Good news, Victor.
Just heard, second surgery to drain a 5x4cm void of spinal fluid and blood is scheduled for 2pm PST. Since Hope and Markus don't have school today and it will be in the 50's this afternoon we are going to the zoo. Markus didn't know what a zoo was, so this will be quite an adventure!!!
Coffee Break # 93
Praying everything goes well with 2nd surgery
glad your mil was released
Good news, Victor!
Jan, sending a hug and praying all will be well with your DDIL. How was the trip to the zoo?
glad to hear it Victor.. hope the zoo was good Jan.. will keep praying for her!
Yes, Jan....praying she's fine....And hopefully you & your wife must be feeling better about things, Victor...
Just got back from the zoo. Fun times, spring is in the air and some of the animals were kind of frisky, especially the giraffes. There was a sweet, baby elephant named Lily. She was born the end of November. Markus was looking forward to seeing the giraffes and got excited when he came around a corner and saw one.
DS called right after we got home and said Royale was out of surgery. The surgeon did not find spinal fluid, thankfully, but a little blood and other clear fluid, so he put in a drain. Apparently he looked very thoroughly for spinal fluid, but the team watched as tissue fluids filled in the void. He told DS some people are juicier(for lack of a better word). He is leaving for Phoenix for a conference and wants to keep her in the hospital til he gets back on Monday. This surgeon has been recommended by many especially other health professionals as the one they would want. feel very confident with him.
Thank you all for your support.

confident in who is helping you means a lot.. best to her!
Sounds positive!
Happy to hear that, Jan! Also happy that your outing to the zoo was fun. Still sending prayers and a hug!
Glad to hear things are looking better for Jan and Victor loved ones!
I love the zoo, can't wait to take Domenic this year.
Good news, Jan....haven't been to Bronx Zoo in many years.....my grandkids go every year, Grant loves the snakes.
So, PT came in this morning and was able to have her get out of bed and stand and move a bit. So, we are now at the point we had hoped to be on Thursday. Recovery starts now! Charles and I are switching places tonight, so he can get a full night's sleep and spend time with the kids. Ugh, time change tonight!!!
Wonderful news, Jan! Hang in there....I can't imagine how tired you must be.
Not easy!
Hahaha, methinks the tired part hasn't even started yet!!
Oh Dear! Take care of yourself too!
Things are progressing nicely. She has gotten out of bed twice so far this evening, since her catheter was removed. Second time was easier than the first. The drainage is slowing down, so I think the surgeon will be pleased on Monday. Pain levels are lower, too. Praising God
So glad to finally hear that Jan! Prayers for a smooth recovery from here on!!!
So happy to hear the good news, Jan....
I'm glad that she is feeling better.
Good sign the pain levels are lower, will make the PT easier.
I've been trying to convince my husband that if he rearranged the family room (his man cave) it would double in size and we would have more room for over a year or more. I finally talked him in to it by using the grandkids as leverage...explained that the girls would be able to do there gymnastics and flips and Domenic (his little buddy) would have more room to play and crawl/walk around...worked like a charm....sectional was delivered today!!
Enjoy the new furniture, Ronnie....Allison, that's so cute! Hope the chimes are sweet-sounding.
Lots of nice Callas on sale here:

Heehee, Ronnie. Whatever it takes!
Cute, Allison
That's cute Allison I'd love one in a teapot!
Cool thanks!
Check out Flea Market Gardening page on facebook, great ideas, with plates, saucers, fairy gardens, etc.... too stinking cute!
out xcountry skiing yesterday and came across a garter snake - a little early as there is still a foot of snow on the ground and bad for the snake as a snowmobile had run it over and injured it severely.
Whoa! Snakes are coldblooded......they shouldn't be out until April.....that was a real dumb one.....My son called last night & said his 8 year was jumping moguls at Mt. Snow, & running her skis down the steel bars & jumping.....Ulp....glad I didn't see that!
Eek!.....all the way around.
I love snakes!
Dear Victor, I cannot profess to be surprised! I recall that it is deer that you abhor. 😉
Like em here too...my son had many as a pet when he was a kid.
I like most things people hate, including spiders, sharks, snakes, lots of bugs.
Don't like spiders near me, but, yet I am drawn to their webs in fascination. I like to feel snake skin.
Is it the practice at hospitals now to only have 'room service'? When DDIL wants a meal she calls room service, orders, and it arrives very quickly and freshly made. We are impressed with the service and the staff and the care she has been receiving. Granted, one of us has stayed with her 24/7. Looks like she will come home tomorrow. The surgeon removed her drain this afternoon and she will get a shower this evening. Feel like a new woman she will. Heehee.
wow that's nice.. better than getting your food delivered while you are napping
My Mom had her food delivered when she was sleeping....but, I must say it was much better than the the last time I was in the hospital.....cooked fresh.....everything I was given was frozen cardboard.....
Man , Jan! premium service! That's news to me.
