1st Annual 'Christmas Friendship Gift Exchange' in Memory of Santa Warren

We were all thrilled last year when Dianne and Santa Warren brought up having a Gift Exchange amongst we friends, often thought of more as family.

"I guess we should decided on an upper limit cost wise, I would hate to see anyone withdraw because they were afraid the couldn't keep up with the Joneses (old Welsh expression). So I guess we should consider a guide for the cost factor, it doesn't have to be hand made"

No amount will be set.. gifts either handmade or bought will be within each others budget !!!

Deadline to participate is October 15th

names given on the 16th

mailing by November 10th as to be ahead of the Christmas rush

Jeff called me, he and possibly Julie and the boys will meet up with me tomorrow night after work so we can have our Thanksgiving Dinner together. Gave me the update

It was Julie's brother's wife..the ones who own the cabins on Lake Scugog that Jeff spends time with.
The women is in her late 40's..here is his account.

Julie's brother had to go away overnight due to business meeting.
Julie's SIL got a call from a cousin she had not seen in many years, said that he and a friend were in the area and could they come over for the evening.

Julie's SIL made finger food, few bottles of wine (she doesn't drink much)

She said she doesn't know what happened, she passed out, awoke to these men raping her, when she fought back they beat the crap out of her..both have now been arrested!

Family did that to her? OMG....keeping her in thoughts and prayers. And to know it is someone she opened her house too and trusted.
Sometimes that makes it so much worse.

talked to my Sailor last night :) always so very good to hear from him. He is moving to upstate NY in November. I was kinda hoping he would stay in SC for this next class, as It is close enough for him to come home once in a while. he says this class is going to be lots of hours and lots of work, so he probably would not get much time anyways, such a good son...always something to say to make me feel better!
Hubs says he will only be a few hours away from my Momma, so maybe he will get to go visit her?! that sure would be great!!

Soldier is off on a job ?? anxiously awaiting news of his safe return...

Betty, Watertown is about 4 hours north east of me....up near the Canadian border I think. North of Utica.

Something must have happened in Watertown or it's where some friends go to shop..sound so familier.

Darlene's BIL just dropped Mae's belongings off, I'm to bring them home and Darlene will pick them up..they are transporting Mae to Midland hospital this afternoon. Darlene will feel better it being closer.

I WILL be joining the Santa Warren Christmas exchange. Katie & I are going in as a team. Her mail system is apparently horrendous, so it will work for us. Please give us one name and we'll see our "buddy" gets something nice for Christmas.

Now that is quite the plan..how much fun that will be.

Been making a list of things I need to do after work, with t.v. bingo and now that I will be meeting up with Jeff/Julie and family tomorrow night won't have time to do a lot of what needed to be done before I roadrun again so tonight it is.

Been to the fabric shop here on my lunch hour, just opened, two young ladies running it, can't be more than 25..very/very knowledgeable, looked at all the pretties, fabric and panels, but talked myself out of purchasing..if by any chance I don't see what I want state side then I shall go back Monday. Did purchase a Christmas Poinsettia wall hanging pattern,done like stained glass, a Seasons Greeting piece and picked up my crazy quilt template. Guess who is getting old and can't see as well as she used to??? yep, picked up a needle threader

Darlene just called, she is so tired but doesn't want to go home, wants to see her mom through the evening, asked if I would go visit her for 10-15 minutes and if I would she'd go home..so promised I would..

Norm and I stayed in Watertown on our way up to visit you Betty. Then we met Thea, then Dianne, then you and then Debbie on the way home to beat the hurricane. It was a whirlwind trip but so much fun....

I just spoke with Judy and she asked me to let you all know, she did indeed keep her appointment with the Doctor as promised.Unfortunately they found a bit of an issue with her Blood Pressure.....and have sent her to have a few tests run. At this point, nothing major....just her Dr. wanting to make sure all is okay. She will check in as soon as she has some results, but did not want y'all to worry if she didn't answer her phone.....it can't go with her for the tests....GRIN

Just a reminder folks that if you address has changed since last year's Christmas Exchange I would appreciate you D mailing me your correct address. I am tthinking in particular of our Crissy.

This new diet the doc has me trying makes me hungry all of the time. Before when I rarely ate I was never hungry now trying to get 6 small meals into me in a day is making me ravenous. My blood sugar is waaaaaay too low and since I am not a diabetic the doc is going about trying to right things by diet. Personally I think it is a conspiracy to get me to eat.

Debbie I am so glad that everything went well when you met up with your friends. Feels good to have someone treat you special doesn't it?

Had to go into Kingston to take care of some banking business - hopefully this will be the last of it. Heavens if I had to sign so much for what little Warren had put aside imagine what the widows of Donald Trump, Prince Charles. Howard Hughes et al had/will have to sign.

Norm goes for his first chemo tomorrow. Hope it is as easy on him as the docs predict. Interferon knocked him on his butt before. This new stuff isn't supposed to.
I'm sure Thea is kicking up her heels and having a wonderful time. She still has another week plus before coming back home.....
