Silver Laced Bantam Cochins
NE Pets Forum #26
Pretty....I always admire them at the fair. No chemo today for Suey....drove an hour in the pouring rain, her white cell count was too low. The vet said it was her mistake, she forgot to lower the dose last week, as this has happened before. I met a friend for lunch a half hour away from the hospital, so not a total waste.
Geeze that stinks, glad you made the best of it.
hahahahahaha

totally awesome
Rats....can't open it!
Funny and true.
We have been seeing a feral black cat having around our place. Well yesterday we found out she had kittens. We were able to catch one yesterday, and out has Siamese markings. She's the most adorable little thing! I would soooo love to keep her, but I can't afford the vet bills. I can barely afford my two dogs. I'm sure it won't be hard to find a home for this cutie. I'm thinking she's about 6-8 weeks old, but really not sure. W saw another kitten with similar markings, and also a black one. Were trying to get in touch worth a woman who runs a trap, neuter and release program. She can take the kittens, as they are adoptable. The mother would have to be spayed and released back.
Karen
Robin, I'll see if I can find that video somewhere else beside FB
Those kittens are ADORABLE!!!!! def won't have a problem adopting them out

Wicked cute kitten Karen!!
Cute jen
I've been away from this thread for a while now, and I finally got caught up tonight. Yesterday was the first chance I had to post anything for this thread in a long time.
The kitten is it a neighbors house right now. Her kids adore her, and so does her husband. They're keeping her on there sun porch for now. They have two female cats already. They said if we find somebody who wants to keep it as a pet indoors, then they can take her. I still have not heard back from the woman who does the TNR. If I don't hear from her by tomorrow I'm going to have to call around to some other places.
.
Doug, so sorry to hear about the devastating fire in the loss of your Midnight. I can't imagine what that must be like.
Marilyn, I'm very sorry to hear about all of Suey's problems. Sounds very stressful for the both of you. My Patches is getting at that age where she's starting to have problems. She seems to be having trouble breathing when it's hot out now. She was never like that before.
Ronnie, sounds like a lot of fun things are happening at your place with the chicks, the parakeet and such. Can't wait to see what you get from those new eggs. I feel for you with those digging Danes.
Rosemary, Cliffie sure is looking handsome. He looks like a distinguished gentleman.
Karen
Sorry to hear about Patches, Karen. Suey is doing well right now, hope it continues.
a/c for Patches? Perhaps she has developed asthma. I think that dogs do so.
I was just thinking the same thing.
Seems my big mama hen has given up her broodiness and won't sit on the eggs :(
I think once the other chickie hatched she became a surrogate mama.
weird, so now do you have an incubator you can use?
No, I never bought one and I think now it's too late.
light bulb under the eggs will do it.. remember doing that in school
Yeah, Patches will probably have to stay inside when the weather's hot. I was thinking it was asthma too.
We found someone to take the kitten, a woman who lives right here in town in the mobile home park. She works with the TNR group out of Canton. She might keep the kitten herself. Shell get it setup so we can trap the strays, and get them neutered and released. Did I mention before that one of the neighbors of the street has been feeding three strays for the past year? Just found out the other day. Anyhow, I mention to her that we needed to get them fixed before the neighborhood becomes overrun with them. There are two males and female, and she thinks for females that had the kittens at our house is the one that she's been feeding. She was agreeable to having the TNR group help her out. We found out from the vet that the kitten is about 10 weeks old.
Good luck with the eggs Ronnie.
Karen
Thanks Karen.
Thanks for the link Allison, I had thought about the homemade ones, not sure if I want to go that route.
Well just couldn't give up on the eggs...since mama isn't doing the job figured I'd give it a shot. Looks like we have three with something in there, not sure if it's too late but why not try. They are now sitting under lights in a cooler for a quick makeshift incubator. We shall wait and see.
Hope you get some hatchlings!
Me too :)
How is Suey doing?
It's been 3&1/2 weeks since Abby's medrol shot and it's starting to wear off. I was hoping it would have lasted a couple more weeks :(
Still can't wrap my head around having to put her down. She had a coughing/sneezing attack and is licking at her feet and rubbing her backside again. Hopefully the yeasty ears won't start up too. This is so hard....
Ronnie, it's too heart-breaking, I know. Suey's doing fine....she had chemo on Tuesday, the kind that's toxic to the bladder, so Lasix is given with the oral chemo.....we stopped along the roadside 4x coming home!
Glad Suey is doing well!
Ronnie, so sorry to hear about Abby. Poor girl. I hope you get some eggs hatching soon.
I'm glad to hear that Suey is doing well.
Karen
Suey says thanks!
:)
Took Suey into my vet today for a blood count......he was very happy with her health.....can't find any sign of the lymphoma, urine culture came back clean....yay!
