Few flowers that braved the rains.
Susan, LK, I wish you both can grow some daylilies!

I can grow daylilies, Jaye - they're perennials here.....
Cathy's a jewel, to be sure, Betty - lovely of her to have worked at your house when she's "almost bedridden"!
We got 20 drops of water and some horrible thunder. Can I say we had rain? LOL
LOL nope, just a loud noise!!!
Jaye, I wish I could grow them too!
Ah but the rain finally came. I wish it had lasted longer but we did get a good rain.
wow - got a Skype call from Betty and didn't expect it so didn't have my camera, earphone/mic set up. Found them all, and now they're connected LOL Now she's offline from Skype lol
She is probably sound asleep.
She popped back onto Skype and we chatted for 5 minutes.
I said "good night" to her, so I know she was toddling off to sleep. :-)
Now that my, and her, Skypes are working (I got my mic and camera set up), I will Skype the group when they arrive at her house (That is IF they get back to the house, cuz she has a FULL schedule with everyone lol )
Good Morning Ladies,
Coffee is on, but too early for breakfast lol
Hmmmm I need to figure out how to use Skype, it is pre-loaded on my new laptop.
My Amy, has a lump above her right eye I'm hoping it is just a cyst and not a tumor :(
Cleaned out another closet and found a bunch of old coins, a lot of foreign coins, some 1979 Susan B Anthony, silver dollars, nickels, pennies etc. And these sterling silver money clips and belt buckles. The money clips still had price tags $60, wonder if they are worth more now, hhhmmm?
My son in law is going to be getting a booth at a huge flea market that is held in Auburn twice a year, hopefully he can sell this stuff for me.
Cindy, those are beautiful. If you can't sell them as a belt buckle, you can take them to someplace that advertises they buy gold and silver, and get the price of silver for them. Right now it is $29.36 per troy ounce. Plus the turquoise is worth something too! I would have them checked out before you try to sell them.
Here is just an example...

Morning everyone!
Yes I am going to go to several different dealers and see what answers I get. The SBA dollars are worth at least $20 each( I think, lol)
Sure wished I could get enough for this stuff for a down payment on a Harley Davidson trike, lol.
Those are Beautiful, Cindy! Here's hoping you get a good price for them!
btw - there were 4 tornadoes in the Calgary area - one in NW Calgary (I live in NE, so was safe from them), and the Thunderstorms were loud and bright, but the RAIN was something awful!! It leaked a bit above our furnace (we don't have a basement, so it's on the main, and only, floor). We also had a leak in a doorway in the middle of our home. Bob's going to have to get up on the roof and figure out where it's leaking........
BUT we don't have it Near as bad as some of our neighbours......... One (Kay) has actual holes in her roof, but she asked Bob to fix it at the end of June because she doesn't have the funds until then. I have to call her at work to see how she fared - she's the Church secretary. I'll wait until 10am to call another friend (Margaret) who Bob is going to work on leaks for - he had to do some other work for Kay before he could do Margaret's - she asked for him to do her leaks before mid-June...........cuz that's when the rains usually hit, but we had Torrential rain last night/this morning......
Sorry to hear about all the leaks Susan! Hope you can get them fixed soon.
Betty, you'll be finding more than one thing to do for Cathy!! Just some buttertarts will make her day, Betty!
(Why oh why do I always link buttertarts to Betty?)
Susan, can't do any video chat here. I had at one time when EVERYBODY'S on dial up!!
Cindy, I agree wholeheartedly with LK. Appraise them first before selling them. Especially turquoise in jewelry set pre-'80s are the real deal! I've watched enough antique and pawn shows that I sure would love to acquire an old belt buckle like that!
Cool and drizzling here. I need the coffee for sure Cindy!
Yup........as I said though, ours are minor.......... I worry about Kay & Margaret's though.....
here's a link re: tornadoes...... we were lucky not to have any in our end of the city:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/story/2012/06/05/calgary-tornado-lethbridge-environment-canada-warning.html?cmp=rss
Jaye - you link buttertarts to Betty cuz people have enjoyed them in her Canadian home.... lol
Too bad people can't link 'em to me, cuz no one's been here..... My mom has a "killer" recipe for 'em, and I have the recipe too (V B Grin)
Sorry to read about the leaks Susan.
God's surely looking out for you. Tornadoes can do more damage than just bad rains.
Never been to Betty's Canadian home, Susan.
But Betty had gone to Cookie's Sistahs' Reunion two years ago, which I had the pleasure of tasting her buttertarts!!!
Bob's out to work today - his boss works in the rain.......
the rain was Torrential! and we have a metal roof....... so very loud! I couldn't sleep until 3am because of it. I kept thinking (as we're on a hill's edge) that if the ground sinks anymore, that the trailer would tip.... it didn't, thank goodness, but it seemed as though the rain just kept pounding and I would need the Ark soon...........
aaaaaaaaaaaaah now I understand why you associate them with Betty - Of Course!!
How cute is that!!!!
awwwwwwwwww how adorable!!!!!! Thank you so much for posting my "smile for the day" - we all need a little sweetheart to smile at us!
^_^ Smiling back at Dylan!!
Blowing kisses too!!
He is adorable LK!!! He sure invites hugs and kisses.....
What a darling little boy! Beautiful smile and that makes me smile too.
Now that we have the funding for the meds. for DH, Kaiser informed us that they don't take outside funding. What!, that's not right. I was so upset over that, and before we went to the pharmacy the doctor called to see if DH got started on it. Now I have to call the Membership Services and ask them how I'm supposed to get the meds. I hope they can give me some answers. Too many ups and downs that I think I'm having a meltdown. DH has so many other medical issues, but this is the important one. Hell getting old!!! Think my hair got a little grayer.
Don't............ take.............outside............funding??!?! I don't understand that..... don't blame you for facing a meltdown. This is crazy, Pegi! But - feel free to come and vent here, cuz we Sure would understand that!!!!!!
I gather Kaiser has their own funding, and you & DH didn't qualify..... $$ is $$, right? If they would get paid for the prescriptions, what's the difference? Now I'm getting really mad..............
I used Advair and my doctor gave me a coupon for $50.00 off my prescription. Medicare doesn't allow using it!!!!!!
What? What is wrong with these people? The whole system is messed up if you ask me!
Morning everyone!
Pegi are they serious????
That's hard to believe. Like Susan said, money is money, and how could they turn down outside financing??
I pray you get some answers today. ((((Pegi))))
Oh sistah, I wish I'm a millionaire and can hand you whatever Darwin needs for his treatment!
Gonna be another (yes you guess it) wet day today, but the temps aren't as nice as yesterday.
My cats are sleeping 3/4s of their lives away with all the rain, and when they do they wake up, they drive me up the wall with their rambunctious scenarios.
If I have the ark, I'll definitely leave the cats behind!! Lol!!
Hope today is a good day for you sistahs.
Today @ noon I go for my 2nd interview with an Oil & Gas company for a position as a Project Administrator! Get to meet "the boss". I've done a lot of research on the company, and prayed as hard as I can for the position to be mine........
Sending prayers with you Susan! You can do this!
My interview went well - this time with the Boss (Bashar) and HR Rep (Dean). Bashar was trying to "trip me up" re: ngineering terminology (I'm not in the industry, so might get depressed when my high expectations aren't met - hogwash! I told him depression is personal, and I don't take these types of things personally, just work harder!). I told him I have an excellent work ethic, and am able to learn at a very fast rate - will study/research!
When Bashar left, Dean said he was "rooting for me", because engineering terminology aside, he thinks I'd be the best match, for technical and personality. They need someone to start Monday, and have 2 other people to interview. Dean is going to talk to Bashar to speak to him about me, and maybe I'll be called in for a 3rd interview. I'll let you know
Keep us posted!
Will do! I should have asked what day they were doing the other interviews. If it was today, I may hear early am the result for me.........
Anyway, I'll hear when I hear, right? lol
Found out some good news. I sent a message to the oncologist and the social worker called me. She couldn't believe Kaiser wouldn't take the outside funding so she made a few calls, including a direct call to the Chronic Disease fund. They explained that all the pharmacy has to do is go on their web site, give them all the information, including an ID number that is on the card, and they will issud a Visa card to use. The social worker called the pharmacy and explained how this works and she will explain it to the pharmacy manager and then we should get our funding. If I went to an outside pharmancy (Kaiser has their own pharmacies) I would lose my benefits. The med. costs $5,000 but with medicare it would cost us $869 which is still too much for us. On Monday I should know when he can start the meds. Most likey they will have to order the medication. It is taken with predisone which is fairly cheap for us. Thank God I have someone to work with me.
Also, my brother's great granddaughter was born today around 1 PM weighing 6lbs.12oz. and what the doctor's thought was a tumor on her heart is an underdeveloped heart valve. She was rushed by ambulance to the children's hospital and the doctors there will decide what they will have to do. Probably will be a few days before we know anything. Mother will stay in the hospital 4 days and then I'm sure she will be at the children's hospital. They all said to thank everyone for prayers. But we still need prayers for that little one.
Glad to hear you have someone to work with!
Sending prayer to that precious little one. Glad to hear it was not a tumor, heart valves can be fixed pretty easy!
