Hi Everyone, I'm home safe and sound except for the last of a nasty head cold that I've had for a week - slowed down my trip home. Everything is fine here; all five dogs competing to see who could show me they missed me the most. Had my first face to face meeting with a DGer and it was great.
More when I'm better and less tired. Big prayers for all.
hugs, kati
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?? Visit with friends..
Suse, sending lots of prayers your way!
Oh Katie, welcome home..you didn't have surgery though did you? Grand to meet DG'ers...
Welcome home, Katie!!
Did you have your surgery?
Betty I'm hanging in with all there is to hang in with. I usually don't yell but last night he got me yelling, it's so unreal, can't even go into my own house without a screaming match happening. I don't know why he's all mad other than the fact the money is gone, when the money ran out so did he and he's trying to take whatever I have left that was never his to begin with, it was my grandparents. Great person ain't he?
Katie so glad you made it home!
Crissy, it is my understanding that inheritance is NOT subject to community property. What doe your attorney say?
Katie, glad you are home safe. Sorry you are feeling poorly...summer colds are a real PIA.
It's community property because I bought the house after we were married.
oh durn!! Community property can be Such a PIA too.............
I have news:
Well, I am Employed........... (VBGrin!!)
I got a call yesterday from 2 agencies - one wanted to give me a 4 month position which, when ended would give me a bonus of $2/hr upon completion of the assignment (about $800) and a chance at a perm position with the company.
The other agency wanted to meet me at 2pm today - no actual position in mind.
I called the 2nd agency and cancelled our app't because I start at the first one on Friday!! (the agency is Also called "Friday" lol)
The company I will be working at is UFA (United Farmer's Association).
I'm rather excited!

Crissy, sure is time regardless of what the outcome is to put an end to this relationship, has to be toxic for both of you..will be a hard sell then won't it that the $$$ that bought your house was from community property?? Know you've been smart and kept documentation, let's hope that's all you need..likely you also have documentation on how you supported him while he was OFF work...drats to the man!!! Sure hope the judge sees sense..think sometimes it's just WHO has the better lawyer!
OK Susan, when is the first paycheck lol
Good for you..do you start fresh on Monday??
Jean, storm missed you but are you getting any rain??
I start on Friday. I think I get paid every Thursday or Friday, so I will get a one-day pay next week as I will send in my timesheet at the end of the day Friday.
Wonderful..exciting news for sure!
yuppers!!
Susan, that is great news on the job! Congrats!
Crissy, here in Texas, if you can prove you had said properties before you married, that does not become community property, only what you guys bought together as a couple.
Betty this will never go to a judge if we can agree, which I have, if Dave buys me out he'll keep the house and I'll leave with $80,000 and buy something I can maintain myself. If we can't agree we'll have to sell it, which I hope we don't, but if so we will split whatever amount it sold for. I've already had it appraised and it's gained $2,000 profit, bought it for $144,000 and it's now worth $146,000.
I've already mentally moved on (plan for the worst and hope for the best) he's the one who keeps hanging on to material stuff, he's all about himself, how much money can he take from someone who has done nothing but strive to make him and myself better people. I've never met such an ill souled person in my entire life.
LK I didn't have this property before we got married, we got married in April 2006, I bought the house October of 2007.
YEAHOOOOOO Susan!!!
Thanks Crissy!
He's really being a male version of a *&)^%, isn't he?!
Sure hope it all works out for you! When do you go to court?
The court date is July 20th but I don't think we'll have to go, we're very close on settling. It's just a preliminary court date anyway, so it wouldn't be finalized then. I don't have a final court date yet.
Congratulations Susan. I hope this company becomes a permanent place of employment for you.
So happy for you Susan. It will feel good to you to be working again. Hope this one lasts and lasts and lasts.
I want this job to last until I retire, at a date of MY choosing lol
Crissy - I hope he settles down and allows a mutual settlement. It's no fun letting things drag out.......
crissy - remember Lorraine Bobbit? Maybe you could print out some articles and leave them not-too-well-hidden around the house. Research George Hayduke.
God i am tired.
kb
roflmfao!! KATIE!!! What are you advocating?!?!?! LOL
I am with Katie on this one! (and welcome home). I told my Ex husband "I can make Loreena Bobbit look like Princess Di....so back off"
Go Katie...Go Katie....lol
Susan, fingers and toes crossed.....sit and be nice and shake your head yes to everything until you get the job permanently!
Get supplies: a knife sharpener and a magnifiying glass.
ROFLMBO....now I have to wipe up the water off my keyboard.
I'm so laughing and boy did I need a laugh..what a night I've had, just came in, shaking my head..not only is Greg like his dad but I think he's got a bit of his mom as well. Lol
Picked up groceries, want to leave the meats and veggies till Thursday morning..put groceries away, saw that the fire pit was filled with ashes, why not get rid of them, so changed not grubs and off I went..
When I set up the pond a few months ago I changed the head to the water feature, I liked it but others said they likes the spray better sooo tonight I decide it's but a 10 minute job, just have to get in water up to my ankles, nope slid in..then the main attachment came off, think it was broken iPad I didn't realize it, now I'm working myself not a tizzy, tried to connect it , I'm waist deep, got to climb out to plug the pump, falls off, did it about 8 times, started to use some not so pretty words..who comes, Noah, Kyle and Greg..get the what for dor being in the pond on my own..Greg has a miss upon, tries to help me but it's getting late and he wanted to take the wrap of the Foxy Lady..I said the other day that if nobody was going to use it I'd put a for sale sign on her...sooo tonight he decides to take the shrink wrap off, wash her, out the night cover on her, come tomorrow night, put her on the trailer then bottom end goes on..he could have waited for another week or so but no he wanted to do it so if all goes well she'll be in the water Saturday..
So now the frame that hold the shrink wrap which has to be dismantled and stored so she can be used this fall needs a home, again behind my shed seems to be the place..I'm not happy about that but what to heck..shrink wrap he takes with him..
Now off he goes, several trips to put the frame behind the shed, going on and on that I need to cut some branches, doesn't like them overhanging...well I do, I take my time, don't ripush and don't get the branches in the eye, besides I'm 5' not 6'2", nope not cutting them, like the shade and privacy they create.
By now I've just about had it, going to garden center and buying new pump, not cheap..sit in the pond and think , I smell like swamp by now..into the house, wet as can be, get wire, back waist deep into water and do a Mrs. fix It job..works, hopefully it will last till fall and I'll see if new parts can be ordered.
In for a hot bath..by now the boys are ready to leave, Noah comes to give me the biggest kiss and hug, an I love you grandma..then I realize he's leaving tomorrow for the summer..I start to cry...says I promise grandma I'll call you every Saturday night, promise!! Told him no promises, why not call me during the day when I'm at work, toll free number..
Caleb and Braedon leave Friday for North of Algonquin Park, they are 7 weeks at camp, 6 of the weeks is canoe and outdoor trek, hellicopter drops their food off once a week.. Going to miss them in,,Kyle's working in the area so guess its he who will have to look after grandma.
I pick up my new car tomorrow, he's anxious to drive it , might be the pull card for him to visit often. Lol
So that's my night...
Katie, you are being so bad. Lol. You have to know our Debbie and Crissy, they are strong women and just might take your advise..
Off the bed..gab in the am
OMG KATIE ! Magnifying Glass ! OMG... you've got me LOL.....
got the knife thing.....took me a minute on the other. Don'tcha love how the furries are SO happy to see you even if you've only been gone a minute ? how did everything go on your trip?
Susan - HURRAH HURRAH! Good going girl! Congratulations!
BARB how did PT go ? Still saying a prayer for your DS and his family....
LK - we were up to 105 today. What I hate are the stories of ppl leaving pets/kids in the car. I almost can't read the news lately... so horrible. how are your plants holding up? We are watering every day.
Suse what wonderful memories of Niagara...you are all making me want to go.... Prayers for your dear Uncle.
Know I'll be with ya'll in spirit...but just not the same. Hubs wants me to go to Spokane WA in July but I'm gonna have to tell him I just can't.
10 days vaca per year. Used 4 1/2 already. Using 1 1/2 for Family reunion. Can't blow all the rest in one month, what if something happens?
Betty - Yes I suppose short posts lately ...still recovering from the trip, then last Saturday. OMG... Roger must have been 9 feet tall with your short self to have Greg and Kyle... they look like they are 7' tall !
I'm a shorty too and DS20 reminds me all the time that is *why* he is so short (5'9")
BEAUTIFUL Family Betty though and I love that picture....
HUGS Dianne...think of you all the time.
Shirley too...
I'll check in ....
in a bit
Mary
Oh Betty, sure hope you did not hurt yourself in the pond?
Mary, we were at 109 today, still 100 at 9:23pm. 108 tomorrow, and 106 for Wed. I have to water in the morning and at night. So far plants are doing good. I have only lost one angel trumpet, and I can't figure out why it jut shriveled up? But not bad. My morning glory tree is about 12 foot tall and has pretty white blooms.
LK - Very happy to see the Morning Glory Tree as that is one I got from a swap... killed but didn't kill then brought back to life. then planted.... nice to see the flowers it makes...
It is quite drought tolerant... planted now in the front yard and we'll see what it does...think it's about to bloom.....amazing how it looks like a plant that should need water but it really doesnt.....
With this weather we are getting as dry as Texas !
Betty - with all the slipping, sliding and falling, I'm surprised you didn't hurt yourself, but it sure sounds like you were just spittin' mad at being told how to prune your yard lol You, girl, should have the yard to Suit You, and that's just the way That story is lol
LK - YIKES on the temps!! But what a beautiful tree! I'd never heard of a Morning Glory tree before.....
Katie - I'd say tsk tsk tsk, but I don't think it would make a bit of difference ROFL!!! (cuz I'm as bad as you are, sooooo guess we're "birds of a ......... sharp knife"?? LOL
Mary - good to see you posting, even though short posts they're Always welcome!
Thanks for all the well-wishes and congrats re: my job - I'm tickled about it!
Shirley - where are you....................
Mary, did you send me a cutting of the morning glory tree? I got it last summer, and I can't for the life of me remember who from? I have heard it also comes in pink and lavender blooms. I would love to have one of each!
Best - sold $355 worth of Nami's stuff
Even Better - The fellow who bought the sectional wants to bring his father tomorrow to buy stuff because he's "setting up his own place" and the father needs all sorts of stuff. I know the son is coming back, cuz he paid for the sectional, and only got to take home 1 of the 3 pieces. He brought an SUV and figured to take it in 2 trips.......HA! He couldn't fit the 2nd and 3rd pieces in so he's left them at the Church and will return tomorrow with a larger vehicle.
Better Still - got a job today, starting Friday lol
Worst? Well, I'm a little stiff and sore from moving furniture. Before Bob got off work I went to the Church to move stuff around so we could get the Sectional - wouldn't you know it was at the back, with everything piled around and on it?! BUT I don't think it qualifies as worst, cuz it means I exercised, and I get to put the amount on myfitnesspal.com so it counter balances any "bad" or "extra" food I ate........... like the beer I'm having now LOL
morning all
today is the Day, Sistah's Gathering 2012 begins!!!
It's a sunshine day in the neighborhood, will post when I get to work, on the run, have to go to car wash, get car washed and vacuumed, can't give the car back to the dealership dirty...been such a good car for me..that and watering/deadheading the hanging baskets will take up what time I gphave left before work starts
Gab in a bit!!
Make sure you give everyone hugs from us Betty! And we would love to see pics of your new car too!
LindaKay, think we'll get some of that humidity you have, you didn't by any chance send it my way?
Texans will feel right at home lol
Still laughing at katie's posts..
Crissy, sure hoping that all this can come to an end..if he buys you out will you look for accommodations closer to work or still in the country?
Susan, looks like you have everything under control, sale of furniture, new job, now only if the Municipality would call and say they will pay for all the repairs..things come in 3's!
Mary, do you have an extra sick day set aside??? you know you'll be sick if we cannot meet up so might as well plan for it now lol that's the only thing with working, want time off but want $$$ as well, should find a happy medium.
I really should have book this afternoon off but wasn't anything to do so saving that 1/2 day for trip
I have to figure out what the City will do if I'm working on Tues/Wed when they said the fellow was coming by to give an estimate on jacking the mobile up........... he doesn't want to just give an estimate. Because he's from out of town, he wants to do the work at the same time........ I don't know if I would have to be here when it's done.
If someone has to be here, I'll see if a neighbour can come in.........
am sure you will figure something out..
here I am, not a call this morning, I'm restless!!! Morning is moving much too slowly..
yikes, must have used muscles in my behind cheekbones and hips..sore as can be lol
what are you all doing today?
I'm heading out to the Bottle Depot to return recyclables, then over to the Church to water plants when I help get sold stuff out, and tonight someone's coming to buy the Patio Set!
Otherwise, my day's pretty boring lol
