I'm first!

Nope, don't want a cold, cheap or not!!
Have a hot toddy, Betty......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just might do that, still light light out and it's Friday night and guess who is thinking of going to bed..doesn't seem like that long ago how we prayed Friday night would come so we could go paint the town.. Now I can't even get the paint can out.

Kyle dropped in for a bit, I asked if he was going it, said no, had to be at work for 8am..Lordy what are today's kids coming to if they can't burn the midnight oil and go to work?? Lol

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

Feel better Betty !! Hot HOt Bath then Vicks on the nose......

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

lol well Betty - he's working hard.... likely realizes that he won't be much use if he doesn't get enough sleep

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Not too hot, Deb - apparently it will put you to sleep quickly, but too hot means you may not sleep through the night.
Nice warm bath is good - with epsom salts

Victoria Harbour, ON

All comfy, quilt books by my side, no kitties yet, reminds me of the commercial where a man is in bed, feeling as I am, asking his wife to call his momma..ohhhh, I'll have to think about that one. Lol

Next time I get up I'll put Vicks on the sole of my feet, someone said that's a great cure..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

"Deb, Deb........ call my mom?!"...... and she throws something (think it's the cold medicine) lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

That it is, get a kick out of that one.

Pat just called, she was confirming everything is a go for tomorrow morning.

Big sigh, at this time next week I'll be is sunny Forida

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yaaaaaaaaaaaay for Florida!!!!!

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

I'll remember that hot bath tip.....I'm from Minot ND so I can identify with Canadian cold.....are you visiting family, Betty?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

ah, and I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Deb...........

You all have been so busy! Tried keeping up while I was away but it was hard on my Nook.

With Izzy being sick, Shannon getting over from being sick.....and DH's Larry The Cable Guy outting tomorrow night...we had to
come back today. Paying two nights at a "safe" hotel was quite expensive also, and the "in laws" are staying with SIL. Also, didn't
know I was going to have to be back on Monday until this morning.

Saw my doctor, went over scans, he doesn't like what he is seeing ...a cyst in my spine area....and wants me to see a specialist.
I figured would take four to six weeks to get in. Apparently he has friends in high places as I have an appointment on Monday with two
specialists. One a Cardio-thoracic specialist and the other for a skin biopsy to do nerve testing on peripheral nerves in my legs. They just need
to make sure it is all safe to leave alone and monitor.

Going to try and do it in a day trip, leaving here at 6:00 a.m. Appointments are at Noon & 3:00, so will come back home
straight after we hope.

Exhausted here...so heading to bed soon.

Sweet dreams all,
Debbie

Baton Rouge, LA

So glad you have those appointments Deb...Kudos to Dr. High Places !

Susan and Jean THANK you for the recipes ! I'll have to figure out how to merge the two...

So far so good planning to go to the parade tomorrow... I'm not a morning person but we have to leave at 7:30am they roll up the streets at 8am...

Betty... You'll enjoy Spring in Florida I Know !

All you sick and tired folks please get well soon !

Hugs
Mary

Early morning greetings..

Somebody set my inner workings for 2:30-3:00 up and at it..just have to find a way of getting it back on track, 5am would be nice! I call it my bewitching hour.

Debbie, I'm with Mary, kudo's for your doctor having connections in high places. Will be a long day dor you both on Monday.Don't like the sounds of that cyst either, didn't give you any indication of what it could be? Sounds as though they are very thorough so well worth the trip. How is FIL & Shannon, know you were worried about Shannon being on her own while you were in Ohio? Didn't know Izzy was I'll, another worry for you.

Mary, you will be up early as well this morning, big parade, hope you have your camera fully charged..you know how I live pictures. Bet it's a fun parade. They are having a large one in Toronto as well, figure about 150,000 in attendance.

Deb, not family, just like family though..at Christmas I drove my girlfriend to fort Myers so she could spend 3 month, her husband in early 50's lost her hubby January 3rd 2011' then her father died (both having brain aneurysm)morning after her dad's death her mother fell downstairs, broke her hip, ended up in convalescent home , then her mom and dad's home which is next door to her on the lake sold quickly so that had to be looked after, so Dalene just had to get away for her own sanity had to get away ..I fly down Friday morning and likely will leave Thursday to drive her and the kitties home.

Well, going to stop fighting trying to sleep and get up..maybe put coffee on and bake some cinnamon rolls for you all..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Rise and shine everyone..

I've made you treats and now I'm off and running, well perhaps walking would be a better description lol

Yum, I will have one of those sweet rolls! Thanks!
Betty, what are you working on today?

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

Betty, you are a blessing.....And may God continue to bless and protect you !!!! Those rolls look wonderful, Thank you, I had one with some StarBuck coffee and it just reved up my engines.... !!!!! Debbie, my prayers surround you...I'll be watching for any news from you.....God's Tender Mercies.....Today is a catch up on paperwork day then some felt work in the afternoon.....All have a wonderful day.....Deb

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I think this is the day that Betty was going with Pat to a craft fair....some place that started with a B....mind like a rusty sieve today...grin

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Deb, would love to see some of your felted work?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I think Betty is going to go get her quilt frame today....that is why she has been redecorating her craft room...

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Debbie - blessings on you and the High Places your Dr knows about. I hope the cyst is nothing, because we don't want to "borrow trouble" or "trouble trouble, until trouble troubles us"......
I will pray for you.

Betty - here's hoping your quilt frame will fit! Thanks for the treats
Jean - my mind is a rusty sieve too lol

Mary - you're welcome. Didn't see Jean's recipe though....maybe my eyes are like sieves too?!?! lol

Got an email from my sister Alice...... my brother may not be as "on board" about our Mom going into an Intermediate Care Home as originally thought, and he's going to "sound her out" about it. She called me last night, and we had a good "regular" chat - they don't think she knows, but I'll just bet she does. My daughter, not knowing about anything of this, had a conversation with Mom on Wed, and Mom said "it won't be Stan who makes the decision, it will be one of the girls" and then last night he got her dinner and then took a book and went to a restaurant for his dinner, to read a book. Strange, no? He never does that - he has dinner with Mom cuz why would he leave home and not have dinner with her? I'm sure she knows....

Well here I am, safe and sound, long drive but happy as can be with the outcome..yes I drove with Pat, we left at 6:30am right on schedule..arrived at the quilting studio exactly at 9am..was impressed with the studio and more so with their mornimg program, group of girls between 10-14 all sewing on projects..class is Saturday mornings 9am-11:00am..I was taken aback with what those children are issuing, took a few photo's. Room is on the upstairs floor, all have to carry. Their own machines and supplies..one father wanted to carry the machine upstairs and was told in a loud voice 'no'. One of the young ladies received a quilt from the sewing store years ago while undergoing chemo, it meant so much to her that the minute she was able to she asked if she could learn to sew and since has made 3 quilts and donated them to the cancer society.

See Barb, your endeavors likely will encourage surviving children to do same.

Tried the machine/quilt frame and impressed with the quality..few inches longer and it would not fit, as it is thank goodness I had bucket seats so boxes could fit in between the front area..

We than travelled to Lens Mill, talk about fabric, could have bought bolts of fabric bit still $10-18 a meter so decided with going to Florida Friday I'll shop at Joann's and visit a few fabric shops.

We stopped at a flower wholesaler and I bought myself some flowers, thought I deserved it, pat bought a plant..

Did groceries when I got home, have a stew cooking, nap is in order but think I should not nap while cooking otherwise I'll be using fire extinguisher as per Debbie.

Want to comment on all your posts but need to take meds and contact Greg/Kyle to carry all the boxes in..much too heavy for me to do so, see I'm learning.

Bet on with Pat and her hubby Don as to how long before I open boxes and start putting it together?? Doubtful until I come back from Florida unless I can find me a man. Lol

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well I certainly exercised my knee yesterday. Kim (DD) had a furlough day from work so we spent the day shopping....plus a delicious Mexican lunch. A little sore but sure did feel good to be able to go all day with out being in pain!!!

Mary, there is really no recipe for the chicken gorgonzola that I do.l Basically I grill chicken breast and cut into bite size pieces, steam broccoli and toss with pasta.....I used the small bowtie pasta this time. Make a basic white sauce but add garlic and gorgonzola cheese. Mix it all together and it's done. Actually a friend of mine in Gainesville and I would have this when we went to lunch. We worked together trying to duplicate the recipe and that is what we finally came up with....the place where we would go to have it puts toasted pecans in theirs but we didn't think it added that much.

Got my cornbeef cooking for tomorrow. No, not doing the long method..bought one at the store and simmering with add spices is about all I will do today..veggies cooked tomorrow.

Debbie, please be careful with all this traveling back and forth.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie, I agree with Marion, don't over do it, and please get plenty of rest before you take off!
Betty, knowing you, I bet you will have that machine set up, and have one quilt done before you leave for Florida!

Lyndonville, NY

my appointments will have to wait.

Quick note:

Took Shannon to Strong. She was admitted. Blood clot in arm and neck and systemic infection they believe.. Think she has something called Leimerre's Disease, which is very rare and very dangerous.

I am home to change and grab a bag, staying at the hospital. Will update when I can.

Debbie

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Debbie, keeping you all in my prayers. Please remember to take care of yourself during all of this.....easier said than done, I know. Please try.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Big sigh, how horrible Debbie, certainly can see why you are putting off the looking after 'you'. Am sure you are running on pure adrenaline.

Prayers being said for all of you..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Leimerre's..just went and read about it, barely read through it Debbie..there just are no words..

mulege, Mexico

Debbie - Sending prayers and big hugs. love, katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie, wish I was there to give you hugs! Sending lots of prayers!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Debbie - has he put Shannon on blood thinners to break up the clot? What a scary time for you, Shannon and family...... You're in my prayers.

Betty - now that you managed to fit the table in your car, here's hoping you can fit it in the sewing room

Marion - how nice to have finally gotten out to go shopping! Now, time to rest, young lady!!

Good thoughts and prayers for Shannon and you and the family Debbie.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Marion, are you paying for today's walk with pain? Heard how nice it was today, real spring day, keep the warmth for another week please. Doubtful I can take a side trip, Darlene wants to be home before Easter weekend so imagine it will be 4 days of rest, one packing up and homeward bound. Wish I could though.

No doubt the frame will fit, right now it sits in the car until morning..will not be put together until I return from Florida..now woulnt be opposed if an elf came and put it together while I'm away. Aren't you proud of me LindaKay for not attempting to do it be myself?

Stew was yummy, going to make a coffee and bring it and cinnamon roll to bed..would give anything to sleep until 6am

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)
