Can't remember Jean if I've ever seen the real ones other than in Disney complexes and Busch gardens, with all my trips south I must have.

Darlene is resting, will wake her when patti arrives..I think Darlene will buy a place while here for 3 months, think she will like being out of the snow now that Mike is not there to look after all that comes with winter.

She said I'd have to quit work and spend winters in warm climate..doubtful unless I bought my down place as well..

As much as you enjoy travel and spending time with friends, I doubt you would be comfortable living with someone else 24/7 for an extended period....housemates come with "obligations" of a sort and you are a bit of a "free bird".

Well, that house only has 7 beds, and 8 & 1/2 bath's, I think it may get cramped after a bit! ^_^

Morning everyone! Hope your all warm, and feeling well! I still have the crud, but feeling a bit better today! Got up, took a long hot shower, and finally got dressed! I have been in my jammies since Christmas day. All I would do is get up, take a shower, put on fresh jammies, get a hot cup of coffee or tea, take my meds, and go back to bed.

Betty, sounds like your having a great time in Florida, but if your driving back with your new friend, don't buy too much, or you will be mailing it all back to Canada! Or renting a small U-haul! ^_^

Good you are feeling better LK. Stay warm....we had a light freeze here last night...the bird bath froze over....the cardinals were not happy this morning.

Linda Kay, I am glad you can see how I would be "lowering my standards" with that cramped space! I sure hope you feel better.

OK, I have a stupid question. One of our neighbors....the one DS & DH has been helping move back from FL & mow his mothers lawn....is having
an open house today. He has invited DH and I, and well....I have NEVER been to an open house in my life.

What is the protocol for such a thing? Do I need to bring a gift? It is from 2:00 to 6:00 p..m. He is very theatrical so I am just not sure what to expect.

Hello dear hearts.... I am back for a moment or two.... Christmas was wonderful, but knocked the puddin right out of me.. and it is taking me forever to get myself back to par... My Sciatica is really giving me a fit, and I cannot sit for more than just a few moments at a time. My daughter, her hubby and my grandson came up to spend a few days with us... and we had Larry's aunt Hazel in for Christmas as well.. Lots of cooking and I just was not feeling well, but did not want to let on even to Larry.... The day the kids went home, I went back to bed and slept 26 hours straight through...

We are leaving for Missouri for a few days just to get away... and will stay at Larry's old place there.... so got to think of what food to pack up in the cooler... I don't want to go shopping in Poplar Bluff cuz I spent toooo much money there... Besides, I would love to just sit and read ..... Larry is going to Poplar Bluff to see his doctor there...and we will visit with lots of his kin there too... I am looking forward to going.. But no computer, no tv..just a radio... and that' so okay with me..

From reading all the posts, y'all h ad a grand Christmas... and that is wonderful... Merry Christmas and a Wondermous New Year to y'all..

Wow, we must have all been busy today - no one has been here since this morning.

Stopped snowing in the night, finally. Dave the plow guy came in at first light so the lane is clear. I haven't seen this much snow at one time in years.Diesel and Quill are having a blast snow plowing through it all.

Betty it sounds like there will be lots for Darlene to do after you leave. What a small world it turns out to be - Betty goes to Florida, meets someone who lives near her in Ontario and gets a ride back to Canada with the person, new sewing machine on tow. My sweet dad was sitting on a park bench in Hawaii several years ago and started talking to the other person on the bench. Turns out in my Behavioural Consultant job with the Toronto School Board of Education I had been in this guy's classroom the week before working with an autistic child.See, it really is a small world.

What are every ones' plans for New Years Eve? Plan to have a quiet one here - still have lots of DVDs to watch.

Waving to all, was so sure I posted but guess I didn't..

Yes Dianne, is a small world indeed..Patti is a lovely woman, likes to travel and good natured! She has to be out of her accommodations tomorrow night so will stay here..she has no plans that we have to leave for home before weekend so we shall see, might decide to stay till Saturday. Who wants to work on Monday..kidding of course, plan is to leave Friday morning.all kidding aside it will be 1 year since Mike's death on Thursday so would like to be here for her and yes, I know it will be supper hard for her, will just have to mind my manners and let things slide.

Likely should stay much longer as I'm draining the bank account with my shopping lol.

Great breakfast at IHOP, flea market I managed to buy a new purse and a few other things..found the Quild lovers Hangout, lovely quilt shop, could have hung out there all day..they had a book and several patterns to use the mini, the medium and large twister templates so $70 later I left but there was such more I wanted.

We stopped a Joann's as Darlene wanted a beach bag so I bought lovely bright fabric with parrots and palm trees..having coffee then I just might cut out the bag.

Dianne you asked what was happening new years..no celebrating here..I'll likely be in bed by 8am..always memories come to mind how my new years wish was that Roger go to the lord which he did late new years day so I just let the day go bye like any other.

Did you work on the candle holder Barb?

ohhh Man ! I can see a bunch of sewing machines on that deck !!!! sure would be fun...sew a little, walk the beach, take a dip...sew a little yeah I could get into that big time!!! ^_^

new years eve will be calm and quiet here, maybe a drink or two.....

Nice and quiet here too. The neighborhood will probably be lit up with fireworks, but with me not feeling well, I will be snuggled up on the sofa, watching some fireworks through the window.
