Did I miss something... what tests for the baby?

Thomaston, CT

Have a safe trip, Jan.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Thank you!!!!! I am sure I will. Layover in Minneapolis St Paul will get to portland about midnight.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I'm on my new PC. I left the new monitor at work even though I wrote sticky notes to remind me to take it home. I thought I would get faster internet with a better computer. I'm not sure it is any faster. :(

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Check your Internet speed, Mem. Many sites do it. Maybe that is your problem.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

My kids have finally thrown out their duck tape wallets :) You can expect this generation of kids to still take duck tape with them to college.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Target sells dozens of kinds of pretty plastic tape- Now I know why.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Have a safe trip Jan!!

Hank and I really enjoyed meeting Roses are Red and her DH today. They were passing through on their way to the Beach, so we met for lunch. They are Keepers! 😄

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Yes, Jan...be safe and I hope DDIL's surgery goes well.

Thomaston, CT

How nice, Louise! Friends of mine went to Sanibel last week, his brother lives there year round.....

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Just read no rescue or recovery for the sink-hole tragedy.
They are just leaving him in there.

Thomaston, CT

What a way to go....really bizarre!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

DD#1 Lives in Fla and says the whole state is a sponge.

Thomaston, CT

True.....newscast had a US map in red where sinkholes could appear....the entire state of FL was red....no red in CT, probably because of the bedrock being granite.....

Thomaston, CT

Just something of possible interest.....my son's FIL owned Waterbury Companies, & one of the factories was Waterbury Button, they made brass buttons for every possible use.....the rare ones are in Mattatuck Museum, but Garret framed a few interesting ones for his office....Titanic uniforms & Confederate Army replicas are a few he has framed.....

That's a pretty cool thing to have Marilyn.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Like old buttons!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Me too. I have been to the Museum in Waterbury and they have a completely fabulous button collection on display.

Thomaston, CT

Yep, all from the same company....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My grandmother was a beader. She actually worked on First Lady Wilson's dress for the second inauguration.

Thomaston, CT

Wow...very difficult craft!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Those are very nice, Marilyn, and very attractively presented. We have some antique brass buttons - mostly military, and I'm thinking they too were likely made in Waterbury. I love the look of them too.

Thomaston, CT

When Carl still owned the company, my son got him to make the brass buttons that are for the Masters Golf Tournament....Garret gave them to my brother who was a rabid golfer before the Parkinson's attacked him.....

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Very interesting about the buttons!!!

Louise, glad you got to meet RRR and her DH. I agree, they are keepers!!

Thank you, all. Frosty here this morning, but sun shining brightly. Learning the routine and directions to places. Fell in love with my new grandson. He is very cute. They are finding 'holes' in his development. He seems to be a happy kid and obedient. DDIL says that there was abuse from his grandmother including possible shaken baby which would explain some of the developmental holes. He's very coordinated. He is fitting in with DS's family. Markus's father seems to be happy with my son and DIL so will be allowing the adoption to proceed. Please continue to pray. Also for DDIL's surgery. She is very freaked out about it, but keeps hearing great things about the surgeon. That relieves her somewhat.

Glad you got to meet RRR and her hubby...we love them!!!!

How terrible!!!! will be praying

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Thank you, dear.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Someone should shake that Grandmother! Prayers on the way.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Thank you. The father can't take care of his son, but also knew he didn't want his mother caring for the boy either. Markus is 6 yr.old. He will probably be in kindergarten next year, too.

My fifteen yr old grandson has grown so much. He has to duck going through some doors. Someone at church yesterday had found a pair of size 19 Nike shoes and gave them to Nick. He was very excited. What a blessing. I need to be on the look out for pants with a 38" inseam.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

HOLEY MOLEY that is one tall kid!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Jan my DIL is a nurse and works with kids that are severely mentally challenged most are from abuse. She said one of the hardest parts is when the abusive biological parent wants the child back and gets them. Keeping your son in my prayers for a wonderful outcome!

Thomaston, CT

Markus is a lucky child to be adopted into such a wonderful home your son & DIL will give him....praying for the family.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow, prayers, Jan.

Horrible stories in the news. First, the couple doing to the hospital to give birth and they get killed in a car crash. Baby was taken, but died a day later.

Closer to home, only miles away, a woman stabbed her daughter repeatedly then stabbed herself to death. Girl was found hours later, but somehow survived. Bizarrely, the woman's sister had killer her own son!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

So sad...precisely why I don't watch the news!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Thanks everybody!!!
