Coffee Break # 84

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

tough little guy there celeste - hoping for the best

rafting down the colorado in the grand canyon must have been awesome. i hear there is quite a wait to do that.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Don't know about that, wha. His FIL was supposed to go also, but had hurt his knee badly and needed surgery. DIl's cousin and wife went too. My son grew out a beard for the trip and DIL said that the river guides were very jealous of it. Heehee.

She said yesterday they were on a raft, helicopter, 2 little shuttle buses, a little plane and a larger plane. They were taken to a dude ranch where they could use the shower facilities. After 7 days she was glad for that.

'Forget' the popcorn at the movies!

Can't believe that the pharmacies already have the flu shot! Used to be at least mid-October. How do they know so early what the dominant strains will be?

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I saw the information about popcorn - it is actually the buttery flavor that is the problem.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Think your job is tough? My homicide detective BIL recently investigated a case of a severely autistic five year old boy who had trouble dealing with jealousy over his recently born little brother. When the mom was out of the nursery, the older brother pulled out the drawers of the dresser and used them as steps to climb into the crib. He then threw his baby brother across the room, killing him.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Oh how horribly sad that is.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

How horribly sad!!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

omg.. terrible

Thomaston, CT

What a tragedy for that family!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - incredibly horrific. The DA wanted to charge the mother thinking it was her. Duh - the drawers killed that idea.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yikes. Just read this.

"Dr. Suess actually cheated on his wife while she was sick with cancer for 13 years - When she killed herself, he married the mistress."

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I can't eat microwave popcorn anymore, it gives me an instant migraine

How terrible!

what a great guy that Dr Suess

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I bought one of those old style oil poppers a while back when they brought those chemicals up.. I use coconut oil in it.. it's very good

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I do it old school on the stove top

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Rarely ever eat popcorn.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Love it!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hate to waste corn that could be used for ethanol. ;)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

My late MIL made the best popcorn, she used an old fashioned one like Allison.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I like popcorn, don't make it often though.

Thomaston, CT

I shouldn't eat it, but every once in a while, I do...make it on the stovetop....then of course, on goes the butter!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Sometimes I make old school popcorn - in a pan with grapeseed oil. Then I sprinkle nutritional yeast on it.

Ethanol can be made out of just about anything - or so my Dad says.

Thomaston, CT

Memory, you certainly eat healthy...even your snack is good for you. Today I baked a small ham, served with sweet potato salad, applesauce, & my last jar of pickled beets.....

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

In the interest of full disclosure - I ate a whole bag of licorice today.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

LOL!!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Heehee!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Organic? Free trade? ;)

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

a whole bag!?! :)

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

From Australia - bought it at Big Lots. Edited to add - yes I ate the whole bag. That is why I try very hard not to buy anything full of sugar - because I can't stop.
