thank you... so happy I didn't have to go to the laundromat... but we were using the back up back up underwear.. LOL
One of the things furnished by TBM is a tractor trailer outfitted for showers, another is a trailer where they wash and dry your clothes for you.
They are finally on their way to Staten Island. They are equipped to serve 30,000 hot meals per day.
Still have you all in my heart of hearts. Feel a pang of guilt that I am not touched.
Hurray for Allison!
Happy, happy day, Allison! LouC, don't feel guilty....Texas has had its share of problems as well.....
hurray! glad you have power, Allison.
today I have seen the working crew geting closer to Pirls place, hope they will have power soon and that they are ok. Etelka
YAY Allison!!
Just found this thread - duh!
Congrats, Allison. Hope you don't lose it on Wed!! (Me too!)
oh I know.. I might cry
Me too.
So glad that your power is back, Allison. It has been a bad time.
glad you have power allison!!
Hi Guys, glad to see so many have checked in and are ok. Sustained minimal damage at home, but my hometown sustained major damage. Power is back (Thank You Michigan linemen!) Hoping the next storm is just a bit of rain for everyone.
Hi Weeze! What is your hometown?
Doing the happy dance for you, Allison!
Glad you didn't have major damage, Weeze!!
glad to hear from you Weeze!!!
Brick, we had the gas fires that wiped out homes pictured in Jen's link to before/after. The first picture I saw of the Mantaloking bridge brought me to tears. Dexter's final trip over that bridge was in June and there was a beautiful rainbow arcing over the bridge. Thinking of that moment now, I guess it really was Dexter's rainbow bridge. We've almost finished clean up at home, so I'll be looking for volunteer work to do on the weekends.
Thanks Jan and Allison.....nice to be warm!
aaaaaawwwwwww made me tear up Weeze... hugs!!
Randy's Aunt's house in Brick is trashed.. staying with her sister up here.. not sure if it's a total loss or not.. but I think so
Sad to hear Allison. I know many homes were lost in Brick. My brother has a home way out on the bay. His house is ok, but many of his neighbor's had major damage or complete loss. I tried to get to my brother's house on Thursday but the police weren't letting anyone but homeowners through. I didn't know why at the time, but I've since heard some looting has happened. Like things aren't bad enough!
Already ordering Brick evacuations.

I have been praying for power to be turned beck on to all those in the dark BEFORE this new storm arrives. Still praying but have included a prayer for minor damage...or a miracle it goes out to sea!
Glad to hear your OK Weeze!
I really like the'going out to sea'.
Weeze, I'm sorry about your town, & about Dexter.....definitely a sign he was going over the" rainbow bridge"....I would have been crying.......
good to hear from you weeze and glad the power is back

I would have been crying too Weeze
I am buying one of those lanterns! Well - if they have any left...
Yes - agree on the LEDs. Just bought a few of those lanterns. Thanks, Allison!
those lanterns are only 8.99 on amazon
never mind, they have a shipping charge on them
Don't tell me that, Jen. I have Prime so I get free shipping on all 'qualifying' products.
I have prime too, but that one is not eligible
I'm not here on the NE threads very often. I just got power back this afternoon. It has been very difficult being in the dark literally and figuratively. I need to get myself a battery powered radio. Imagine if I went to get gas on the wrong day and started a riot. I sure hope this snow storm is nothing much.
Onewish1 - that is a great link to the kcup press. I found out that I can make a really awful cup of coffee without my Kcup. Now I'm off to empty the fridge - even a turkey is thawed so I'm not taking any chances.
Glad that you came through the mess in good shape.
