Chaps should be required as protective gear for weed whacker usage. :)
Coffee Break # 84
Hubby wears rubber waders
Rubber boots is a good idea - I think that I have some - somewhere....
Good suggestions!
won't completely vent on here.. but nothing like going for an interview and know you were completely lied to.. words can not even convey my anger right now.. at least ones I can't use on here
Oh, dear, I am so sorry for their behavior. (((((hugs)))))
onewish1:
Can you file a complaint with a gov't agency ?
You might get re-considered, if you don't mind a hostile workplace.
A lot of places have low-key hostility levels, even towards well-behaved employees who have never made a fuss.
I think all 50 states have some sort of bait-and-switch laws on the books. Just mentioning "possible legal action" can sometimes get results; employers don't want legal costs, or a community black eye.
Tell the (bad guy *blanks*) that TV stations and newspapers LOVE to reveal abuse stories like this, so that the "average Joe" will become a sympathetic regular viewer.
Also: were these interviewers "harvesting" the personal info of the prospective job applicants?
They might be selling those social security #s or addresses, or your phone number to supplement their business activity.
In the 1980's, I went through a detailed application form at Radio Shack, and AFTER they collected my personal info, they said they had just filled the position....and they refused to give me back my application (or to black out the ss # !!!!!!).
We have to get pro-active about these kinds of practices, folks.
I have a long way to go to retire.. and won't win.. the whole thing was so unprofessional I was sickened .. knew it was not off to a good start when they requested that I turn off any phones or recording devices before they began
So sorry Allison ((((♥))))
Sorry to hear, Allison.
OMG did you guys see that house explosion in LI?.. it's gone... family & baby inside.. think they said 10 people in there
:(
OH NO!! How horrible!!!!!!!
i can understand asking to shut off a cell phone, who would even bring a recorder into an interview? sorry allison.
did not hear about the home in LI - terrible
Oh Allison - that sucks.
Difficult to work for an unprofessional company.....but in this economy, I can see why you can't quit......
My sister who lives near Prescott in Arizona declared bankruptcy late last year while neither she nor her husband had jobs or prospects of jobs at the time. Hubby finally got a job last month in Phoenix - so he rents an apartment and comes home (2 hours) on the weekend. Now she has been offered a job in Cottonwood which is 125 miles from where their house is located! Jobs are very sparse in Az and this is a County job so there are benefits including lifetime medical insurance if she retires from the County. I am glad that I am not in her shoes!
Gotta go where the jobs are and do what ya gotta do I guess

Thats awful, so sorry Robin!

the family must be suffering
Tragic.
The paper this morning just said no foul play was suspected.....cannot see how the searchers & tracker dogs missed her...she was found only a 1/2 mile away from the doctor's office.....our town is just shook.....she volunteered at the Bloodmobiles & for the library & schools.....a very religious family, I know their faith will help them through this....thanks so much for your concern...it helps...
Faith doesn't always answer questions, but can offer great comfort.
So nice and quiet, it's the kids 1st day back to school........... WOO HOO!!!!!
Walked behind the dam for the 1st time in a year....it's been closed even to walkers, but now open to walkers only...no dirt bikes....yay!
