Surprised it's lived this long

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks Doug and Marilyn. Doug, Jerry is a Basset hound mix, though we're not sure what he's mixed with. You can see how crooked his front legs are.

Doug, you must post pics of the ewes.

Could use a good hunting cat here, too.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Happy Birthday Hope & Ero's, Diamond, and all the others!!

Thomaston, CT

Can't believe the Yorks are 2...seemed like they were just born.....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Happy birthday puppies!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I told Hope this morning.. glad she was still here to make me crazy!!

LOL

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Wow I'm gettin old!! Happy Birthday Yorkies! Smooches from Abby, Harper and Winston and me too♥

Had to rehome four of my five new chickens, all roosters and one was really mean. Kept attacking Lou this morning when he went in the run to catch them. He said it was lucky to come out alive...I was laughing watching him, couldn't help it. Finally had to throw a towel over it.

Thomaston, CT

Oh, they can be toughies!

This is my dog, buddy and one of our two guinea pigs.

Is Buddy a pug mix? They are cute....my dog wouldn't like another animal in the house....she's gotten very possessive since my airedale died......

Durhamville, NY(Zone 5b)

Buddy is cute and I love the guinea pig picture.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Hi Buddy, I like your jacket!

Buddy is a smooth haired brussel's griffon or they are also called petite brabancon like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=TRLgta5-NY0 or this one http://youtu.be/v5lc0UOV_LY

and they really do make funny noises like that. They are very smart and independent minded (stubborn sometimes).

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Ronnie I would have laughed at him too!!!... love Buddy!!!

http://youtu.be/3afqRxcUFYA Here's another cute example of the smooth haired brussels (the owner's say short hair, but they are really called smooth hair). They look so much like a pug because Brussels Griffon have pug in their ancestry. However if you look at them closely, you'll notice that they have quite a pronounced underbite and the brown colored brussels is actually called "red" because it is reddish brown and not fawn like the pug. Their body type is also much more slender. I think they look like "gremlins" from the movie and their rough haired cousins (long haired brussels) look like ewoks.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I love guinea pigs - had them when I was a young girl.

Yeah the guinea pigs are a trip. Half my garden is devoted to them. :)

Thomaston, CT

I never saw a smooth haired griffon! My son has a griffon, but Oliver is the huge wirehaired, pointing variety....he's 8, acts like he's 1......just a total goof!

Oh, you are maybe talking about the Griffon Vendeen? or something like that? Kind of a scruffy looking fellow, right? Brussels Griffons are very tiny. Most of them don't weigh over about 15 pounds.

Thomaston, CT

No, he's a wire-haired pointing griffon......chestnut with silver markings.....a big boy, about 80 pounds......here's a photo from a dog book...can't find any photos of Olllie at the moment....

LOL. I like that photo with the tongue sticking out sideways. There are a few dogs I guess that have "Griffon" in the breed name.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Winston at nearly 35 lbs. already! He is a sweetheart and real smart but a typical puppy for sure, I don't dare leave him alone for even five minutes!

This is what happens in five minutes!

Oh Ronnie, I can SOOOOOOO sympathize!! LOL Cyrus has eaten 2 remotes, both times because we didn't take with us. I now get a babysitter for him....ask Allison. Had to get one for Justin & one for Cyrus just to spend the day away from home with her & Randy!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

BTW, he's adorable!!!!! Hard to reprimand them isn't it?

Thomaston, CT

Oh, sweet, sweet face....not his fault, of course...the soil just disappeared out of the pot!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

My cat have never eaten a remote! So there. Of course Wallingford does pee on everything if I make him mad. . .

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

What a face!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Yup real hard to reprimand!! This was this morning while loading the dishwasher. He got away with it long enough to snap a pic.

Oh my, he's going to be as big as Marmaduke! I'm glad you know what to do to train him.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh my gosh!!!!! ROTFL.....couple more pounds and that door would have been done for

Here's my friend's Basset

Jen that's the funniest pic I've ever seen!!

Thomaston, CT

Bassets are just too funny......

luvsgrtdanes is that the pre-wash cycle?

Bassetts are great!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

ooohhhh Ronnie... the joys of puppyhood... LOL.. I am still struggling with Hope & Eros ... they like to jump in the racks of plants outside.. so I haven't been able to put anything on the bottom 3 shelves.. UGH.. I haven't been able to tell them NO enough while in the act to make it stop... they love to be outside and sometimes for hours... but I just made my life easy and didn't put anything there.. until I have time to spend with them.. hopefully this week

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Can you put chicken wire around the bottom to keep them out of it?
