Good morning!
I'm through watering the plants this morning, and ready for coffee!!
Buttered croissants sistahs and assorment of jelly and an pepper jelly too.
I've been on a hot kick lately, and have this intense craving for hot pepper jelly.
First time I had that was in Texas before it became part of the offerings in a supermarket. It was made with jalapeno peppers.
Now, all sorts of peppers can be made into jellies.
Gonna be another sewind day for me this morning.. then will try to get Kel to clean out one room in his workshop later to turn it into another storage room!! Lol!! Poor man can't even find peace in his cave.
Have a wonderful Saturday sistahs, and Marion, I sure hope I'm there to help you with the floors.

Sis Kathy, do you think that someone might throw something in the front yard!
my answer is yes.
Morning everyone!
Sounds like you all have plans for today? I have cleaned and fed all the hummers, so they are happy. I go through so much sugar in the summer, filling 10 feeders every other day. But it is so worth it to have them here!
LK, name your home, Hummer Hotel!
You're the only sistah with that kind of blessing. 10 feeders? WOW. I have one, and don't see any hummers yet.
Sis Kathy, please just stay in the house this afternoon. Too hot for you to be outside.
Sue, maybe the kids can build a mud fortress!!!
Many hugs Kathy, that is very sad..
Hello Ladies,
Wasn't sure if this hotel had wi-fi or not. The drive up here was HORRIBLE!!! They are doing construction, the lanes are really narrow, and lots of BIG trucks with barely room get get pass them scary!!!. There was two big rigs going up, one was to slow so the other went to move into left lane to pass and did not see the pickup truck that coming and dang squashed him into the cement divider. I was right behind the truck and had to slow down because I did not know if there was going to be a wreck or not. Lots of skid marks from the pickup truck, and I bet he peed his pants too, lol.
Well lost $50 last on the slots. Every time we come up here the machines are different. I was looking for the one that I had won $400 on but it's GONE~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So I will try my luck later tonight
Have a good day Ladies
I would love to be able to say "Man is it ever hot"!! Today it started to rain, and proceeded to S*&%
Cindy - how scary is that? To see an accident in progress...... yikes!
our Church had a Garage/Bake/Book Sale with a lunch today. I rented a table and sold enough to pay for the table and my lunch lol The nice part is always the fellowship. The bake table and book table both did well. Guess people will always eat and read, eh? lol The lunch was a choice of either soup/bun/pie/beverage Or hot dog/bun/pie/beverage for $5!! Good value! I had the soup - Hamburger soup with lots of chunky veg, and Key Lime pie. yummmmmmy!
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready, and we are having sausage and biscuit, with fresh peaches!
Cindy, so glad to hear you did not get hurt in that accident! Hope you hit the big jackpot when you get back to the casino!
As some of you know, I am in a sewing group on the other room, and I made two strip quilts from all the donated fabrics, well I took one to the hospital, and ask for the Public Relations person, and a lady named Cookie came out. When I told her what I was there for, she cried, and was so thankful for the donation, and told me they never get donations like this, and there are so many in need! So she called the hospital chief, and got permission to find someone in need. We found a little boy named David, that just had surgery on his ankle for a large mass removal, and they think it might be cancer. They are still waiting on the lab results. David was so in love with his new quilt, as was Mom and Grandma that was there. They gave written permission to the hospital to have the story released in the paper as well. Little David even gave me a kiss on the cheek before I left! It felt so good to make that little boy happy!
Linda you are one special gal, quilt is beautiful and so is David. I hope the mass on his ankle isn't cancer.
Glad to see LK posted that in this house. Great job!!!
LK - David's smile is proof enough that he Loves the quilt that some ladies that don't even know him made. Bless you for bringing it to him! Cookie, from the hospital, is a lovely person to have suggested him. It sounds like this is a good place for any donations to be taken......... :-)
WOA!!! What a beautiful picture of a boy with a beautiful quilt made by our beautiful LK!
It was the easiest charity swap for me. All the ladies needed to do was to send strips, and LK did the rest.
Your heart's in the right place, and David certainly shows how much that quilt will mean to him. He'll grow up with it!
Yes, I'm sure it will be a treasured keepsake! It really is lovely....... :-)
Ladies, I ask for your prayers for another DG'er please? Kidneyguy/Dianne, on Betty's thread has lost her husband today. He lost his battle with cancer, and is now pain free in Heaven.
There is a prayer thread if you like like to say something. Thanks
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1256608/
Thank you, Linda Kay, for posting the thread for prayers for Dianne & Warren.............
LK, now I know who Susan meant by Dianne and Warren on another posting.
Knew only by the DG name.. Kidneyguy. Thanks LK.
Good morning sistahs. Yes, garden watering is done. Now it's time to enjoy a cup of coffee to open up my sinuses and have some Monday's toasts!!
Marion, my weedeater is a Black and Decker cordless too. It's very light compared to the gas Stihl. Somehow I didn't know it's a B&D as it's stamped Grass Hog on it :D
Managed to clear only 1/100th of the weeds!! Lolol!! Don't want to spoil Kelvin you know...
Sis Kathy, those are beautiful lilies. I have Lollypop blooming, and it's kinda early.
What you sistahs are up to today? Hope whatever plans you have, your day would run smooth.
Morning everyone! Just sitting here having coffee. I have my watering done too! 73 Degree's, with 87 % humidity!
I didn't see the moon the previous night as it rained some, and was too cloudy, but last night, I saw it. It's beautiful and still bright!
Sistah, when David's article appear in the papers, please post it for us.
I sure will!
No moon here either, as it was really cloudy!
We saw the moon about 10pm, and it was very bright, but no longer saw the Largeness of it which was apparently evident at the moon rising earlier in the evening.
Well, looks like we're going to have lovely weather! It's 15c / 59F and going to 23c / 73F on Tuesday - and that's only our Spring lol
I've been sewing some cushions for the church's hall chairs - those "lovely" grey metal ones........ brrrrr
Currently there's only a few 2" cushions, and the rest are about 1/4" so very thin and not very comfortable....... The 2" ones are better for "skinny bums" lol
Bob & I are going to our gov't benefit Information Session May 24th to help get job info. Maybe they can set him for training?!?! It would be great, but the lady I spoke to said that age discrimination is prevalent, but she said it couldn't hurt to ask............
Hi Ladies,
Made it home safe and sound YAY! ^_^ The roads coming home were just as bad going up. Lots of construction, with very narrow lanes and lots of big rigs to pass, NOT FUN!!! lol
Almost won a BIG jackpot. Was playing quarter Wheel of Fortune and the all 3 of the jackpot thingies stopped the row above payline, go figure, LOL. If they would have stopped on payline I would of won 4000 quarters plus the big jackpot (because I played max lines) $217,834.84.
My mom bowled pretty good, won't know if she has won any money until the tournament is over in June. If some of her team mates would show up sober, they could of won some money on the team event. There are two women that start drinking as soon as they have breakfast, but by noon when they start to bowl they are seeing 40 pins instead of 10. That is another reason why I won't bowl. It cost $55 to bowl in this tournament.
Still don't know what is happening with the house, but if we have to move a friend of Doug's has lots of land that we can put a trailer on. Yes, we are talking about getting trailer (thinking of our future again) that way we will always have something to live in.
LK you have a heart of GOLD!! and David is just the cutest little guy.
Cindy - too bad you didn't win the Big One
Glad to hear your Mom enjoyed herself - drinking that early in the day is just SAD........ especially when it affects the team.
Hope things get settled with your home - whether you stay settled where you are, or get a trailer on a friend's property - just hope it's something you're happy with!!
what a sweet kitty, Sue! Looks so comfy and about ready to "puuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrr"
Love that kitty!
Susan, we need to set up our sewing machines together!! We can certainly make our projects more fun!
Hope there will be training programs for Bob to develop new job skills.
Cindy, no you didn't!!!!! I can't believe, you came that close to buying a dream home!! That's close to a quarter of a million dollars, gal!! Maybe you should return asap!
Maybe HUD will let you have the house, and you don't need to get a trailer, Cindy.
Awww... that will be one well behaved kitty.
Good night ladies. I've been pushing myself to be more physically active so I can sleep without any chemical aid!!
Good for you, Jaye - you sound much more chipper!
Oh yes, what fun we'd have!! I wonder if the ladies who are going to Betty's RU will be brining their sewing machines?!?!
morning
i need to sell my sewing machine. it has sat for the last 3 yrs and i honestly think my sewing days are over. i just dont have the time . Yet i know if i do sell it then i will need it ! ? LOL but i need to do it. we need the money and its just sitting
its a Husquavarna 525 Once Jessica left home i just stopped sewing. I always sewed her stuff. She loved halloween, i made her costums. since she was a big heavy girl i always made clothes and did many many seams ect so her clothes would fit more better.
sigh....
Morning everyone! Nice and cool this morning, as it is raining!
Sue does your machine do embroidery? Sorry to hear you have to sell it.
Morning, light rain, gardens are sure loving it!!
Susan, the gals won't have time to sew..lol
we got a hail storm sundat nite it hailed for 30 minutes, then poured the rest of the nite. my brugs don't have a leave left on them, ans my mulch was washed away. all that work gone
Good Morning Ladies,
It's nice and cool now, but will be 92 today. Need to take dogs for their walks. I take one at a time, last time I took them both they almost knocked me into the lake. So I am getting in 2 1/2 miles of walking, I have lost 13 pounds in the last two months YIPPIE!!!!! Then I need to work on the front yard some more. I have 3 Red Hibiscus, 8 Pink Cleome, 4 Coneflower "Tomato Soup", some Jolly Jumpups, peppers, chives, and thyme to get trans planted. Plus a flat of strawberries but need to go over to Doug's mom's she gave me her strawberry planter, she said it's big ^_^
Doug's mom has found some papers that Nanny had wrote a "will" on, and it has 3 signatures on it so it is a legal binding will leaving everything including the house to Doug's mom. We don't have a problem with HUD, we are able to assume the loan. It is Medical that we have to deal with. We are hoping that the "will" and some bills that has Wandalee's name on it at this address will be enough to keep them away. They have an appt. Wed. with Legal Aid, will know a little more.
Good morning sistahs. Woke up 2 hours late!! Drats.. I was gonna try to beat the sun every morning, but today, it beat me.
So sorry Sis Kathy. Are all your farm kids okay? I'll be sick to my stomach looking at all that work for a hail to wipe it out.
The brugs will sprout new leaves, give them time.
Susan, Betty's right. I'm sure the sistahs who are going won't be toting a sewing machine there. Some are flying in, and that would be inconvenient.
Sue, I checked for a Viking Husqvarna 525, I can't find anything for a sewing machine. But I did come across S25, which is an overlock machine. There's a bidding war going on eBay for one, maybe you could try selling on that.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Husqvarna-Viking-Huskylock-s25-Overlock-Serger-Sewing-Machine-like-NEW-/160794020057?pt=BI_Sewing_Machines&hash=item25701208d9
I'd love to own a good overlock like that..but I can't afford it.. and you need a good sale on that.
Yay!!! Good news there Cindy!!
One hurdle that's removed. Wills will clear up a lot of red tape for you.
Again, I hope Medi Cal trust the hardship part.
all the kids are fine. jacks pen took a beating, but he was in with me making a mess. boy did michael fuss when i brought jack in
Jack is the goat??
Who in their right mind would ... oh wait.. it's you Sis Kathy :D Of course... you had to bring Jack in!!
