Does anyone know of a site to get a free credit score? I found one to get the free report, but not the score! Everyone will give you a free score, only if you buy a membership!

LK, you can get your bank to get your credit score for you, especially if you are going to finance the truck through them. as of now, I do not know of any other way to obtain just the credit score. I just love my GMC Sierra...it is a 2007 Club Cab.

Just got an email about some cheap foam insulation sheets near LA so I'll be headed up next week for them and other supplies.

Took two naps yesterday afternoon the snapped awake when almost alseep last night. UP from 11pm to 3am. Cleaned the kitchen and organized some stuff.

Tony filled me in on his situation this morning. His parents, who are both in their eighties, have been living with tony's family for some time now. Tony is building a separate room for them and its' almost done. Tony's daughter, Barbara, a high school student is also home. So is Antonio, his second son, who is out of college for the summer. Today Tony told me that his oldest son Luis, his wife and six month old son are also staying with them. All in a two-bedroom house. How Tony stays calm I don't know but he's a great model for me. Luis hurt his right hand and has two operations on it. It is still very crippled.

I'll be looking for baby clothes as well as building supplies.

The good news is that moving my bed has given me a better place to sleep. It helps a lot. My sleep patterns get disrupted in this heat but I've made it through other summers and most of the Mexicans have a hard time, too. My being here helps me to bond with them.

Need to do laundry and stock up on chicken legs.

Wish I could go to the Elvis event with you Betty. Maybe you could take the extra tickets to the wait staff at the restaurant - NOT.

Lol was going to work today but so far my day has been insane!! Talked to joyce, she says thank you on ber being a new grandma.. Shes going back to California in September.

Betty, Betty and everyone!! I am so excited to report, last night, i got strongest urge to write!! I ended not because we were all together for the first time since we've been back. And it was a perfect night for a fire...but, wow, havent had the compelling urge to write in what 6 years!!

Tomorrow, at 1pm, I'm going to take 3 hours of lessons on how to ride a bicycle!!! A bit nervous, but the teacher is experienced, so I'm going to be fine. Just have to think about bike shorts and gloves....... have several bikes to choose from, plus a helmet! I'll be fine, but will fill you in on the details afterwards........
Oh, and my neighbour lent me her bike gloves! so, I'm all set!

Morning all..

Another busy day, leaving here at 7:00am with or without Darlene..might just be Elvis and I lol. Yet another great weekend of weather for the festival,am sure they are thrilled with the numbers coming into town.

If Darlene comes it won't be a long day, the afternoon portion is sitting out without shade and sitting for that amount of time she just can't handle.

Talked to mom last night, she is doing far better than I thought, she was prepared for Rocky's passing, Jim is having a hard time of it! They were going out fopr supper last night, always it was either she went out or he went out, could leave the dog, well both were on their way out..they even went to Rama Casino Friday night for eats..that part is nice to see.

Furries want out but I smell skunk so putting them off for now..what I don't need is them being sprayed..maybe with both being black and white the skunk would think its a sibling?? Not..

Susan good luck in your endeavor to learn how to ride a bike..I'm sure you will be safe from harm, instructor will have tips on balancing and you will wonder why you've not done so before now..

Judy,you've put a lot off energy into that project, amazing transformation..Steve must be thrilled with the outcome. Is that the house just a few streets from you??

Yes, we took a GMC sierra for a test drive, and it was really nice! Hopefully, the insurance check will arrive Wed, and we will be at the dealership as soon as it does. We will have running boards, trailer hitch, and a cattle guard installed before we bring it home.

This is the bloom that we are "about" to get that we are so excited about...

I've never had a bird of Paradise bloom before. It's coming up right through the Rum Runner Hibiscus.....

That's a beautiful hibiscus. Exciting about the bird of paradise. My Hawiian baby woodrose is blooming. It had one flower a couple of years ago. Now it has several. Non-gardeners don't understand how we coo over our new "babies." I have two mystery plants. I have trouble keeping seeds labeled and sometimes put new seed in a container just in case the old ones finally decide to grow. As a resulr we now have two plants identified only as "not weeds." They have very interesting wrinkled leaves. No flowers yet.

Shopped last night and had a nice talk with my friend Saul who owns a small grocery store which I help to keep in business. ike many of us he is suffering from the heat. He is in his mid-70's and his store supports his family of 22 people, none of whom seem any where near ready to take over management of the store as Saul gets older. Our economy is very bad during the summer, too.

Wish I could go see Elvis with you, Betty. He never visits here.

I will have a lazy Sundsy. I found some lots of baby boys clothes on ebay for Tony's grandson.

Tony has a situation similar to Saul's. He is supporting a large number of family members and none of them seem to realizee that he will not always be around for them to depend on.

My deal for the insulation fell through so I'm researching what else is available.

Thinking of Susan and her bike riding lesson. Did you all see the episode of "Monk" where his father teaches him to ride a bike. A classic with two great actors.

LOL "Not a weed"... MIL was certain before her surgery that she had to give me these cleome seeds... a random flower decided to come up for her in a crack in her sidewalk. The dutiful DIL I am I planted them but I am NOT good with seeds. 2 random "not a weed" plants are coming up... one looks more like the TExas Star Hibiscus I tried to plant earlier...

I"m with ya Judy with the weeds.... Our weeds are starting to look so healthy it's almost a shame to pull them ROFLOL....

Mary, remember the rules...if it flowers, its not a weed....its a fleed....and leave it. lol

Evening all, just home, fell in love all over with some of the Elvis's..lol.

What first class entertainment!! Double wow..Darlene ended up coming and thoroughly enjoyed herself..had I not promised to look after Greg and Mel's furries we would have stayed for the dpgrandmother finale..could believe it when Darlene suggested it. There were line ups of poor souls who did not have tickets so 2 were very pleased that I had 2 extra tickets.

It was a hot one, 86 felt like 97, light breeze, thank goodness. Sat to put my feet up and checked weather, then thought I'd browse New Orleans. 100 feels like 115 much the same for Nashville and Memphis, thinking to myself, why on earth did we not head north?? Beyond me..I'm not impressed lol



Interesting story, it could ONLY happen to Betty.

We left the house at 7am to get to the venue early, for the best seats..while sitting on the patio (had 1 hr to fill) met these two women, maybe just a tad younger than I..they said they loved my outfit. Lol. Did I buy it in Canada or USA..USA of course..then we get gabbing, they are travelers, travel with 2 other gals who can't due to health reason travel anymore so now it's just the 2 of them..one just got back from Egypt (recently loss her hubby so travelled with her daughter)' the other just got back from east coast..conversation goes to Frankenmuth, you know me, love frankenmuth..talk about things in common there, trade best hotel, best shopping etc. then on to my trip, seems they were planning trip to Nashville because they love it there..oh oh so do I..lol then we gab about the trip Suzanne and I are going on..wow, things we love to do they love to do!!!

Did you ever meet strangers that you just know up you could be forever friends with and only just said hi to them..well, that was these two..even Darlene took them, said she could easily travel with them..

Had the one not just returned from a trip I think they would have come on my trip Friday..bet you ALL think I'm nuts..they are checking schedules and just maybe..they live in London Ontario, little off route but what to heck. So laughing, bet not one of you would meet someone for an hour..nope we sat and enjoyed 3 hr brunch with Elvis..I was really touched, Preacher Elvis who did a thank you to the Lord and who prayed for loved ones and for those who passed on hit a note with Darlene who wiped a few tears..the one took Darlene's hand and held it for about 3 songs..I thought how caring.. We sang/laughed and totally enjoyed the gospel venue. If we don't get together before the Elvis Festival we will meet Festival weekend and do all the festivities together..

Yesterday we had the Grad party for Nephew over at their house, quite a few of my nieces and nephews there, whom I hung out with instead of the adults.
Its safer for me that way and I won't have to bite my tongue so much!

Today Izzy and I sat outside for awhile, got a few pictures of the hummers in the tree....and I pretty much chilled.

phew........... 3 hours of walking up hills, coasting down hills (without pedals, no less), and learning about helmets, the ABC check before riding, and all about bike holders for cars, and chains, etc.........
very warm out today, and kept flopping into shade and drinking iced tea with lemon........
I got "95% there" in learning.
When she put pedals on, all I could think was..... "watch my balance, steer, AND pedal - yikes!)
I "hit the wall" and couldn't get the pedalling right - either they were behind my leg and I couldn't get my foot backwards, or I could get one foot on and not the other........ after 2 1/2 hours I was tired, and couldn't do anymore.
I will be practicing this week, in the same park, with Bob - he was there the whole lesson, so he knows exactly "where" I am with this. I hope by next weekend I will be well and truly riding my bike :-)
