I have Beast on my Netfkix list
we watched beast last night - it was "different" to say the least.
we saw zero dark 30 - sold out theater - very, very good - can not believe no best director nomination - really well done
Saw Impossible last night. And the point of making that film was?
Edited for spelling.

saw ted last night - do not waste your time.
I want to see Zero Dark 30.
Memory, I'm not familiar with Impossible.
Bill, I've been wanting to see Ted. I will still see it and draw my own conclusions.
Saw a movie on TV the yesterday with my nephew, an older one called Friday with Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. It had some very funny moments, but as stories go, it wasn't the greatest. For a really funny black comedy, check out Norbit with Eddie Murphy. I laughed so hard!
Oh, I saw The Guilt Trip with Seth Rogen and Barbara Streisand. It was cute, but not great. Would not buy it.

if you like bad acting, juvenile humor, and some raunchy lines you will like it.
Karen - It is about the 2004 Tsunami in Thailand - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2253133/Boxing-Day-Tsunami-Survivors-2004-tsunami-left-horrified-ambushed-trailer-movie-Boxing-Day-tragedy.html.
you can watch a 8 or 9 part film on you-tube of the tsumami from real footage that is really heartbraking, it does follow families storyies
I remember the event and the home movies people were taking. It was genuinely a catastrophe.
I dont go to theaters anymore but watched IronMan.Loved the transformer stuff and pure inventiveness of the whole film.
Its amazing what Robert Downey can do when not on drugs.
I also watched Sherlock Holmes over the holidays.
Watched the Golden Globes until 9:00. The Hostesses were just a riot.Hope they are regulars.
Will Farrell was funny for the first time ever in my book.
Yes - Downey is very good.
I have the same opinion of Robert Downey Jr., ge. He's the reason I watch all the Ironman movies and ENJOY them. The movie is actually very entertaining and innovative.
I remember his 'comeback' on Ally McBeal. Was very impressive.
Charley Sheen should take a chapter from Downeys recovery book.
I like Robert Downey!
Did anyone watch the golden globe awards last night? I enjoyed it but Jody Fosters speech was really odd!
She came out sorta. Its uncomfortable to reveal your team.
I didnt see her speach but all day on news programs there were snippits of it.
i thought she came out a long time ago - yes it was a strange speech - i thought she was saying she was retiring from acting
That's what, any were saying, Bill. Remember, this is Hollyweird. She must have missed her last therapy session. If she came out last night, it was the worst kept secret. Does anyone really care?
News people commented on the fact she came out ages ago.I think the stress of the night clouds minds.
I heard her retract the "end of acting" remark.
When interviewed.
I want to know what was on Tommy Lee Jones's mind.He looked so dour all evening,it made a You-tube video.
He looked like he was having a horrible time.
I dont think he would have been there if he werent nominated.I havnt seen him in years past.
constipation or gallstones more than likely.
wife saw jodie say she would never quit acting in interviews after the GG. So who knows what the heck she was babbling about - actors. It looked like only Robert Downey and maybe Mel Gibson knew.
Is anyone watching Season 3 of Downton Abbey? I realized how hooked I am on this program when I watched it instead of "The Good Wife"!
I am! DS is hooked on it too.
I cant stay awake for the Downton Abby show but have ordered the 3rd season on disc.
I have the first 2 seasons and DD and I spent a snowy weekend watching all of it.
Such a breath of fresh air and civility after potty mouth half hour comedies and cops and torturer shows.
I am by no means a prude and have lived more than a quarterinch off the ground but I am glad I dont have HBO.Waaaayyyyy too many bouncing boobs and bottoms.
Keep hearing about Downtown Abby. What's it about?
Like Upstairs Downstairs but bigger house and more money
I watched Beasts of the Southern Wild. The little girl deserves all the awards she was nominated for
BUT.
I found the movie poorly edited and choppy as to storyline.
I realize it was a new movie maker so I cant use the same judgment as I would if it was Scorsese.
I would give it 3 stars on Netflix
I am not sure about her winning the awards, as most of it was a narrative from her with few speaking parts. still for a child that young impressive.
Watched Groundhog Day. Had never seen. Liked it a lot.
I like Bill Murry.
I liked the groundhog!
Yes, Bill Murray is talented. Never saw Lost in Translation but plan to.
He is getting great reviews for the latest movie where he plays FDR. Hyde Park ??
I'm looking forward to seeing the premiere of the new series with Kevin Bacon called The Following. Looks like it'll be good.
I have not seen Downtown Abbey. Haven't seen Beasts Of The Southern Wild either.
Karen
I saw the ads for Following.I am a K.Bacon fan anyway.
Dont break the bank to see Beasts of Southern Wild. There was a big too-doo over the little girl but the movie was so-so.
I'm a Kevin Bacon fan too hopefully the new show will be good.
Best ever Bacon wasMystic River
