Torrential rain here all day with high winds

Jeff my youngest bought new kayak, came up last night so he could leave early this morning up the Trent for the weekend, no go..sat with mom all day, finally decided to leave for home..1 1/2 hr drive..said if sunshine comes out in the mornimg he will be back.

Yep, taxes are taken off the top, before you get your check! Texas lottery site says it is 25% for anything over $5000.00 for legal residents, and for non legal residents it is 30%. It is also reportable income, and you have to claim it on your taxes.

My last day at my job assignment. They don't have another assignment because, as they say, I'm actively interviewing for a perm job........ siiiiiiiigh.
Well, I DO have an interview on Monday @1:30 for a high end position as an EA - they only hire 1 out of 100 that apply, so if I get a job with them, I'd feel fortunate. Starting right away, apparently...........

Susan, the Gears had started 2 new series, "People of the Longhouse", and they "The Battle for America".
In these series, you won't find any characters being rehashed from the old ones.
The third books of both of these series are out, but I can no longer afford hardcovers, will have to wait on paperbacks! It's so frustrating when the libraries in this town and the next, don't carry the Gears' books.
Wishing you good luck and no, I shall never get tired of praying for a good job for you Susan. I am thankful that He's making sure you and Bob have everything you need.

Not into much of anything today, as the grounds are wet outside, and it looks decievingly sunny :(
So, I'll just sew. Yep, undertook more sewing commitments, but that's one way to steer the depression away if I can't work outside!

Good Morning Ladies,

Had Prime Rib for dinner, yum yum. We got the the Bar/Grill early, being a Friday night this place is very popular. We were the very first ones to get the first cuts of the Prime Rib too ^_^, but no dessert Jaye. Not enough room for it, we all brought home half of our Prime Rib that is how big the cuts were.

Anyhooo, a little cooler today Doug and I are taking a ride up to the mountains to a concert.

Here is pix of him and his Mama, she is such a sweetheart. Wished my mom was as laid back as she is.

Oh goodness, I wanted to sew the last couple days, didn't happen, too busy running around! But Mil, needed some help...Doc appt, She looks like Rocky Raccoon! Eyes swollen to slits. Had a huge argument with Breenie. So today she is making up for things and helping her grandma!

Well, I love the previous "People" series so if the Gears have a new "People" series, it's written in the same inimitable style, so sure I will love it too! I will need to wait until we're working to be able to afford anything, but will watch for the newest series.

Thanks for the prayers, Jaye - not sure how I'm going to pay bills during this "between" time, but am cutting all our expenses big time!

Well our ride to the mountains didn't happen $20 a person was a bit too much to pay, so we took the "girls" and went to the lake swimming. OHHHHHH the water was awesome!!! It was Amy's first time, being able to just swim without being dragged down stream so she really enjoyed it. But she had more fum chasing the little waves that would splash against the bank, lol. Silly dog and I forgot my camera grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

Got a little red, but not burnt but sure have a funny tan on my back from wearing different tank tops and bathing suit. Told Doug I need to go topless. He said "OK" I said "Yea and watch how fast these people pack up and leave!!!" LOL He said good then I can get some fishing in. I smacked him a good one ^_^

Went out to dinner last night with one of the students that will be in the group going to Europe. Her Mom also happens to be our Vet....had so much fun, laughter and relaxing time. I am a little down now that the realization has hit me that I can't go to Europe this time. Oh well, such is life.

Cindy, when my sister first came down to the states, she and her DH decided to extend their vacation in Florida.
She was sunbathing on a public beach and DH was proud that she's getting stares from men... until a beach cop told my sister that she needed to put her top on!!
Zi said, they sunbathe topless in France!! Cop said, it's the USA and we're prudes!! Lolol!!

Been one hectic Sunday, and my back is hurting again. Think I'll use a heating pad as the electric blanket has a single control! Hmm.. maybe I need to take extra painkillers, but I fear being addicted to that.

Jaye, you should have seen the looks on my boys faces when they saw their first nude sun bathers in Belgium! I thought they were going to break their necks as we walked past them in the park! Funny how different countries have different views on things!

My BIL even tried on clothes in the middle of an aisle at Target, until my ex stopped him. Of course, BIL explained that they 'do that' in France!

Cindy, that kind of weather isn't good for the sinuses neither. Especially when high humidity accompany that!

Rained a little just now. Got busy running around town and taking advantage of meat sale at one of the local grocery stores. Imagine, sirloin roast at $2.50 a pound. Got enough to last a whole month!! Of course, it's just not the meat, I stocked up, but had a good deal on the russet potatoes and pasta too.
If only the price of good caviar went down!! Lol!!

Well, back to regular humdrum drudging work. Cooking, cleaning, certainly emptying the laundry bin today.

Jaye, I have not seen meat that cheap in a long time, not even hamburger!

Jaye, it's very DRY here and it's not raining enough to even water the plants good. But sure made a mess on my 4runner with all the dust on it :(

Thanks everyone, his wife just called, and said he is a little more alert, but still having trouble knowing anyone or names. Still waiting on test result. They are keeping him over night for observation, and more test in the morning.

I just had a wonderful 1st interview with an Oil & Gas company - agency sent me, and by the time I got home to call the agency, they'd already been called to ask me to come in for a 2nd interview Thursday at Noon!! First interview was with the HR Manager, and 2nd one is with the boss I'd report to!
My experience is, that if the HR Manager approves me for a job, then the boss generally goes with the decision. But, that being said, of Course he wants to meet me first.

Can you imagine that a hospital would cancel a sonogram for brother's great grandaughter with a tumor on her heart because of scheduling proglems, then to tell them the heart surgeon isn't available on the 5th so C-section is now on the 7th. I would think this would be a an emergency situation. Just hope she doesn't go into labor before that as I know it would be too stressful for the baby to be born natural. Will keep you informed.

omygoodness, Pegi! that sounds awfully traumatic to have what seems to me to be an emergency situation, cancelled and put off a few days.......... and what IF the baby arrives early.........

Really! I have heard of horror stories, but this is bad! I would go back and talk to the head of the hospital or someone!

Jims wife just called, he did have a TIA, small stroke, so they will keep at least over night! Still more test to come, I am sure!

Oh Pegi, where are the doctors' priorities nowadays?? Didn't that surgeon took the Hypocritical Oath to save lives????
I would certainly raise hell! Gonna say a prayer for her too.

Got the news today that we will get financial funding for the medication the oncologist wants DH to take. Once we give the card to the doctor and he puts in all the information they want DH will be able to start taking the meds. The load on my shoulder is a lot lighter now. Thanks for all the prayers, they truly helped.
