Hey Liz,,nice to see you posting. Sorry to hear about the dogs. Our husky we used to have chewed a lot too,,after we had him fixed, he stopped doing that.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today??chat with friends
no things not looking good there we may have to move no canada this year :(
hi linda, both of them are fixed just brats!
they just push our buttons lol
how are you and your dad and new puppy doing..
We are doing good. Dad is in Michigan with my Sister, and they had to put him in. Nursing home. He had surgery on his leg to replace a vein, and it is not healing, so he was admitted to a nursing home. Just yesterday, my Sister was informed that the toe they removed has a massive infection in it, so it looks like he may have to have the foot removed. Just lack of circulation is making things bad for him.
Oh my God lindaKay, that is dreadful, here you were hoping amputation did not have to go further. Sending prayers to both of you..here is hoping infection somehow clears.
Liz, not good news at all..is it because of all the goings on with Grannie and family? You've been there many years thinking it would be yours..how overwhelming that must be.
Sending more prayers Linda.
Thanks for the prayers everyone!
Afternoon,
Rita and a few friends dropped in to celebrate my birthday..ready for a nap.
I understand a second group will be coming over in a bit..this is tiring me out lol
Did get more $$$ for my quilting frame. Rita's brother is a wildlife artist, made a birthday card with loons, got to find a way to frame it!
Would love to see a picture of the Loons card! Get a much bigger frame and put a colored matt around the card....will present nicely.
Prayers for you Lind Kay. My sister Phyllis whom I haven't seen in about ten yrs is coming Friday Evening. Can't hardly wait. WOOO HOO> She lives in Newton Kansas. BEV
Thanks Bev.
Oh I bet your going to enjoy her visit! I can see you both hugging each other, ans staying up late just chatting away!
I'm so happy for you Bev..life seems to be getting on track for you, makes me feel warm inside knowing you again have joy in your life..
well, for those of you who know the gals in my life you know there is never a dull moment with them around..
Started out great, pizza dip, the loveliest white chocolate cake..just what I didn't need, had enough cake to feed them all and they bring yet another..
Pat's husband Don made me the loveliest stained glass piece..says "LOVE"
How could you resist the 'hot' pizza dip and cake
and got an envelope $200 US funds from them..finished paying my Gracie Frame..will order first thing in the a.m. lol
Ann painted a muskoka chair for a church draw but the back was too far off, almost felt like you were laying instead of sitting so we, not just me, thought it was because the rungs were put on wrong..now remember before painting she filled the holes where the screws were so off we went on a tangent trying to fix it..first we had to drill the screws out...what a job, even had to axe saw as one got stripped, what a mess only to determine wasn't the problem..arm holes drilled in wrong place so by the time we finished we ruined the fish and sent the chair home in pieces for Aline's hubby to fix (I'm sure he'll be impressed) NOT..
June just watched Ann, Aline and myself drill, edging us on while Pat thought we should wait..should have waited
Pat did some beautiful pieces she brought to show me..
picnic placemats, ties up when travelling
did a cowboy quilt for her grandson
I probably have about 2 hrs. to finish quilting the morning glory quilt but after my afternoon visit I'm just sooo tired..going to tidy up, bath and just relax..quilt can wait until another day or one never knows what I can do when not being able to sleep!
Been quite a weekend..who would have thought I'd get enough $$ to buy the frame without putting in a penny..Lord sure has blessed me with family and friends.
Sounds like a busy but perfect week end for your Birthday Betty! Love all the sewing projects going on!
It certainly was LindaKay..perfect came to mind..
Rita who gave me a birthday card her brother had sketched Canada geese on it wrote very touching words on it..she is about 8-10 years my junior..said
'I aspire to be just like you when I grow up'
Touching!
Oh Betty!! How wonderful for you. I'm happy you had such a grand birthday.
Both Norm and I are so thrilled to see the smile on Ann's face. She has had such a hard time of it and that smile is so precious. I may need to copy that photo to go with the ones of all the rest of my online friends.....
So funny you say that, showed them my round robin quilt, she fell in love with your outer edge with the birds..ohh'ed and awe'ed..told her you did it, she said to say it was her favorite and how did she know who did it??
Hello To All ;
Oh Betty.. you seem to know when I'm stressing. Although I think we worked through some of those issues today here....
I can't wait to turn 65 ! now that I see what a wonderful birthday it is ! Love Rita's words.... I would say the same myself...
Dianne need a walk with you I suppose... will lower the stress level. How is our Diesel doing? Still running full steam ahead ?
LK I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad... Prayers sent.
Bev happy you are doing well ... I truly think of you every time I see my daylilies
Jean did you cover up last night? Northern friends... our winter waited till last night to send our coldest temp. 27 last night. Yard looks burnt but not everything lost. And it looked like Spring prior.
Next Sunday we will have Everyone over for the year's first Crawfish Boil / Trifecta of birthdays: DS21, DSGF20 and nephew 20. We will number about 16 which will include DS GF's family (her very strict Dad has never been to our house) Brock says he is nervous but I am so glad he wanted this for his birthday... with good weather (hoping) it will be in the backyard
Last year his birthday was a disaster.... we need to heal.
Tried a new recipe today for Crock Pot French Dip Sandwiches and they were good.....
Hugs
Mary
My goodness Mary, seems all those in attendance will be celebrating their birthday. Lol. That is the way to do it. Glad some of your stress is lessening, been a long time coming. Let's hope what froze in the garden will revive itself once sunshine and warmth returns. How is Lance coming along with the engine?
Morning everyone!
Betty, looks like your not sleeping again?
Not.. did manage to doze off for another hour or so.
I know, I know, go to doctor..headache and sore throat this morning..this bug I caught just doesn't want to leave..half the community has the same..am sure it will pass..just took benylin and tylenol..drugging myself..lol
How long did you say she will be staying Bev..will you get to do anything special!
Were they the trees in front of your house near all those gorgeous gardens Bev?
Yes, Betty - you know the "dryl" lol
Bev - what a beautiful tree! Wouldn't have thought such a mature tree would be lost to a drought. So sad.
Excited as can be, just ordered my Grace Frame, lazer stylus, leader cloths..all I need to start..am sure more wants will come later..gee whiz what's the next $$$ giving celebration, oh yes, Mothers' Day..lol
Believe Debbie is on her way to Ohio for more testing..sure hope all goes well..been a long road for her and now more worry!
lol think maybe they spent all the Mother's Day $$ on you for your birthday?!?! LOL
Nah...... they wouldn't do that!
I sure hope Debbie's tests come out alright. Wonder how long before she'll know?
fantastic birthday pressie Betty. LUCKY YOU ^_^ what are you going to charge to do our quilts?? LOL I can just imagine the art work that will come from your machine!!
wishing Debbie safe journey, sending gentle hugs ♥♥♥
very cold here today , we had freeze warnings last night YUCK :(
No no Betty, I am home. I don't leave til the 13th!!! Today is for Shannon. She is having some nasty health issues, and we are chasing down
doctors between Rochester & Buffalo.
AND my test is on the 14th and will find out on the 15th what they will do.
Thank you for the good thoughts.
you know me Thunder, I wouldn't want to count on earning $$$ from it lol
Debbie, that young lady sure has been through a lot..praying you find the doctor today..I just don't know how you do it! Please post when you've news re Shannon.
you are made of strong stuff,
marking the 14th on my calendar..
28 lovely degrees when I got up at 7 this morning. Good day to stay bundled up and work inside.
Lordy that is cold Marion..is this normal for this time of year. Darlene's cousin is flying in this afternoon, she was wondering how she was going to break to him the news that the weather is on a cooling trend lol
I've got dates all mixed up..when do you see the physician to see what the next step will be and IF you can go back to driving on your own?
Betty, we can all keep you busy doing our quilting for us! We send you our quilts, you earn money for more crafts or fabric??? ^_^
Betty - I want to get on that bandwagon, and have YOU quilt my projects!! lol
Debbie - sending prayers and good thoughts for Shannon AND you.
woo hoo! I don't have to go out today, except to pick Bob up! I was supposed to go to the church to help our pastor with his printer, but he's thrown his back out (poor man! He was out shovelling in this Heavy snow!).
I was also going out on Tues & Wed to an Employment workshop, but as I'm newly registered with another Gov't workshop, I will see them on Mar 13th, and cannot be also registered with the 1st one (that would be "double dipping" and so I will cancel the registration with the first.).
The 2nd one has Employment placement, which the 1st one doesn't. They will help this old gal get work!! yaaaaaaaaay
Marion - get out your woolies! I'll send you a parka, k?
Let's just hope it's not a 'gadget' lol
did speak with several fabric shops and read up, seems to be what I'd need..NOT going to spend 25-30K for sure. If I can do my quilts easily them I'll be thrilled. worth a try
yes, certainly worth a try.
I know a few people with grace frames, and they seem to love them....
I have a grace frame that I LOVE, butttttt it is for HAND quilting.
yes cold in Florida today. I am sitting here with two sweatshirts on!! 42 out side and rising.....does not seem to be rising inside tho!!!!
Actually no this isn't usual for this time of year. The sun is really bright and there is no wind so it truly isn't all that bad outside.
Tomorrow we are suppose to get into the mid 70s but Wednesday it is only suppose to be in the mid 50...strange weather indeed!
Betty, I see the doctor tomorrow regarding my knee and should have more information then. I can drive just not allowed long trips like to see mom.
Good to know Thunder..the deep throat Husqvarna worked great doing the morning glory quilt, I'm quite impressed..however the moving of the fabric (just better than a double sized quilt) got my shoulder ache going again so know I'd not be able to do many using the meandering method on it and I've 5 tops ready to quilt, will give anything a try.
Throat acting up so benylin it is..will doctor myself up tonight in hopes it doesn't get any further into my system.
Aren't I a cry baby..had this thing for several weeks and tired of it.
Thunder, let's hope the cold front doesn't last long, want to be in shorts come end of month lol
Time certainly has passed quickly, seems like yesterday that I drove Darlene to Florida for 3 month stay and here it is, time to pick her up
