Coffee Break # 80

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I certainly hope to make the RU, Jan! Hopefully, we can make an extended weekend.

Adam is truly an inspiration, as is his entire family.

We all did a fundraiser 3 mile walk/run today. Great day. Course was right along the Hudson. My son ran and did very well - 20:33. One of the top times in his age group. A 10 yr old girl did it in under 20 minutes! Amazing. A 67 yr old man did it around 21 minutes.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Maybe that will be a weekend Fairweather is open. One can only hope.

Glad you were able to have that family time. Great times!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Jen.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Yep, that's about it. Cool place to visit.

Thomaston, CT

One of my favorite birding spots.....

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

And you can find Cape May diamonds.

Thomaston, CT

Never did that, but saw some life-list birds, & to me that's precious!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Priceless!!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Today after awards ceremony my son started summer vacation but it feels more like the start of school...brrrrr

Both my kids were on the high honor roll and earned schlorship awards, more proof my brains have been sucked out of my head

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Lol!!! Congrats to them both!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

thanks

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee Jen, congrats!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Good work, Mom!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Congrats Jen! The scholarships ought to help you too.

Boy do I know what a sucked out brain is like! The mysterious middle ear issue I have caught up with me, so I'm home today to rest. HS graduation for my three was yesterday; senior prom had been Thursday. The school did some things very very well. I slept like a baby last night because they had an all-night graduation party at the school--I knew exactly where they were from 10 pm until 5 am. I know where they are now, too--all sleeping.

Thomaston, CT

Congratulations to the kids! And to the Moms & Dads that encourage them.....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

That's neat that they have an all night party at the school

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Big weekend for sure, Rosemary. Glad you all are taking a rest day. Sorry, yours is because of the ear issue.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Congrats Jen, you should be very proud!!!

Meant to say no update on Baby Adam today, but yesterdays was that his blood count had doubled. His sores in his mouth and on his little neck are starting to heal because of the doubled count, this is good news. This little boy is such an amazingly strong baby....must be those genes!!! ^_^

great to hear celeste!

Lots of achievements happening, makes the heart glow. Baby Adam's and his doctors and family show there is no age limit.

Yay for Adam!

Love hearing the good news, Celeste, Jen and Rosemary. Great way to start the day. Jen....count me as not surprised at all! Congrats! Rosemary....hope you feel better soon.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks. I made it through work today.

Thomaston, CT

Good, Rosemary! I'm hoping to stay out of the doctor's office the rest of the summer!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

How nice of you to say, Robin. Actually in my case going to the doctor (for chronic problems) is a good thing--maybe they'll find a new angle or new PT. Mainly, I just dont think a person can go on a high stress schedule forever, so the body has its way of sending messages to slow down.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Did any of your kids win that game they were playing?

Thomaston, CT

Just hasn't been a good spring for me with the PI on my eyelid & the bee sting.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ugh - sorry, Robin.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Hoping you'll have a very healthy summer, Marilyn! And the same for everyone else too! No fair being sick during gardening season!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

No. My kids didn't win the Assassins game. It got pretty close to the end and one daughter had to eliminate the other. They made a deal to split any winnings, but then it was finals week, and the "target" was very eager to win too. My daughter didn't get to him in time, so she "timed out." The truth is I knew a lot --where this boy takes violin lessons, etc. but did not interfere. So I think they finished positvely in school. The boy ended up claiming the nearly $800 prize. The second and third place finishers got nothing.

Once I get my energy back, I'm thinking it would be nice to start a thread for graduations and special events this time of the year, just not tonight. The teens are getting the computer room for a pajama party, just about NOW

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks for the prayers, everyone. Dad is now in a nursing home for rehab in Middleboro. We went to see him tonight, and he's doing well, but confused. The administrator moved a piano in the common room for Dad to use. It's way out of tune, so he said he was going to get it tuned. Hopefully things will work out for him there. It wasn't the nursing home we wanted for him. None of the ones we liked had a bed.

Jen, congrats to your kids, and congrats to your son as well, Victor!

Rosemary, I hope your ear issue clears up soon. I never have issues with my ears, other than the constant ringing, which started after I was taking too many doses of Ibuprofin for too long a time. That will never go away. At least it doesn't hurt.

More good news on Adam. Good to hear that, Celeste.

Rosemary, that would be nice to have a special thread for graduations and special events.

Karen, glad to hear dad will have access to a piano. Hoping it helps with his confusion. Big hugs to him and you.

DS in Houston area is having an ultrasound n his liver tomorrow. He has been sick with a fever for over a week and his liver enzymes are high. Praying for answers for him.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks Jan. Prayers for your DS.
