Best/Worse/What did I learn today?? Visit with friends..
Morning, I'm first!
Betty, no worries...my cousin does it all the time flying into Buffalo and drives to Canada for meetings.
That makes me feel better, wonder if you have to let them know prior to arrival?? waiting to hear from B.J.
You must be getting some of this same weather? in the house, feet up and rest!
Usually they ask where you will be going or staying, and the include all the right paperwork. With us being so close to the border around here, I would say all rental agencies are up to date with that.
It said with humidity and heat index....we will have a 100 degrees real feel temperature. It was 74 outside when I got up at 7:00, haven't looked lately but the dog didn't lay outside as usual, wanted right back in. She is all black...so heat really hits her.
OHHH Betty, guess what? SEVEN more days!
Thanks for the new room Betty! Bet your getting so excited to see everyone! I told Judy last night she better hug everyone for me too!
I am excited, more than excited..then a bit apprehensive because I so want everyone to have a great time and trying to think of all the what if's lol I'm sure you would all be in same dither if it was your turn to host!
I've given up on the gardens, what will be in bloom will be in bloom, even if it's just one flower to welcome everyone..
Calling for rain on the Friday, still time to change the forecast..only thing I have to do is vacuum, wash the bedding in the bed Noah ysed last night, cut grass and put my feet up.
Was talking to Larry (car dealership), he told me the car hitch was now on the car, something else for them to do, for me it's clean the car before turning it in so that will be my weekend 'to do' this weekend.
Felt sick to my stomach this morning, little 2 year old drowned in neighbors pond yesterday, owner of the land with pond was charged, not sure if it's manslaughter..yikes.. neighbor next to me has fencing around the property and has a grandaughter there a lot, she's 3 1/2, the small pond I have is about 2' deep, the large one over 4' deep so I will empty it a bit until I find out rules/regulations in my area..sure would hate to fence in my yard.
So sorry to hear that! Here in Texas, if you have a pool, your yard must be fenced in, if something happens, even though that person is trespassing, you are liable for any injuries.
ponds can be as dangerous!!! only child is next door and fenced in but now I worry!!!
Betty, maybe you can just put a fence around the ponds if need be?
That's sad, Betty I don't blame you for not wanting to put up a fence, they should keep the 3 1/2 year old in their yard, if they can't they shouldn't have a child, just my opinion lol Ponds are everywhere here, if you live in the country and have more than an acre you have a pond, and no it's not fenced and neither is your property and we never hear of kids drowning in them, kids stay away from them because they usually contain snakes.
I'm panicking, there are sooo many ponds in the area and no neighborhood kiddies am sure I'm ok..just the shock that it could happen..lordy it is one hot day out there..
A few months ago i ordered a dragonfly in metal art, was when I picked up my flying geese, he called to say it was in so walked across the street to get it and there was no air to take in, can't imagine how you all do it
Nice to see you post Crissy, you've been on my mind..you doing ok? How's work, busy/busy...
Mary, how's the witch these days?
Here all swimming pools require a "child-proof" fence...the neighbor is most likely going to be charged with Negligence. In our neighborhood almost every house has a pool or a pond...and some of the ponds are an acre or more in size....no law I can find about ponds here, but big time safety regs for pools.
We have the childproof fence for pools required here also....or if an above ground pool, the ladder has to fold up and lock into position if it has that type of access. BUT...the neighbors next door....her granddaughter is now 5...but she scales that chainlink before her parents get the gate on locked. They have a floating sensor that goes in the pool now....sets of a loud alarm if something or someone falls in.
It is only 88 here...but a "feels like" with the humidity is up to 97 at least check.
Shane and I went out and worked under the shade tree for a bit and got some weeding done.
Mary that's the way it is here too, ponds are everywhere and like Debbie says pools have to be fenced or the ladder has to fold up and lock.
Betty don't worry yourself sick over the "what if" factor, you can worry yourself to the grave doing that. I'm slammed with divorce and work crap still BLAH!!!!!
Thanks for the info girls..
Won't be doing much when I get home, likely not even cook din/din
Another part of a month and then you are in court Crissy and hopefully you can then have a clear head knowing the outcome..not knowing has to be sooo stressful.
Is Dave behaving while living in the same house..I'm so hoping he's not gabbing to you about all the women falling at his feet..doubtful they will be doing that when he's homeless..feel so bad for you
I'm soooo jealous!!!
I want to go to Betty's!!!
☺
☺
I'll be thinking about everyone! I know y'all are going to have a wonderful time. I want each of you to do me a big favor ...
Everyone that goes *must give Dianne a big hug for me!!
Thank you!
Now Betty ... If you don't take care of yourself, you'll not be in shape for all this ... LOL
Mary, so glad your MIL is getting along well ...
Crissy ... {{{ }}}. I asked Debbie to send you the 2X4 to wack Dave with. It might not help but should make you feel better! LOL
So glad to see you're doing better Liz and yea on the first week down with the no smoking. That's awesome! ☺
To everyone riding bikes ... we use to ride tandom before we started driving. Great exercise! Moses keeps me fit now. It's not the same, but I do get some exercise. LOL
Speaking of Moses ... he's happy right now. He has a new truck. We just bought a 2008 Nissan Frontier. It only has 26,000 miles on it. Very pretty!
Okay, will try to check in more often. I lost a very good friend on June 4th and haven't been on the computer as much the past couple of months.
I'm so sorry for your loss Suze. I must have missed some posts...
Always makes me smile when I see you post Suse!! Poor Dianne, she will be black and blue from all the hugs we've been asked to give her.lol
Really does hit you hard when you lose a friend, most times it's like losing a sister isn't it?
26,000 miles, not even broken in. Nissan Frontier, will have to google, don't recall that make..does that mean Moses gets to ride in the back?
Too hot to be outside right now! Have a visitor and a friend of the visitor here watching Auction Hunters..he has decided to spend the night again..love it but means I either have to cook or have him go next door for something to eat. Think the restaurant idea will be my choice. Lol
Put my gragonfly (thinking of you Bev) in the garden, not rusty yet, will spray it with water, imagine in this humidity won't take long to rust..
How are you doing Barb, is this heat making it difficult breathing?
Sorry about your friend Suze, sending you big ((((((((HUGS))))))))
Betty, post that dragonfly when you get the chance?
When the temps get this high, Betty, I don't leave the house. We are on heat advisories here. I have rehab tomorrow which means I must go out but it will be early in the am. I just need to remember to put the windows down when I get in the car and give the AC time to crank up when I leave rehab. That's around 1pm and it will be very hot. Then it is straight home. This heat just saps every bit of energy right out of me so I do try to be extra careful....
Just got finished eating banquet burger/fries with Noah..Greg and Kyle dropped in to see if he wanted to go to the movies and supper but Noah decided to stay with me. While at the restaurant the owner asked if Noah was my grandchild, oh oh should I say yes? Did and got told that he is the nicest and most polite young man she has ever had in her restaurant, said I should be proud..while walking out I asked him what he thought about hearing how nice the grandchild was, said he didn't know, didn't have grandchildren. Lol. Brat he is
He is out long boarding so guess I will have to stay up until he comes in
Barb, hopefully the heat advisory will only be for next few days..calling for rain and thunderstorms for tomorrow in my area..does the a/c in the house not bother you? Are you feeling yourself get stronger as the rehabilitation process continues?
Hello to all !
Betty - the witch has been much easier for me to handle since I don't really care about the place ( I suppose this attitude may have to change at some point). She was called to the carpet for giving my friend (the newer employee) a hard time... my friend has been in the business for longer than me... she had her husband come in and they spoke to the GM!
Meanwhile a new manager is going to be in place... I think we meet him tomorrow. Hmmm....
Suze so so sorry about your friend.
I lost a friend while on vacation. Mike was my first broadcast sales manager. At my last job... we were Cubicle neighbors...I left to go to TV and he left to open a Catholic Radio Station... seemed so happy when I saw him at the LSU Garden show...but he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and this is the same that took Mom. He passed and the funeral while we were in Orlando.
You just never know how life is going to be with it's twists and turns...
Betty I'm so proud of Noah... your DGK's are so wonderful and mannerly...
A joke was made at one of the comedy shows on vacation... about folks who were nice and had good manners and they said "They must be from Canada"... I'll have to try to remember the skit....Ya'll should know the #1 restaurant at EPCOT with the MOST demand is Le Cellier which is the Canadian Restaurant. The Cheddar Cheese soup and Filet Mignon is out of this world good.....
(HUGS) Dianne.. you are often with me dear...
Deb - I think of you when I look at my variagated cannas... will get them to you soon.
Hugs to all,
Mary
Mary, sorry to hear about Mike! You spoke with him soon after he was diagnosed did you not? I seem to recall you mentioning it.Cancer, taken many a loved one!
The Canadian 3d show was enjoyable as was the restaurant but I think my favorite was China, what an experience it would be to visit same places as in the film.
Wide awake, waiting for morning
Morning everyone!
Marry, so sorry to hear about your friend!
Betty, your up early!
Not up early, was just trying to count sheep, woke up and couldn't sleep!
Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Liz, Happy birthday to you...ok so it was off key, but I sure do wish you a sunshine day!!
By now you are probably going off the wall re no smoking..have they given you something to help the process??
Suse I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend, I missed that somehow yesterday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZ!!!! I hope you're feeling much better and hope you have the most wonderful day ever!!
Oh Mary I'm so sorry to hear of your friend too!! Pancreatic Cancer is the hardest cancer to get rid of, 99% of people who get it pass away, or at least these were the numbers when my 94 year old grandmother passed from it in 2003.
Betty congrats to Noah, that's always awesome hearing something like that! LOL on his answer! Good grief awake at 3am YIKES
Oh Crissy, you are a young one, wait until you get another decade or two under your belt and you'll be seeing many a 2 and 3 a.m. 's lol
LOL!!!
Crissy does see many a 2:00 or 3:00 a.m....its when she is getting home from a night out with friends! lol
LOL Debbie!!!! I haven't had one of those nights since Dave said he wanted a divorce!
Crissy, when do you go to court, and get it all over with?
Maybe Crissy it's time you have one of those..
How are you doing Debbie, swelling going down any?? imagine like Barb this weather plays havoc with you.
Paul's gout, is he any better?
Dianne, how did the dentist appt. go???
Paul is doing fine as of right now. I had my eye appointment this morning and a new left lens needed again.
Also, trying to get in the dentist as having an issue, have to call back first thing in the morning.
Hot as anything but not much else going on.
Suse & Mary - both of you losing friends......... so sorry to hear of it (((((((hugs)))))))) to both of you.
Betty - I don't know about here, but in Winnipeg everyone with a pool has to have a 6' fence around it. I know community pools do too, but once a group of teens climbed the fence at 1am and was diving (very loudly I might add) and was reported cuz everyone in the neighbourhood could hear the "small" party going on while the group whooped and hollered!
Crissy - looking forward to hearing you tell us that it's all over with, and you came out victorious!
Liz - Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday!!!
