Oooh how old is Luna LindaKay, she is gorgeous..was it a hard decision to get another dog? Bet you fell in love with her instantly. Maybe it's the change in homes, she is a bit confused having new caregivers,,likely why she was sick..
Pick me, pick me for the fudge..will have to try the recipe, love fudge but if I make it and it stays here, guess who will eat it all?
Best/Worse/What did I learn today! chat with friends!
You beat me to the punch Barb, looks like fudge is a favorite to both of us!
We knew when we lost our Karoosh, we would want another dog, and when I saw Luna, I knew she was coming home with me! She is a sweety pie, she loves to get in your lap, and give big hugs, and she sleeps on the foot of the bed! She was born on 9-11-2011, so she is just a little over one year!
DO NOT give Betty that fudge, she will be up dancing on the tables in no time!
lol Enjoy your day with the family.
Linda, saw Luna on FB, she is a beauty. I love shepards, DH...not so much. I had one when we got married and almost
got un-married real quick over that dog. First fight we ever had. She was not nice to men/males/boys at all.
Still cleaning and painting here. Might find my little tree today and put it up somewhere. Doesn't seem worth it for 8 days.
Debbie
Bet Luna makes your heart sing..funny how upon meeting a kittie or dog that you just know it's the one for you..
Not dressed yet, but did get the gifts that are going today to the back door..I'm amazed, they are about 1/3..the other 1/3rd already delivered, 1/3rd picked up and waiting for me to put my name on i n the city and the last 1/3 sits under the tree..I can actually use the living room now..
we've had freezing rain..drats..sure hope it starts to melt..am sure highways will be fine..besides I'm NOT driving but will have to remind Greg to slow down..lol he's a speedster
Photo 1 - gifts waiting to go with us this morning
Photo 2 - finished twister runner
Photo 3- picture didn't turn out well - Niece Danielle, her hubby Jason and Ariana
cozy'ing up
Photo 4- Suzanne's Christmas Quilt
Finished the twisted 2 blocks that I did, will be on the lookout for mega plain christmas fabric in beige or off white so I can do an entire quilt in this fashion for next year..love how plain blocks turned into wreaths.I'll keep it as a throw for back bedroom but should someone unexpected drop by, guess I'll have a gift waiting..do have 1 more runner to finish for neighbors across the street but I only need it done before Thursday..I've done so many that in part of a day I've got one cut/quilted and binding sewn..maybe I should be on piece work
Debbie, once you get the tree out, get some of your mom's decorations out you will get in the spirit..just remember, good memories only..
are you saying overdose on sugar is what does it??? lol
boy it's amazing how some of you know me
Sending you hugs Debbie
Love that apron, is that the pattern you got in Frankenmuth? How big are the twisted wreath blocks?
Well I will add my name to the fudge list..bet there isn't any left. LOL
Beautiful pictures Betty.....lovely gifts indeed.
Debbie, we haven't gotten a tree up yet either but hopefully we will today. Even tho' we are leaving it will be here when we return and can enjoy it thru New Years. My sister will not have a tree nor any decorations so we feel like we need a little something here!
Hope all are doing well, healthy and not over doing things today.
Barb, sending a huge hug for you and Norm....remembering the days when we..............well you know.
Oh LK you outd did yourself with your Santa Warren gifts. Quill and Diesel LOVE you!!! Especially the Waggin Train Big Blast.... where did you get those? The 2 of them just went nuts over them and each one lasted a long time. The first thing I unwrapped was the angel and I started to laugh. She has curly hair just like me. There were 2 gorgeous red tea towels with cardinals on them plus a quilted mat. The Thomas Kincade mug filled with tea and cookies was great. LK even taped some candy on the tea package. The chocolates were delicious. *Grin* There was a lovely smelling candy with a beautiful lampshade that has chickadees and cardinals on it. And LK remembered I like to colour so there were 2 Mini poster kits in the box as well.Post away LK. I am sorry I took so long to reply, but I am mot spending much time at the cpmputer right now with this dizziness. Thank you LK. I just loved my box of goodies!!!
Congratulations to the newlyweds. Wishing them peace, happiness and harmony.
Betty, how are you feeling with the meds?
SANTA WARREN NEWS ALERT for Crissy, Judy and Bev - I have been asked to tell you that your parcels are winging their way to you as I sit here.
I will take a piece of fudge too :) LK Luna is beautiful, I can picture you sitting with her on your lap!!! I love German Shepard's
Betty I really love those wreaths !! and Ariana sure looks pleased with her apron. I can see a block I did in that quilt, always fun when that happens :)
our little tree is up, butttttt only because we keep it up all of the time ^_^ ... Halloween quilt still on sofa, I really need to get a Christmas one finished !!! think I have three of them in different phases of unfinished.
Hugs to all ♥♥♥
Evening all,
What a wonderful day, fun was had by all!! Jeff and Julie outdid themselves. N the food department..Jeff fibbed, said it was being. Catered only because he knew that with this being the bussiest time of year in her store that I'd fret and want to do the meal myself. Lordy what a feast..julie is a great cook and baker..I must have put on 5 lbs just tonight
Everyone loved their gifts..enjoyed seeing everyone ohh and ahh..Jeff's boys bought me an obus form massage shiatsu for the chair. We will see if it helps or if it creates more problems for my back and shulders, am almost tempted to use it before heading to bed. The rest was $$$ either for my trip or towards a sewing machine..boys were far too generous..
Jeff showing my step-father Jim the canoe paddles he carves..
this one will be for Caleb who does portages in the north country..still a few ounces to be sanded before it's ready, when asked when he knows it's ready Jeff tells us it has to balance on 1 finger..
Then Jeff had to show mom the hellicopter she bought him for Christmas..apparently it will fly to great heights, so far only 3 feet off the ground lol
Hello To All !
Oh Betty beautiful gifts placemats and quilts. What a great idea the apron and all... cutie pie. Did you grow an extra grandson ? Or was there one I've forgotten... boys are getting big...
Dianne! LK did so good! Love your gifts can't wait to see them ! Big Smile reading your post...
LK - that was the fudge .... Joyce posted the recipe on? I'd love to try it... even though I'm not a "sweets" person...
Luna is precious... I do love German Shepards since I had one from birth through age 11 or so...Patsy helped raise us.
Oh Thunder too funny your tree is up all year. Why not Huh! Christmas joy 365 days.
Too funny Deb... maybe the dog knew something you didn't ROFLOL....
Stressful weekend. DSD in town = Drama. Must just make it through a few more days.
Hugs
Mary
Boys looking a the mason jar filled with moonshine..novelty item I found would you believe at Duty Free
Noah with his snowboard ornament..drats I had forgotten to enclose a card to say that this tree ornament is a reminder that I got him a seasons pass at Horshoe Valley ski resort..think he felt better after everyone getting gifts that he wasn't simply getting a tree ornament
girls had bag after bag to open, boys complained as to why they didn't but Greg/Kyle each got their snowmobile passes which comprise of a sticker..can't have everything..of course they love to tease, not dissapointed at all
More of the gang
Cooks were at it..
Mary, we had a shepard when I was little...from birth to about 12. Had another a few years after we got married, I stole him from one of my sisters neighbors, he was very cruel to the dog, I could not stand it, so when I was visiting my sister, I took the dog with me when I left, He was very scared of hubs for awhile, but they soon became great friends....Sam, He was an awesome dog.
tree looks wonderful in front of seldom used fire place.. I will try to remember to take a few pictures tomorrow.
Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas Betty ^_^
No Mary, Julie has a son 'Tristen' and a daughter 'Sage'
All about the same age and all blend in beautifully..
Sage put up with the boys shenanigans all evening , teens lol
I was glad that mom and Jim came..they enjoyed their gifts as well,
wasn't one that didn't
Then the night came to a close..but not before Jeff loaded the sony e-reader Ann bought for one of her daughters..he put 1,600 books on it..wouldn't be a Christmas gathering he said if he wasn't doing something with computers..just know Ann will appreciate it
Think the kids were all hoping they would get to open all their gifts tonight but no, only grandma's
Now I can relax, few more gifts for me to deliver and visit with friends then Christmas 2012 is 'fini'
Now I get to hear about and see photo's of all your families..looking forward to it..
I had a german sheppard when I was but a babe..was better than a baby sitter..Roger and I also had one, he was a man's dog though..when the babies would cry and I'd go in to check on them he wouldn't put up a fuss in me leaving the room but I had best not try to come back into the room..got to be alarming soooo Roger took him to work as a guard dog.
Mary, drama will soon be over..regular schedule once Christmas and New Years is over..
ohhh Dianne, can't wait to see photo's of your pressies..think Linda Kay took some right?
that's awesome Betty the kids all blended in.... that's how it was when I married DH.... BIL has 2 girls and a boy.... so the girls matched up with DH's two.... but they needed an 'extra' boy and that's what I had to offer....
They still all match up perfectly and my DS really loves his boy cousin... Drew. Drew is easily 6'6".... he's a nice kid and he and DS hang out at all the family gatherings. He is a year younger than DS...
Yes you are right... DSD1 should leave soon, return after the new Year, and DSD2 will be here mid week.... Since DSD1 won't be here for Christmas Hubs had it all worked out for MIL and FIL to come by today 11;30 to give her gifts.
She went partying last night and no where to be found all morning, the gathering cancelled and finally Hubs a nervous wreck tracked her down ... she "slept in and her phone broke". That's just a small sample of the drama.
A wonderful christmas Gathering Betty ! Thunder... Kudos to you for saving the pup.... I think German Shepards are some of the smartest dogs. Story was that we girls would sit on the porch and lick an ice cream cone.. then Patsy would take a lick... back & forth. You know the dog could have grabbed the whole thing LOL....
Hugs all, Back to work tomorrow...
Mary
This is what I sent Dianne, a pretty Thomas Kinkade cup with goodies, a pretty candle with shade, pretty red Christmas towels, I made the angel. Plus some goodies for Quill and Diesel. I got them at Wal Mart. The small mat is a mug rug Dianne, it is a big coaster, for your cup and snack. I also included some black velvet coloring pages for Dianne. And of course some chocolates!
I obviously didn't proof read and had candy on the brain. I meant candle and boy does it look beautiful lit up at night. Smells wonderful too!
Nice pics of your family Betty.
We had a small gathering on the lane tonight to remember John, our neighbour that passes. I wouldn't let them do the same for Warren but they included stories of him too.My guy was a dude! Lots of funny stories about the both oh them. I
am glad I went.
LK your pup is adorable. My Stormy boy was a GS too
You will love her every second she is with you.
Morning all,
Sitting here thinking I should be doing something but I'm finished so sit I can!
Mary what a fright, with all that can happen these days no wonder Lance was fretting. Inlaws must have been disappointed not to be able to visit and give her gifts.
Dianne, what lovely gifts in your Santa warren Christmas box..LindaKay included a bit of everything, something to eat, something to entertain yourself. Love the candle and did you make the art piece LindaKay? No wonder Quill and Diesel were anxious for you to open the box, treats for them as well.
Know it was. More than difficult for you to attend the celebration of life yesterday for your neighbor, brave of you to go..when I would and still attend such gatherings ,people have stories of Roger, warms the heart to know what an impact he had on his stay here on earth..am sure you felt the same when they spoke of Warren.
Al this talk of new furries in the household temps me
Morning everyone! Yes I made the angel with a styrofoam cone.
Great job Linda. I know Dianne is thrilled with all her presents....
Betty, it sure looks like a great day was had by all. And I STILL can't get over how Noah looks just like you!!!! Amazing resemblance. So tell us about this massager please.
Sounds like she may be in her chair enjoying that massager!
No, at work..almost afraid to try to chair unit massager just incase it creates more problems..Suzanne brought me in a wedge this morning so I can get comfy..drats I'm in pain..didn't take pain meds this a.m. because of driving but took them when I got to work.
Paul is here this morning..I asked about office closing and he said for sure Friday and not sure about early afternoon Thursday.
Feeling lost, nothing to do, nowhere to go..lol
So this morning I had 8 large and 8 small twister templates to mark with 'x's, put on a list of to do-shipping envelopes so I can mail from USA..then found a pattern for a christmas piece, would mean sitting and doing cut out for the tree, easy enough..
Then I looked for those kits I had to do the christmas cards we did, Thunder hasn't done them so I will play at putting a few different ones together to also post..
Nothing that takes a lot of energy or strength, just something to keep me occupied until I leave..I can do what Greg was doing last night..counting how many sleeps there were till they fly out on Thursday.
Love that Christmas tree, if you have no one to give it too, you have my address... ;)
Betty, do you have the directions for the twister pattern? How big are your squares to begin with?
good morning and hello..Oh my goodness, Im so backed up with things it's driving me bonkers!!
Been playing taxi several times a day, it's hard to stay focused on any given project, so making very slow process.
DH, has been pretty busy again, so add that into, the mix with his computer work on the one we have is just so aggravating.
Sigh, and now Breenies laptop is acting up!! THIS thing just keeps bouncing the cursor back to middle of sentence that have to keep watch grrr. ..I just eventually give up on trying to type anything. just typing this one paragraph has TAKEN almost a half hour!!!
sending big ARMWRAPS, Prayers to all in need, for the loss, and pain.
Betty, sure looks like your gathering was wonderful...beautiful gifts! So I sure hope ypou and Darlene have a great trip, safe travels.
Linda Kay, woohoo, congratulations on the Wedding!
Awe, Dylan is getting so big and he is just adorable...woohoo, on getting the new pup too!! He is a grand dog, so glad you got him.
So, because DH has been crazy busy, me too , He decided we should go to the Cottage. We had a great time, just ythe two of us...lol, we talked almost non-stop on the ride to and from. LOL, you would think we hadn't seen each other in ages!
I am so mad at myself...I took several, small projects to work on, didn't do any while there, we did alot of running around instead, then yesterday ended up cleaning and moving furniture around. got home pretty late...but, We did get a Christmas tree on the way back.
anyway, Im mad at myself because I left my REO tote with ALL my supplies and small projects in the Van!!! DH left early, before I realized they were in there...Sooo, I am now even further behind.
Oh well, I guess, i'll work on decorations and getting things back in order from the weekend.
Ok this is driving me insane trying to post...So I will bid safe travels, and a grand day, will try and post again later.
5" squares..I followed Missouri Quilts video and when she got to the part of her wreath design I put the video on hold and designed mine to match hers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-d1sqIfUctQ&list=UUWnhR7raxVFDHmDXqCIzuAw&index=6
Judy, don't fret over them, they will get done I'm sure..glad to hear Steve is busy..what you needed financially..he's not renovating again is he??? hope he's down on the Magnificent Mile making megal $$$$
Sounds as though you and Steve relaxed while getting caught up on life..
Hey Judy! You need to slow down a bit! I agree with Betty, you can get it all done!
Thanks for the link Betty, I think I will make a table topper for my new DIL's parents!
You will so have fun with it..after I cut the first two pieces and sewed it together I placed the last one I cut back into it's hole, cut the next one and lifted it to my piece so I'd not lose the proper markings..sounds complicated but it was easy easy
Love the pictures of your family Betty. Thanks for sharing all the celebrations with us!
Our family was more of a beagle brigade than anything. Later our son discovered labs and that is it now! Unfortunately having a dog where I live now would be miserable. No fence, can't put one up with out all kinds of approval from HOA and being right on the lake. Not good combinations.
Dianne, what a lovely box you received from LK. LK..wow! what nice goodies and the angel is beautiful.
Our plans are on hold for the moment as my DD got sick yesterday. I guess it is her time to have the horrible stomach virus than ran through the school last week. What a way to start her Christmas break!!
Poor Kim, working at the community center it seemed I was always coming down with something, between Bingo's, teen dances, adult dances, community events that I look after it was a certainty that if something was going round I'd get it.
Is she off now Marion? How long does Christmas Holidays last in your region??
Yes she is off work until the 7th of January I think...... need to double check the school calendar. One of the drawbacks of teaching....everything the students have, teachers eventually come down with the same. Still feeling lousy but at least she is keeping somethings down.
Mary.....Here is my tree. it is 4ft tall.
only had to wait 45 mins at PO to send out Christmas packages :) thought it would be much longer when we got in line only had 2 windows working, added another shortly after we got there.
got home to Christmas in my mail !!! packages from two of my sisters, and one from Marion, she sent charms from swap and Dresden plate from swap, and some lovely Christmas present fabric for my Christmas Star / snowflake quilt. and some snowman fabric!!! awesome!!!
one package from a sister included a card we all have to sign , and send on to another sister, she will then give it to Momma on Christmas, she will be very surprised to get a card signed by all of her children, and some of the grands, and even greats!!!
