Lucky you Jen, I have another week until the my grandgirlies are back!
Sounds like a nice place Marilyn.
We took the girls peach picking this morning, now I have to find something to do with 20lbs of peaches!
Pies and cobblers I guess.
Coffee Break # 84
smoothies
Send them this way? Just an idea for you
See....laughter is the best medicine! Peaches make great jam!
Better idea Jan...come on over and get some :)
YUMM hadn't thought of smoothies. Never did jam, guess I could try, I do like it and buy it often.

Hmmmmm.... Very tempting
Yikes, we just got new phones...this is gonna take a while!
Hi all. There's been no time even to click a cell phone camera, though maybe this week! Our triplets start college moving-in next weekend. They're nearly all ready, working until we leave. I'd like to record the music they play before they go.
How are people handling the weeds with all the heat and thurnderstorms? I've resorted to spreading paper bags in the garden.
I am sure things are crazy at your house now with all the preparations for the BIG moves.
The weeds are on their own hahaha. They seem to be doing just fine w/o my help.
Same here, Jan....there in the garden, & not budging.....I just shake my head....good luck with the college-bound kids, Rosemary....talk about an empty nest....I cried with one, can't imagine with 3......
what did you get Ronnie?
My bill from today's purchases at the drugstore including kids' prescriptions and a month of contact lenses came to about $900. And they had been collecting stuff all summer. It's been easy to get our cars serviced. Everyone who sees me walking offers a ride and we share what our kids are doing. This is a milestone the same as a birth.
My weeds seem to grow very well as Robin and Jan observe.
Allison I got a pantach smartphone...first time for me with a data plan. So far I like it, just have to get used to new things. I've been basic for 15 years LOL!
Good luck with the move Rosemary, enjoy your empty nest for awhile....they always come home!
don't know how I lived this long without my iphone.. LOL.. have fun with it!!!
I was going to get the iPhone last week, but David told me to wait til the new one is out in Sept, so I wait.
I like the fact that I can now be with DG ALL the time!!
debi that new phone should come in handy for baby pictures.
still do not have a smart phone
I have no phone other than a landline.
I don't have a smart phone either
I told the geek at Verizon I wanted a phone for emergencies....no tech anything! My son & DIL have all the bells & whistles.....
I am trying the Pantech Emerge, which is an Android. Either I'm not used to it or there are some bugs. Very tempted to exchange it for the iphone. The pairing of the phone with the tablet is what sold me, so Apple would cost some big bucks while the Pantech is under $200 with the plan. I'm still very conservative with its use because the minutes for the data plan go way too fast and everyone is trying it out. I thought I'd try it while we're traveling soon.
ATT guy told me by end of september there will be some changes in the data plans. They said it positively--one cost for an entire family plan. My DS says it's because they have to start limiting the public's use because everyone's getting them.
Thanks for the good wishes, Ronnie and all.
We went with Verizon and the phones were free. My plan with Sprint would let me upgrade for free phones, doesn't make sense, lose the customer or give me the phones. I got the share everything plan but won't be sharing the data with my husband...he got the dumb phone! :-)
Randy usually gets the dumb phone because he looses them.. or breaks them.. no Iphone for you!!!!
Yeah, my phone was free too. It's the data plan that costs the bucks, and an ipad would really cost some money in a package. My DH was talking about getting a smart phone, too. That's when I sprang for mine. I really need it for work and he seldom even charges his. It isn't fully reimbursed by the commonwealth, though I do get a slight discount with either ATT or Verizon.
(not admitting I have a phone) A Trackfone was given to me 4 years ago. I would buy a 30 minute card and it had no experation. I have bought 3 cards in 4 years.
Now the 30 mins will expire in 90 days.
The whole matter of having this thing is when Jim goes up into the woods with the tractors. If someone got hurt out in the middle of no where, I accept them having a phone.
If you want me bad enough come see me.
So true. We've become very dependent upon instant communication. Problem for me is that I'm expected to have instant communication in work. It's gone that far.
I have a basic cell, I can call, text, send pictures....good enough for me. The only reason I got the phone is the first place is because of Justin. I found having a handicapped child requires you have access should you need emergency help. Also they can get in touch with me if he's not with me and becomes ill or hurt.
Going to the Lobster Bake @ DD's today!
have a great time!!
Thanks :)
BTW, I took my first class last night.... "5K Training for Newbies" , not as sore as I thought i'd be, but instructor said it would be worse tomorrow. :(

OMG... good for you.. I could never do it
It's a 10 week course, then I run a 5K on Nov. 3rd.
better get out those protein shakes for sure!!!
You are a trouper for sure, Pixie!
good for you celeste and it is usually the second day when you are sore - been doing a lot of speed hiking here that includes some long streches of vertical - knees are aching
More power to you!!
You can do it Celeste!!
Celeste, are you going to buy fancy running clothes and shoes that light up? Got to get something good for all your pain!
They are repaving the street I live on. I came home last night and when I hit the driveway - I literally hit the driveway! The ground down street is 8" lower than the edge of my cement apron! Banged up the bracket that holds the stabilizer bar, but it seems to work OK. I put a 4x4 in the street so I can ease up the apron - but I am not going out again until Monday morning if I can help it. There is a sewer drain at one edge of the driveway that has sunk over the years. I will call the city first thing Monday morning to see if they can come out and raise it back up - or I may have to have a new apron poured.
ouch.. that's not good.. can't believe they left it like that
