Well here we are , who could have imagined that doing my 1st DG Christmas Craft would lead to a 6th...not I!!! Must mean we've all enjoyed it through the years.
From the Best/Worse and What did I learn thread a few girls decided that maybe as we couldn't get together in the person and their wanting to do Victorian Santa Christmas sleighs that we'd try our luck with doing a workshop on-line here..
Now because of the artistic skills needed and listening to all saying they'd never done such projects we decided to keep it where anyone could join in and have a work of art after it was done..hopefully no-one would be disappointed!!!
The sleighs were beautiful and all enjoyed..many of their friends and relatives received homemade treasures that year..omg was that 2007??? Time flies...

The following year the 2008 DG Christmas Project Workshop doubled ... a Victorian Santa it would be, omg you can't imagine how wonderful these santa's turned out, bet over 100 were done in all, each and everyone different than the other. A great success!!

Our 3rd. year we enjoyed several projects, all mostly Snowmen, I also included a kit to make iris folding Christmas cards..all enjoyed and I'm sure additional cards were made and sent out..
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1048304/
Our 4th. year all enjoyed snowman and trees on a base..even some grandchildren participated which made it even more endearing...

Our 5th year, 2011 Candleholder trio which did brighten up our lives...

With postal charges going up, crafting supplies considered, it's always a challenge to come up with a project for $20.00 to include supplies and shipping!!!
Our projects are always fun soooo if you feel as though you would like to join us, please sign your name and a kit will be cut for you
I'll go check for photo's of previous workshops so you can see what others enjoyed doing!
For Payment, I would ask you simply include $20 in a card, am sure post office is efficient and I will have no problems getting..
Now let's see who joins in...

6thAnnual DG Christmas Craft/creating treasures with friends
I'm In!! and looks like I am first. These are always so much fun and I have the goodies to prove it, whether I kept it for myself or gave it as a gift. Can't wait to see a picture of this years treat.
Ahhh thanks Janice, glad to see you found us..
As always it will be fun..might be two projects included, just have to check things out but thought I'd get the list up and running.
Got to go through a few totes to find this project, the other I have in mind I have to minimize then I'll post photo's.
Add my name too please? can't wait to see this years project!
I'm in as well please!!!!! I love all the things we have made. BUT, no Sean this year - he thinks skates are "girly"!
Lol Barb, tell him they are black
If this is still open, I would be interested. Thank you.
Welcome Rockette
Will add your name and provide more details as the project/projects unfold

Was just a wondering....you and Liz have never missed a one..glad to see you posting and in good spirit!!
I'm IN!!!! Probably shouldn't be since I don't know what I'm doing with where I'll be living and moving and working 70-80 hours a week, but what the hey, if I don't get to it I can have Christmas in July, right???
crissy, I'm so happy to see you post. big hugs, katie
I'm happy to be posting, but it's short lived for now, as soon as I get this divorce behind me it'll be time to start end of year stuff here at work and that always pulls me away from chatting for a couple of months. When did life get so busy?? LOL!
sign me up too please
YEAh, Crissy is here!

There is a Christmas swap going on, if anyone is interested. Check it out. Sign up ends next Wed.
OK ladies, wood has been picked up, some of my projects, seeing I have one on Saturday, is marked and ready to cut tonight..as I looked at the 30" snowman, done in 4 pieces I thought now why didn't we do this one, bit more substantial, so question to all of you..who would rather have the snowman than the skates???
Need to know in a hurry because saw will just be a zipping.
Booked a room Nov.30th in Buffalo which means the boxes will be sent out then..you will all be over your Thanksgiving and ready to do some painting.
Webcan doesn't take the best of photo's, will try to remember to take a better photo tonight..
LindaKay got your $$$
Snowman; however, if the skates is less work for you that too is okay for me. Thanks Betty!
Oooow think Id rather do a snowman..butwhatever majority votes Ill do.
By the way welcome rockette!! You'll be sure to have a blast creating a Christmas treasure...Our hostess teacher Betty is awesome and we all just have so much fun sharing ideas. Never one the same!!
Mannn, Betty sorry to say my $$ isgoing to be late again still waiting on the issue to clear.
Lol maybe i can borrowthe cash from one of my working kids, haha I'll see if I can entice them into doing one too!
Ok got my 4 branches, lol homework done...um we were suppose to collect 3/4 branches or am I thinking of something else??
Betty, did you receive my $ yet??? I would really like the skates as I did the snowmen. But if everyone else decides on the snowman, then that is okay with me too....
Skates it is Barb, and snowmen for those who want it..not same type of snowman though, he's too cute!!!
have the skates out to cut as well..looking forward to having them boxed up
Love that snowman too Betty, let us know if you need more money for postage, looks like it will be heavy to mail all that wood.
No, don't need more $$$, just think he's cute.
must add some sparkels and snow to the box, wouldn't be my workshop if I didn't
looked at him as I'm cutting and thinking, where is his arms..had to check the book, 2 mitts hold a welcome sign so no actual arms..lol..thought to myself now wouldn't that have been nice, no arms..but all is well
Working from home Friday so will finish cutting skates and packing up what needs to be packed and write out instructions for posting here.
From my experience..when I mail on Friday or early Saturday morning from Buffalo usually at most it's a 3 or 4 day travel time before everyone gets their packages.
More as a reminder for myself, will go when I think of it and mark what goes into the box..
ohh I would love to do the snowman please :)
will be sending my money with the charm squares...I finally remembered to buy envelopes, but now I have to work Thurs and Friday, and babysitting Malena ^_^ Saturday......yikes....will try to get stuff out Saturday anyways....or it will be Monday....
Happy Thanksgiving everyone..here is hoping by the time you go to bed tonight your tummy will be full, sides sore from laughing with family?.enjoy your day!
You are amazing Betty and if it is easier for you, I'd be very happy with a snowman. Did my $ arrive?
Dropped into the mail this morning, hasn't arrived, am sure it will before posting next Friday..
No, skates it shall be..
Went to the saw mill this morning, wanted rough cut wood but the man opening the mill office said they didn't open till 8am, would have made me late for work so will have to go tomorrow in Midland but if I don't meet up with Jeff tonight for supper in Barrie I might just make it before 5:30pm..mills have office hours. Lol
Betty, will that fit in a box to mail?
Yes, actually very nicely, in pieces..head, 3 body pieces..hat brim, welcome sign, mitts, heart & a few decorative pieces..had a med size flat rate square box and almost enough room to put me in!
^_^
Morning, who is off shopping???
Been up since early morning, didn't even have my first coffee
Yes Judy, 5 branches, a snowman head will be attached to one of them..wasn't in original sign up, you know me, hate to throw odds/sods of wood away..got to be a project to use them up sooo checked the box, they'll fit in so coming to you are snowman heads/nose and neck ribbon..
Now where are you gals, sure could use some help dusting..will clean upstairs but will leave downstairs till I'm finished cutting and can completely clean and dust
OMG Betty!!! No wonder you are so tired and can't move anymore!!! You are incredible!
No, that doesn't tire me..
still sniffling, raining outside and damp, just chilled and achy bones from the cold/flu
feeling much better
glad I'm working from home
went upstairs for coffee and started to finish last edge on placemats that Melanie made and I'm helping her with and forgot the coffee, so going to try it once more and add toast/jam
wish I had some of everyones leftovers
