Regarding DS.....No, DH didn't wait to tell me. It was my second day down there. I hadn't heard anything anything from DS from Nov. 28 until Dec. 7, and then he was home for 20 minutes and left. This one isn't going to learn the first time, he seems to think it is "nothing" from what I am hearing from friends.

DH is sick and has already called into work tomorrow.

Betty, get a call into that doctor for sure

Been up for 1 1/2 hrs and just now peeped outside..if we got freezing rain it was last night and this morning all looks dry. If it stays the same think I might do the burning pit before snow falls.

Thunder, the other day while out shopping I walked the toy aisles and so wished I had young ones..those dolls are all but human aren't they..Malena will so love her gift.

Mary, aren't you thrilled that you are ahead of the game..you'll not be stressed out as the days roll by, besides, look how you are enjoying being a social butterfly.

Debbie, sorry you were given such news while away..think the could have waited! Seems you have a way of keeping them in line when you are home, minute you are gone they act up..not nice after they supported you going.

As for the headaches and shoulder /back pain I'm almost convinced it the result from my fall in new Orleans..teach me to party hard with university kids. Lol

didn't realize till it was time to leave that it was freezing rain..schools/buses closed in my neck of the woods..I kept trucking..left 1/2 hr. early as I wanted to stop of Walmart and ended up when all was said and done getting here 3 minutes late..

Know Suzanne thinks she's helping me by turning off the transfer of telephones when she leaves the office on Friday's but had she not I could have stayed home.

In severe pain, waiting for 9am to come to call to see when I can get into the doctors..so much pain in right back shoulder blade that I bought a pillow to put against it so perhaps it can relieve some of it..at times I don't even feel the arm..drats I'm tired of this

Suzanne won't be in till noon hour, I've closed the blinds to the office somewhat and just might take a nap..lol too funny work like heck at home and rest in the office

Knew I'd never get in to see my Doctor..got to book at least 2 -3 weeks ahead..but my doctor and about a dozen more opened an after hours clinic..opens at 9am..you have to keep pressing re-dial, re-dial which I did 50 times and finally got through..you can't book appt.'s..each morning you keep trying and hope for the best...

must be my lucky day, got through, have a 5:15pm appt and lo and behold it's my doctor who is on duty today..

Mary, my daughter Kim, wants to read the book after having seen the movie. I really am happy we decided that was the movie for the night.

Thunder, I have the cutest doll bed pattern using a storage box. It has the pattern for mattress, sheets, pillows and quilt. When not being played with, the doll and etc. can be stored in the container. Let me see if I can find the name of the place I got it.

Betty, so glad you have a doctor's appointment. You do NOT need to start a trip south with that pain. It is hard enough driving I-75 without discomfort!!! Especially this time of year.

Debbie and Dianne, so sorry to hear of the issues you are dealing with at this time. Why does thing like this always happen during the holiday season? Is it an unwritten law I missed somewhere.

Your project Marion sounds just the thing that Thunder needs..now to find it right? Bought some totes last fall and put my patterns inside but it's such an effort to drag them out each time I'm looking for one.

Like everything else, think it's time to purge most of the patterns.

I will be gone for a few days, my youngest son Andy is getting married Wed. 12/12/12 at 12:12 pm. Just a small wedding at the court house with the JP. I will be back Thursday sometime. I will pop in when I can get to a computer. I am leaving in the morning.

They decided to get married last week. They have been talking about it for awhile, and all of a sudden they went to the court house and got the marriage license. Made the appointment with the JP, and it is all set.

Apparently there are weddings scheduled around here for that date also as it is the "last" time dates will line up with all the same number.

Back from my luncheon with friends. Stopped at Ollie's. Do you all have Ollie's? Anyway, I put the tree up before I left so will have to decorate that soon. Still have the kitchen carpet to clean and a batch of peanut brittle to make before 9:00 tomorrow morning. Sigh....now I'm tired again!

Joyce, if DH goes into Ollies...he is lost for some time. He drives me crazy, almost worse than Home Depot! lol

When I'm in Buffalo Joyce, they have an Ollie's a few blocks from the hotel..girls always want to go browsing..last time I was in I almost came home with a rug however there was no way it would fit so there it stayed..another time!

He said 'whiplash' said that the numbness in my right arm, the pressure at the back of my head, his not being able to touch the back shoulder blades, intense headaches is all he needed to know..asked if I was in an accident, nope, any falls..told him about New Orleans, he smiled and said likely the cause..not uncommon to be uncomfortable and it get worse..said its really bad, gave me pain killers, muscle relaxers, sleeping pills, the works..if Christmas, 6 trips to USA, new snow tires didn't do me in, meds sure did. Lol

Just going to email Susan and tell her to call in the a.m. Just incase the drugs make me tired enough that I don't hear the alarm..that is doubtful..

Gave me some things re excercizes to do which might help, told me not to do nothing, to try and continually work arms, neck, head, not a lot but enough so the muscles don't seize..

Said could last 6 months or longer but he would try to keep me comfortable.
No hanging out with college students either..lol

That being said, gong to make a tea, read pamphlets that came with meds and go to bed..hard day today..

Sounds pretty painfull Betty, sure hope the meds, and exercises help quickly!

Just read about the meds, drats, almost worth putting up with what I have as to what I could have..

One of them goes on and on about it's benefits for depression..got to say I'm the least depressed person I know...just do not like these drugs

Jeez o pete Betty... I am so sorry you are hurting... Lorda mighty.. maybe you and me should check into a old ladies home for pain issues.. My freaking Sciatica is miserable.. and I REALLY.. do not want to take more than 2 Lortabs a day.. I take one at 9 am. and my evening one at about 6 pm... I can get through the night okay with a .25 mg of xanax.. (that's a quarter of a mg.. not 25 mgs.. )

Deb.. I am so sorry you are having troubles this Christmas time... there is never a good time, but Christmas seems even worse...

You ladies that do all that awesome quilting... I have to hand it to you.. you all do absolutely wonderful work... I love the tree skirt.. so pretty.. and I love blue too..

I am about all in and so will be hopping into the shower and piling up with my study on Revelation.. I need to play catch up.. since I have missed a few weeks of the study...

Morning all,

Sure is cold, right now 9F, cool in the office so just put on micro furnace to warm me up. No snow call for until Sunday so that is a plus..here's hoping no great amount until after I leave for Florida!

Carolyn, think we should get ourselves a complex with apartments for all of us and a duty doctor to make sure our needs are met..and we have loads of NEEDS! lol Hope today is a better day for you.

Mary, didn't need the pain, I would remember my trip just because you took the time to drive intown so we could meet up..teach me to party it up with young men and women..should act my age right?

Sending prayers Betty that you will heal fairly fast. I say fairly because if you heal quickly, you will turn around and overdo all over again and then it will take twice as long to get better.
So please heed the doctor this time and let your poor body heal!!! I'm positive you have all the gifts you need for giving so please, please rest - okay? And stay AWAY from all those college guys!!! I feel like a mother hen talking to her chicks!!!

Betty, there are many medications originally prescribed for depression, that work well to ease pain. I have been taking one for quite some time. don't want to even think about what the pain would be without it...

Had drs appt. good news she wants to lower my doses on asthma meds and see how I do, bad news, cholesterol numbers, good one went up, but so did the bad one :( so have to up my dose on meds for that :( and be more careful of what I am eating !! way too many goodies for thanksgiving !! bad bad me

Betty, I think we have arrived at the time in our lives where our minds so "yes, go for it" and our bodies say "no way". Please do as the doctor advised and slow up (well I can dream, can't I?) a little now and then.

Thunder, that isn't good especially this time of year. I think that maybe why I try never to schedule any appointment that will require blood work this time of year. Can get things back under control before being hit with bad news. ;-)

Barb, you know me too well, actually I AM all finished so nothing to do here except twiddling my thumbs..however, I do have Suzanne's leftover rag quilt blocks that I wanted to do and put in the donation sot downstairs, but it can be done over next 2 weeks..no hurry!

Meds did help a bit, only ended up with a bit of a head throb late afternoon, pain in shoulder blade still there, maybe a few days more of meds and I will be up to dancing a jig for NewYears. Lol

What did you all get up to today?

I wonder if you damaged your rotator cuff when you fell also. That sure sounds like how mine felt in the shoulder before my surgery.

Thought of you lots today, hoped you had a few rays of sunshine enter your life, you sure need it!

It is pretty cold, some slight snow storms.

The rotator cuff injury and dealing with it was more painful than childbirth to me Betty. When I hurt it a piece of bone aka bone spur was in there and
it was just so painful until that was removed and repaired. I lived with it for too many years....do not be so stubborn as I was! lol I had the initial neck
injury also, put me in a collar to rest neck....but never followed up on the shoulder until playing with the dog and aggravated it.

Not a very good day, today is Carries birthday. DH still sick but went to work. Tomorrow is court date.

Poor Ann, her nephew who she helped raise has cancer..last month he had testicle removed..now the found his stomach is full of it..he is 22

Starts chemo Monday..yesterday I think it was he was sent to give sperm so that if he survives Rachael, fiancé may be able to have his child..his mother just passed away from cancer..their lives are filled with turmoil..

Debbie, will you go to court with him? Were you able to meet up with Carrie?

Think my cough might be acid reflux so went to gastroenterology today... Dr. wants to put a tube down my throat but I'm too scared so we're gonna try a couple months with Nexium first.

Nothing compared with what my DG friends are going through... you are all so strong and I really am thankful for such strong women I can call my friends and to look up to.

Betty - a bone spur is terribly painful I've heard...... did your Dr do x-rays?

That is heartbreaking about Ann's nephew. That is just so so sad for all.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Carrie. However Carrie was too busy, her house was a mess....so I couldn't go over. She said she might stop over later in the week.

I plan on going to court with him, it is at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow night. Not so sure what he wants...but I will attempt to go.

Thank you LK and Susan for the ((HUGS)).... Yes they would put me out but I am too scared even then. 1 in 3,000 have bowel perforations or something like that.... don't like hearing that. I just don't trust Dr.s anymore.

So we'll hope the Nexium works...

Debbie My experience is that the court experience is a maturing one. I went with DS once, Hubby went once and he went alone once.... I don't know which is best... wanted him to know that while We are in his corner (and Hubby too) that ultimately he is alone when he makes these decisions.

But wow 7pm is so late... all of DS's were 8am, 9am.
