Ohhh Linda Kay! That just breaks my heart! Poor baby is very very sick. One of our DG friends, Kelly, has started a dog rescue, I think she is out her way. Going to email her for you...and see if she can give you advice on the right meds and all that. She has saved so many. I am not familiar with the tick fever, but know heartworms can be horrible. Thankfully she is young and hopefully can fight this.
