We saw a 3-D version at AMC theaters and pretty soon forgot all about it and the time went quickly as we were involved in the story. This movie seemed to pay more attention to the relationships than the earlier Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings. Even my DH who is not a Tolkien fan enjoyed it.

Look forward to seeing it.

We watched A League of Their Own the other night. Had never seen it. Was quite good. Saw Clue last night. Silly, but fun.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I loved Clue the same type of comedy as Murder by Death, ever see that one?
and League of their Own was a good one

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No, never did. I remember when it was out.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Received the new Spiderman for Christmas, was good when it finally got going, I thought the beginning was too long and drawn out
Also got the Hulk, that was ok

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

the new Batman was pretty good.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I loved the new Batman. I have not seen the new Spiderman. I loved the original with Toby McGuire.

Is anyone here a Star Wars fan? I love it, but I love the older ones the best. I don't know if it's because they remind me of my younger days or what. There's just something about them that the newer ones could not even come close to.

Last night I watched "The Greatest Story Ever Told" , today I just finished "The 10 Commandments" both of which are newer versions I had not seen before.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I had recorded the Lord of the Rings when HBO was free for a couple of days at Thanksgiving. Perfect for New Year's Eve!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

star wars was on last night - hard to believe it has been over 30 years - pretty lame special effects compared to today

Watched The Three Stooges over the weekend. Was cute. How can you go wrong with both Sofia Vergara and Kate Upton in the same movie?!! Mama Mia!

The guy playing Curly was really good.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

That was a great movie, got the kids into the stooges

Biggest Loser....geez you're a grown man, get off your butt, stop crying and get back on the treadmill!!!! the kids weren't even crying while exercising!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

saw the Hobbit last weekend - it was good although not as good as any of the trilogy - 3D was ok

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I took my nephew to see the Hobbit this past weekend. He loved it. This was my second time seeing it. First time was in 2D. This time I saw it in that high def 3D. Awesome! The clarity of the picture was amazing! A friend came with us, and she said that high def 3D really bothered her. She's been having trouble with vertigo since seeing it, especially when waking up and getting out of bed. I have heard other people have had that experience as well.

the 3D was standard gimicky to me - birds flying towards you or rain - did not really affect how the characters were viewed.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I can't wait for this 3D fad to pass. Enough already.

Anyone else like this song, 'Home', by Phillip Phillips? I like it a lot.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I do, it's catchy. I like a couple he did on idol, disease and volcano.
