We came from here..

Morning all, did call for rain bit what I see as I sit having coffee on the deck is blue sky and happy flowers. Will take a stroll shortly and look at the phlox, finally all in bloom..makes this gardener happy as they are my favorites.
Love Fridays as i get to stay home and work, if one can call it work. Decided not to get out of my jammies until I get ready to go out for supper tonight..
What is happening in your neighborhood?
Best/Worse/what did I learn today? Come sit a bit n chat
Morning everyone! Glad to hear your taking it easy today Betty. Debbie, you have heard that saying, dance like no one is watching! Just have fun!
Still working on insurance paper work, and running to the fed ex office today to get it mailed back. They send everything via email, but it has to have original signatures, so they will not take a scanned copy, I have to print all papers, sign and mail back! But today, should be the last batch! Then I am going to work on the dresden plates!
Should be compensated for your time LindaKay..what an inconvenience!!
Do you still have mega work to do on your dresden's?? like to see photo's if ok
I took out 2 bags of precut tote bag fabric..even found some batting I can make do if I want to work on one today..thought it was a great idea to pre-cut, now I look at each piece and wonder what they are for..will go get the bag I made for ME and see if I can figure it out.
Ned ate Melanie's bag and she's hoping Santa will bring her one..guess I'd best start sewing!
I have 4 done so far, I will post pictures when I get them done.
Betty, I love those colors, that will be so pretty!
Izzy aka Velcro dog...is having a better morning. Went out and did her business MUCH better this morning, so happy things are moving "out" and not blocked up.
So many buds on the ground Betty, not much left on the tree, but they are in clump areas.
This is my hummer picture from last night.
I have actually thought of getting my sewing machine out...but it needs cleaned and worked on, so I have no idea what to do with that. Might have to drive it up to Betty to give it a work over. lol That way I can sew my square pillows!
Is a regular basic sewing machine string enough to make a rag quilt? Thinking of making the kids one for Christmas gift. Yes, I know it will end up a rag pillow with my concentration levels...but I need to do "something".
Thanks LindaKay..
Had made about 8 so now that I've got it layed out it's coming back..
Just went to my 2012 Christmas list to see how many I need, and what other projects I want to do and make a 'supply list'.. think while I'm on your side of the border next week I'll make a point to stop at Joann's and stock up on supplies.
So many of our Fabric shops have closed and those remaining are charging anywhere between $14.98 to $22.98 a meter, too costly when I can get same under $10 in USA.
You have no idea how thrilled I'd be if you did Debbie..we could service your machine, cut out the rag quilt squares on the accuquilt (saves you time) and do your pillows, now how exciting is that..if you didn't want to drive and Paul couldn't take you maybe one of the girls would come???
Where's the photo??
Downstairs sewing, heard footsteps..Jeff, drove up, putting kayak into Georgian Bay and doing 3 days on his own. It's been high winds for kayaking the trent, they took the pontoon boat for 4 or 5 days and windy for it as well..seeing as it's calm and sunny he's decided to do 3 days on his own!
Told him seeing it's Georgian Bay he's heading out in to please e-mail or call a few times so I'm not fretting...get the 'I'm a big boy mom' to which I say ' yep, but you are still my baby!' lol
Oh Debbie, that is such a great picture!
Ahhhh Debbie, love the photo! You must sit by the hour watching for them to land?
No, I am actually standing out in the yard by the tree. I can't stand for long in one spot...especially on uneven ground. SO....its just a bit of patience for 15 minutes tops. AND...half the time they don't land. That one is flying and "feeding" on a flower.
That IS a long time to stand still, doubtful I could..lol
Lenny, Suzanne's hubby dropped in for a sec, asked why grandkids don't have my grass cut?? First of all only Kyle in town and he is working and secondly, didn't want to cut until is rained so it would burn more...ready for cutting though, should have given him the lawnmower!
Afternoon all. Finally I think my daughter Kim has gotten all the things she has needed to replenish her working wardrobe before starting back to work on Tuesday. Seems so early but she does get out in May. Me? I am so tired of shopping...now I know that doesn't sound like a woman but I am tired....to hot to be going in and out of places!!!
Took a break with the granddaughters yesterday and saw Ice Age...really cute movie. Well, I think it was the movie I enjoyed...might have been the time with my girls instead. LOL
We are in a cycle of horrible late afternoon thunderstorms. Will take the rain but the sky to ground lightening I can live without.
Seem quit this morning.....what is everyone doing?
Marion, is this release of Ice Age going to make me cry too? Sounds like it was a great day!
Marion, maybe I'll have to borrow a young one to take to the movies ( or not) lol
Heard great reviews. I was going to say Kim's going back early, our teachers are back for beg of September but then they work until June. What grade will she be teaching!
Nice breeze here, temps about 78, perfect day!
Days are really broken up I imagine when you get daily afternoon thunderstorms..worrysome!
Been jotting down some to do's and like you I'm not fond of going on a gorgeous day but need new sandles for my trip next week and a few things that need catching up on..I'm not a shopper, no idea why everyone other than me thinks I am.
Debbie, I don't know about making you cry....I did laugh a lots. My Mom (in the nursing home) has seen on television that a new Ice Age is out. Apparently she really like the movies and now has asked my sister to see if there is a way she can get a copy to show her.......she loves chasing the acorn!!! This will be a touchy situation as I am not sure when it will be released on DVD and well at 94 you know.
Betty, I will gladly share my girls.......like all children, they can be moody but yesterday was perfect. I will say the had equal time for me and their "Kimmie".......they are the only ones allowed to call her that. If Aunt Kim comes out then she know she is in trouble!!! LOL
Kim teaches high school Spanish and some of her classes are mixed with year levels. 2 weeks after starting her job, she starts her last course working on her Specialist degree. So this first 4 months can be a little rough but she manages.
We had another blackout last night but I got a pretty good sleep anyway. Tony just told me that the temp now is 110F. Humidity is high, too. Very sticky.
Got the US insurance for my ambulance taken care of, finally. Since it's a cargo I couln't get regular car/van insurance but got business insurance through Geico. Searching craigslist for the materials I need.l If I can get them lined up I'll go to Ca. next week.
hugs, katie
Just think Marion once Kim get her specialist degree it will all be behind her..been a long road..4 months will pass quickly enough! You must be very proud of her!!!
You made me think of Barb, a SIL who passed on at 56, the nieces and nephews were terrified of her, she was as kind and loving as could be with them but when they were bad she'd say 'come here so I can lock you in the closet' never ever would she but when small they thought she would and that was enough to put them on their best behavior..my kids still laugh about it! Imagine your mom being interested in IceAge..let's hope it comes out soon and you can get a copy to her..how has she been doing these past couple of weeks since you've been home?
Katie, never even thought that you would need special insurance for your vehicle?? hmmm do you need both USA and Mexico insurances?? How does one survive in 110 + humidity...can you go to the waterfront?? would that help??
Marion, your Mom has good taste! I just love Scrat & his acorn dilemma, so cute and my favorite!
When I was in Florida we were back in school the first week of August so understand that....up here it is the first day after Labor day usually. AND in school until around June 22 or so.
Well this degree will be behind her...taking a break before going for the Ed D. To much with teaching a full day (no planning period) and classes.
Kim doesn't threaten them....mostly they haven't gotten her attention yet and then you hear "Aunt Kim"! Like cold water being thrown on her. LOL
Debbie, I too, hope it comes out so she can see it. She loves Scrat and his acron.....this came as a surprise to me as she rarely will watch any movies. Little did I know.
As to Mom's condition. She continues about the same.....mind is getting a little confused now but for most days she is sharp. Has started watching a little television so that does make her day a little more enjoyable. My sister goes every other day to see her, takes home cooked food for her "afternoon snack" if you can call it a snack. It usually is a full meal..got it's good side, my sister is finally learning how to cook. LOL
It is a 90 mile round trip to and from the nursing home to my sister's house so daily gets very expensive....besides my sister does have her own place to take care of.
Our schools start here second week of August and run through third week of May. Grandson starts college Aug 20th....he is excited that he gets an extra week off...grin
i wanted to see the second Ice Age when it came out...GS and DH weren't interested, so went to a morning showing....less than a quarter through the movie i had a little one crawl up in my lap to "watch" the movie....she fell asleep in just a few minutes....her Mom kept apologizing, but it was fine with me....I miss my little Grandsons, so holding a little one was quite nice.
Katie....hard i know, but hope you are keeping your cool...we are getting thunderstorms every day...sometimes rain, sometimes not.
Good thoughts to you all
My Aussie babies
I'm ooo'ing and aaah'ing at your grandchildren Jean..thank goodness for skype right...wasn't that the cuttest, having someone's child take to you..she must have sensed your kindness!!!
to
Marion that is quite a distance to travel, not sure why I thought your sister lived in the same town. At the price of gas lordy you'd be broke before months end.
Birdies are chirping like crazy, nice to hear
it sooo feels like a fall day here
oops wind came up as soon as JEFF left with his kayak, that is not good news being out on Georgian Bay.
still in my jammies, been busy this afternoon, another 15 minutes and off to get dressed and into town
Glad to hear you had a good visit with the girls Marion! We buy a lot of the kids movies for when the Grandkids come to visit! Todd likes them too! Especially cars.
Thanks Betty. That is Aidan, the older and Ethan. They are a delight. I think little kids can sort of recognize a "Grandma" type when they see it. I smiled and said hello when she sat down there with her Mom and her two brothers....Mom stayed pretty busy keeping the boys in check during the long preview so the little one asked me to hold her drink and other things...before climbing up in my lap.....grin
I think that is a real compliment!! They children and animals are great judges of people.
Waving to all... been a long week. How precious Jean for that to happen :o)
Evening all, just got n from the gathering..
There were 26 of us for Marg's 65th..got to tell you restaurant was a tad disorganized for knowing there would be large crowd. I was one of the first to order, chicken and ribs, didn't eat all day wanting to do justice to my meal..as the plates kept coming out I waited for mine, more came out waited for mine, in the meantime most had eaten by the time the others were getting their meal..manager knew service wasn't up to par, so brought some finger foods for us..not wanting to spoil my meal i didnt indulge. half the meals were cold, steak under oomed, pasta overcooked. Still I waited for my meal, kept watching them in out, in out, then desert came out and still no meal for me..by this time they were serving coffee i realized my meal was not being prepared, finally a waitress asked if i enjoyed my meal? What meal, by now i said forget it...Suzanne had made arrangements and brought in a slab of cake so i had a big piece Lol
Tired so off to bed I go
Waving night night
OMG Betty - just no excuse for horrible service like that....
No there isn't, but I am glad you are home to rest now.
Mary, how has your week been?
Hey Deb;
would have to be a Dmail to fill you in.... Such a crazy week at work... I'm so tired. Tired of working as hard as I do with no reward. I wish I had my own business.
Left my last client at 5:30pm tonight to head home... commission is SO LOW for this sale... it's not worth it for me... (Probably $200 and I have put 20+ hours into this project)
How is Shane? what are you up to ? ((HUGS)) so tired... over and out... LOL
Mary
Mary, sorry you've had such a bad week! When do you leave for the reunion, that ought to cheer you up..mid week right?
Morning,
At dealership having a 'timmies'
They were going to do my first oil chance but instead will check levels and few other things and I will either get oil change while on way way back in the USA or wait till I get back. Originally they said better under than over but yikes, only have 2140 kl.
You have been working your butt off Judy, what a transformation!! Weekend time, time for a bud. Lol
Drats, Ann going through really rough time, dropped in to see her, she's not going tomorrow...sigh. Cathy, not sure what she is going through, her mom says you just can't live with her..I bought 4 tickets for the breakfast at Elvis competition, now 2 left...Darlene, she's coming but depends on how she is feeling when she gets up in the am soooo I just may be going alone..wish you all lived closer
Joyce, thinking of the ooohs and ahhh's that you will have when those coming for the tour arrived..
Off to cut grass
Morning everyone! Betty, so sorry you had lousy service at the party!
Mary, sorry your week was not good. No that is not much for all the work you do! Hope it gets better soon! Buy that lucky lottery ticket, then you can have your own business!
Judy, is that the work your doing? Goodness, you have big area's to work on!
We went out for dinner last night, and stopped at the dealership to just window shop. We really like the GMC sierra trucks! So we will go back for a test drive today, and hopefully we will have our settlement by Wed. or Thursday?
