Thanks...can't wait to see her..... she's been in hospital since Friday.
NE Pets Forum #26
Suey is finally home. Ultrasound showed nothing definitive. Sigh. Have to go back subbing in Sept. to pay for this :>(
Glad that she is home.
Thanks, Lucy.
We have two peeps so far! Checked at dinner when the girls were here and nothing. Figured it would be tomorrow...decided to take a last look and I could here a few little chirps, Mamma wasn't having any parts of me looking under her, she was a pecking fool. I put on my gardening gloves and got the flashlight and caught a glimpse of one but saw two eggs. The girls will be ecstatic (as am I LOL) I should be able to get some pics in the morning. Can't wait to see them!
that's awesome.. congrats!!
yay!
Congrats on egg hatching 101!!!
Still only two and one of them only has one eye and a crooked beak. I'll wait and see if he gets worse, may have to put it down. Not looking forward to that :(
Oh, dear! Hope the other one is OK....the girls will be happy with one.
please straighten out!!
Suey went for her chemo yesterday....there was a conference with a microbiologist at the vet hospital, & my vet showed her the results of the UTI culture. Result was Suey needs a special antibiotic which they ordered from the drug company.....
awwww, Happy birthday pups!
Already? Gosh, seems like they were just born! Such cutie pies!
I'm just checking in. I don't get to the internet much as I have to take my laptop to the Library to access it. I'm sorry for your up and down ride with Suey. I'm glad the shots help Abby. Bear is doing fine although he doesn't like the heat and humidity we've had this last week. He's always been a late shedder and suffers the first hot spell.
Harry, the tan kitty and Sweetie Pie the gray tiger are back staying with me. They where staying at a friends house until I could get a little set. Midnight the black cat didn't make it. I found his body about a week ago. I'm still no sure of exactly what happened. Where I found him I had walked before. I suspect he may have been traveling the neighborhood or living in the woods or something, got injured and came back home to die. We are fairly rural and he had been living on his own when he was found before he came to live with us, but wasn't feral.
We should get electricity back on the property next week and that should help.
:(
Doug - so sorry to hear of your loss.
Glad you checked in Doug, sorry to hear about Midnight (((♥)))
Very sorry for your loss, Doug.....
Glad to hear from you Doug hope things get back to normal for you soon
so sorry Doug.. hugs
Whew! I'm glad to know it wasn't worse, but I am sorry you've had such loss and upheaval, nonetheless. I hope those furry friends are a comfort.
Winston is in sooo much trouble!
Here's mama and chickie...only two hatched, I tossed the other eggs on Sunday. The crooked beak little one so far is doing okay, not sure if it will get worse as it gets bigger. Hard to get a pic of that one, stays under mama a lot. I just bought another six eggs for my other broody hen that I thought would hatch the first batch, maybe we will get a few more.
Bad Winston! I don't see Mama & chick, Ronnie.....
aaaaawwwwwww
awwwwww
How cute!!!!!
Really cute pair.
Squeeeee!
That's a wonderful photo, Ronnie!
Thanks lucky shot! Sophie was thrilled to take it to school.
Well little one eye didn't make it...I couldn't find it anywhere this morning, looked and looked, finally found him buried under the shavings. I guess he just wasn't strong enough. The girlies took it well, I'm glad I prepared them before they got too attached. The other one is doing great and the other mama hen isn't pecking at it anymore. The other batch of eggs will come tomorrow and I'll put them under her on Friday.
I think growing up around animals is really good for kids. They learn perspective about life. They watch the animal mothers caring for their babies, and sometimes not. I have been thinking a lot about wanting a bee colony, but we don't have that much room, nor the time.
so sorry to hear about the small one.. but glad the girls are ok
The kids are stronger than you think.....
Second batch of eggs came today. I wish I had ordered from this place first, wow what a difference just in the packing. I think I'll have better luck with these, all nice and clean, double boxed and wrapped great and a full set of written instructions if your using an incubator. Some real nice info and pics on the development the girls got a kick out of too. I'll put then under her tomorrow, hoping she stays broody for one more day!
good luck!!
hope these work out better for you
Are they any special breed?
