Good morning. I am having to use Kim's computer as we are having trouble with our router...thus mine off line for now. Lots of high winds, thunder and more wind but alas not a drop of rain fell from the sky!!! Only from the end of my hose!!!
A really hectic week here so will check in when I can.
BTW, my water problem with the mold...inspector came, informed me yes I had a water damage situation, yes there was mold and no! they have a special clause that excludes coverage of that situation from being covered. Say What? Can you say: Looking for new insurance provider!!!

۞Sweet Interruptions # 240۞
Oh Marion, that is not good! I think I would appeal that somehow?
Sis Kathy, sorry to hear about your plant damage. But they will recover!
yes, jack is the goat. marion, can you say fire insurance?
yes, jack is the goat. marion, can you say fire insurance?
Sis Kathy, I know you're kidding about that fire insurance right!! But around here when there's a house fire, we know it's deliberate :(
Aww Marion. I'll make sure to get Starbucks coffee if that will help. Hope the costs are affordable.
We're here crossing our fingers!
LK, I want to hug and kiss Isabelle. She's adorable. You have certainly made 2 kids very happy. Your DG name should be SewingAngel.
yes lk, you are an angel. proud to be your sis
Thanks everyone!
well, jack ate the tops off my zinnias and sunflowers. didnt touch the bee balm or other herbs
They will eat tin cans, what made you think your plants were safe?
cuz jack is special. he thinks im his mommy
Isabelle looks happy to get this very pretty quilt!
Morning sistahs.
Breakfast bar is set up. Coffee and an assortment of creme filled doughnuts. Yup, sugary, gooey stuffs that will draw attention to your waistline.
Sue, try to sell it on Craig's List or of course eBay. I hope you have a good sale. And good sales for your plants too!
Have you been sleeping and eating well?
I'm going back to bed. Last night, I was zonked around 9, wanted to go to bed, but my BFF called and you all know how girls can be. The bad thing is she's one hour behind, and think I'm on the same time zone :))
The convo didn't stop till past midnight.
So, after some time in the garden... I'm ready to catch up with my sleep. Plus, my body aches, being almost sedentary the whole winter, and now more physically active.
So have a good Wednesday. Don't forget it's Power Prayer day. (doesn't matter what time in the evening you do that).
Please include Ray (Faye's DH) in your prayers. Doctors found another knot on his back, and they think it's cancerous.
Then there's Pegi who needs financial assistance with Darwin's exorbitant medicine cost.
Also Barb....Susan... and of course dear Sue..
In fact, it doesn't hurt to pray for all you know.
Good morning Sistah's all!!
LOL, Jaye and everyone...I came in yesterday to say hi.
But wouldn't you know, got side tracked with the new RMB thread!!
Well, i am trying hard to work on my Gardens, lots of work still to be done.
But, I did get the Fire Deck all cleaned up yesterday! Hoping to have a prayer fire for tonights prayer night.
Thank you for the nice list Sistah...Don't want to forget anyone...Need to add little David and Isabelle
also, Sue's mom and Marion's mom!!.
What's Everyone up to today?
Yep. not forgetting Marion's mum and of course the new kids in town!
Did you see the Flower Moon? I didn't, but pictures of it were beautiful. It would be nice if it happened again tonight for your fire.
Sis Judy, am wanting to take a nap but got sidetracked like you! Went to FB to see what my family's up to, and then decided to do laundry and groom kitties.
Wow.. look at the time.. soon I'll have to start cooking.
That can wait. In the meantime, my body is screaming....... 'Go to sleep woman!'
Flower moon?? OH Man...No I didn't, mainly because it's been very cloudy all week!!
Boohoo...But, Like you, I did talk to a good DG friend!! Haha, what a great way to meet, via ringle jingles!!
She is Moon form the Gypsie Camps, just love that lady...
But, ohwah, i will have to look that Moon up! Yep, going to say some prayers to Mother Nature for a clear sky tonight, cloudy all morning.
So, i hope you get back on track and take a nap...LOL, I've been doing that alot too, just cause i wake up at the crack of dawn...nothing like a bunch hungry birds to chirp me awake!
It's going to be another very warm day and I have to get out and see how my plants are doing. A couple men came out yesterday and asked if we had fruit trees, seems some nasty bug if invading them. Well, they did find one on the lemon tree and 3 on the blood orange, if they plan on spraying they will come out in a couple weeks. They told me they found about 300 on someone's tree. They said it doesn't affect the fruit.
Took my treadmill test yesterday and boy did I get tired. Couldn't make it to the end without getting dizzy and out of breath. The EKG was good, so guess it is up to the doctor if any more testing is done. Breathing test on Friday. I'm more concerned about Darwin's health right now, guess that is kind of normal. Most exercise I've had in ages!
All you tired ladies - please get some rest...... and hope those sore muscles don't overstrain!!
I'm making some more cushions for our church hall's metal chairs. Using the foam I had covered for our handbell tables (4"D x 27" W) and will be able to get 8 of them cut, then slice in 1/2 to make 2"D. We can't afford to buy the handbells (we'd rented them in 2009 from a Handbell company and gave them back after 4 months free use) so I may as well use the foam for something. And we have the fabric that covered them so am cutting it to cover the seat cushions. This makes 16 cushions per foam slab and I have 2 foam slabs...... 32 of 2" cushions to cover. I get about 2 to 3 per night.
We have a memorial service and luncheon afterwards, so want to get as many done as possible.
I did about 25 a few years ago, so this will add to the "stockpile" for the church.
These are thicker than the 1/2" ones they've been using for years!! I think they just put quilt bat inbetween 2 layers of upholstery fabric that was donated by our lovely church ladies. They sewed them on the machine, so that's why they were so thin....... mine are hand-stitched. Great way to "do" something while watching TV LOL
How are you cutting the foam Susan?
my DH has lovingly lent me a large kitchen knife that he keeps amazingly sharp. I draw the lines I want to cut on - score on all 4 sides and then slice away to divide the two halves. It ain't perfect (I'M not perfect, so it figures lol) but it's pretty good, and once I put the fabric on, and people plant their butts on it, who cares? It's 2" of comfy lol
I'm using the same fabric I used on the hall's 17 windows (2 panels of the same fabric - navy blue, and one panel of the same fabric - chocolate brown, for the windows. The cushions will be navy blue to match the other cushions I'd made before).
Haven't been in in so long.. been so busy lately... please forgive me.
I think of all of you often, but lots going on here lately.
will catch up when I can...
((((((((((BJ))))))))) Great to see you, hon!!!!!!!!!!
'course you're forgiven (as if there's anything TO forgive - life happens, and we all know it!!)
Hey BJ! Gotta slow down sometime, don't over do it!
Susan, have you tried using an electric knife, like you use to slice a turkey? I have heard that works pretty good?
http://www.ehow.com/way_6386400_instructions-cut-foam-rubber.html
Waving B.J. and all others
Susan was just about to tell you the same..yes, electric knife works wonders..just watch your fingers
Man!!! some men are such big babies when they get sick with a cold ugh!! Lays around moaning and groaning all day yesterday. Today I am outside trying to figure out a sprinkling system and he is watching out the window telling me how to do it UGH!!!!!! Sometimes I could just bat him a one!!! He knows nothing about watering flowers, I asked him to be sure and water good while I was gone to Carson City, because it was warming up and windy. I came home everything was wilted!!! He said "I misted them Sat & Sun" MISTED!!! barely got the dirt wet. I am going to spend a few days at my mom's after Mother's day to do some yard work for her. So I need to get this water system just right so all he needs to do is turn on the water.
Need to get that 2x4 out!
Lolol LK, a 2 X4 to knock some sense into Doug? He'll just go back to whining the next time he's ill, right Cindy?
Kel's the same way sistah. Bad part about each time he's ill, he doesn't heed my suggestions. It's always others' he'd take up, even though I'd suggested them first. As though I'm trying to kill him!
Cindy, my ex did the same. He'd just 'wet' them. Until I told him he need to count up to a thousand 1, a thousand 2 until he reached 20 for EACH plant.
A water system will be much more appreciated by your garden.
Wooohoooo Pegi!! You passed the stress test!
Come on now, remember all that work in your garden is exercise too. But you're right, you can stop when you want, not on for the stress test.
We'll continue to pray for Darwin. I'm certain Darwin tries his very best to stay upbeat, for your sake.
Last year, around this time, one of my persimmon tree's leaves were ravaged! Not this year, but not taking any chances, so I started spraying all the fruit trees.
Seems like you got a lot of cushions to do, Susan.
That is a good suggestion by LK, to use an electric turkey knife. Imagine if you're having to work with styrofoam.. the sound will drive you nuts!
Good luck on them, Susan.
No apologies needed BJ. Coming over daily to this thread isn't mandatory. Real life is.
Wondering if Marion got her house issues' straighten up.
Hi Betty!
Well, I did take a nap, Sistah Judy. Rested muchly, and I'm sure I will have to take a sleep aid tonight!
Survivor's on!

going out of town for a few days. see y'all soon
Have a safe trip, Sis.
watch my little fingees? hmmmmmm well, I've already cut 18 out of the 1st foam slab and the 2nd one is the same size.
The other thing is - I'd have to watch that the 4" slab didn't "vibrate" while cutting giving me a crooked cut and that I don't cut so fast that I dig into my floor LOL That's where I doing it btw - my parquet floor....... and so far haven't damaged it, but don't know if I would, using a "power tool" lol
I'll try it on the next slab and will let you know.
Have a safe drive, Kathy!!
Still working on house issues. Getting repairman takes time apparently. I guess more people are remodeling homes with the economy like it is so they are (good ones that is) in demand. Eventually will get it all finished.
Yesterday was dental appointment and errands....I was so glad to be home as it is hot in Tally!!!
OOooops forget about the vibration when the two knifes rub against each other, Susan.
And I was about to suggest a hedge trimmer!
Good morning sistahs.
No news about the work truck yet, mechanics haven't touch it. If Kel had listened to me and fix our 'family' vehicle, we won't be in this quagmire. So, the man now have to use the non-a/c box truck. He's lucky he doesn't have to walk to work.
I'm expecting a black cloud looming above today. It rained last night, and it looks like it will do so again.
Glad that the Lord took care of the first morning chores.
Energy level is down this morning, but I'm kinda please with myself that I've been pushing myself in the garden this week, and just feeling tired now. But may be because, I've also limit my carbos and meat protein intake, and last night, you all should see me gobbling up some heated black beans!!!
Think today, I'll just veg.
May your day be better than mine.
Marion, did all the mold cleared up? Hope you find a repairperson soon.
Over here, they're a dime a dozen. Not much activity on remodeling homes. The economy here is non-existent!!
Well the mold under the sink area that is visible seems to be cleared. Treated several times with white vinegar and followed with baking soda solution. The part in question is under the flooring in the sink area---the actual bottom of the cabinet. That has to be taken out to see if the sub flooring is involved.
I don't really know why they are so busy here as the economy isn't all that great here either. For some odd reason they are though........or just don't want to work.
Could be so many went under, and this makes a very limited pool for those that need help.
I would tend to agree, Jaye - smaller "pool" of workers to draw on..... and companies are loath to hire more to cover because they may not get Enough work and would be in a layoff situation again...... Not a happy thought.....
Well, Bob & I are going to a job fair on Monday for the City of Calgary - they're apparently hiring for quite a few positions. Here's hoping.....
Sending prayers with you both!
Marion, sure hope you can find good eye candy for your repair man!
Susan, here's wishing that Bob's and yours experiences will entice some companies into hiring.
I understand perfectly the hurdles you're facing.
It's the same everywhere, with most companies, age can be the deciding factor.
Kel says that in Georgia, at his age (46), he won't have a chance of working at the state prison there. The max. age for applicants is 35.
