((((Thea)))) I will work on a "new " bunny picture for you today.

I had the day from hellooooooo yesterday. Long story short...had to move the childs "belongings" along with two kittens home. Its a mess, entire
apartment belongings on my front porch covered with tarps. And up in her bedroom....two kittens!!!

I didn't sleep much, and don't think will for awhile. A child with a brain injury is like....well, it is like she has dementia and ADHD all in one. Had long chat and went over everything....and at 11:00 last night texting me in a panic over everything we had talked about.

I am needing coffee.....and bacon!

I don't know how to do a link. I just Google National Hurricane Center and go to the Pacific side.

Tony is here but says the road is not good. If rain starts again I'll send him home.

We have mice as well as ghekkos and the ever present cockroaches.

Prayers for Norm and Barb.

Not awake yet, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, sending hugs..again, not sure how you cope on a day to day basis..know I'd break down big time..think you need a drink instead of coffee. Will add you to my prayer list for sure..hugs dear friend!

Katie, might be a good thing if he goes home early, likely will be worried about his family. Jean provided me the link..will check it out!

Ahhh took 2 pills last night, my mind must be a bit hazzy..good excuse right?

Thought an easy thing today would be to take plexiglass and cut templates for LindaKay and a few other sewers I'll meet up with in a few weeks..well the giant size Dresden Plate turned out perfect..think you can make anywhere from 5" to 42" (42 great for tree skirt) anyway..I decided I'd cut a few 10" half hexegon templates..know I asked you all before, would every side be 5" other than the bottom which would be 10"..cut 2 and it doesn't gel..I've got 5" on top, 10" on bottom and CANNOT regardless of how I calculate/measure get 5" on either side..nope..anyone any suggestions???

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, a hexagon is a 6 sided shaped, and all sides are equal distance, so if one side measures 5 inches, all sides should be the same.

Victoria Harbour, ON

try it on a piece of paper LindaKay

just did and not working out..off to look at the link

but the good news is the dresden plate template turned out 100%
will drop in to Home Depot and putchase more of the plastic

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Waving!!!!

They voted on pictures for the front of the Pond Society calendar on Wednesday. A picture of my pond won! YAY!

One of Bertie's will be on one of the months, too.

Off for a manicure! Hugs and prayers for all!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Debbie - Love, love, love that bunny pic - so funny, I laughed!!
Sad situation with "the Child".......... what would she do with the kittens, are they staying with you???

Betty - we got insurance with the same co that insures our vehicles, so it's just added to the monthly payment, and being an older vehicle (1975) didn't cost much. I AM counting down. Need to read the manuals in the Motor Home......

Thea - I'm going to a Fall Supper at our church, and that means I DO need to cook for it - have a turkey in the oven as we speak. We have cold turkey, and we take 1 or 2 turkeys each to roast, and there's also 4 done at the church's kitchen. Last year I used a friend's convection ovens (2), but I haven't heard anything from her, so I haven't askedher.
Well, time to head out to the grocery store for eggs!
Oh, and I baked 4 pies for the dinner, too - 2 Saskatoon, 1 mincemeat, and 1 apple pie. Donated 20 lbs of potatoes as well.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Yaaaaaaaaay Joyce!! So glad you won!!!!!!!!!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

If a hexagon measures 10 inches from bottom to top, and you want to do 1/2 hexagon, then the bottom would have to be 5 inches just like the sides. If the bottom is 10 inches across, the sides (all 4 of them) would need to be 10 inches also given the shape of a hexagon.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'm sure if my brain were working, I'd understand that............ oh well, good thing I'm not doing a hexagon lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cookie, so glad to hear your picture won! Nice job! Are you going to,post your picture here for us to see?
Susan, what is Saskatoon pie?

Verona, ON

O f course Betty I want to be a part of the Christmas Exchange. Looking forward to it again this year.

Love, love the bunny photo Debbie.

Saw an item on City TV news Betty and they were saying some of the orchards have none for self pick and they have had to buy apples to have some in stock to sell. Glorious day for move in at Meaford.

Lyndonville, NY

Yes, I have the grandkittens here. Dad said "NO CATS" and they are now up in her room. Shelter is full....so....I told her she has to deal with
Dad and take care of it, I am not getting involved because I will cry.

Verona, ON

Stick to your guns Deb don't get sucked in to the forary with the child and DH. You don't need that right now.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, added your name..about 3 weeks ago was in Meaford and normally you see the trees laden with apples, hardly saw any..will really affect them. I was thinking to save myself some energy next weekend for our Thanksgiving is to go to Grandma Lambs and get the apple/blueberry/cherry pies they make and freeze, t hat would only leave lemon merangue and pumpking for me to make. Is there anyone of the craft vendors if they are still there that you would like me to say hi to?

Thanks Jean, know the hexagon is quite simple in measurement, will wait until my body isn't full of drugs to try it again! Although the template I have didn't quite have even measurements I decided to sew another tree top runner and see how the pieces fit together..fit perfectly SOOOO LindaKay if you want a template for it I'll cut one out. Let me know, also throughout a few months I know I say, I'll pack it up..I'll pack it up..if I've promised to bring you something can you let me know what it was so it will not be forgotten.

Debbie, knows it's hard..some days I think of Greg/Mel going through various stages of Aspergher Syndrome and pray..Kyle as he's growing older seems not to be going as bad with temper outbreaks! Does she have Paul wrapped around her finger?

Let's hope it improves for you having her home. Bet you didn't need the extra kitties but they sure are cute.

Glad Susan the insurance wasn't off the wall, seems no matter what I add it's big premium..pay for trailer I don't use, boat I don't use, extra mileage insurance (do use) lol and premiums just keep rising. I even added extra insurance because the girls come here and craft while I'm at work, just incase they fall or get injured.

OMG Cookie, how exciting is that..will have to find out what magazine, where to purchase..you must be on cloud 9 as is Bertie.

mulege, Mexico

OH, Deb, wouldnn't you like to come visit me in Mexico? You could hellp me with physical therapy and we could walk on the beach. Such difficulties with the child.I have no advice or help to offer except an escape plan.

Tony just left for the day. He filled sand bags and put plastic where windows and doors tend to leak. Yes, I am up high so my danger comes from salvaged doors and windows, not from a house full of water.

It's still nice now but I paid Tony in case the rain starts and he can't get here tomorrow. Gave him some extra to help with the hospital bill.

Mosquitoes are bad. I'm hoping I don't get West Nile Virus. I'm groggy - maybe dengee (sp?) fever or just an allergic reaction to bites.

Made some almond flour/cheese balls last night and they are pretty good.

hugs, katie

Lyndonville, NY

No, she does not have Paul wrapped around her finger (like the oldest girls do) but he said "We created her together...we will handle the problems together".
BUT...that said, he is not a 'discipline" type of father. He hates confrontations with a passion and will usually give in so he doesn't have to face that.

Me, I get so attached to animals...it is like giving a child away. As I say, never been hurt by an animal, only comfort......but family and people...yes. Perhaps this
is why I don't venture out much.

Katie, would love to be there to help you and walk on the beach too. They told me during my PT that walking in sand would help my legs. LOL Should have bolted to the south beaches then!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Let's see Debbie, if I picked you up in the morning would we be at Katie's for Thanksgiving, would hope mine and not yours..guess Debbie if push comes to shove he'd back you up..he's a dear to think that way, many men do not!

Katie, are hospitals as expensive there as they are here?

Going to make a coffee, please pass me a cheese ball...

drats, fridge is empty and I'm getting company .. I'll explain I don't eat in lol
Big shopping order is next weekend, am sure she will understand..perhaps if I wait on her there will be no need for her to get to the refrigerator..

1/2 hr left before grass cutting..think I'll sandwhich the runner I just made between batting and backing and start random quilting.

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
mulege, Mexico

Medical care is much cheaper here. I suspect insurance is almost nonexistant. Costs are nothing like in US and I'm not sure about Canada. I didn't ask Tony what his father's care cost. Gave hime some extra money and told him to tell me if he needs more. kb

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I don't know if my extended license would let me into Mexico or if I would need a full passport.

Victoria Harbour, ON

We'll just have to get that passport Debbie, you just never know when we have to fly the coop..just think of how many places we could escape to, think it would take forever to find us..unless of course we decide it's a must to post on DG lol

grass cutting time..Marg will be here shortly

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I'm glad the insurance is included in our "vehicle bundle" - lowers the cost right there, and adding an older vehicle that wouldn't cost much for replacement is good too. If it were newer, it would cost a heck of a lot more.

Saskatoons are berries, that look like red-tinged blueberries. About 1/2 the size, but oh-so-tasty! They're native to western Canada (Saskatchewan, actually). I picked a bunch in the summer where we camped. There were tall bushes right at our campsite - about 15ft tall. It was a perfect time for picking - all were ripe.

What did I learn? How to easily peel a potato.....
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7375897927147969009

Turkey's out of the oven, now letting it rest and I will take the stuffing out, and make the gravy. Then it's - cut the turkey up and let it cool to take it to the church. The turkey is served cold, with hot gravy, tomorrow.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie, I think your extened license woulod be good to drive across the border, but if you fly you would need a passport. Betty, I would love to have the hexi if you make an extra one!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, that looks like an easy way to peel potato's!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'll include it in the bag LindaKay!

Think I ran around the yard full speed ahead with the lawnmower..grass is cut, likely 5 minutes to spare before weekend visitor arrives. Have several burning bush, Lordy are they red..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LK - not only does it look easy, but I don't think you're losing the extra vitamins from the "extra" most people peel away with their peelings.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All !

Congratulations Joyce !

Yes Thea - bring us back plenty of photos.... TOO funny the cats. Shadow loves to get in boxes. Read about a Cat who crawled in a suitcase the owner didn't find out until she was unpacking at Disney LOL.....Really amazing the cat was okay though....

Katie you are so good to that Tony I know he missed you....

Debbie ((HUGS)) My dear.... Guess you saw that writing on the wall (Child moving back). I think Betty should pick you up.... Drop by here on the way to Katies...... Hubs doesn't discipline either.

Susan - Thanks for the Video... Loved Mary Ann on Gilligans Island....

We are headed to Lafayette tomorrow wiht MIL/FIL. DS and DSGF will ride along in their car. Visiting DSD2 for her College Parents day... DSD1 is meeting us there and will ride back to BR for the weekend. I'm getting real worried that DSD1 is homesick. Don't need her moving back here... just TOO much drama.

Walked right in and handled the issue with Bossypoo..... no worries... other than her attack Tuesday I have really had quite a Great week

HUGS
Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Safe travels tomorrow Mary.....praying for good weather and "good attitudes" by the DSDs.

Weekend is going to be non-stop....and I didn't even get in a nap. Although DS was home and made me lunch and tea. We are compromising....its hard.

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all, late for me, fun chatting and catching up, you know me catty Cathy!

Safe travels Mary..let's hope your fears are for not and she loves it there..

Debbie, bet you are feeling as though you are walking on egg shells most of the time..glad you are being spoilt

Tired, big day aheadn gab later

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I have gotten to a "panic" issue when the phone or text goes off as in "now what"? Did I tell you she had an "accident" on Wednesday night also? Leaving a stoplight...the person in front of her stopped suddenly and she rear-ended them. No damage at all....no one hurt...but the woman insisted on calling the police and DD got a ticket.

I hope you enjoy/enjoyed your company.

Baton Rouge, LA

Debbie - Hoping and hoping that DS is coming around..... making you lunch and tea... maybe he is realizing that you need his cooperation....

Thanks Betty - we'll see how tomorrow goes... (HUGS)
Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Mary, don't know if it is that....or that he is no longer working and "padding" his back...just in case he needs something. Disagreement at work, and he said they were not fair...and he just needed a break. No idea if or when he is going back. Has been looking for other jobs.

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, chilly out there...note to self 'dress in warm clothing' for the Applefest!
Calling for rain but likely not till late afternoon and by then we should be home.

Starting the day with prayers for both Norm and Barb..let's hope Norm got a good night's sleep..likely Barb was up all night with worry..

Debbie, no, you didn't mention the accident, drats..glad no one was hurt. Some just do not give kids a break. What is the ticket for, following too close?? How many points would that be? Shane sure is going through a rough time of iit..let's hooe he gets his act together and sees that he is going nowhere behaving like he has been..jobs at this time of year aren't easy to come by..sending big

Mary, you've a big day ahead of you, hope it's enjoyable and no issues.

Katie, hope the storm is missing your neck of the woods!

Breakfast is ready, muffins just out of the oven ..Marg is sleeping, will give her another 1/2 hour then wakie/wakie.

Darlene said she would call around 7:00 or so if her eye was cleared..apparently quite infected..ohh Marg is up

Imagine, wanted to give her the back bedroom but she said the bed was made up so nicely she would rather sleep in the boys room..brought her pillow and sleeping bag, doesn't want me to have to wash all the bedding..shaking my head. Brought enough treats to feed a family, told her back into her car they go, she said she would leave them for me..ahhh do I look like I need a zillion calories?

Know I'm missing a 'hi' to many..just waving for now but will be back

Time to start my day!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Had a long day yesterday at the hospital with Norm. The surgeon was able to laser some of the lesion and found a small new tumor. We will be meeting with the oncologist and the surgeon again on Wed to map the next few steps. She had told us that there would need to be more laser treatments so we were not surprised. She was able to shrink the tumor by almost 50% so that is good.....Thanking you all for your prayers. They mean the world to me and Norm....

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Wanted to say Hi Thea!! So excited for you about your trip!goingto look forward to seeing photos! Omg saw the Alps from airport ground in Switzerland, just fabulous!! Wishing a marvelous visit...haha on the kitty photos! Thank you about the house, part of the problem is our realitor keeps showing it to people who want a basement and or forced air!! How dumb, since we have it listed as no basement and that it has a/c units...I keep telling dh to get a St.Joseph statue, so we can bury him in the backof the yard,oh well, hahaha, thats my selling advise.

Betty, sure hope your feeling better today. Have nice visit withyour company...oh yes also, what an incredible job on the memorial quilt for Darlene. Love the blocks you created. I know it must have been a bit difficult. It was that way for me too especially in the beginning.
Darlene is sure to love itandfeel all the love you put into it too.

mulege, Mexico

Good Morning, everyone,

It's been raining here quite steadily. No heavy winds and the rain should soak in. Tony is not here - smart man. The storm was dowgraded to a tropical depression last night; today it's back up to a tropical sotorm but it's much smaller. We might get lots of rain, which is OK. The heaviest winds are across the Sea of Cortez.

I got some of my stuff for sewing cut out last night - finally. I felt like I was going to be sorting and organizing and never getting anything done.

Slept pretty welll. The rain has cooled things down. I have a slight headache this morning; probably due to mold caused by rain. No big deal.

Deb, your daughter might consider appealing the ticket. If she explains that the person ahead of her slammed on her brakes unexpectedly, the judge may dismiss it, especially since the policeman wasn't there. (I've had a few tickets myself.) It might be worth trying and could help her to feel less powerless.

The desert should be beautiful after all this rain. Our dirt road won't be.

Tony just got here. Said the road is passable and he's not one to take advantage if he can get here to work. We'll go to town in a bit and I'll get groceries. Nothing essential but the road will be bad for severeal days and might get worse.

More prayers for Norm and Barbara. And the rest of us.

hugs, katie

Glenview, IL
