Haha, I am back! Fasted shopping spree ever!! lol not really, went to the bank first but Julia's checks have to clear first, so maybe tomorrow...Well then we got home and Breenie dragged Julia off shopping, said I couldnt go cause they are shopping for me! Asked me what i wanted, lolol I am real easy, go to JoAnns and get that cool Standing light with magnifier, heavy sigh, she said she wasn't getting me a light, well hands flying to the hips here, why ask what i want? lol, asked for my own set of tools too. Well of course there is always the Photo of the three of them, Ive been asking for for the last 5 years now...

Wow, Carolyn..your stained glass piece is gorgeous!

Dianne, sure hope you and Deisel enjoy the walk.

Oh yeah, sure would be nice to see Bev and Shirley pop in too.

My break is over, trying something a bit different...Betty or anyone really who can give me a hint, how long does one bake polymar clay?? I decided to make my own Dove for Julia's Peace. Took all morning to figure out how to go about it, lol..finish one wing and oh i am so glad its turning out pretty nice if i do say so myself. got to get back to it....meantime other projects are in finishing stages, drying right now....Oh and then, I decided to give one those dresden plates a whirl!!OMG, why didn't you tell me how incredibly easy they are to make...now that the size is considered, well, stop that one and search matching materials...Want to do one, maybe for MIL, think she will like it.

Well, Joyce got the back brace off, needs the neck brace for another 3 weeks, and has stay in rehab for another week. Yaya, she'll be out in time for Christmas, Chuck, her ex boyfriend, still friends passed away in his home the other day. A neighbor called the police because he hadn't seen him, and Chuck was always in and out doing stuff.
He was a pretty cool guy, we had a lot of fun "camping" time with he and Joyce.

Oh lets see, Jake is now 4th in State! He was so excited sent me a picture of the roster.

I better get rolling, got to get the other wing done...body part will be pretty quick & easy.

Waiving to everyone, hope your enjoying the day.

mulege, Mexico

Big hugs to everyone. Glad to see crissy posting.

I have to go to the post office to renew my passport, do whatever shopping is left and then head for home. I slept 14 hours (!!!) last night so I will take my time going home.

My van is quite full. Not much new stuff so I'm hoping I won't get hassled at the border.

Be back soon.

hugs, katie

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Judy LOL Gotta love it! They ask you what you want then tell you no! They should just go get a pic together and give one to you, that wouldn't take long at all, probably less time and money than looking for something for you. Hope Joyce gets better fast! Oh I'm so sorry to hear of her loss. WooHoo Yay for Jake! Go Jake Go!

mulege, Mexico

Almost forgot my big movie recommendation. Go see "Flight" denzel washington's new movie. It is really good. kb.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh Katie I hope they don't make you empty it and go through everything! Back in 2001 when I went with a family down to Mulege, there were four adults and 6 teenagers, both girls and boys, they rented a 44ft motor home. Coming back we were crossing the border at midnight, everyone was asleep, they made us stop and we had the motor home so full of luggage and vacation do dads it wouldn't take anymore so we were hauling a HUGE amount of luggage on the luggage rack on the roof of the thing. Border patrol said that they were going to make us take it all down and they were going to go through everything, they also wanted us to take ALL of our belongings out of the motor home so they could go through that too. The mom said that all of that would probably take 12 hours for them to go through it all. The dad of the family disappeared for about 30 minutes, then showed back up and they said we were clear to go, so we left!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Border crossings can be such a pain! hope you can just slide through with no problems Katie!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, think if you put the piece on cookie sheet, in oven at 250 for 20 minutes it should be ok..guess it depends on size/thickness. Drats, why can't they see that would be a perfect gift? Somewhat good news for Joyce, the being home for Christmas..sorry to hear about her ex. Judy, glad you tried to Dresden..look forward to seeing a project.

Katie, marking down the flight..who knows, with a clear weekend in front of me (so I think) I just might go see the movie. Here's praying they let you through without a major emptying of your vehicle. Are you satisfied with what you are taking back??

Here I is, 6pm, bathed, filled with drugs and in bed..maybe a few hours of sleep might help. Don't I sound like a broken record..

Verona, ON

No you don't Betty. You sound like someone who is in pain and is tired. Tired out and tired of the pain too.

Judy how proud you must be of Jake.Do you miss his weekend breakfasts?

Looked into taking a quilting class but then I would have to buy a sewing machine. Right now I couldn't take it because I don't have a machine but also wouldn't trust myself to driive there and back. Looks like she is starting a Beginner's course in Feb so I might sign up for that one.

Mary you have to promise when you come tomorrow on our walk not to bring things to feed the wild turkeys. Boy oh boy are they nosey and bold too!

Quill has spent quite a bit of time outside today with Diesel and I. She just amazes me at how resilient she is!!

BBL, need to get barky dogs in. I hate barky dogs!!
Dianne

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Your going to enjoy that quilting class Dianne! You will be hooked for sure! Sure hope your feeling better soon!

Morning, here I is, busy as can be!! Not really, busy but in a relaxing kind of way...

Went to bed 10 minutes after I got home last night and never got up until 5am..headache not s bad but still there..called to find out when Walmart was open, actually wanted to check blood pressure before day started..said open 24 hrs..got there, doors locked..attendant cleaning parking lot says 24 hours starts today..ok today started at midnight right?? Drats they should have amended their recording, came home empty handed..wanted some groceries and batting..

Seeing I'm working from home, no cooking to be done today nor house cleaning I have plenty of time to finish a christmas throw for Paul's wife..so want to visit in the mornimg with all my reltives and I would drop it off as well sooo did find two large pieces of batting and between them I'm in business. Lol

Thunder, can't wait to see what is in Christmas box Thea sent you, think we all get excited as can be as to who got who and what..

Crissy, had I thought of it earlier I could have taken a photo and had it put on Christmas cards, would really have freaked the boys....Melanie just called, taking Kyle to Barrie college for orientation today..dropping off the last 6 placematts that need binding. My last to do I've promised myself to for others..will be glad to see that behind me.

Dianne, that will be a fun experience for you..with the accuracy you cut glass, color combination etc you will be a pro in no time..something to look forward to in the spring.

Omg bet Diesel and Quill will enjoy their walk this morning..beautiful out there and that was at 5:30am

Promised myself that although I have projects to do (only if I want to) I'll sew/sit and rest and just enjoy the day,

Will have to take photo of my tree and pressies before I start my delivering of what is under it!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Good morning. Not moving very fast today....body rebelling from working in the yard all day yesterday. Does look so much better but still a long ways to go before I will be satisfied. If I am ever satisfied with my yard. :-)

Went to see the granddaughters in their Christmas pageant last night..same every but still brings goose bumps. Being the grandmother that I am, I thought my youngest was the cutest donkey and the older girl had the sweetest voice. No, I am not the least bit prejudiced!!

I'm sure she was Marion..lol

Why oh why are we so hard on our bodies?? know you had a helper yesterday but still..you are still healing, giving 'to do's' might have been better for you..how is Kim's cold, all but gone?

Started the instructions on the snowman gals..

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Yes, I did have help but I can't stand it not to be outside..especially is there is some one else out working. I am so thankful I have found such a great yardman. He really loves what he does and so very easy to work with. He was cleaning along my fence row and discovered under a build up of dirt and leaves that an old wooden edging was in place. Cleaned it off and started putting a row of bricks in front to make it more decorative. Of course, I couldn't resist bending and helping put the bricks in place. Pulled some huge azalea limbs down and put blocks on them so they can root. Will give a really nice thick screen in front of the fence.

He is bring me some fresh turnips this morning and I can hardly wait. He grows some with solid white roots that are are so good. Actually he said the new is "So Good". Since he has found out we like greens, he keeps me and Kim stocked!!! Thank goodness my DIL likes them too.....way to many for just the 2 of us.

Kim's cold is much better but she is having some trouble winding down from the past 2 years working on her degree. Graduation is tonight but she isn't going to walk....campus is 80 miles and can't be there in time. She doesn't really want to any way. Said she is waiting until she gets her EdD.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Maybe not going is because she is still not 100% Marion..

Wonderful that you found a yardman..I'd hate to think what they charge here, just know it's mega $$$

Greg said he was going to contact the firm who does his office and see what they would charge..might be worth getting them in come early spring seeing as I didn't get the raking done this fall..first time, I must be losing it!!

Turnip, yummy, my favorite..I add carrots and brown sugar to the mix..now you have me hungry for turkey/dressing/mashed potatoes and turnip...

could always run to Walmart after work and pick up one of the turkey rolls, not sure, might have turnip cooked in the freezer just waiting to be eaten..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh, I love turnips too! Have not had them in a long time!

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

I have spent the past week here in Lansing visiting friends. Came in for a special birthday party last Saturday, been to lots of movies with my "movie buddy" and finished my Christmas shopping. i wrapped the presents I brought with me for the friends here and we have already had an early exchange. This Saturday we go to "War Horse" the play at MSU Wharton Center and then Sunday a day with my craft group her in Lansing. Going home on Monday and they are saying rain and snow. Hope I don't have problems as my Quilt Guild has there Christmas party Monday night and I am going to try and make it there.
Stacey, my DIL that some of you know as Fairy104, had a scare this past weekend. She is 7 months pregnant with a very high risk pregnancy. She went to the doctor and all is well but we are still looking at possible bed rest between now and the Feb. 20 delivery date. All doctors have said they don't think she will go full term. She is miserable with shots to the belly twice a day and hands that go to sleep constantly but she does very well taking care of 2 yr old Jonathan. I am thinking of having a long distance shower for her. I would ask that all of you that know her send a card to arrive on January 20 (or close). This baby will be a girl; Alexandra Evelyn, so while she has all the major things from Jonathan she is looking for bibs, etc that are more girly. Not asking for presents, just want her to know that there are those thinking about her and wishing her and the new baby well. What do you all think? This will be the first girl grandchild in 28 yrs. and that will make only two; the others are boys...so we are all over the moon. I'll write more when I get home next week. Pics of my buddie Jonathan below

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg yes Janice, most of us know her, will mark that on the calendar but with all going on can you come back early January and remind us?? Would they be sent to you?

truly difficult time for her and for you..

was watching a tv show the other day, to do with new Royal baby and they went on to say how difficult for some to have girls..shook my head, yes know that from experience..loss 2 girls..Lordy they would be 45 and 42 ... One before my Greg and the other after my Jeff.. Sooo that being said, know how very worried you must be!!

Are you missing Lansing Janice?? Know your roots and friends are there

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Fantastic idea Janice......but please remind us again. I have written this on my calendar but sometimes I need more. It's that age thing you know. Do tell Tink I am thinking of her and please take good care of herself. Sounds like you had an enjoyable trip.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Add my name to that group Janice! Would love to send her something! So sorry to hear she is having a bad time! Sending prayers her way!

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

OK. where to begin.... feel like Thea has known me for ever with the goodies she sent. touched my heart...OH MY ^_^

Thunder, you indeed hit the jackpot. Beautiful things Thea!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Thunder those are beautiful! Nice job Thea!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Marion so glad you got out in the yard!

Janice sounds like Stacey is having the same problems she had with Jonathan. My grandmother couldn't carry to term due to a thin uterus. She miscarried a boy, had my half aunt at 8 months along, then she got pregnant with my mom and her twin brother, because there was more than one baby she had them at 6 months, my mom's brother passed away 9 hours after birth, he weighed a half a pound and my mom weighed a little over one pound, and they gave my grandmother an emergency hysterectomy.

OOOHHHH Thunder!! You did hit the jackpot!!! How cool!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG I can see you bouncing off the walls Thunder..you who loves snowpeople..I'll say lovely work our Thea does..gorgeous to say the least..ohhhh look at the maple leaf, did Bernie cut it Thea..you just gave me an idea..drats, used up all the wood on your snowmen..see that, I could have kept the scraps and made Maple Leafs....nahh

my heart is just a racing from the friendships we've developed..gee whiz we sure know what each other likes don't we..

Am sure Santa Warren is chuckling up there, knowing what pleasures he's left us doing this swap..shhh just blew him a kiss and a prayer..don't tell Dianne!!!!!

got to get dressed and go to Walmart..drats..ran out of red thread to finish a quilt that I will deliver tomorrow morning at 9am and wouldn't you know..going to tell them about the open 24 hr. deal..

off and running, back in a bit..

is the snowman piece a wall hanging Thunder??

Linden, TN(Zone 7a)

Those are so beautiful.. I love snowmen.. but then I love everything.. LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Knock came to the door, ooops must have locked in without thinking..was Greg, he was playing beat the clock, going to a Christmas party for building association and just getting home from work..said he couldn't stay but dropped of small and larg 'twist' templates..only thing I have to do is remove the plastic covering and mark them..gee he's a good boy!!!

He is not sure what the purpose of these templates are so I take out the inner piece I just did and explain how it's done, just what he wants to hear when he's in a mega hurry..then I see him moving his arms..he's 6'3"..I ask him what he's doing, brushing away the cobwebs he says...I'm so laughing..I'm not 5' who to heck look up for cobwebs..he says I do when I walk in and they hit me in the face...chuckle/chuckle..told him to come over one night and walk around the rooms and wipe them, either that or I'll bring my wood equipment upstairs so the sawdust grabs into the spiderweb and they will look pretty, just have to add sparkles and I'll be decorated like no other house...

While we are talking
