۞Sweet Interruptions # 242۞

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

A big relief there Pegi. God certainly had sent an angel to help you out.
I am not familiar with heart valves issues, glad that LK said that's easy to fix. Still, my heart breaks when I read of wee ones suffering.
Definitely Pegi, you'll have us praying for her too.

Susan, you learn fast and soon you'll pick up oilfield engineering lingo.
We are rooting for you to get that job!

Have been sewing, yes, all hunched over the machine, not good for the back. And now my shoulders and neck are all tensed!!! Think I'll take some cassis and a muscle relaxer.

Good night sistahs, and may Friday be a dry day for me, and a happy one for you all!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, get out your heating pad, and lay on it for a bit, it will relax those muscles!

Look what I got off the curb from a neighbor! I need to clean it up, and make a foot board, and side rails, but it will be my bed of roses! Don't know if I should strip it and paint it a different color?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'd just weather proof it, LK. It will make an interesting convo piece for sure!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Pegi - yaaaay for your good news re: funding, etc! Sure is good to have someone in your corner that knows all the ins and outs of these things.
Prayers being said for the little one - it's a decent weight for her, so I'm sure the Lord will bless the family with health for the wee baby! I'm sure her mother must be distressed not being with her daughter for 4 days! But, she's in a facility for babies, and I know they'll have the Great Surgeon's hands looking after the baby.

i lost you guys ?
i will catch up later this week. crazy busy

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Coffee is ready!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks for coffee LK.
What do you drink coffee in? This is my favorite mug. I love these kind of cups that hold more than 8 oz. Whenever Dollar General has these on sale, of different patterns, I'll scoop them up!

Sue, wish we could help ease some of the madness that's going around you. Don't forget to increase your vits. as your stress increases!

Pegi, hope you have been sleeping soundly last night.

I'm still having a hard time deciding what to sew for my RWB partner! So you know she doesn't frequent here!! :D
Already got the main gift (since last year), and pack rat that I am, I can't find the extras!!!
Supposed to accompany Kel out of town this morning, maybe I'll pick up something from Lowe's. Always a good place for 'lagniappes'!

Have a fantastic dry day sistahs, for me.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Forgot to show off the coffee cup.
Nothing fancy. Cheap and I won't worry if the cats were to break any.

Here is my mug this morning! Jaye, I thought I was the only one that buys stuff, puts it away for later, then can't find it! I found some Christmas gifts in the closet a few weeks ago, that were supposed to go to the boys last year! LOL! Guess I will save the hotwheels for this year?

Good Morning Ladies,

Our temps are just right, in the mid 80's but then going up Sunday and Monday high 90's then back down to the low 80's by mid week.
Well I finished cleaning out the last of Nanny's junk, lol. Donated a bunch of store to the thrift store, the lady gave me a really pretty blue flower pot that she had a $20 tag on. Not even worth that much had chips out of it plus it's cracked on the inside. But it will work fine for a plant in it. The rest of the stuff I'm taking to the dump.
Came across these doilies aren't they pretty? How many of you use doilies? I love them, but have no place to use them. So if any of you would like some, let me know other wise I am sending them to my cousin in Oregon (Sissy) she is making something with ladies hankie and doilies, hmmmmmm.

Have any of you woke up from a bad dream crying? I did this morning, dreamt that a girlfriend was visiting (haven't seen her in years), Doug came home from work (he doesn't work) and he said "You still here? I want you to leave!, I don't like you anymore". OMG what a crazy heartbreaking nightmare. I told Doug, he grabbed me and hugged me said "I love you, baby I'm sorry you had a bad dream"

My coffee cup is this CocaCola glass I picked up at the Dollar Tree, I got two with handles and two with out. They are nice thick glasses

And last some Gladiolas in bloom

Today I am going to start organizing my craft room, yay!!!!! Have so many things I want to make.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Excuse me ladies but that is not an exclusive!! I am always buying things and putting them away only to forget where I put them. Wanted a safe place so I guess I found one.

Love the cups. I have a very large pyrex square cup that is my favorite. Nope no small cups in the household.

Well it was suppose to be 20% rain chances today but apparently it changed over night. Whoever has the ark might need to prepare it to return home!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry about the bad dream! Maybe that is how you feel? Not wanted?

Love those glads, they are so pretty! And those doilies are cute too! But I don't use them here, all they would do is collect dust!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Cindy, did she make those doilies? Some energetic person could use those to applique to a quilt--that would be a really antique looking project.
I had forgotten about my coke glass mugs--to funny!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

You ladies on the coast sure are getting a lot of rain!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Here's my coffee cup - industrial..... Bob got it for me, so he's always putting his "Male touch" on things for me..... wants it practical LOL

Thumbnail by Tallulah_B
TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oooooooh Cindy - I too, wonder if that's how you're feeling? how sweet to have him wipe away your tears.
No, I've never woken up crying, but I have been scared for my life in a recurring dream, and woke up in a cold sweat.
Dreams are often your subconscious dealing with something you can't find words for when you're awake. And sometimes they're just "fluff" lol

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hmmm no I'm not feeling "not wanted". It was just a crazy dream, maybe I'm watching too many of those chicky flicks before bedtime. I know I'm "wanted", sometimes I wished I could clone myself so that I could be in two places at once, lol. Seems when family wants me to help or do something so do my friends. ^_^

Marion, no she did not make the doilies. She used to bid on storage sheds that people lost from not paying rent. She was a hoarder, BIG TIME!!!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Undeerstand.

4 days later, the traveler have their luggage---I bet that is one "smelly" group of people!! LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, what is the latest on your place? Are you going to be able to stay there, take over payments?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Any news Susan?

LK, next you'll have a tattoo of Tweety Bird!! Hot Wheels are good toys for boys for all ages. Even adults collect them.

Oh goodness, just don't 'hide' anything with an expiration date sistahs!
I did once, so Kel won't eat the Singapore cookies in one sitting. Hid too well, and when I found them, they had mildewed! Ewwww.

Good to know that the group can change into clean clothes. The airline should compensate them for that stressful unhygienic inconvenience!! Marion, how could that happen to a whole group's baggage? What airline did they use?

I had those dreams too Cindy. Kel woke me up from a bad one, once, and my pillow was wet.
Told him that I dreamt I was overseas and couldn't return to the States. He said that I must be probably sad that we'd be seperated. I told him that most likely I was sad that I wouldn't be reunited with Lola.
If it's him.. I should be laughing!! Wonder why he didn't think it's funny!

Hmm.. doilies?? You're tempting me there Cindy. BJ had given me some, I can do something with them if I had more.
Hope Sissy doesn't mind sharing.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

The interview went well, but I didn’t get the job (found out awhile ago this morning) because the boss wanted someone who was fluent in Engineering terminology, and I’ve a smattering of entry-level knowledge. After the boss left the interview, the HR rep said “I’m pulling for you because, terminology aside, I think you’d be a good “fit” for the boss – you’re smart, have a great work ethic, and I think your personality is a good match for him. I’ll have a talk with him and see if we can get you in for a 3rd interview”. Well, the boss really was “burned” by the last person, so I guess he wasn’t ready to try out someone who didn’t already have the terminology knowledge. Btw – they were both really impressed with my interview……..

However, the agency would like to put me forth for a one year term with another company that is also engineering, and they want someone who has had exposure to Oil & Gas. As a minimum, they will pay me $30/hr. That will be enough extra for me to get benefits for Bob & I. And a year in the industry would be good on my resume – I could then get another job in Oil & Gas. The thing is, they want someone with my office qualifications.
She just sent my resume over late this morning, so I’ll let you know if I get an interview.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, I have two tweety bird tattoo's, one is an angel, and the other a devil, as I am a Gemini. They are on my backside cheeks! :)

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Those dollies are pretty Cindy, I've seen a lot of crafts using them, in fact my mother had used small ones for her handi work in past years.

Found out that our baby girl is going to be operated on today or tomorrow. They will put a stent in , then in 3 months another surgery and later on when she turns a year old another surgery. I hate to think of more surgeries for the baby. The parents will be at a Ronald McDonald house so they will be near their little one. She is a pretty little thing, my niece has posted a picture on facebook she took with her phone camera. All those tubes and patches on her almost breaks your heart, but she is in good hands.

LK, you are telling us you sit on tweety bird??? I finally saw a humming bird at my feeder. I just see the one so apparently it isn't telling friends about the sugar necter.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you have a hummer, give it time, and you will see more!
My Tweety's are more up on my hips, so I don't exactly sit on them! LOL!
Saying prayers for that precious little girl!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Pegi - you certainly have your hands full with all that's going on in your family........
our Pastor's son had the same thing happen to him when he was born 21 years ago - the stent lasted that long before they had to replace it this past December! He's a healthy man, and recently got married. So, even that long ago the surgery "took" for quite awhile....... It's amazing what surgeons can do with medical technology now-a-days......

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

LK,
Yes we can assume the loan but we have to deal with Medical first. They want to be paid and the only asset she left behind is the house. But we can not sell the house because of a cracked foundation. So until we hear from Medical everything has been put on hold. The city is holding the loan on the house, and they told us get Medical done first. They told us they will not foreclose on us because they know how slow Medical works. But.........Doug's mom messed up, we thought she had sent all the info to them a month ago, but come to find out she didn't, she sent info to state disability instead. I have no idea what she was thinking. State disability???? Medical can take up to four months to let us know what they are going to do. I think we will be ok on the house, but will have to file an undue hardship, there is no way Doug's mom can afford to pay Medical back, and we can't help her either.

Jaye, tell which of the doilies you want. Sissy doesn't want them all. You get first pick. ^_^

I have 3 hummers, the other morning a little guy was sitting on clothesline waiting for me to fill the feeder, so cute.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

okay - I'm officially worried........ Bob just came home from his 2 weeks on the job with this new boss (Construction) and he asked Bob - 'want to get paid at beginning or end of day'. Bob asked what's the difference "one day's pay".
Now Bob's home, without getting paid, and the boss said "I'll call you at supper time when I have the cheque ready". My question is, why, when he knew how many hours Bob would put in today, couldn't he have written the cheque (I don't like cheques from people I don't know.......) while he was with Bob?!?! Why did he have to separate at the end of the day to give him his 2 week's pay?
Bob said "he wouldn't stiff me" and I said - "what?!?! you've never been stiffed before?!?!" It's after 5, and I haven't heard anything from the boss. He was going to call with his "arrangements" and Bob doesn't know if that means they meet somewhere, or if the boss will come by............ WHY am I married to such a sweetheart that trusts everyone?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning sistahs.
Hot cocoa for all, don't worry, it has caffeine too. Sure need a kick start this morning. Took 2 anxiety pills, a glass of Creme de Cassis, and my head feels as though it's in a vice grip this morning.
Had a terrible, terrible evening and needed a baby's sleep.

Why oh why did I ask that question LK? Should have known you'd been Tweeted!! Lol!!
My late mum's a Gemini. We can't figure her out most of the time with that dual personality. Only thing we can read of her, was when she's VERY quiet, all kids should tip toe around her!

Cindy, pick the ones that have more than one color for me. I appreciate that very much sistah.
In return, I will do something nice for you!

Pegi, I am convinced that your great niece's daughter will be alright and I pray that the family will have all the fundings necessary.
Lord bless the little one, and with doctors so far advance in their medical knowledge nowadays, she's in good hands.

Susan, they picked the wrong one!! You have a very impressive resume, and that boss should have trust your smarts that in no time, you'd be fluent in enginerring terminology.
Chin up sistah. You'll get one that has everything you want!
Poor Bob. Hope he gets his pay. Wouldn't it be great if one can check into a contractor/boss credit or paying record? It will hold all bosses accountable to paying salaries on time!!

So, what's eveyone up to on a Saturday?
I wish Joann's or Lobby Hobby aren't that far away, where I could disappear for a while to. Immerse myself in bolts of fabric, touching, podering and maybe indulge in a few fat quarters. Oh to glimpse through the pages of newly published quilting books.
And would that escape be made more nicer if I had a sistah right by my side?
Judy and I were like little kids at a Joann's in Franklin, Ohio. We'd keep running back and forth to each other seeking each other's approval on fabrics. Of course, we never disagreed. Thank God we had a very limited budget, if not our DHs would certainly won't allow another sistahs' rendezvous for us!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Ladies,
MMM hot cocoa sounds so good been awhile since I've had some

Jaye got the prettiest one picked out for you.

Most of you know about my granddaughter Taylor being so sick these past couple of years. Well her tonsils are coming out!!! Yup June 19th. And guess what she made the HONOR ROLL!!!! Yay!!! Both of my grandkids are very smart. Kain continues to amaze me at the stuff he knows. he was a great help to Taylor when she was home sick he would help her with her home work.

Taylor joined Hip Hop Dancing and has her first performance on the 16th. She get to rehearse on stage this week and is so excited about it. I went with her to one of her practices, let me tell you that girls has some MOVES boy, lol.

Here is a pic of Taylor in her outfit for the dance and one of her and my daughter Cristina.

Time for some coffee!! Wakey Wakey Ladies, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!!!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Morning ladies !!! Just popping in to say HI !!!
Been a really busy life here at the Wilson household lately.
Between my granddaughter and her friends invading my house for days on end... now that college let out for the summer... Craft room remodel due to water damage... Don being off a lot since we're in Baseball season... and all my ordinary life things going on... I've hardly had time to breath.
Think about you all a lot... hugs and kisses from Texas.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Wet morning again..thanks for the cocoa Jaye but I needed really strong coffee this morning. I was hoping to do some puttering in the yard but that won't be happening today!!

Had dinner with my son last night....thank goodness he loves seafood!!! Had fried mullet with all the trimmings and let me tell you it was good!!! He was telling me about all his upcoming travels for the next few weeks. Oh, maybe I haven't told you but he is doing a lots of diving with his job now...really prefer to hear about the dives when finished! LOL Leaves next week for 10 days in the Tortugues, followed by 2 weeks at what he calls Stilesville near Biscayne Bay I think. Then home to go to Natchez working on an old site with slave artifacts. Guess our money paid off with this one too...combines both degrees...history and archaelogy. I only mention this as it has been a long time since I have seen him this happy about his job. He has always loved diving (Mom doesn't) and to be able to do that with his field of study is great.

Kim finally got her luggage and says she is now looking for scholarships to study a summer in Barcelona. Shucks, I don't care about studing...I just want to go!!!! Seems to be enjoying her trip now she has clean clothes.

Have a great day all. Gonna go bake a birthday cake as it is Charles' birthday. Where does the time go?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Thanks for the hot cocoa Jaye! Sure hope you get a good nap in today?

Bj, glad you poked your head in the room. Sounds like you stay busy!

Well, we just made plans to go to Corpus Christi to the beach for my Birthday. We will be there Wed, and Thursday, and it will be extra special as Andy, Heather and the kids will be there also!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Jaye - thanks for the confidence - I have it Too!! Sure would like the job that pays so much to be mine PLUS be more than a year's contract........ And thanks for the hot chocolate! Hope you get some rest and feel better!!
Marion - so glad Kim got her luggage! Clean Clothes - yaaaaaaay!!!
LK - what a great birthday present! So happy that Andy, Heather, and the kids will be there with you. Eat cake for us, k?
Cindy - YAY! Your grandkids Are smart. "in the neighbourhood" - are you a Mr Rogers wannabe? lol
BJ - good to hear from you - I SO understand about water damage (see below - roof repair!!)
If I missed anyone - my apologies..... trying to play "catch up"! lol Love you all, and think of everyone often!

Bob got his paycheque last night! yaaaaaaay (still wish it had been a certified cheque, or cash...but companies don't give certified cheques, of course lol). I checked the company out on the web, and they have huge sales - $500k to 1M
Not bad for a 2/3 person operation! And he only works M-F, 8-4:30 usually! Good for weekends off to go camping.
Bob's still a bit ticked off at me cuz I didn't trust that he was right, but his previous track record with believing those he works for isn't good!

Got a bit of a surprise this am - a call from a leaky roof repair co. Bob's off getting his leaky truck tire fixed so he's not here. I called him (gotta love cells for keeping in touch) and he'd forgotten he asked for an estimate on repairing our roof...... Anyway, the fellow just left. I showed him the places where it's leaking and he'll put together a quote. He says he can do a patch for us (no re-roofing as this trailer park will be moved in 3 years, and we just Can't afford a new roof!) and that the roof deck is rotting in a 1ftx3ft area and that needs to be addressed...... Also at the parapet it's leaking and the water is running down to the join between the original home and the extensions (porch & den - my sewing room and we have our 2 computers). We Really need this expense right now, right?

Oh yeah - got a letter from the City, and they are definitely moving this park in approx 3 years. Takes 6 mo to 1 year to get all the approvals/paperwork done (electrical, plumbing, re-zoning, etc), and then the new park needs to be built, surrounding facilities need to be in place (transit, roads, Drs offices, etc) - another year. After everything is set and built, THEN they give us 1 year notice of termination of the current lease.
Previously they'd said our lease would move over to the new park and we'd keep the same rate as we have here, for 1 year. Don't know if this has changed..... They also have to advise us of relocation costs that they will pay, and what we have to pay.
Given the current state of our mobile, I'm thinking the main part and our extensions would part ways....... that deletes 1/4 of our living space.........and we Really use the computer room and my sewing area.... a Huge amount. Living room and TV don't get as much traffic as this den does LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, Bob works in construction, can he do it himself cheaper?
Glad to hear he got his paycheck! I would have been worried too!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

He's tried to repair the roof - no success. Apparently he's using a temp product that really isn't that good........
He used to be a roofer, but knows more about Remove & Replace......... as this is a metal roof, it's a bit different too.
The shingles are good though, the fellow says.

re: paycheque - Bob just doesn't seem to realize Just How Naive he is....... and he's feeling like I'm interferring between him and his boss....... NO, just wanting him to get a fair days pay for a fair day's work. And that hasn't happened often enough. Plus, he now is responsible for his own taxes again...........ARGHHHHHH!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cindy, thank you! Yes surprise me, like you do sometimes! It's not easy to find such doilies at the thrift stores and I quit crocheting a few years ago. Still it's nice to be in posession of some when you want to do something different for either a quilt or pillow, like Marion had said.
Might even turn them into bedroom curtains.
Taylor, congrats girl!! Such a smart gal. And she hip hop too! I think I'll be breaking bones if I tried that.
Your daughter sure looks like you Cindy. Guess beauty runs in the family, naturally.

BJ, hugs and kisses from NC!!!

Marion, I can read the pride in your words. You have a very very intelligent son!! Wow.. next thing he'll be specializing in will be anthropology! If he hadn't been to Natchez, he'll enjoy the old sites there.
So, what cake are you baking for Charles, Marion. Don't you miss the family baker? Glad to know that they finally got their luggage. Barcelona has a beautiful beach with topless sunbathers!! It's a playground for the young at heart. My nephew loves to go there
Marion, message Kim if you could and tell her to beware of pickpockets. They thrive in Europe like fleas!

Pegi, on FB there's a little girl that needs prayers. "Prayers for Payton". She's born at 24 weeks old and weighed under 2 pounds at 11 inches.
I pray that her organs are fully developed and she can grow up to be like any normal child.

Susan, it's good to keep reminding Bob of his 'trust' issue. There are so many dishonest bosses out there. Thank God Bob got paid. Hope it won't cost you too much for a simple roof fix.

I am so bone tired today. Did a lot of arguing with Kel over his idiotic actions that have grave consequences on our non-existing budget.
So, instead of stewing more, I just sew and sew and sew and FB and cook and chat with family over the phone. Now I'm ready for some drunk, mindless moment. Gonna finish that bottle of Creme de Cassis, and maybe take 2 Xanax.
It's good that he's working tonight, if not, for sure I'll be needing a spade and some lime!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Rudie says "Good night everyone!"

Thumbnail by heavenscape
(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Lol Jaye, his degree actually is actually anthropology. Yes, he has been to Natchez on projects.

Kim is aware of the pickpockets and had tried to really stress this to the students when they had their pre trip meetings. I forsee another study abroad coming up for her...a student for life.

Well it was plain ole yellow cake with chocolate (dark) cream cheese icing. Nothing fancy!!

Tired spent the evening with son and family and this grandma needs to recover.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Jaye - Bob knows I'm right, but it's hard for him to Not trust someone he's gotten to like. Anyway - he has his cashed cheque in our account lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear that Jaye! Hope you got a good nights sleep?
Morning everyone, coffee is ready.
