Tank gawwd a new thread.
Thanks Pixie
Welcome Jo :)
I see Wegmans Foodstore was 5th on the Fortune 100 best places to work list.
I don't know about working conditions, but I love their eating conditions! Bought a new variety of apple the other day...Pinata....it was good, a yellow delicious cross, I suspect.
nice to see you again BA!!
Hi BA welcome back!
This crappy weather has really got me down, haven't seen the sun for what seems like a week :-(
Me too, Ronnie. I have a second kitchen in the basement. When it was being put together, the construction people wanted to put in 2 recessed florescent light fixtures (2 bulbs each) but I insisted on 4. When the days are dreary, I spend time down there and the light does me a world of good.
I need to go hang out @ Terri's 2nd kitchen. ^_^
welcome back BA.
That was very nice ot them allison.
NRA membership is up 250,000 in the last month. http://now.msn.com/nra-membership-up-250000-in-month-since-sandy-hook
I've been reading about winter "light therapy" for years, probably you all have, as well.
A recent article was interesting: a compact flourescent bulb ( $6 at Walgreens, probably even cheaper at Home Depot or Lowe's) that is nearly full spectrum, is almost just as effective as those fancy, expensive light boxes, and the bulb screws into a standard lamp.
The light bulb usually has a name, like "Daylight."
How nice of your neighbors, Allison!!!
I can totally understand the depression of many in the pacific northwest caused by the dreariness of lack of sunshine.
I just got up from a nap, great day for sleeping in!
I need to go hang out @ Terri's 2nd kitchen. ^_^
me too!! For the light AND the food!!!
Allison, that was wonderful of them!
Wegmans motto is the employee is number one. They figure if employees are happy, then they'll treat costumers better. David used to work for their hardware store and said it was the best.
Good to know......
They are always pleasant and helpfull. The employees like the store. However I am not so enchanted. You have all heard my rants about pirated products that show up under the Wegmans brand in an inferior form.
True....I guess you have to be careful no matter where you shop these days!
ICK and ICK some more!!! I always check the labels!

Part of me is shocked; part of me isn't.
I read this on another thread...didn't know you could do it...
Just found that by going to My Tools, Preferences, DG Picture, I can chose from a couple dozen pictures to appear along the top of the home page. Be sure to select, then go all the way down to save it.
And we wonder why there are so many outbreaks of e-coli illness?
http://www.naturallifemagazine.com/9712/sludge.htm We do it here too, but process it first.
Well if you have city water that is processed sewer water
but here in the US it's regulated and not widespread
Tagro is very popular in the northwest. Milorganite is also used a lot
The CHina article says ten percent of the population depends on crops grown this way. Yeah, and half the population does not know what it means to have normal digestion (non diarrhea)
Hey luvs I wrote that and now I have the snowy horsey on my header! Kinda fun.
I just cannot eat Swai because ''they say'' it can live in sewage. So that all I can picture when I see frozen farmed swai filets ffrom china/ vietnam...
Cool, Ronnie - thanks!
Geez can't even go shopping anymore!!!

Bloodbath & Beyond...

Good grief.....folks all have rage dsorder? What's going on?
You always have to be on your guard. Too many crazies out there. We need to be building more mental hospitals.
I agree.More trained personal too.Its a job that has a short life.as I see it.
We can put billions into sports stadiums.
Our hospitals were in terrible shape in the 60's.Many closed .
Yes, that was the problem - but they just released all the patients instead of fixing the problem. Most homeless are mental patients.
I think it was Ronald Reagans idea.
Nonsense. Started way before that.

I have said to myself far too often."we live in a violent age"I dont know what my grandchildren will inherit and I pray they are smart enough and flexable enough and strong enough to survive.
