Hi Debbie.. sorry about being so graphic.. sometimes I forget myself.. and get all enthused.. I will try not to do that any more.. I love critters too, and not just to eat. LOL I have rescued so many kittehs and puppers in my 69 years on God's green earth, that I long ago lost count..
Love the picture too.. you are beautiful.. and so is your mom and Carrie Lynn...
Joyce.. please be careful.... back injuries are the worst.. I am still trying to recover from back surgery, and it did not go well as far as I am concerned.. I hurt more now than before the surgery.. but maybe it is too soon and it will wean itself away..

That picture is...um.....OLD! LOL Carrie is going to be 27 in December! Egads!!! Funny how she is in the "middle" of the girls, but she is...my baby.
Two younger than her...but I guess because she was the baby by herself the longest and I was single mom then dealing with it all. Half the time had to save her from her big sister who was brutal.
This is what I "shot" on Friday going to Rochester! Watched him catch a mouse and eat it too! I hunt with the camera! lol
That;'s a pretty fox.. we have them here too.. but don't get to see too many.. Mostly coyotes.. and those I don't like cuz they will come right up on our deck and try to get our kittehs.. We have Bobcats too.. and they are soooo pretty.. but dangerous especially when they have babies..
Wish our lazy old cats would catch the mice.. but reckon they are too well cared for and lazy. .
You probably look like your mom then.... you look a lot like her in the photo... very lovely..
I just noticed on my photo.. it says 2011, but it was really 2012... I am challenged when it comes time to change years.. LOL.. Old age will do that to ya..
My sister was successful in getting everything in place to take Mom home for a few hours. The nurse that accompanied them push Mom so she could check out all her fruit trees, etc. Loved on her cats which did remember her after the 2 1/2 years but was very unhappy no one would put her shoes on so she could walk. NOT! Her feet are so curled under from being bedridden that there would be no way to put shoes on....besides inspite of the fact she thinks she could walk...she couldn't.
Our concerns about her not wanting to go back to the nursing home was all for nothing. After 3 hours she said she was really tired so it was time to go. Now we see how things go from here.
Carolyn, welcome. I have added your name to thelist. You have Dmail.
Dianne
Welcome Carolyn. I'm Barb from up here in New Hampshire. It is great to "see" a new face here and you and hubby are most welcome. I'm afraid my gardening years are over and I'm a homebody now. I'm a quilter and love to sew. We are a fun bunch here and I hope you will enjoy us...
Hello To All !
Welcome once again Carolyn !
LK you'll have to send us some yummy Tex Mex Recipes ! And don't suppose you are close or a fan but GEAUX AGGIES !
Oh Judy - yes clean up takes a long time and I'm like Debbie... one minute I'm cleaning 2 hours later I'm looking at pics and reading all old letters and cards.... I still have 3 "Quadrants" to go to finish the bedroom. Will work on this tomorrow.
Jake + Senior year + Wrestling = SUPER for Jake I'm sure ! OH POOR JOYCE! So glad you can take care of her... ROFLOL RE: Spaceship ! YAY Judy got a Spaceship !
Susan too funny at BIL's tailgate he was talking about all the "Tourists" that come to LSU Games and have so much fun "At last week LSU/BAMA we had 3 guys from Nova Scotia ! That's way up there in Canada!". I find I learn better on computer when by myself...
LOL Debbie "Run Bambi Run".... no worries Carolyn.... Debbie fussing at me for eating Sushi and Watching "Finding Nemo"....it's any living thing for Deb and Love her for that... she is my mom all over again.... Debbie LOVE THE PICTURE... I had that (your) hair.... same exact doo.... LOL.....
Oh Marion... wonderful your mom had a good visit and knew when she had had enough...
I'll pop back on in a bit.
We went to 3 tailgates. Walked over LSU till I have blisters (I never get blisters!). Amazing all the Big Screen TV's hooked up to generators.... The Bank tailgate we were invited to was ritzy. I was joking at how they got to "Rub shoulders with us" LOL...
Also thinking if I were a homeless person I'd never miss an LSU Tailgate party...strangers trying to feed you at every turn... I had boudin eggrolls for the first time. Lump crabmeat dip. meat pies.... pulled pork...people walking around with trays giving away food....Geaux Tigers !
Hugs
Mary
Love the fox pic's Debbie!
Hey Dianne, how are you doing?
Marion, glad to hear your Mom had a good visit.
Mary, sounds like you had a good time?
Here in Texas, we eat a lot of BBQ, briskets, and taco's.
Mary, you had the Farrah doo too? LOL Sad part is every time I dress up to go anywhere and do my hair....it still always looks like that! LOL And I still think eating Sushi while watching Nemo....is just not right!!! ROFL
Glad to hear the tailgate was fun! DH is all excited about ours on THursday! I was until I saw the temps for that night....Brrrrrr!! Will be taking a blanket with
me for sure. BIL is trying to get us the box seats because of my walking issues....I know I can go DOWN the steps but going back up (more than 40) is an issue especially in a crowd like that. Never mind if i have to go to the bathroom and do it more than once!
Wondering how our shoppers are doing???
Debbie
YES DEBBIE ! The Farrah do ! took quite a while to adopt the "Straight" look. Now they have the "Bump" look... looks like when Mom had something called a "Fall" LOL...
They just keep reinventing the old stuff renaming it and thinking it is "new".....
I NEVER get blisters and got them today.... wear comfortable shoes Deb !
LOVE Brisket LK !
Yes - So glad to see Dianne pop on ! Hope she will post soon... need a LONG Breakfast walk... miss those !
Hugs
Mary
Morning all,
Remembrance Day..time to reflect and time to thank the Lord for those who are and have fought for our freedom!
Thought I'd visit for awhile while I listen to to the snoring in unison..would get up but might wake them, Lord forbid as it would mean another full day of shoo till ou drop so I would much rather let them sleep..
Drats and more drats, did type a large post last night but it's gone..
Welcomed Carolyn, our on-line DG home doors is open, so glad you decided to visit with us..
Oops back in a bit
Shaking my head, another long post, press send, motel 6 logo came on and I lost my post
Well, all are dressed, need to pack the vehicle, now that will be a miracle if all fits in..just packing up..almost forgot to take my memory foam off the bed..yikes, would that be something..should be on the road by 9:30-9:45. To head to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, we all know it's my favorite haunt..
Everyone is doing 'my thing' as I can barely lift my head..
Good Morning Ladies
Hi Carolyn. I'm Jean, (Moon/Moonie) from Prairieville, Louisiana....way down south in Dixie...grin Welcome to Daves Garden. I am sure you will find much here to entertain and inform you, and some just flatout nice folks along the way. Best of luck to you and Larry on your truck farm venture.
Good morning everyone,
I seem to be sleeping well every other night. Hard to adjust to on the off days. Slept OK last night but am not planning any heavy work today.
tony's wife, daughter, DIL and grandson (nine months old) visited yesterday to thank Dana and me for our gifts from the States. Last trip I bought lots of baby clothes on eBay. They are especially appreciated here. The baby is adorable - smiled at me several times and petted Scout my very large and very gentle dog. The other dogs, who are more enthusiastic, were kept isolated.
I have several seedling carob trees started. They should do well here. Lots of bean, broccoli, Brussel sprouts and watermelons are growing in the new garden. Tony and I ran the shredder last week and we now have lots of palm tree/seaweed mulch. I feel rich.
With my new shelves I am gradually getting some of my seed collection planted. Giving away lots of little plants.
Not much energy today so will paroably have a lazy Sunday.
hugs, katie
Katie, you don't get cold temps down your way? That was so nice of you to buy those clothes for them!

There is a Christmas swap going on, if anyone is interested. Check it out.
Few minutes here while I sit outside of Panera Breads (appreciate the wifi) girls gone into Payless shoes and beauty store (I should have gone into that one) but opted to sit in the car, head still pounding..
What a terrible feeling, not prone to being claustrophobic but girls left, not an inch that doesn't have something, each stop we add more, I'm also to blame, could barely see out, things on my right, on my left, hot day, they left, Suzanne pressed her 'lock' there I sat no air, couldn't open the windows, door and started to panic..wow, finally pushed everything not LndaKay' seat, tried to climb over the mattress, finally was able to reach and unlock driver's door, alarm started to go off, out came Suzanne, opened windows and my door, sat with me for a bit..drats, first for me.
Got to say Cracker Barrel liked us, everyone walked out with shopping bags..lol
They have, not sure if you've seen it, a Xmas tree decorated like a snowman..head and top hat, all silver and red..my tree is usually all silver but with the snowman tree top head I'll be on lookout for red ornaments and silver ribbon for his scarf..took photo's so will post later. Excited, with lazer system, snowman tree rotating it should look nice..who knows, if I get home early enough might do outdoor lights and bring n the 2 trees..the way things are going we may try for the border by2:30pm which would get us home around 5:30 or so if o long wait at the border..
Debbie ardered perfect weather, that she did, warm breeze and just like a summer day.thanks Debbie..
Katie, glad you enjoyed the baby..what is carrobs
Girls are here, gotto run
Sorry to hear about your incident in the car Betty! Does not sound like fun at all. Maybe your headache had something to do,with it? Did you take your blood pressure pills?
Carob is often used as a chocolate substitute. It should be easier to grow here than cacao. Carob can also be used to feed animals, I've read. I've never seen one except powdered like cocoa.
Our climate is subtropical. We have winter - sort of. Chilly enough for flannel nightgowns but frost is almost unheard of. ur winters are good for things like broccoli. Beans should be OK. I'm still learning but lots of seeds can be started now.
Things like snapdragons and gourds may live for several years here. Summer heat tends to kill more plants than winter.
katie
I tried to make Pulled Pork for the first time ever, in a slow cooker. It wasn't the best - tasted good, but ended up dry, when I put it in a sandwich....... course, maybe it was because I used "dutch crunch bread" and it tends to be dry..... ?!
Susan, did you cook it in the oven or crock pot? Oven tends to dry more. I make it quite a bit.
Cook in crock pot...high to start then down to low for last couple hours. DRAIN (important) and then add BBQ to it....and another hour.
KIDNEYGUY, you have mail.. =0)
Here I is, home safe and sound..already. Bath is waiting, have the memory pad on the bed, guess who will be in bed shortly? Still mega headache, hoping a good 'quiet' night sleep will be just the thing...early I know but going to give it a try, we'll see, maybe the bath will wake me up!
Love pulled pork but never did try to make it. Suzanne buys envelops of spices, just add water, guess I could do a batch will small roast of pork..if it was good Susan then the next batch out to be even tastier.
Gourds Katie, sure wish I could grow them and dry them, love to paint them..look at all the santa's and snowmen I'd have to put out.
Drats, got rid of almost everything Dianne dropped off a few weeks ago, came home and on the back porch are boxes of unfinished pieces, lovely wooden pieces and even a half finished flower pot that takes forever to do..might be something I can bring to work and finish, but as for the rest, what to heck do I do with it??
I cooked the pork in the Slow Cooker. Started it about 3pm yesterday, and didn't complete cooking until 11pm.
Should have been perfect Susan ??? am sure if you had trouble with recipe, lordy knows how mine would have turned out..
Love the shopping pics! Looks like you all had a good time.
What are you going to do with the dresser?
See who will take and paint it..not really a dresser but would make a nice finished pieced,,I'm starting to feel like a SallyAnn's drop of box. Lol
I'm starting to feel like a SallyAnn's drop of box. Lol
LOL
Well Betty - maybe if the pork were immersed in the liquid/juices when cooking it would have been better? I did turn it over and over so it would absorb the juices....... but still... I even put it in a container in the fridge after it was finished cooking (it was cold when I did), and still it seemed dry this afternoon when I made sandwiches with it.
Betty, I see fabric or craft items storage!
Susan, did you not put water on the pork when you cooked it? It just takes a small bit, as when you have it covered in the crock pot, it creates it's own juice.
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!
Morning,
Slept well, so tired even slept in then it was a mad rush, wanted to cut the dresden plate quilt pieces so I could sew here at work so was on a mission, got it done and into work 5 minutes to spare.
LindaKay, lots it could be just won't be at my house..lol
Did drop off heavy duty turn table so will add board / matt and make a larger rotating one, one I bough, don't like..
I'll set the items / books on the craft tables tomorrow and they can help themselves..will keep the flower pot though..beautiful when finished..looks like a victorian house
Just finishing my breakfast and will take the sewing machine out
Can't wait to see the flower pot!
If you open the photo with the little cupboard LindaKay on the left side it's sitting ..likely 75% finished..as you rotate, different doors/windows to the house
Hello All;
Taking a day off today... What is everyone up to ?
Enjoying the last of the "warm" weather (it's 58) before the cold front moves in this afternoon. Oh, and cleaning!!
I moved furniture yesterday, we got an area of the carpets cleaned just as the phone rang and DH had to go into work. SO that will be the weekend before can finish the rest. I have been pulling things out of the attic, cleaning it out....and deciding keep or trash or donate. NOTHING has gone back up yet!
Have a good day
Waving Mary,
At work, working at my leisure on a quilted table cloth and watching t.v.shows I've missed..
Glad you took a day off, you've been working hard and under stress, that being said are you JUST sitting enjoying the day?
Debbie, we are having same weather, by late afternoon the temps will drop drastically and we'll know winter is on its way for both of us. Feels good purging doesn't it..don't you come across articles that you wonder just what would possess you to save it??
Just looked into lobby downstairs and see they are ready for Santa
I missed the pot before, it is beautiful!
