Well, Thank goodness for the Rain!! lol, just to keep you in to rest.

OH, really how exciting, I sure hope Bertie will be able to come see you with sunshine, That would loads of fun!

Well, yep think that my anx attack was due to the fact, it was Friday night and frown face here i didn't know what to do with myself! Tired of working around house, that and i was feeling guilty for having a beer, I just have to get myself into a nice routine different then what Im used to and lol I just didn't know where to start, so freaked myself out over it...so watched a couple shows with Steve all the while breathing excercise and finally just fell asleep, woohoo, I survived! This morning to help get over the morning thing..(cigs) I actually picked up a pen and did some mindless writing!! lol, hence the emergence of my list and the start of my project, so that was good, lol plus it was quiet work!!

Yep, hope those folks decide they do want the house...Steve went yesterday to blow the leaves. He ended up dusting around the inside to, really spiffed it up, lol thought it would just be an hour, hahaha, 3hours later. So today he's off to Menards to get materials for his project. ohh, maybe I'll go with just to see if i can sneak a goodie into the cart, big cheesy grin. Plus, I guess a couple other showings for this weekend.

Oh yeah, LOL, was just thinking this morning, its Halloween weekend!! Time to get decorations out! Yes going to find a good place for Mrs. Noseworthy!! She's a bit too long for the front door, So Think she will stand next to it on the wall! Plus, i'll put out a few decoration in the front, we don't have much, so it will be quick! It's still rather cold out so i came back in...Will work on dusting and start clearing that craft table!

Well. better get moving...yeah, Betty you have to at least decorate a little bit, will be fun!!

Linda Kay, Wow...The place mats are sooo pretty, Kathy will love them! So glad you got a lot done on the granny squares, bet you'll get those last one hundred done pretty quick...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, you have undertaken quite a lot, beer and cig gives all at once, know health wise you must but don't you be having panic attacks because of it. Go along with Steve, outing will do you good, besides he might throw something in the cart just for you...and what project pray tell is he doing?

How's Jakes, is he back into sports are still in the healing process..meant to ask when we met up but all were so excited and we were all chatting about a zillion things, all spreading ourselves around that I really didn't get to talk a lot with you..saving that for another meet up. Lol

Ok, will go in back shed and look for at least one tote and also take down Ms Noseworthy and hang her on my door. Drats, with 30 totes or so with seasonal decorations wouldn't you think I'd be smart enough to mark which totes hues which totes..maybe that could be this afternoon's project.

Working on Melanie's Dresden table cloth, gee whiz, took forever just to appliqué around the dresdens...break time, actually lunch then I think I will follow Judy's lead and go find some Halloween pretties. Think tonight I will also plug in the lazer light system I bought in Frankenmuth and see if it will work facing the house on the outside to add to the ambiance for little kiddies.

Seems most of us are having same weather and all finding something to do!

Half between resting and adding an odd chore..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

The afghan I am making will be a white background, red borders, and a green Christmas tree in the middle.
Wow, those passes are expensive, and I would be complaining about that prices too, going up because of gas? Does it take gas to print them?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Christmas Afghan, how wonderful..excited to see it. Will it be for you?

What we are paying for is manpower and gas for equipment to groom the snowmobile trails..although gas has gone us, we've less snow and so there is no way it would cost them more as they are grooming less and less.

Each snowmobile that runs the trail must have a sticker or a hefty fine to be paid..they've enlisted more trail monitors so chance of running into one is great.

Just finished applique'ing around the dresdens, takes forever is seems to do the stitch but so much quicker than by hand..now to figure out what I shall back the piece with?? so dark outside almost tempted to have a nap BUT that would be the end of being productive so best not.

Kyle said he and Noah were going to Meaford once he got off work..was thinking of asking Greg to come over for supper but that would mean 'cooking' could say he and I would go out for supper but I'd have to get dressed..gee whiz, think I just want to play!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, that is so pretty!
yes, the afghan is for me, finally making myself something. It may be a gift later on, but for now it is mine!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm afraid we are cut from same cloth, rather give it away than keep it..much more fulfilling..lol

What a time I'm having finding enough fabric for the back, guess it really doesn't matter what goes on it as it's the dresden's that will show..had enough of what I used the the dresden centers to make an inner panel, now just adding various christmas fabrics till I get proper size.

That's what you get when you buy randomly, no project in mind. Karen when in Frankenmuth gave me enough blue xmas fabric with Santa's on it to do back of the 'present' quilt so am ok for that, likely won't get it done until I get back from Buffalo on the 10th unless of course I get the fabric from Marion to finish off the border..

Will definately have to take inventory of what I need.

Feel it getting darker outside, had taken time for lunch but must have got a brainwave, ooops, forgot to eat so now it's an early supper, some of that maccaroni/tomato goulash

We are still having a steady rain here and seems like it is 6:00 pm instead of 3:00. Went to the store for a few things and it was packed!!! Long lines and most registers open, which is amazing.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hi Judy - thanks for the thoughts re: my job. Although my friend Glaide said Bob had said he didn't need me to go to work, when I asked Bob he said he didn't say that. Maybe he was just saying I didn't need to stress about it as much. Whatever - he's still a sweetheart, and I will get a job..... the Lord willing!! HIS will be done......
Sorry to hear about your anxiety attack. Those are nasty - I've had them in the past, so I know.

Betty - $200? How much were they before? Price of gas has to do with maintaining the trails?

LK - 23/day? WOW you're sure busy - those 100 will go by quickly, I'm sure, and then you have the sewing.... do you do it with machine, hand, and is it thread or wool you use?

I'd best get back to my RR - I got 4 done, now have one more, and just washed the starch out so it's pliable cotton. Bought it already starched.... makes it slippery to work with!
THEN I'll mail them off to the next in line for the Round Robin - 2 groups.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh - waited so long for me to post that Betty said what the extra $$ were for, so I have my answer.
That Dresden of yours is gorgeous, Betty!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

The yarn is made by Bernat, it is a Christmas holiday yarn, green red and white with silver metallic thread going through it. All crochet is done by hand. With old crochet hooks my Mom left me. Makes me feel good using her hooks, knowing they were in her hands once. When I quilt it is done on the machine.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I used to have that yarn - beautiful variegated yarn. I made a long toque and mittens for myself with it. Slid the mittens over another pair, for warmth, cuz I made them large enough to...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Still have gone upstairs for lunch, get caught up in something else and keep telling myself I don't need to eat twice a day anyway, need to lose some pounds...aint that the truth.

What a crazy thing I did..got the back made for the table cloth, looked for batting, had enough if I put 2 pieces together..okay, overlapped a bit, pinned the entire thing ready to quilt, look at it, thank goodness and because background is white I could see the overlap so unpinned. Trying to decide now if I should take a run to Walmart while they are still open and buy some or wait until early morning and go..what to do what to do lol

Sometimes I wonder if I'm sane.

Susan, they were $200 per trail permit last year, gone up this year..public should ask to see how many times in the previous year that they groomed, keep them on their toes.

LindaKay, that variegated wool will certainly do justice to a christmas afghan..it's a pattern you are following in just going to use your talents to create the tree??

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

tsk tsk tsk Betty - go have something to eat, even if it's only an apple!!
Of course you're sane.......... and here Walmart is open until 11pm...... 7 days/week.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just got back with bag of batting.. now I can eat and relax!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

good - glad you're relaxing! I know you're sore, and achy, but did you finally get rid of those headaches, and the pain?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Only had to go over to June's..she had extra. Lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

huh????

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Not variegated yarn, all separate colors. Betty, your friend June had batting?

You can also cut the pieces to line up straight, and zig zag the edges together to fit, so they do not overlap.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

So LK - it isn't the Merrier Multi all-in-one ball, but rather the separate balls of red; white; breen, with the metallic thread through them?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Good old June, it's almost like shopping in a wool and fabric shop, her husband kept saying 'take more/take more' lol

I've watched American President about 20 times, just came on so will call it a night in the sewing room..did manage to do the entire inset..outer border left and voila another project done.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All ;

Too Funny Betty... sounded like Kyle handled that "Trouble Customer" very professionally ! Thunder... DS loves those lounge pants too... I need to think of a new pattern to find for Christmas for him (pants not material LOL)
Oh Katie - you mention plants I've never heard of ...and I find that fascinating....
Debbie - Happy Birthday to Jeanna !
Went searching for a few photos to post last night and ended up down memory lane.
Found birth day pics for DS.... wow... Judy - I think you should tell Hubs that if he gets a HOG you should get a DOG... LOL... you know I've always loved your writing. Hard times in my life... journals always helped me....

My Bedroom has been on my "List" but it's so far gone, I've got to divide it up to tackle. As Debbie says dust bunnies on my dust bunnies.... so started on it today.... 1/4 of it I should say....
Part of the problem when you're going through old things is stopping to read the old cards and letters....

Found a few journals I'll put away.... Happy times lately not as much stress with girls in college (It seems so sad that I say that but it is true)

Invited DS to bring his GF over and we ordered out sushi and they picked a Disney Movie I had not seen "Tarzan". It was a Great night and I do hope it becomes a tradition.... DS GF is a Disney fanatic too albeit the movies not the parks.

Hubs is sick AGAIN. Either working or sick.

Hugs,
Mary

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Your poor DH........
I know what you mean about divide and conquer your clutter rooms..........and bunnies LOL

Well, have just finished the last Round Robin center I've been sent for the RR swap I'm in..........
Now, tomorrow or Monday I'll get them sent (likely Monday........)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mornimg

Up early watching coverahe on Canada's largests earthquake (7.7) and the Hawaii possible tsunami..frightening for sure. They evacuated in Hawaii but things are starting to have a more positive outlook..better to be safe.

Mary, Julie asked for photo's of Jeff and his dad, for some reason it's something I cannot do, not sure why it is overwhelming, guess I don't want to go through memory lane right now.

Hope your memory lane travels brought you many smiles..thankfully less stress in your life..you've certainly been going through a difficult patch. Having DS and Gf for the evening and enjoy Disney, your all time favorite would be so much fun for all of you..bet there was a lot of talk about your family trip to Disney.

As for your bedroom, breaking it into smaller components is a great idea, you see some improvement so more apt to take on more today.

Susan, bet you are thrilled to have those inserts done and ready to mail out..less stress in your life.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

just poppin in to say good mornin' ^_^ Have a Great day Y'all, and be good!!! I have another early day at work.
hopefully I will not be too tired to do anything when I get home today.....sure was just to pooped for anything yesterday.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Waving as you leave for work Thunder..let's hope you are back in time to start that costume..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not sure why I thought the time changed this weekend but not till next weekend..I'm confused..lol

Glad I got the batting last night because it's just 9am and I've finished what will be Melanie's throw or table cloth..turned out ok

Now trying to decide if I should make another the same for Julie or pick another pattern..looking at the clock, still have all day to play

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, what size are your plates for the center please? You gave me the template, and I have Christmas fabric here, and would love to try that one. What is the finished size also please?

Liz, post a picture of your yard please! Would love to see it! How are you feeling?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Betty, I am also curious about the size of the plates used in the tablecloth. Are cut using the templates you had made?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohhh, sorry, had called Aunt Muriel to cut up her squares so she could work on her rag quilt..know I shouldn't have, but ended up putting them through the accu-quilt..she was thrilled, on her way to sew the "x"s..told her if she took after her niece she'd have it together by tonight. Lol

as for the piece I did the end measurement is 56"x 56"

The template was for the 40" dresden

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Love those decorations Liz! Do you make your own props?

My hands are doing OK, the fingers I broke last year are still giving me fits, I have had them checked out by a hand specialist, and he says they are healed, but they still hurt when I use them, and OH boy, if I happen to hit them on something they really hurt. I have learned to use other fingers when sewing and stuff, but I guess now it is arthritis?

mulege, Mexico

Linda, you can make rice-filled and fragrant mittens for your hands. Heat them up and wear them when you go to bed or vegging in front of the TV.

I'm not in pain but I sure don't have much energy.

Dana and her friend Sandy came over yesterday and admired the dragonfruit flowers.

I got some seeds from Australia. They are for something like a gigantic pine nut. The seeds are huge. I think I'll start them in grow bags; they are too big for regular seed starting containers. If the trees grow and fruit they will be as dangerous as coconuts.

My knee is doing well. The rest of me is dragging but this, too, shall pass.

hugs, katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Katie, I will try that!

Pacifica, CA

yes we make our props lol
i tell Kenny his ideas are so sinister.
