Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chatting with friends...

Hello everyone!!

Pegi yes, and he says it's unfair that I won't let him have his fair half. I inherited that from my grandparents 6 years before I even met him. He didn't have half when we got married before I sold my other house, why would he need half now???? He's turned into quite the gold digger.

Lilacs grow in California, maybe not Southern California, but they do grow in Central and Northern California, and probably the Bay Area too and up in the mountains on the east side of the state. California has a lot of different climates and a lot of different regions. Here's info, you all might find it interesting:

I've been typing this forever it seems.

Some honeysuckles are vines, some are not. There are about 180 different types of honeysuckle. Here's more info:

Well Crissy let's hope you don't end up with short end of the stick! Have you already inquired about Hobby Lobby?

Looked and yes I've the honeysuckle shrub and 3 of the vines, vines are growing but not in leaps and bounds..maybe they also take years to establish themselves.

Now what has really grown, now about 3' is goats beard!

Goat's Beard aka spirea is a beautiful showy plant. I got some from a lawyer/friend/employer (I did his yard/garden) while in Winnipeg, and it took off like crazy lol

Hi y'all!
Well, y'all have certainly been busy! I know I've been MIA, but with the week-end and playing outside, I just haven't been on the puter much. We've been going through old pics and scanning, too. Here's a few I'll share.

Most of you know Moses is my guide dog. We went waaay back and found pics of my other babies. I'm not good at doing multiple pics, so will show you one at a time.

First, here's my Molly. She was a golden retriever. I had her for 5 years ... that made her a bit over 6. Poor baby went blind with cataracts. She was a sweet girl. I had her from 77--82.

Suse - Molly looks so soft and warm! It must have been hard to let her go after only 5 years!
Looking forward to seeing your other guides!

Whew, I didn't think that posted. DG is running slow for me. Now here is my 2nd dog. Her name was Tosha, but she didn't work out. She had some training issues and after 11 months I returned her. She was a gorgeous girl, though ... an itty bitty 47 lb golden retriever with red highlights.

I think DG is having problems, Suse - several times when I posted the site went "down" and I had to repost 3 or 4 times.

Tosha's pic came out tiny, but I can see by your hands that she was small!! "red highlights"???? OH, y'mean in her hair - she was strawberry blond?!?! That sounds lovely!

Okay, now here is a picture of my Caleb. He was one fine dog. It nearly did me in when I had to have him put to sleep. I had him from 84--96. We went through a lot together.

Caleb looks like a strong, fine dog. Twelve years is a long time to have a partner - especially one so dependable. I imagine it would be very hard to make the kind and loving decision to put him to sleep..........

Now this is my Kotagirl. This is her 1 year old picture. LOL She's the one I lost a couple of years ago now. She healed my heart after Caleb. I had her from 96 to 2010. She had a good long life. I wanted God to take her so I wouldn't have to put another one down, but it didn't work out that way.

Suse, heartbreaking sometimes to go down memory lane..beautiful dogs!
If I'm correct there should be one more other than Moses..

Susan, I'm going to have to relocate the goats beard, ends up to be a bug shrub, should have thought it out better!

Sure did play lazy today. Kyle just came over to tell me all about their weekend away. Noah is packing for early mornimg graduation trip with school to Ottawa (our Washington) he will be home Friday.

They did say rain for this evening and night..from looks of it , it may have passed us by.

Instead God gave me a miracle. I prayed and prayed for another dog. I lost Kota on Feb 5th and applied to school, but they said it would be Nov/Dec before I could get in. I just couldn't be without a dog that long. I asked God to please send me a sign ... I heard about the school in FL so applied there instead of MI. I got a date of Sept and then they had an opening for Aug. The minute my dog walked in the room and they told me his name was "Moses" I knew God was just getting my dog trained for me. Now here's my Moses! I can't believe it will be 2 years for us in Aug! He's a very special guy!

Okay, thanks for letting me share those pics. I've never done that before. Smile I've been very blessed. Please, if you ever see a member of Lions Club, be sure to support them. I've never paid a dime for any of my training or dogs. They are a wonderful organization.

Kota and Moses, you sure have been blessed Suse!

You know we have these organizations in town and don't know but a small percentage of the good they do in our communities. They bring so much good to our communities.

Time for bed..not overly tired, just hope I can fall asleep..short week, Tues. Wedn and thurs then 3 day weekend again.

Patting myself on the back for all I got accomplished but I sure will enjoy resting at work. Lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Suse - Kotagirl looks like she was happy to have gotten you over Caleb.
What a blessing Moses is...... it sure sounds like God had blessed you - got you out of your "wilderness" that you were travelling in..........

I agree Betty - we really don't know all the good that these organizations do. We have the Lions Club here in Canada, and I also see that WM has a statue of 2 guide dogs with a place to put a donation in. Next time I see that statue I will definitely donate, thinking of Suse while I do so!! Bless you, Suse

Woke up at 6:30 and am starting on the loads of laundry now that the washing machine has been moved. In this weather, if I don't do it early it doesn't get done.

Besides the heat, the city water gets turned off during the day most days during the summer. The tank connects to the sink for washing dishes but not to the washer. Another chore for Tony to do someday.

Nice and cool this morning.

Back to the washer.

Morning everyone!

Katie, why does the city turn off the water during the day? Is there a water shortage?

Betty, bet your plants are loving that rain?
