Bless your heart, Susan. You'd be the perfect ambassador for your church and God!! You're so right, first visits shouldn't have a time limit.
I know that lady was thanking God for sending you.
Thoughts and prayers go out to Carol's family. Sorry, but I had never interacted with her.
۞Sweet Interruptions # 242۞
Cindy, those look so good!
Jaye, will add Harris to my daily prayers!
Jaye - gonna call you......
oooops - line busy.

Popping in to say HI !!!
Don is hanging sheetrock in the (new & improved) craft room. I'm keeping the streets hot going back and forth to the store... why can't I remember everything in one trip? LOL... or remember to pick up my list before I leave. Two trips already, and still didn't get everything... the rest can just wait... enough already.
Pork Chops with Pesto tonight for supper... Thanks Jaye, my mouth has been watering for that ever since you brought it up... can't wait.
Best get busy now before Don catches me sitting on my butt, with all I keep telling him that needs to be done... sheesh... just not enough hours in a day.
I'll find a lounge chair just for you B.J that way you can reenergize before heading home..
It's been a hot one today..feel like I'm in the south! Don't know as I said before how you all survive your heats
Had intentions of returning to DG yesterday, after visiting FB, but had issues with the 'net.
Just got it back to normal this a.m. Drats, and last night I 'volunteer' to stay awake till 6 this morning so Kel won't miss his class :(
So no pc.. but.. it's a blessing.. caught up with some 'essential' reading.
Sorry Susan, my line is constantly busy!! I'm such a popular girl! Lolol!!
Yesterday, between my sister and my ex, the line's tied up.
LK, I appreciate the prayers.
BJ, I also slap pesto on toasts! Definitely, I won't starve in this house as I'll try anything.
Betty, at least you have lots of shade trees. If not for the heavy insulation, think I'll be roasted in this house. The a/c is constantly on, thank God, gas is now $3.06 a gallon, so the electricity cost would be tolerable.
May today be one fantastic day for you sistahs. It's cold cereal with your choice of regular milk, soy or almond.
I just paid $3.26 and thought was good for gasoline!
Hope you get some rest today Jaye!
Morning...
Dropping in to wish our Liz a Happy Birthday!!!
Bargain prices for sure, here it's $4.63 after our conversion is done. Sure hoping low mileage estimate they've given me on the car I just bought is as good as they say..can only hope!
High humidity and in low 90's today..I've been keeping an eye on weather forecast for next weekend..sure hope it changes...
Don't know if I've ever tasted pesto??
Happy B/D Liz!
Awwww, pretty bougainvilla!
♫Happy ♪ Birthday ♫ Liz ♪
Good Morning Ladies,
Had another relaxing day of gardening at my friends and swimming too ^_^. She wants to make the pool area look like an extended room, has 3 HUGE planters with Spider Plants OMG they are BEAUTIFUL,. it is amazing how the tolerate the late afternoon sun. I guess being so close to the pool they get lots of moisture, plus several other plants sitting all around. I have no idea what an extended room is suppose to look like, hmmmmm??? Guess I'll "research" the net for ideas.
The first time I went up there, as we were driving along she pointed out the Spillway from Lake Oroville. My first time seeing it I was awed!!! The water comes out so fast it looks like a giant hillside with snow. So yesterday I stopped and took pictures and a video, it is really something boy!!!!
Also took a picture of her deck where I have been planting flowers in pots, and a view of Lake Oroville from that deck.
Poor Taylor is having a rough time, took some pains meds and just puked it right back up, so now she is afraid to eat or drink anything. Cristina has gotten her to sip on water. Sure hope she has a better day today.
Going to be working in my back yard today, taking down the hot house, turning the hay bales over and transplanting strawberries, I've got tons of runners. Also going to work on turning an old dresser into a planting bench, saw the idea on pinterest.
Well the dogs are wanting to go for a walk so they can jump in the river.................
Hope YOU all have a blessed day
poor Taylor. I suppose her throat is feeling like broken glass. Is she still eating jello? That may even have to be cut up into small bits. poor girl................
Cindy, that view is so pretty! Hope Taylor is feeling better soon!
Got up as my stomach's growling. Guess what I'm having?
Nope, not pesto, but a can of sardines.. the ones in tomato sauce!! Lol!
Happy birthday Liz!!!! Thank you "Stent" for ensuring that Liz will celebrate more birthdays!
Now Betty, you got to post a pic of your new car here. Will it be giving you more than 30 miles per gallon. (Too lazy to convert to metric)
Well then sistah, we'll just have to pray that you'd have a perfect weather, just when we were at Cookie's, for your special weekend.
Cindy, I feel the joy in your words for having found a new, good friend.
Yes, I agree with LK, that view is simply awesome.
An extended room, simply means another 'living' area, where it has a purpose. You'll be good for helping her with that!
Poor Taylor. Soon she'll be over that soreness and can look forward to less infections.
When you're through with that dresser, show us please.
Well, back to bed... got to be fresh when Kel returns. Kinda strange to be expecting Kel in the daytime.
Cindy, Google "outdoor pool living spaces" and look at all the nice stuff you can help her build!
Cindy, beautiful home and view..must be a pleasure to visit and work!!! geewhiz, my settee set on back deck has the same fabric as her chairs, wish I had her view!! lol
Jaye, think it says 35 miles per gallon on highway..no photo, don't pick it up until Wedn., had to have hitch and sunroof done first
Thanks for tip LK,
I am so blessed to have met Sheri. The only family she has is her son. She lost her Mom on Father's Day 3 years ago. She just told me this morning on our biker site, (I had posted what a great day I had) that her home is mine, oohh made me tear up, lol. I thought I had a good friend, but a few months ago she had said some stuff on FB about that really hurt, plus she made me look like a fool. We had been friends for 30+ years. Then I got to thinking back just what kind of a friend she had been, when Francis was killed she never called me or came to see me. Francis and I had been friends with her and her husband for years. We did a lot of things together. Now I realized she really wasn't the friend I thought she was. Oh well her loss, lol.
yes Jaye I will post pictures before and after
Cindy - you're right, Her Loss.
Sometimes you think you have friends, but then you may be viewing them the way you want/need them to be, not their true nature.
I was reminded today about a book online called something like "the 5 languages of love". I'd taken a test, with Bob, to see which is our predominant Language. It's really how we're comfortable receiving and expressing our feelings. Not everyone is a hugger, for instance........ but I am!! lol
Betty, you can drive for hours in your new car and never have to gas up!!
Congrats gurl! What color is it? What make?
Lolol Sue. Check my addy and you'll see the name of the town I'm in. Tabacville is for security reason ;)
Sardines are even good for dogs!! Some old folks believe that will deworm them!
Cindy, I think you've come across that poem that some friends are 'seasonal'?
I try not to be, unless I'm mentally indisposed at the time when they need me the most. That I've been guilty of, and the only way I can amend that is to move forward and try to be a better friend.
Got friends who I don't talk to regularly, but when we do chat, we picked up where we last left off.
Then there are those that I'd say God is editing my rolodex!! They're the ones that are 'off-season' forever.
For every friend lost, God makes sure that you'll have a couple better ones!
You're right Susan. Our perspective of someone lies heavily on our own biased thoughts. Hence, we're always told not to judge!
Oh well, slept for a few hours. Went to the store to gather some groceries. It's so hot that even with the a/c in the truck on, by the time we get home, the meat has thawed!
Jaye - sounds to me like you need one of those insulated bags for transporting frozen (or hot) food! We have 2 - because we're often transporting stuff to the Church. One Sunday we took those little ice cream cups for a Sunday School Picnic - had to stay frozen!
I've run into the "Seasonal" friends lately. Sad when it happens, but it does happen. Hope to be making new friends.
Just lost a Calgary friend who's moving to Malaysia! She's originally from Japan, but just got engaged and her DH-to be is an American who now lives in Malaysia! He's with an Orchestra, and is now a manager of it.
She moves via plane, on Monday!! She used to be my piano/voice coach, and Bob's voice coach, until I lost my job at CLS....... she used to come to our place on Christmas and New Year's, and would play us a concert - she Is a concert pianist with the loveliest voice on earth! So pure, and delicate, while powerful at the same time. She is the sweetest loveliest young woman I know. We will be emailing back and forth, of course, but it won't be quite the same.........
Here's a picture of her - Nami and her fiance Zachary
That's a good idea, Susan, especially for areas that can hit the 3 digits!
Thanks, will look for one next month.
Where in Malaysia, Nani is moving to? Must be the capital, Kuala Lumpur.
If she ever decide to visit Singapore, a few hours drive away via causeway, I'll ask my family to show them around.
Lord will be sure to make your loss of a great friend and voice coach permanent ;)
Morning sistahs. It's not so bad out there this morning. Mosquitoes are still asleep and we're expecting temps to rise in the high 80s again.
Back to rituals. Watering the plants, get kids' vitamins prepped. feed kids and cook.
Too lazy to cook, think I'll just cheat and do my emergency Hamburger Helper! Lol.
Blueberry pancakes anyone?
Marion, you read? Blueberry pancakes dahlin' with Florida orange juice!!
Have one wonderful Friday, sistahs!
Jaye - Zachary is very familiar with Malaysia - it's his home. And being a musician that travels with the Symphony Orchestra, he's been there many times before he decided to move. I don't know if Nami had ever been there. How far is Malaysia from Japan?
5 to 6 hrs. flight to Tokyo, maybe, Susan. Malaysia borders Thailand and Singapore (hence the causeway that links the two countries) And a couple of hours boatride to Indonesia.
I'm thinking if he's in the state's orchestra, he must be living in Kuala Lumpur, the capital.
Singapore is not part of Malaysia. It's an independant c'try island!! Just offering, Susan.

There's so much to see in Malaysia. Out of the 13 states, I've only been to Selangor (where the capital is), Johor, right across from Singapore, Penang Island (BEAUTIFUL beaches) and Malacca.
Malacca has beautiful historical sites.
Regretting that I didn't visit ALL the rest when I was living in Singapore. But my sisters and brothers tried to do that!!
Would love to see the rainforests in Sarawak or Sabah.
Ahh.. wishful thinking.
I would love to see Any asian country..... it all looks so beautiful.
I will be keeping in touch with them, of course, and will pass on your (your family's!) generous offer.
Yummy ..blueberry pancakes and Florida oj. What more could one ask for? Thanks Jaye.
Worked outside most of the day yesterday and quite pleased with my progress. Must get my yard and beds finalize because 2013 will be here before we know it. Besides after 4 years in pots, the rose bushes probably prefer a more permanent place to live. With my luck they most likely will quit blooming. LOL
Cleaned up and ran some errands before meeting the GD for dinner. Of course I didn't get much attention as "Kimmie" was home!!! They are the only ones who can get away with calling her that...wonder why? I was somewhat surprised at some of the questions they asked about her trip.....scary what kids know today. Tomorrow we have a "date" with them to see Brave. Thank goodness for grandchildren as it is the perfect ruse to go see kids movies!!!! LOL
We are having the strangest weather, it is cold, cloudy and windy. Doug even got out his little heater, omg!!! He has shorts and a T-shirt on, I told him to put some sweats on and turn the heater off, because he is going to roast me out of here. I also pointed out to him that in the winter time I always wear shorts and tank tops in the house because he has to have it so HOT, so the least he could do is dress warm so that I can stay cool. It is just right in the house for me. We are suppose to go on a ride with Sheri and a friend of hers tomorrow sure hope it clears up.
I had to make another strawberry patch and transplanted the strawberries I had in the hanging planter. I have tons of runners from the ones in the tire planters. I took down my hothouse, used the hay bales that were around it, pushed them together, put 2 bags of MG garden soil, then fenced it in because of the dogs.
Here is the old dresser I am going ti turn into Potting Bench.
Marion, I want to see Brave also. I watched Cupcake Wars last week and the theme was "Brave" the winner's cupcake were displayed and eaten at the premiere. Doug and I watch a lot of animated movies. I still need to watch Madagascar, have not seen any of them.
Jaye, I've never read the poem about poem about Friends.
Ok now time to tackle the house work and pack bags for mini stay at my mom's next week
I enjoyed Madagascar and I am thinking Brave will be enjoyable also.
Looking forward to seeing Brave
Tonight's Movie Night - My One Love Song with Renee Zellwegger, Nick Nolte, and Forest Whittaker
Marion, do you feed the potted roses? You won't have no problems with blooms.
Would love one day to just sit in a theater, without Kel worrying about having to turn his cell phone off!
So.. Brave will be on my Netflix list too :(( BTW, Marion, those Japanese animation cartoons can be pretty good.
LK, are you okay sistah? You must be busy with your head board? Better that than the heat getting to you.
Cindy, it's one of those poems that I get from email.
Sheri must appreciate you very much! Wait till you share some homegrown strawberries with her.
You're a good daughter, wanting to spend time with your mum. Sob, sob... I'm like LK.. wishing our mums are around.
Well, I finished one sewing project. All hunched over the machine is killing my back. Ready to start another!! Thank God for pain killers!!
Hey Jaye, I am fine, I am in San Antonio for Dr. appointments. I saw my ortho Dr. today, and after more x rays and exam, I was told I do not not need hip or knee surgery, as the pain is coming from my back. I do have arthritis, but not bad enough for surgery he said, so I got a shot in the hip for my bursitis, and he said he hopes that works. He told me not to have more back surgery, as it may make things worse! he gave me a script for Celebrex, and told me to try that for a bit.
I will be back home tomorrow afternoon.
Good Morning Ladies,
Coffee is on and there are still some Blueberry Pancake cupcakes left.
Our high temp for today is 75, going on a ride with Sheri and her "date" going to be nice and cool.
LK, I take Celebrex, but I only need it during the winter time. During the warmer months I spend so much time outside and do a lot of walking that I don't need it. It is kind of pricy for me so I'm glad I don't need it all the time. I also try to eat a lot of foods that are good for arthritis and stay away from foods that trigger it. I hate taking pills of any kind. My whole body is filled with arthritis, my hands are the worst.
Well must get a move on need to go to store and bank before we leave, I won't have time when we get back and have to get up at 4 am.
Good Morning - heading over to our friend's to get some furniture out of her home, and tomorrow aft I'm going to clean for her - she needs it done so the landlord can come in for inspection. Printed her boarding pass & her fiance's Visa so she can travel to Malaysia! Wow - how quick is this?!?!
Anyhoooooooo cya L8tr!!
Glad you don't need knee or hip surgery, Linda. I know my left hip seems to always be aching and I know it is from my back. I got some exercises to do, but unless I make that part of my daily routine I guess I'll have to put up with the pain. When you are feeling pretty good you tend to forget about doing any exercise.
My DH has arthritis throughout his body too and he is always aching. I've been pretty fortunate not to have very much. Therapist told me to only sit at the computer 20 min. at a time then get up and walk around, but of course time goes by so fast when I'm sitting here in front of the monitor.
Susan, what a beautiful young couple! Imagine going to a foreign to start your future. Of course, her hubby-to-be lives there so it won't be foreign to him. Really sounds exciting.
LK, that's wonderful news if you don't need surgery. But on the other hand, arthritis will stay with you forever. I sincerely hope the shot will help you some, Sis.
Cindy, I'm about to ask the doctor to change my presc. to Celebrex. Been suggested by a diabetic friend that it's good for nerve damage too. Lyrica no matter the amt. isn't helping anymore.
Cindy, share what foods trigger your arthritis. For me, if I take lots of chilli pepper during the day, I find I manage to keep the arthritis at bay. Must be the heat in the foods.
Hi Pegi! It is advantageous to be senior citizens now, with all the info available at our fingertips, yet, it's too costly to invest on pain free longevity!
What wonderful news Linda. It's always a blessing when the doc says no surgery needed. Hope the meds will be able to really help with your pain issues. I'll keep you in my prayers for good results.
Went out to check on the plumeria I thought was red, and was surprised to see it was a white bloom and the underside of the bloom is red. Very pretty, will have to take a picture of it. This is the one the gal must have called "Candy".
I did mention on other threads that my pom/terrier, Molly passed away on the 21st. I spent a day crying over her. So hard to lose our beloved pets. She has now crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, a beautiful poem that was given to me by the humaine society. She was loved by everyone, such a sweetheart, but never did get over being an escape artist.
