We are coming from here. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1283216/#top
November is here and I think this Thanksgiving after such a life changing storm... there will be lots of people giving thanks for things they never have before. I want to start by saying thank you to all of you for your compassion, understanding and support during the loss of my brother. I will never be the same person again, a piece of me died on Oct. 6th, 2012. I know that sounds mellow-dramatic but I have felt like im missing something, a hole left somewhere on my being, you can't see it, but I feel it.
I think some of you know what I mean, it's no different than watching your town struggle to rebuild, your beloved state flattened, your coastline forever changed, they ALL leaves scars in your heart and memories.
But I have much to be Thankful for....
My family, my home, health and all of you here on DG!
Grace for Thanksgiving Day
Alice Kennelly Roberts
Dear God,
Wherever we may be...On this Thanksgiving Day...
Gathered with loved ones in our homes...
Or many miles away...
We bow our heads, remembering those...
Who shared Thanksgiving past...
Those who have walked with us awhile...
Whose love will always last...
We thank Thee for the joy of friends...
The food before us set...
And for a tiny Pilgrim band...
Whose trials we can't forget...
Help us to sift the good and bad...
The hatred and the strife...
Grant us the wisdom and the strength...
To lead a useful life.
Amen
Coffee Break # 87 A Time for Thanks
Well said, dear!!! The last line hit home. May I live a useful life.
I, too, am very thankful for my DG family. very humbling
Pixie, thank you so much for posting everything.....some things do leave a hole in your heart, but life goes on, & we live, as the poem says, a useful life.....I agree, Jan.....
Trick or treating here is on Sat & the same with a couple other towns. Very good idea from officials.
Thanks for that Celeste I needed it!
Very grateful for my furry alarm clock who woke me up right on time.
Governor moved ours to Monday
Still praying for Mom's power to be restored....
Just found out that I have voice mail messages from my home phone even though the phone doesn't work!
Isn't electronics grand?
Thanks for the poem, Celeste! Yes, I believe living a useful life does help soothe the pain of loss, and love can still grow.
Celeste just texted .. Some prayers needed for Ory.. Has to get an appendectomy :(
Wow, so young!
Praying
Oh Celeste...praying.
My appendix didn't come out until 3rd grade. That was in the 40s. Tell him that he will be fine.
Thanks everyone, she came through with flying colors and was very brave. She has 4 very small incisions, of course on her little body they look big!
Tiffany took Ory to the Drs. this morning,(stomach aches, vomiting and diarrhea) she urged them to do due a urine culture and a blood sample. He counts were 18,000, they should of been no higher than 10, 000...they sent her home any way. Told Tiff to bring her back tomorrow if she wasn't better. When Tiff called and told me what was going on and how high her blood count was...I said go to the ER now, I think that's her appendix!!!! She was brought in @ 6pm and was in the O.R. @ 11pm. So glad she did NOT listen to the doctor, it would of burst over night. The tube that goes from the appendix to the kidney was also inflamed. They may have to go have more test for that, we will have to see how she is after she heals.
I'm very thankful for all your prayers AGAIN....I feel bad having to ask all the time. Beginning to feel like a broken record, so thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I mean bottom causes that's where im at. Really don't think I can handle anymore. :(
Oryanna loves "Hello Kitty" this was her on Halloween morning ready for nursery school.

So happy to hear she is ok
Glad to hear Celeste. My sister though much older, was sent home from the ED only to have my mom take her right back for her appendix. Ory is definitely a cutie!
Sooo glad Ory is OK♥ So much scarier when it's a child going through something.
So glad Ory made it through fine. HUGS for her and you all.
Not out of the woods, spiking a fever this morning, they are keeping her. Also, a Urologist came in this morning and doesn't like the way the tube is that leads to the kidney. They think it's a birth defect.. she AND Isabella will need to have a series of test as Isabella has had U.T.I. problems too.
Praying for you all Celeste {{{♥♥♥}}}
Oh lord more prayers going out
So glad that you knew enough to go to the ER. Sorry for the other problems but better to watch now rather than be surprised much later.
I had a Tdap shot this morning. That is tetnus, diptheria & pertussis. I had asked about the whooping cough since my vacination was in the 1930s. With some people not vaccinationing their children nowdays I felt vulerable to that. Was do for tet anyway. DH says that he was jabbed so much before going to Korea (some shots twice because the army messed up his papers) he figures that he is protected against everything.
Wow, Pixie....can't believe you had to go through all that....will keep Ory in my prayers! And you, too! Thought I was suffering with my Mom here a week, but I'd rather do that than have something happen to any of my grandkids.....
good call celeste - so has anyone spoken with the first doc?
prayers sent!
Oh, My! Celeste, you are a miracle! Your family is so blessed to have your good judgement about the appendix. Prayers for Ory, Isabella and your family, for sure. I'm betting they all have your determined genes, so they'll get through it. Still, sorry to hear you've had so much happen out of ones control.
Hope they are both ok
Thanks everyone...Doctor said Oryanna's kidney is not functioning to capacity. She will be on antibiotic until she's see's the specialist. We are looking at a long haul im afraid. :(
I had a young lady, Sarah live with me when she was 14 until 19 and is now a ER /RN and had Ory yesterday. She also know's the things my family has been through lately and how distraught I was last night. Today she posted this for me to see .....im so very thankful for her loving ways and her insight.
"WHEN I LONG FOR LIFE WITHOUT DIFFICULTIES, REMIND ME THAT OAKS GROW STRONG IN CONTRARY WINDS AND DIAMONDS ARE MADE UNDER PRESSURE."
How true, Celeste and how very tuned in she was to you and your needs right now. Continuing prayers for Ory's journey.
Your family is in our thoughts & prayers.
Hugs Celeste .. Wishing the best for her
47 MORE days until SOLSTICE
