Pups have the right idea, that's what's going on in my house too! Love the wall!
Lou's polyps were all benign, such a relief!

Haven't given an Adam update in awhile....it's not all that great. :(
SAT. May 26th, 2012
Megan and I both have been feeling a little under the weather. Baby Adam has been feeling very sick from the chemo, with fevers that come and go, nausea, pain issues, skin breakdown, and a bacterial blood infection. He's taking it like a champ though tough little man that he is. His blood counts are way down and it makes it harder for his body to heal from the skin breakdown and harder to fight the bacterial infection in his blood, the blood infection is called "Alpha Staff" and is treatable with the right antibiotics but it will take a few days or so because of Adam's low white blood cell counts and lack of a strong immune system, this type of infection usually affects the respiratory system creating alot of excess mucus that the nurses have to periodically suction out. He has been getting lots of rest and has been somewhat comfortable the last few days, they have him on a continuous Dilaudid Drip(morphine) for right now to keep him pain free. He has a few spots where the skin has corroded and is missing layers of skin and looks very raw and sore...we have been keeping fresh vaseline strips on it to keep it moist and unexposed as the wound specialist recommended. Still trying hard to get him moving and doing physical therapy when he feels up to it. They gave him a new kind of chemo on Thursday it is similar to an epidural where they put chemo directly into the spinal fluid in his back and we will be alternating between that type of chemo and the "intrathecal chemo" (into spinal fluid in his head) as well as "Systematic" (I.V.) chemo. We are waiting for his blood counts to get back up so he will feel and heal better then when he is doing really well again they have to give him more chemo and he gets sick again :( poor little buddy. PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR BABY ADAM AND THAT THE CHEMO IS EATING UP THE REMAINING SPOTS OF TUMOR!!
MONDAY:
Baby Adam is feeling o.k. today he is laying on his mama cuddling and has been comfortable, still pretty congested with mucus rattling in the back of his throat when he breaths...Megan and I have been taking turns holding him and doing chest P.T. patting his back to loosen up the mucus and trying to suction it out. Just changed the dressing on his neck sores and they are starting to look a little better and growing back some new skin thank god. They added some magnesium and potassium to his "T.P.N." (I.V. Nuetrition) because they were a little low. Still treating the blood infection and we expect it to take a little time because of his low white blood cell counts and lack of immune system. Hopefully within the next couple days we will start seeing his blood counts come back up and he will HEAL much better. Still hoping that we can get him home for a few days toward the end of the week before his next systematic chemo treatment. Try to keep you updated in the mean time.
Thanks for our support and prayers, have a good memorial day.
PLEASE KEEP PRAYERS GOING FOR BABY ADAM
LAST NIGHT: May 29th, 2012
Today the nuerosurgeon came in today to take out the stitches in Adam's head and we found out the shunt system in his head is not working now, but he had a c.t. scan on friday and it showed that his "ventrics" (pockets of spinal fluid in his brain) were enlarged, so most likely it has been that way since friday and his body is tolerating it well so far. We are hoping that the precedure that they tried before the shunt to open up the drainage system naturally in his head is able to work now and that the chemo has cleared up the small pieces of tumor that were blocking the drainage before. His body doesent have enough white blood cells or platelets right now to do any surgery to fix the shunt without putting him at HUGE risk for infection. We have to watch him closer that ever for signs of increased cranial pressure and if that were to happen then we would have to take the risk of infection and he would have to have emergency surgery. Needless to say Megan and I are nervous recks this morning trying to process this new information. PRAYERS FOR THE DAY SHOULD BE FOR ADAM'S HEAD TO DRAIN THE SPINAL FLUID AND FOR THE BLOOD INFECTION TO GO AWAY!! THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND PRAYERS
These are his parents, my Great Nephew... Big Adam & Megan @ the fund raiser on May 19th.
They are a special and beautiful couple Celeste!
They are so strong, but you can see it is taking it's toll. Adam has really dark circles, he finds sleep hard to come by. :(
Continued prayers for the Adams and Megan. For peaceful sleep, strength(both physical and emotional), for things to drain well and for buildup of blood levels and all the rest that goes along with little Adam's procedures. For you, too, dear.
Yes, prayers & hugs for the whole family....
still wishing them all the best
Hi Celeste, I've been following your posts about baby Adam. Hugs and love to you and Adam's whole family. Prayers for healing now and always.
Harper
Glad to hear the update, Celeste.....will keep up the prayers for all of you.
Ronnie, glad to hear the good outcome! Quite a relief, huh?
Glad you all like the progress so far....it is nice that so many of you know the spot and can recognize where it is. They finished the site work and we are very pleased with the job they did. I overdid putting in the path and planting 5 creeping phlox in the wall, 4 coleus, filled 2 barrels with annuals, moving clumps of flag iris's and some assorted other plants. I slept 2 & 1/2 hours this afternoon - not badfor someone who doesn't nap! :)
Bill, the stones are mostly the foundation stones from the 1700s barn that was across the road. The rest were from the woods behind the barn. That's why they needed the equipment. :). We like resurrecting the old foundation and bringing the stones into visibility, instead of leaving them hidden among the
We arrived home last night after a hairy drive through a terrible storm to find we had no power or phone. Thank goodness for the wood stove this morning for a cup of coffee. Good timing to work outside on the new garden. We got power back a bit ago, but still no phone. Glass is still more than half full. :)
Hello Harper Dear. I just came in from enjoying the beautiful blue and white columbine you gave me. They are gorgeous and I always think of you when I look at them. Thanks again! How are you?
hoping for the best celeste.
Been following the Adam updates on fb, my church family has been praying too
Prayers for Adam & his family.
Same here, Celeste. Never stopped.
Hey Harp! How are you?
Thank you guys, it most appreciated ,,, they put him in PICU last night.
Hi Harper, thank you and please stop by more often, we miss you!!
We prayed for Adam in Bible study last night.....Louise, sounds like the garden is humming along...what a great idea to use the old stones! Hope all is well, Harper....
Just a quick note .. I had fraudulent charges on my CC.. My only recent purchase was from Lee Valley.. Make sure if buy from there don't use a debit card
Wow...thanks for the heads-up, Allison.....sorry it happened to you.....
Yes, Marilyn, it changes by the hour! Today, we put in a Mountain Fire Andromeda, moved a non-blooming 11 year old memorial rhodie for my Mom into prime location, "borrowed" some gravel from the road being graded today for the paths, and added a couple small perennials. Tomorrow they are redressing our driveway with bluestone chips, so that will top my paths. Next, the many- generations heritage peony from Hank's Mom's family goes in, along with some more iris's from DG friends, some astilbe, a small hydrangea and some neon sedum will move in. I have 2 goldflame spirea and a magic carpet spirea to go in also. I was lobbying for a colorful JM from Bill's list, but Hank "surprised" me with a bloodgood that is a "twin" to the one that i brought with me into the marriage. Hard to look my gift horse in the mouth, I guess. :). Now i have to find another location to site a different kind of JM. Our garden guru here told Hank that the bloodgoods are best suited for our 4B zone up here on the hilltop.
Oh, Allison...that is such a pain. Glad to know about it though.
There is a commercial these days for Dish Network and its new hi capacity dvr multi-room system, called the Hopper. Every person in the commercial keeps saying 'hopper!' a gazillion times. I picture Celeste saying Harper! ^_^
Funny, Victor! Don't you find that commercial annoying? I didn't like the punch commercials either. Talk about the dumming down effect! If someone punches me over a car, I'll be explicit. Lol
Some give the New
England pronunciation of hoppah. It goes on for a bit.
Yes, it is annoying. Many commercials are.
Boy nothing like getting picked on when your not around. :)
Baby Adam had surgery to relive the pressure on his brain, this is not looking good.
So sorry, Celeste. Still in my prayers.
Sorry, Celeste.
sorry Celeste.. will pray more
(((♥♥♥Celeste)))
Very sorry, Pixie....how agonizing for everyone......
Sorry Celeste I thought that he was improving & hope that the surgery goes well. So much for a tough little guy.
(((HUGS)))
