Good Morning Ladies,
Going to be busy today, shopping then baking a pumpkin pie (will be my first), making fresh cranberry sauce (again a 1st). Told Doug I am cooking this dinner he is to stay OUT OF MY WAY!!!!!! LOL
A Blonde Thanksgiving..................
Last Thanksgiving, my mom decided to play a trick on my (BLONDE) sister, so to get her out of the house, she sent her to the store....
While my sister was out, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen, then put it inside the turkey, packed all the stuffing all around it. She then put the turkey back in the oven.......
When the turkey was done, my sister took it out of the oven and began removing the stuffing.....
When she felt something she reached in and pulled out the Cornish hen........
Pretending to be shocked, my mother shouted "OMG!!! You've cooked a pregnant turkey!!!!!
My sister began to cry and was inconsoleble.......
It took us half an hour to convince her that turkey's lay eggs......
^_^
SWEET INTERRUPTIONS # 250
Morning everyone!
Jaye, so sorry to hear your going through so much grief, but please know you need to come and vent when you need too! No need for extra Xanax!
Faye, so glad your popping in when you can.
Sue, also sending prayers for your MIL surgery today!
Susan, I too have had a hysterectomy, and I always go in for a yearly exam, there are so many things they test for with those swabs!
This is my new hummer tattoo, not finished yet, hopefully by the end of the year.
hugs to Y'all got to run out to store...yuck :( then it will be a sewing day for me :)
LK, that's an unfinished BIG beauty! Next trip will be filling in the leaves, more coloration then outline? That will take you more painfuly hours!!! You're brave sistah! Did your son do that?
I've always love tattoo art, but can't bear the pain. Tattoos are just permanent accessories on one's body.
Faye, Ray could have one tattoo on his back that reads, "Jesus got my back".
Now don't take that seriously. No need for Ray to go through additional pain. (((((((((((((((((RAY)))))))))))))))))
Don't run Thunder!! Be safe! I'm sewing too :D
well, my pies are baked, the ribs and boston butt are marinated and the turkey is shot up. the bread for the stuffing is set out to stale, and i'm exhausted. o yeah, the cranberry relish is made. got the prime rib for christmas bought and in the freezer, so thats one worry off my mind next month. put 6 guinnea in the freezer yesterday, moved jack by himself, as soon as it gets cold enough, he is going in the freezer.
Thanks Jaye, yes Andy did it, there is about an hour of work left to do, to fill in the leaves, and finish the flower petals.
Kathy, sounds like you have been busy, and that food sounds yummy!
Hmmm guess ya didn't think the turkey joke was funny, oh well
LOL i laughed Cindy LOL that is a good one.
jordonkittyjo wow t hat is a kitchen full . don't forget to rest.
LK that tat is soooo pretty . i love it.
Jaye how you feeling today
FIL made it through surgery today and is doing fine.
thunder have a good sewing day .
i m tired and have no wine. but i m trying to cut down and not depend on it so much.
good night sleep well friends
So sorry Cindy, I thought it was funny, just forgot to comment! I saw it on FB too!
Sleep tight Sue!
LOL Cindy - I told my DH and he grinned and grinned....... I told him I should try that on my daughter LOL He knows she's not BLONDE and wouldn't be fooled....... That was SOOOOOOOO funny!!
Good Lord, I typed more than a thousand words, when time to post, it went POOF!!
Cindy, I am so sorry, but I didn't see your post till now. That's the truth. There were times when I don't see some postings before mine here. The screen doesn't show it all!! This is another time. So sorry Cindy, it wasn't my intention to ignore you. Kill DG gremlin for me will ya?
What would that blonde think of the new thanksgiving rave-- "Turducken". She won't be thinking, she'd be fainting away after she pulled that chicken from the duck from the turkey!!
Don't do all the work, let Doug do the wishes!
LK, I've been watching Ink Master, and your son should compete!
Kathy, you've told me that Jack will be the sacrificial goat, but I thought you're 'kidding'!! Poor Jack.
Prime rib sounds good. You can send some of that guineas over.
Return to check on how your FIL's surgery went, Sue. Glad it went well.
This afternoon, Kel had to accompany his dad to the oncologist for his test results, and nothing good to report. FIL's cancer has returned.
He's scheduled for another round of chemos... radiations.. whatever's needed to eradicate this one.
I'll talk more tomorrow.. as I'm brain tired and I bid you all a good night.
Yes Susan.. so much to be thankful for.. and our misery is nothing compared to the ones that have not and the ills, of course.
Jaye - maybe my posting of that "oldie but goodie" was inappropriately timed. I wasn't pointing out anything to anyone in particular. It just came to me in email and without thinking I posted it.... Hey, isn't that the way I do most things....... without thinking? LOL
Love you bunches....... :-)
Didn't take it in a bad way, Susan. You need to remind us to be thankful for what we got, just like I have a bad habit of doing the same to you!!
There!! Love you bunches too Susan!!
My prayers are with all of you. When I see others are having a rough time too I don't feel so bad. We had plans on going to friend's for Thanksgiving, but truck still isn't running and DH says he doesn't trust the van going that far. His wrists hurt him with any kind of pressure put on them and I told him to get his son to help, but both of them are so darn stubborn they won't ask each other for help. Our friend said he would come and pick us up, that that is over an hour's drive one way and DH wouldn't hear of it. So, no turkey this year. Then on the 24th we were suppose to go to great-granddaughter's 3rd birthday party and since that is so far away too we won't be able to make it. I'm very disappointed, but I know DH isn't feeling very good either. He is in a "very poor me" mode and wants to cancel Dish and hire a lawn man instead. Small lawn, but is so disgusted because he can't even start up his lawn edger. Have to give up one to afford another. Now that I have vented too I do feel a little better.
Did get my hair cut short and a curly perm so that makes me feel a lot better. So nice to have a wash and wear perm again. How I envy those with naturally curly hair!!
((((((((((Pegi))))))))))) I hear ya, hon.......... sometimes we know our partner is hurting, but WE are hurting, so - who nurtures who?!?! It's a "spouse eat spouse" world (take off on, "dog eat dog" world" LOL)
I don't, Jaye, but sometimes I think I "stick my foot in it" in a HUGE way LOL
Well, it's after 11, and I have another workshop tomorrow, so need to head to sleep!!
See you in the afternoon!!
Y'all have a good day, I am off to work...
Good Morning Ladies,
Dark rainy morning here so it's a good day for baking
That is weird Jaye, is that because you are on dial-up? You're right LK, that was on FB, I didn't like the poster thing so I typed it up making it easier to read.
Thanks for the "spouse eats spouse" talk Susan. Yep, who said everything in life was going to go OK! Going to be another cool day and I'm hoping I get a few things done. My Mandy goes in for a rabies shot then I can find about about the hernia she has and when I can get her spayed. She is sure fighting me on the house breaking thing. You would think she would catch on pretty soon, but maybe she is stubborn like the men in my family. LOL
Good afternoon sistahs.
Marriage doesn't come with a perfect instruction book. Especially with two opposing personalities.
Is there a cheaper satellite service in your area, Pegi? Poor Darwin, feeling helpless must play a lot on his mind. Hope he will use some common sense and ask his son for help. Sure don't want you to miss your great grandaughter's b'day.
You might have to remove Mandy from Darwin!! Talking about spaying, I need to catch another stray that just gave birth and have it spayed.
Cindy, I've been having connection issues lately. We're at the mercy of the only internet company around this area. Sometimes the speed will be 4kbps and normal will be at 44kbps!!!
Yep, that's why I can't open another window when one program is running. Can't afford the service of high speed internet. Read the fine prints of one, and it's scary when prices are subject to change!! Hard when there's no extra money to throw away.
I'm feeling very guilty. I have forgiven Kel and decide to cook tomorrow. Since he's down due to his dad's news, I don't think I should ignore his wishes. Yep, let that boy have a proper Thanksgiving this year. Proper doesn't mean traditional though. It's still going to be pork ribs, collard greens, maybe some black eyed peas, Cajun rice dressing and I'll get some store bought dessert.
Unless I charge a dinner at Cracker Barrell or Ryan's!! Hmm.. following Marion's idea there.
Speaking of Marion.. hope Kim has got rid of her cold. Yep, I can get distracted too!
I know for a fact that Kel would be spending Thanksgiving afternoon with his parents. Again, I'm not going where I'm not needed.
I've been trying for precisely 4 hours to get on here. Current speed is 22 and it keeps kicking me off!! So, I have to use a notepad, do a copy and paste to DG, then post!! ARrrrrgh.
Power prayer tonight. Got my list down, and I'm including request for a calm winter for us all. Cheaper on the heating costs!!
If I don't show up, here or there (LK, pass the word please).. I've been held hostage by my 'net.
Yes, marriage would be so easy if it came with an instruction book rather than on the job training.
Sorry to hear about Murdock's cancer returning....nasty stuff.
I wouldn't have had any problem with Cracker Barrel for tomorrow but since we are staying home, I have been busy preparing the usual foods. Added fresh beets this year....fixed some for mom last trip down. Brought some home to Kim so she requested I do some for tomorrow. Biscuits and cornbread ready for the dressing, green beans cooking and squash cleaned, sliced and ready for the pot in the morning. Shouldn't be so rushed this way.
Kim is doing better, still has a horrible cough and tires easily but moving around more now. Abbi is sick now but no longer running a fever.
Have a wonderful day tomorrow to all.
Sorry to hear about the slow connection JYe, we suffers with slow connection till about 2 years ago, I was so glad to have high speed innthe area. It cost me $60.00 through the cable company, but well worth it.
Marion, glad to hear Kim is a bit better, sounds like it is running it's course through the family. Hope they get better soon.
Glad to hear that Kim's feeling somewhat better
Also glad to hear that Abbi is past her fever........ but so sick. Poor kids........
^_^ LOL
Rofl!!!
Good one Sue!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
Happy Thanksgiving to every one. Hope it is a wonderful day for you all.....
Jaye Tim wants me to tell you " Urban Myer, ! Urban Myer,! Urban Myer,! Go Bucks ! " . He also says you will give him a good razzing about the Buckeyes not being able to go to a bowl game. Those stupid players !! what were they thinking ! ? LOL
happy turkey day everyone.
i feel fatter already !
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am so Thankful that I have all my Sisters here!
Happy Birthday, BJ!!!
And a Happy Thanksgiving to all my 'Merican friends!!!
Sue, that is saying much when you say "Urban Myers".....:-); To sick to coach anymore at Florida but could go to Ohio......go figure. LOL
Hoping everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving!!!!! Off to eat my pecan pie that I was to full to eat at dinner.
Stuffed! So much food left, looks like it will be turkey sandwhiches for a day or two!
I guess he just needed to get back to his roots LOL .
my pie sucked big time. It was burnt ! i can't believe they would even sell it ? I would take it back but its the only bakery that has decent stuff. I just won't get pies from them anymore. I also won't be as friendly to them as i use too.
ran out of wine :(
Jaye i hope Kel is behaving tonight ?
Good Morning Ladies,
Yay TURKEY day is over, had 6 of us squeezed into this little house. I had all the doors open I was burning up and everybody elese was cold. Well too bad for them they weren't the ones cooking. It was a nice day outside bright sunshine, so it wasn't that cold out. Sometimes I just don't understand Doug's mom. He told her all that I was cooking and she shows up with two store bought pumpkin pies and a cassrole of dressing.
Taught them how to play Polish Poker, they really enjoyed it. We play it every time we visit with my brother he loves the game.
ok - somewhat excited, but reining it in.......
Both Bob & I are starting Temporary jobs on Monday. We found out yesterday when he went to an interview with a gov't office who place people in "training" programs doing painting & construction.
They were going to involve ME in this, until they realized I was registered with their Champions program for disabled peoples........ Anyway, he'll make minimum wage until he can find a perm position.
I got a call from an Employment Agency and the company wants someone from Monday until Dec 28th. It MAY Potentially become perm, but I'm not getting all excited about that possibility.
It IS employment for both of us, and $$ coming in for now, and I'm very happy about that.
S'funny that we both get jobs that start on Monday, eh? LOL
Congrats Susan! That is great news!
Cindy, my ex MIL did the same thing, told them not to bother bringing anything, as I had it all cooked, and they come over with veggies, and pies...
