Yes, for those of you on FB, you saw this...but those of you who are NOT on FB , I got to spend some time with baby Adam. ^_^
I even got a grin. I tried to pick up his right hand and kiss it ahd he pulled away. His father told me that the hospital always uses his right hand to draw blood or insert a I.V. so he instinctively pulls away now. I looked him straight in the eys and tolld him GG would never pick his hand only kiss it. I then proceeded to kiss it 50 - 100 times(had chap lips) which prompted the grin. When I stopped, he raised his right hand to me. ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

What inspiring photos...lucky you to have been able to spend time with Adam....just want to hug & smooch that little guy....

Tears of joy as I read this to Jeff. What a trooper!!! GG kisses are the best. I could eat him up.

Going to Annapolis today so DGD, Hope, can play with her cousins. Hard to believe we will be heading out on Monday for the month.

Jeff was able to get the roof done except for the peak. I'll take pics later. I love the color.

Jan, i hope you have a wonderful trip! It looks like we might be copycatting you. I am waiting for my FL doc to call to say it will be ok for me to take a driving trip out west the whole month of September. I really want to give it a try and Hank is so wanting to do it too. We'll see how it goes with the grandies here for a bit more than a week. That should be a good test of energy! Lol

I see many people with these bumper guard products and will probably get one. Anyone have?? So dumb that they went away from the old chrome or rubber to the painted ones. I swear the auto body shops are behind it!

My first 4x4 was a Jeep C-J.....Doug put a big wooden bumper on the back which he painted white & on which I painted pictures of Snoopy & Woodstock....Good news about the suspensions...kids are out of control.....Louise, trip sounds awesome, hope the doc says OK....

Feeling a little nostalgia this morning....youngest DD turns 30 tomorrow!!!

Meant to say we don't have any plans on the 4th because it's mid-week but have friends & family coming from out of state on the 6th. We do a big picnic BBQ party on the 4th normally.....this year it will be on the 7th as it's a Sat.
We cook outside...steamed lobsters, grilled spicy shrimp on skews, N.Y. Strip steaks, carribean jerk chicken breast, corn on the cob. Then 3 different salads, strawberry dream pie, scotcheroo's, deviled eggs, chip & dips, watermelon and so on.
We have a horse shoe pit, batmitten, pools for the little ones, silly string, water balloons and water guns and of course some fireworks. ^_^

And what time should we arrive??? :)

Lobster - I will bring the whole crew.

Thank you, Jan...I hope so too. You know better than most how it is to be on the road living out of a suitcase for a whole month! I've never done any trip driving that long and that far. I don't have a good way to judge it really, in terms of the stamina required. Our dogs are great travelers and Hank and I really enjoy sharing these adventures, but a whole month is a rather big test of marital harmony! LOL

Allison, how are you doing? Much pain? Mobility difficult? Randy being a Prince? Been thinking of you a lot today. I was enjoying the lovely sound of the wind chime you gave me as I was watering near it. I miss seeing all of you guys this summer.

We're getting the place kid-proofed and ready for our Colorado grandkids. Hank and I will get to have them to ourselves for several lumps of time. Can't wait....they are so much fun. Hank carved DGD her own walking stick, and I convinced him - very much against his will - to paint her name pink and the other trim purple...her favorite colors. After he did it, he said it really looks like her! :). She is one cute kid. She'll turn 4 this month.

so glad you liked it Louise.. wind chimes make me happy.. always have a couple around.. yes Randy has been a prince watering my containers for me.. and serving me most of the time.. I did get that walking boot.. much easier to deal with now.. no crutches.. it's huge and heavy.. but I would rather deal with this.. I had a hard time sleeping last night.. funny after the swelling goes down the pain always seems to get worse.. for me.. just couldn't get comfortable .. tried a pillow .. a comforter folded up.. nothing was working.. hope it's better tonight though.. when I am awake I don't pay it any mind.. so used to doing stuff like this I just deal with it.. had worse ones too.. so I am glad I went for the x-ray.. I didn't think it was going to be anything but a sprain.. I almost blew it off.. glad I didn't.. for once my stubborn side didn't win

but when I ripped all my ligaments / tendons .. and had blood between my cartilage.. yeah that was WAY worse than this.. that was waking up screaming in pain... pain.. had to do whirlpool baths (bucket with the removable shower head sideways.. hope I don't offend anyone but I called it a "polish whirlpool".. my mother smacked me every time I said it.. LOL) to break up the blood in there.. and just putting my foot in the bucket was painful .. the deep breathing pain where the tears just fly... wish that on NO ONE!!

btw I just wanted to slap him when I came down from the bathroom and he was in the kitchen.. and made the light sabor sound from star wars.. with this stupid boot.. LOL

Yeah, try to keep it elevated when sleeping. Take pain meds right before sleep too.

Oh, boy, Allison, I can't imagine that kind of pain. Must have been awful. I hope you can get comfortable in bed soon. I know when you're awake you have your mind on other things besides the pain, so you don't notice it so much.

Celeste, I'm coming to your house on the 7th, right after my plant sale. LOL!

I'm preparing for a yard sale on the 7th and 8th (and maybe another weekend too, since it seems I have way too much stuff to sell). I have A LOT of gardening tools and supplies if anyone is interested... although I think you all are more than an hour away. : (
