, someone remind me then. (they are propagating themselves just now)
Aggressive plants = auto-propagation ^_^
These don't spread much, they just k ind of stack on top of each other, like daffodils
I have to let y'all know something. Those who took home my columbine seedlings--the ones that are marked Texas gold? Well--one that I left in the ground has shot up a bud, and--surprise--it's red, not yellow. I used to have those, but I didn't think there were any left. Apparently there was one, and it seeded, and, well, I dunno which y'all got. Sorry! They are still native and still pretty, just not the pretty yellow ones.
I'll be happy with any native columbine!! Thank you, Patti!
I'll let you know what color it is in a day or 2, I see a bud. Thank you!
My plants are all in the ground... just in time for the heat.
I have 4 large plants not in the ground, 2 vines (one from RU - the passionflower, and one from my greenhouse) and a fern and cast iron plant.
I put the iceplant in a wide shallow clay pot, and the sedums in a bonsai pot large enough to hold both groups, all in organic potting mix. They don't look like they would do well in the ground, but please correct me if I am wrong.
