Passed the 1,000 mile mark on the bicycle today.
Get out there & raise a sweat!

Best/Worse/What did I learn today?visit with friends
Hey Dianne, how are you doing? Are you back home?
Andy, that is a lot of peddling!
Taters, the bike has changed my life. No kidding. My cardiologist & GP Dr alike have mentioned the benefits of building the 'core strength'. The larger muscles. I feel confident & strong like never before.
All that talk about good workouts is NOT hype.
Get out there & raise a sweat!
Andy P
Andy I can surely believe that a good workout is a life changer..... Good going you !
Morning all
in the 50's today, fall day for sure! Calling for showers Saturday, am hoping not as the festival in Meaford is on..
Slept in this morning but did wake during the night to check for reort from Barb re Norm's visit with doctor yesterday..prayers and positive thoughts continue.
Andy, I'm so excited for you having found 'biking'..your sister certainly left you a gift of love. The love of biking has brought you not only a love of biking bit good health.. My son Jeff says it's addictive!!
Mary, maybe witchypoo goes home at night and reflects on how horrible she is with staff and thus comes the apology the next morning.
Katie, you must be worried about Tony, he's not one to just not show up..here is hoping you get news today..rest my friend, think you are taking on a bit too much.
Dianne has been under the weather and asks that I help out by setting up 'Santa Warren's Christmas Exchange' so when I get to work I'll do so
Oops, look at the time, must run!
Morning everyone!
Sorry to hear your not feeling well Dianne. Maybe if you get some rest and a good meal, you will be feeling better soon.
1st Annual 'Christmas Friendship Gift Exchange' in Memory of Santa Warren
We were all thrilled last year when Dianne and Santa Warren brought up having a Gift Exchange amongst we friends, often thought of more as family.
Looking back through the threads of last year at same time, I laughed/cried with and for many of you.
Santa Warren was going through such a difficult time, had his earthly Angel Dianne by his side. Santa Warren enjoyed picking our names and as each of us received our gifts he ohh'd and ahh'd right along with us.
We were pleased when Dianne said she would be thrilled for us to once again have the exchange.
I will add to the top of each thread those who wish to participate..
Dianne posted the following last year and it still goes...
"I guess we should decided on an upper limit cost wise, I would hate to see anyone withdraw because they were afraid the couldn't keep up with the Joneses (old Welsh expression). So I guess we should consider a guide for the cost factor, it doesn't have to be hand made"
I believe no amount was set.. gifts either handmade or bought were within each others budget and all were absolutely thrilled with their Christmas boxes especially seeing as each others likes were taken into consideration..we sure knew what would please the other.
We are right on target, can you believe Dianne asked me to post this yesterday, September 25th and it was when I looked back September 25th of last year we posted info on the gift exchange.
So lets see, if we say the deadline to participate is October 15th. names given on the 16th and mailing by November 10th as to be ahead of the Christmas rush, would that suit everyone???
Thank you Dianne for hosting this Christmas Exchange and we will look forward to our names..
Will if you would like Dianne, I can update and add to top of each thread info pertaining to the Christmas Exchange
Remember, scan to top of each following thread to see the updates
Sure hope you can join us!!!

Add my name please? So excited to have another Christmas swap with all of you!
Adding you now LindaKay
And me too - this is a must for me.
To bring you up to date with Norm, here is how yesterday went.
We had bad news and good news yesterday. The good news is that the melanoma is only in the windpipe - nowhere else. The bad news is that it cannot be removed-only try to shrink it with chemo and radiation. If they were to remove a piece of the windpipe, he would have his chin sutured to his chest so that he could not reaise his head and stretch the neck at all. It is a quality of life issue and Norm does not want that at all. They will do a laser broncoscopy to stop the bleeding and then we will meet with the oncology team to plan our attack. They want the broncoscopy done this week and we meet with the team next Wed. So we are taking things, one day at a time waiting for them to call with an operation time. So, If I don't post often, it's because we are busy. I always follow along even I can't post...
Again I tell you all how grateful I am for your concern and your prayers. That mean the world to both of us...
How absolutely overwhelming Barb for both of you! Am sure Norm is making the right decision..
thank you for the update, we've all been checking in. Sending warm hugs
Sending lots of prayers your way Barb! Thanks for the update!
Hi...Geesh, coulnd not access the internet at all yesterday.
Continued Prayers for Norm. Sending you Both tight Armwaps and lots of prayers this treatment works for him.
Congratulations to Andy!! How awesome for you, both the Riding and your engagement.
Wishing you much happiness.
Yes Betty please add me to the Santa Warren Christmas exchange!
Thank you Debbie for message about Crissy!
OMG, Jacob is injured, (knee) My morning has been crazy trying to get him into an appointment!
Finally got one but it's not until next Thursday...This is so not good.. He could loose out both in football and Wrestling!! I don't think he realizes yet, if they ground him, no scholarship, what a big mess...
hate to say, depends on how much this will cost us, I may not be able to do the Trip, will let you know.
Thank You ALL for your support on my quilts, you have no idea how much it means to me.
Hope your day is going well.
Please keep us posted on how Jake is okay Judy???? Hope it is not too serious...
60More prayers for Norm; what a difficult decision.
Tony is back today. I knew it was serious;; he would never just not show up. His father had a heart attack and was in the hospital for five days, 35 miles north of here. He is much better now and is home again. Tony tried to call me many times without success.
I took benadryl along with my pain meds last night and slept with my brace on. Woke up with less pain than I've been having.
Back soon.
hugs. katie
Sorry to hear about Jake's knee, and praying it is an easy and cheap fix!
Katie, so sorry to hear about Tony's Father! praying is recovering quickly!
Judy, do you have an urgent care center? They have been excellent for us with sports injuries...might be worth a call and not have to wait til next week. AND...something to check into....if it happens on school property...sometimes you can get it at the schools expense "what insurance doesn't cover". AND if you don't have insurance....CALL and ask!!!
Prayers for Tonys father.
Betty...put me in for the Christmas Draw
Barb, I am saying prayers for you and Norm. What a road ahead of you...but we will all travel with you and be just a hug and prayer away.
Waving to all...Bozo the Clown is going down to get her curls tamed and colored!!
Hugs to all,
Debbie
wow Judy, heart sinking here for both Jake and your trip to Frankenmuth..let's hope it's nothing serious with Jake's knee..what on earth happened???
There you go Katie, just said a prayer for Tony's dad..Tony as you say isn't someone who just doesn't show up..he must be frantic.
Debbie, you always feel so much better once you've curls..lol
I talked to my Sister last night, she took Dad in for some pre op test, before his angiogram on the 4th, one of the test was a chemical stress test, and once they hooked up the EKG machine, Kathy was informed that his heart was racing, (AFIB?) and they would not do the test! His blood pressure was only 88/52. Really low! So they told her to call the Dr. and get him in ASAP! So I am waiting to see what can be done for his racing heart, and the low blood pressure. He can not have any type of surgery where they put you under with these conditions. That means they can't remove the toe, and if they don't remove it, the bone infection will only spread and get worse. So we are in a catch 22 situation, Darned if you do, Darned if you do! This may be Gods way of saying not to do the surgery, but then what are we to do about the bone infection?
OMG, that is not good new LindaKay...have you asked your dad what if any proceedure he wants to undertake seeing as he's not a well man? He may not opt for the toe operation..if it were you which would you do??
Hard decision for sure and must be a worry for you..it's these times that one wishes they lived closer..
As I said in the SI thread Linda, my prayers are with you.....
We have told him what is going on, he does not want to have surgery, but yet he is in some pain with his toes! I don't know what I would do, at his age, and all the medical problems he has, it is a hard decision!
My father was similar, not the toe but breathing..we spoke and he said if it were but one or two health issues he'd fight but seeing as there were many asked that we just let him go.. so hard to see them suffer..are they giving him any drugs to help with pain?
oh my...... so much pain and suffering....... Hugs, Love, and all my heart to you all
I'm a bit tired, so going to go have lunch, then over to the church to help Bob - for some reason neither he nor his co-worker are getting response from their boss, so no work today.
That is not good Susan..how long has Bob been working for him..wasn't it not that long ago Bob took on a job and the guy moved on or quit and there was money owing for pays??? sure do hope that is not the case this time..sending prayers
Judy, I agree you should not wait a week to have Jake's knee checked, especially with his scolarship depending on use of it. Also cause I just had knee surgery. An easy fix can go way bad in a week.
Feel like my head is full of fog. Time for a nap.
hugs, katie
I am sure he is on pain meds. Thanks for all the prayers everyone!
Susan, sure hope he finds his boss soon!
Bob's boss apparently texted him an hour & 1/2 after he would normally start work, but by then Bob had headed over to the church to buff the floors, so he didn't hear his phone. They normally start work at 8am, and finish at 4pm. His boss didn't come to the job site, and then didn't text him until 9:30. Don't know what's up with that......
Let's just hope it's a 1 day occurrence and Bob will be back to work tomorrow!
Crissy just emailed..wants to join in Santa Warren's festivities, says she will soon be back.
Barb and Norm, Crissy is sending prayers..
LindaKay, meant to ask, when does your family leave for holidays..day you arrive?? They will be nervous going.
Anytime now BJ will ve leaving on her adventure..having a bit of trouble with new teeth, hasn't forgotten about us, will gab when life gets back to normal.
Debbie, you havent mentioned Izzy, any more adventures?
Wonder how Shirley is doing with the move?
Bev, you ok? Still looking for our Suse..
Wonder how Marion' mom is doing?
I'm in nightie, still have my headache, early night!

My Sister and her hubby are just going away for the week end, day after I arrive on the 11th. When they get back, we will have a nice week for a family gathering. My Brother is flying in from Washington also, to see Dad.
Anyone heard from Liz lately?
Glad you are all getting together..will be good for your dad plus you'll enjoy seeing everyone. Must contact her to see if she'd like to join in..Judy will likely let her know...she has been good re her diet and not smoking, that alne will help her health..Kenny will keep her fit, he is such a character!
Hi.
Were having just a marvelous time over here! Not.
Had to have the truck towed, heavy sigh.
Thanks, I'll keep you informed on Jake...so far he has been hobbling around, keeping him iced up. He has been playing and the meds at school just now said have it checked out...Im thinking well why do you keep playibg him? I made the appt. Thats the brst I can get...have to go through the tribe cause we have no insurance. They didnt seem too concerned since he is not in horrible pain and can.move. I hate this
We had the best insurance and never needed it except a couple of times now we do and have none! Just aggrevating...now Jake feels horrible for being injured! Just not right.
Katie.Im so glad Tony is ok...Will keep his dad in p rayers. IM Glad he is home and on the mend.
Linda kay...also keeping your Dad inprayers. Such a decision.
OH!! Betty please do add Liz to the gift exchange! Thank you Lk forAsking. Yep talk to her not long ago. They have been doing ok. My gosh, just getting the hang for her new diet but now Kenny wasnt feeling well so went to get checked..turns out he's been diagnosed with type 2 diebetes! So they are getti.g the hang of testi.g his blood sugar and another new diet...(Liz said Ican let you know). Lots of adjustments for them.
Geesh...WE sure have alot going on (I mean everyone here)
Its wedenesday. Sending up some serious prayers.
Going to say good night, i cant think anymore today! Lol...have to reread in little while.
hugs and prayers, for Barb and Norm............Judy, Steve, and Jake...............Tony and his Dad....................Dianne..................Katie............Linda K and her Dad..............Marion and her Mom............. everyone else in need....
definitely add me to the Santa Warren swap.
Judy if something happened at school, school should pay for doctors, and you should not wait a week!!!! buttttttt I do know how that goes sometimes, Kyle broke his hand/thumb, (at school) and it took a lot of yelling from Dad, to get an appointment to get a cast put on!!!! still took almost a week..... very crazy to have to wait so long for medical care.
Barb my heart goes out to you and Norm but I'm praying for the best....
Katie for you and Tony and his family as well....
and LK for your dad and family....
Judy you too girl.... hope Jake gets to a Dr. agree if it happened at a school function the school's insurance should cover it.... DS broke a toe at school and they would have covered it....
Dianne & Betty please add me to the Santa Warren Christmas Swap.... we had so much fun with that last year !
HUGS to all....
Mary
Morning, cold one for sure..brrr. So dark out there, after I had my bath I was tempted to head back into bed.
We sure had a day of it yesterday, so many of our DG friends hurting, needing prayers..started my morning with prayers, asking the Lord to watch over every one of you.
Thunder, I remember when going to school we had to pay $$$ towards insurance just incase of an accident, let's hope the s hook does have coverage. Judy, maybe pulled muscle and Jacob will be better today.
Drats on Kenny, guess now the new lifestyle that Liz is following will also benefit Kenny. Diagnosed in the nic of time.
thunder, no package yet??
Mary, weekend coming up, what is in. Your plans?
Dianne, will be visiting your old haunts this weekend. Sure wish you were feeling well enough to join me in attending. Hope Diel is giving you comfort?
1 1/2 hrs left before I must leave for work, must be something I can get into
morning all,
prayers for those in need, so much happening,
Judy thank you for posting , yes count me in the xmas swap.
thanks LK for asking just overwhelmed in this diabetes thing Kenny is too perplexed to get it, so it falls on me but its a new challenge to understand, been keeping a diary and have a apt on the 10th with the pharmacist to go over all of this again and explain more.
we will get it eventually oh and while i remember was it you who was looking for the double wedding ring quilt i have it i started one but i got lazy and said forget it if you want the template let me know.
Waving Liz, can imagine how you are both stressed out..will take a lot of adjusting and learning for both you and Kenny..but I'm thrilled at the health progress you've made, can not have been easy! Give a hug to Kenny for me, tell him to behave!!!
Liz there are diabetic counselors at most every hosp. If you call one near you they can direct you to one. They are so great with explanations and information. Norm has type two also and we have gone to one every time a new question/problem arises. They are worth the time....
Also meant to add: Norm has his laser broncoscopy tomorrow at 6:30am.... It is an hour and a half to the hospital so we wil be up at 4:30 to leave by five. It should be just day surgery as long as it goes well. Then we meet with the oncologist next Wed. Thank you all so much for the prayers.
